The opening title sequence of Edward Scissorhands uses several camera techniques, including a close-up of the mansion where Edward was created that does a fast zoom up the steps, and an extreme close-up of the creator's face. It employs a zoom out from a pair of hands to emphasize Edward's scissor hands. The visