1. English Composition Reflective Essay
English composition has taught me everything I know now, from how to effectively write a thesis
to grammatically fix my essay. This class fixed my writing skills to speak and write incorrect
terms. English composition gave me the edge I need to take my writing skills to next level. This
class has helped me understand the importance of documentation in a research skill. English
composition showed me that sources either make or break your essay. The true honesty of this
course was that I am glad I took it. At first, I hate this class so much, because this class required so
much extra work to be done, but over time I realized that the extra work really pushes you over the
edge to make your essay great. The extra work justifies your essay and molds

2. My Experience In English Writing
English is a core concept in the Untied States and other countries that has allowed inviduals to
advance their knowledge. Not only does English provide an advancement in knowlege, but has
created a way for individuals to share their thoughts and feelings through writing. Which is why
English is one of the four subjects that is required to be taught in almost every school district in
America including mine. I began taking English from a young age which allowed me to take
advanced placement English IV my senior year at Tupelo High School. Advanced Placement English
IV allowed me to further my education in writing, which in return allowed me to overcome
obstacles, low points and discover strengths I never knew I had. Like any other thing in life there
are always obstacles individuals face everyday, for me in my English IV class writing was
something that was very challenging. The first challenge writing presented to me was trying to
organize all of my thoughts, so that it made sense. The first essay I ever wrote in my English class
was a journal entry about a memorable experience, so with that being said I decided I would write
about the experience I had while hunting with my Dad. The hunting experience with my dad had
many different parts, and one of my biggest challenges I had was organizing my thoughts, so that it
flowed correctly. Since I was telling a story within my journal I realized that I was jumping around
more then I should have and this became a problem. I learned

3. Types of Personality Essay
Personality is something that is related to the characteristic pattern, thought, feelings and behaviour
of a person (Cherry, 2014). There are many theories that have been stated in order to describe
personality (Cherry, 2014). Everyone has his/her own unique personality. Different person has a
different personality and each kind of personality has its own advantages and weaknesses. Everyone
should appreciate his/her own personality, and also others personality too. It is important to
understand other people so that everyone can easily get along together. However, based on Littauer

completing tasks. According to Littauer (1983), there are two main problems of perfect melancholy
which are easily depressed and have low self–esteem. Littauer (1983), also suggested a few ways in
order to overcome these problems. First, to avoid from being depressed, a perfect melancholy
should not look for trouble and second is do not get hurt so easily.
The next type of personality is popular sanguine. A popular sanguine is usually a fun person. They
are talkative and cheerful person. They also easily get along with other people. Usually, a popular
sanguine is a warm person. They love to hug, kiss and stroke their friends and family. They are
good on stage and they make an excellent greeter, host and receptionist due to their attractive
personality. The person with this kind of personality is usually an emotional and demonstrative
person. They are optimistic and enthusiastic over everything. They also get excited easily on
something that is brought to them. They are also curious about everything. They usually want to
know every single thing that happened around them. They are also a helpful person and always
volunteer to do something because they usually seek for popularity. They also creative like the
perfect melancholy. However, a popular sanguine creativeness is more colourful and more fun as
compared to the creativeness of the perfect melancholy. They also can

4. The art of writing is a complex and difficult process. Proper writing requires careful planning,
revision, and proofreading. Throughout the past semester, the quality of my writing has evolved
significantly. At first, I struggled with the separation of different types of paragraphs, and I found
writing them laborious. Constant practice, however, has eliminated many of my original difficulties,
and helped to inspire confidence in my skills. As a collegiate writer, my strength lies in my clear
understanding of the fundamentals of writing, while my primary weakness is proofreading my own
work. During the transition from a high school writer to a collegiate writer, my strength at

Finding an introductory paragraph that hooks the reader can be troublesome, but throughout the
course, I have spent considerable time developing that technique. The body of my arguments
each exhibit strong support for the thesis. In addition, my conclusions summarize the papers
without restating unnecessary information. Overall, my comprehension of the basic format of an
argument has proved to be a valuable asset. The weakest portion of my writing is my lack of good
proofreading. All papers require a significant amount of proofreading not only for grammatical
errors, but also for structural problems. Proofreading my own work is difficult. Many times, I
wrongly assume that the reader is able to understand my thoughts, while the various points of my
argument are actually not expressed clearly. In some instances, I fail to catch obvious errors, such
as sentence fragments or contractions, which I should be able to eliminate easily from my
writing. Proofreading my own work has consistently been the most difficult part of my writing
process, and I continue to struggle with catching all of the errors in my papers. Analyzing my
strengths and weaknesses as a writer is extremely important. Despite the fact that I understand the
structure of a good argument, I still miss obvious errors in my papers because I lack the skills
necessary to properly proofread my own work. In the future, I plan on spending a large portion of

5. Writing is way that we can express ourselves, it is a way to interface ideas and thoughts and to
prove a point. Throughout my writing experience or process I have struggled with writing
especially using details or really expressing myself my work. In this course Facts & Fiction: Portraits
in World Art I expect to gain more knowledge on how to write a perfectessay, story, letter, and
assignment. I expect to learn new genres and rhetorical situations. I also think my writing will
improve academically and I will develop my skills in writing. Also taking my writing to a different
point of view, level, and writing something different rather than the usual. I look forward to getting
feedback from my peers and learning their thoughts on my writing and how they can help me
improve.
Reading and writing were two things my parents use to always push me to improve and work on
more often. They always told me they are the essentials of everything thing. Even though I
disliked both at a young age as I grew older I preferred writing because I can always change the
way I write and write from my point of view, really be creative with it and prove my point.
Growing up I always loved writing short stories especially scary stories. I always was creative
with them and even made them realistic. To write an essay I usually have a couple of steps
writing an outline, and the thesis a draft and finally a final draft. The most difficult part about this
is writing the thesis because the whole essay revolves the thesis because it summarizes the whole
essay. At the end of some essays, I had to use citations to do that there were many websites that
helped me cite sources such as easybib which was a really simple process. So, citing sources was
one of the easiest things about writing the essay.
Writing to a teacher is way more complex then writing to a fried or a family member. Writing to a
teacher is way more complex, I must make sure that everything is on point or it reaches the state of
protection. Which is having the right format, a great thesis and really conveying the point of the
essay. Writing to a friend or a family member is much easier I usually don't focus on grammatic
errors or writing a perfect thesis. Today some of us don't

Types of Intelligence The meaning of intelligence is a concept that varies across cultures and
ideologies. According to psychologists "intelligence is the capacity to understand the world, think
rationally, and use resources effectively when faced with challenges." (Feldman, R. S. 2010). Due to
the different types of human capabilities, there are different types of human intelligence. Some
intelligence is expressed mentally as in existential, intrapersonal, and spatial intelligences. Existential
intelligence is the capacity and inclination to consider and question philosophically. People with this
type of intelligence are very comfortable with concepts like the meaning of life, the purpose of death,
and other realities. Intrapersonal...show more content...
Musical/Rhythmic intelligence is also physical intelligence. This form of intelligence is more than
being able to keep accurate rhythm or play an instrument. People with this type of intelligence think
in musical terms, they live musically; music is a part of their being. Naturalist Intelligence: the
ability to discriminate among living things (plants, animals) and sensitivity to other features of the
natural world (clouds, rock configurations) (Gardner H. n.d.). Although, this type of intelligence was
necessary for hunting and gathering civilizations; I believe that Jacque Cousteau had this type of
intelligence. The more familiar forms of intelligence are linguistic, interpersonal, and logical
/mathematical intelligence. Linguistic intelligence is necessary for authors, attorneys, and anyone
whose bread and butter is made through language. Interpersonal intelligence is defined as the ability
to understand other people. Yet, I find that empathy, and wisdom must be included for the
psychological definition of intelligence to exist, or instead of solutions, problems can be created. I
define wisdom as not just knowing what to do, but actually doing it. Logical or mathematical
intelligence is an innate ability to interact with mathematical and scientific principles. Practical
intelligence is needed for success in careers that involve corporations, the military, and other
structured environments. Practical

The foundation is the base for the constructed building and as such is required to carry out several

There are various methods of modifying the concept of strip foundations to allow its use in other
situations, for instance where some soil has a poor bearing capacity. This may be the case in wet
ground, soft clay or filled ground, where the width of the strip foundation can be extended to
spread the load over a larger area of soil. This will require the provision of reinforcement to the
foundation in order to withstand tension and spread the load over a wider area.
When a strip foundation is to be used on a sloping site the most economic solution is to use a
stepped foundation which will reduce the amount of excavation, construction under ground, backfill
and trench support. The provision of stepped foundations following the line of the ground requires
each step to be between 150 and 225millimetres in order to accommodate brick or block courses.
The lap of concrete at the step should be not less than the depth of the foundation concrete and never
less than 300millimetres whichever is the greater.

9. Essay About My English Class
I can remember seeing that I had to take an English class my first semester of college. I was
already overwhelmed with starting college, and having to write college essays made me get even
more nervous. I sat down with my mom and decided to look at the English classes available, and I
finally decided that I had to take an evening class to make it work in my schedule. The first day of
English came and now looking back it was not as bad as I thought. It made me a better writer and be
where I am today. It may have taken me some time to get where I am today, but at least I am on
the right track. English Composition helped me realize that I am my own author and have strengths
that I did not realize I had. When I first started college I did not know what to expect with an

that. I took American History and we would have to write...show more content...

technique before submitting all my essays. I can remember having to write my first essay and I
was scared, because I felt like I had to get a good grade. I started thinking about what tools I could
use to help me, and I decided to go to The Learning Center to help with my essay. When I went
there they would make edits to my essay and then explain what I should change. The tutor noticed I
used multiple choppy sentences and commas in spots there should not be. Sometimes I would even

and people spend most of their time communicating in different forms such as; oral, non–verbal,
written and interpersonal. Most successful people are those who are good at interacting with other
people in different situations. The ability to skilfully interact with people is grounded in a person's
unwavering skills in the different forms of communication. Therefore, it is important for students to
appreciate should and develop good communication skills.
Types and Forms of Communication
Having appreciated the importance of communication in different contexts, it is imperative to
understand the different forms or categories of communication, in which people engage in. This is
because these different forms of communication demand unique sets of skills or tactics.
Oral Communication: this involves exchange of messages or information using spoken words and is
commonly referred to as communication by word of mouth. This occurs in different interaction set
ups such as meetings, talks, discussions, presentations, interviews, speeches and so on.

Research is done everyday. Research is used in the many different situations managers encounter
everyday. Research is part of the problem–solving manager do to make decisions. Research is
defined as "the process of finding solutions to problem after thorough study and analysis of the
situational factor" (Sekaran, p3, 2003). Managers use research for daily operational problem as well
as bigger problems that can require hired research consultants. Managers who use research are able
to communicate with the hired consultants because they understand the process of inquiry,

Applied research is "aimed at solving a currently experienced problem" (Sekaran, p10, 2003). This
research can be as simple as finding solutions to daily operational problems.
One problem managers consistently want research on is the relationship between customer
satisfaction and loyalty. The research found on the relationship of customer satisfaction and loyalty
spans over the past decade. Many researchers argue that there is no relationship between customer
satisfaction and loyalty while others find direct correlations between the two and a business's
profitability. In Roger Hadowell's study, he defines loyalty as both behavioral and attitude while
conducting his research on a banking organization. He states that behaviors including continuance,
increased relationship, and recommendations are all behaviors of loyalty to an organization
(Hadowell, 1996). His research illustrates the "relationship of profitability to customer related
outcomes that managers can influence directly" (Hadowell, 1996). His findings support the
hypothesis that customer satisfaction influences customer loyalty increasing profitability. Hadowell
addresses two difficulties that he encountered during his research. First, work with the organization
in order to develop the ideal measurement system used for the research. Secondly, focus on data
collected over a period of time with strong organizations (Hadowell, 1996).

12. Different Types of Love Essay
"Love does not begin and end the way we seem to think it does. Love is a battle, love is a war; love
is a growing up." –James A. Baldwin. The author, Baldwin talks about the fact that we assume love
starts once you meet that person and it ends when you die, but love is everlasting and is a part of
you from the very beginning. In his quote he also says that we will face different types of love, while
growing up. Films are made about it, books, songs, and poems are written. Artists draw, paint and
sculpt from inspiration of it and people spend their entire lives waiting for it. In dictionaries love is
defined as a feeling of warm personal attachment or deep affection but it is more than just a deep

This is why mother sends out more of a warm fuzzy feeling than the father. Family love is the type
of love that every human being encounters throughout his or her lifetime. It's the very first and
less painful type of love. Parental love isn't the only part of family love. Sibling love is a big part
to. Sibling rivalry starts when the second child is born and the 1st child starts to feel alienated and
abandoned. Even though siblings are like archenemies, they have the most caring love. Since they
are closer through blood, they have the ability to protect each other and fight for each other.
Another main type of love is the love that is felt towards friends. This love is felt less when younger
because when you are younger you are accompanied more by parental love and attention. But when
grown older, parents become busier that the kid will start creating their own bonds and connections
with other children their age. This would start a friendship. After people make new friends they start
to become more dependent and more trusting until they feel like they are one person with their
friend. Having common interests, similar history, common values, and equality draws people to be
together as friends. Psychologically when one friend feels pain the other friend feels it because of
the bond created between them. In their mind they have automatically "connected" themselves with
that person. But friendship is the hardest to find because you're not

13. Who Are You As A Writer? Essay
When presented with the question, "who are you as a writer?", I was speechless at first. But after
thinking about it, I realized who I am as a writer has been influenced by so many different
sponsors throughout my life and there was not a short, concrete answer. Brandt mentions that
"literacy is sponsored by people, institutions, and circumstances that both make it possible for a
person to become literate and shape the way the person actually acquires literacy." (Brandt 43)
My attitude towards writing has been influenced by teachers, both negatively and positively, by
my mother, and by academic assignments over the years. My answer to the question can only be
answered by a narrative of my writing life. I have convinced myself that I am a terrible writer,
and when presented with a writing assignment, I get anxious instantly. I see writing as a burden
and a huge obstacle that gets placed in my life. Academic writing is not fun, but something I
value due to the fact that we are a grade driven society. When writing, I write to the guidelines in
order to receive points for the requested criteria. The reason being, I gave up on expressing my
own ideas because I had been shut down by so many teachers throughout my education. I tried to
write down what came to my mind and put my own twist on things, but that was not the "right"
way to write papers. In order to make both my teachers and my grades happy, I wrote what they
wanted to hear, and even then I was not to the level they

14. My Writing Style Of My Handwriting
Ever since I discovered that there were different styles of handwriting outside the realm of first grade
chicken–scratch, I have been fascinated with refining my own. For me, handwriting has always been
another thing that has set me apart. While my handwriting has always been neat, it has never been
the physical handwriting that has set me apart, but rather the way that I use it.
In the age of the "digital native," longhand writing has become as obsolete as long division upon the
invention of the calculator. This fact made it all the more peculiar when, in eighth grade, I turned in
a handwritten draft of my five–page speech for my public speaking class. In a pile of neatly typed
essays, my hand–printed speech on lined paper was the obvious...show more content...
It wasn't necessarily out of necessity as much as pure habit. As my peers quickly typed up their
notes and schoolwork, it was hard for me to feel like my habit wasn't setting me back. When I
unsuccessfully tried to give it up in favor of the more efficient way of typing, I quickly
discovered that handwriting allows me a mental clarity that typing on a keyboard does not. When
I am writing by hand, I reflect on each letter, word, and sentence before I move on, rather than
being more concerned about what I am going to say next while typing on a computer. I think this
is because as I write down each letter, and the letters turn into words, sentences and ideas, I am
present in a way that I cannot be when listening to the clicking of a keyboard because there is no
screen in between me and what I am trying to write but instead just a pen and piece of paper.
Eventually, I realized that what I gave in effort to my work by taking the time to handwrite I got
back in overall quality. I no longer resented my tedious practice of handwriting everything because
I learned that it was much more than just an obnoxious habit or display of perfectionism. As soon
as I understood that my process, although at times tedious, is what works best for me, I allowed
myself to accept it for what it is. As they say, "good things take time." They take effort,

The Different Types of Media
I think that all different types of media have lots of different influences on society, especially
individuals. There is an enormous variety of media including; television, newspapers, radio,
magazines, advertisements etc. It seems that the more developed that society gets, the harder it
becomes to escape media. One of the most common forms of media is advertisements.
Advertisements are not only one of the most common forms of media but also one of the most

From soaps, like Coronation Street, to documentaries, like a day to remember, there's something for
all ages and makes it hard for people not to get infected by this contagious disease. Some people
might argue that television is a waste of time that could be better spent or that it displaces the brain
of useful information, when in fact these people are mistaken. With televisions powerful
documentaries it encourages everyone to take an interest in something and to learn about a passion
or maybe teach them how to carry out a dream. Television actually develops and nurtures the mind.
Even soaps have a secret hidden agenda of teaching the viewer about topics some people are too
scared to talk about or confront. For example a recent storyline in Coronation Street about an
emotional violent relationship shows that just because someone doesn't show bruises doesn't mean
they aren't in a abusive relationship. Soaps also feature stories of transvestites, child abductions,
murders, child neglect etc. putting these on a television screen educates people about everyday
things that other people believe shouldn't be discussed.

known as popular music, dance and R'n'B. it encourages

16. Speech Reflection Essay
During speech class this semester, I gave several different types of speeches on several different
topics. During this semester, my ability to give speeches in front of an audience has improved quite
a bit, I hope. Going into the semester, I had a really hard time giving speeches to people, but now that
speech is almost over I feel like I am more capable of doing so. I think the thing I did best during
the semester was getting good information for each of my speeches. My favorite assignment was
most likely the impromptu speech. I really liked that one because we did not have to prepare an
outline or anything like that, we just got to go up there and speak. During this semester, I learned
a lot about how to give speeches such as the proper way to stand so I do not rock, or how to use
my hands to emphasize my points. In the future, I think that I will be able to control my speed better
during my speeches which will help the people I am presenting to understand my message. I
think the skills I have acquired during speech will help me for the rest of my life. No matter what
career I choose, I am sure that at some point I will have to present to someone about something.
The skills I learned in speech will also help me just communicate with people in a one on one
situation easier than I do now. I can use these skills throughout the rest of high school and through
my six years of college still to come because whenever I have to present a project I will know how to
effectively communicate my message to my audience.
Based off of all of my reflection sheets, video evaluations, and peer critiques I have improved over
the course of the semester. At the beginning of the semester I had a problem with speed and using
to many "filler" words. As the year progressed, my speed became more and more controllable and
I used less and less filler words. After my most recent speech, I'm still not quite at the level I want
to be at, but I am far better than I was at the very beginning. I think just speaking in front of people
more than I am used to doing has helped me develop better speaking skills and grow in my ability to
effectively communicate with others. Throughout the semester I learned a lot about speaking,
performing, and

Persuasive writing use's specific features which help the information used to become persuasive

The journalist also always puts out a headline that would immediately get the audiences attention.
The headline is always the art of the journalist work, as they see this as an opportunity to sell their
story; headline could be short, snappy, and catchy. After the headline the journalist provides the
audience with a short paragraph which sums up the story, some see this as a short introduction.
The journalist does this to gain the audience interest. Most people know that a person's eyes are
always sighted upon small amounts of writing and imagery. So the short paragraph would make
the audience show some interest towards the story. In health and social care journalistic writing is
used a lot, whether this is about the stories about the NHS being published. Or when major
illnesses or problems are coming. An examp0le of this would be when we went through the period
of swine flue; wine flue was making its front page everywhere. This not only was a disaster but it
was the journalists dream, as they new it was a hot topic to write about as it would gain many
peoples attention, this would also push the journalists ratings up.

language as a main way to get the attention of someone, where as reflective language is where you
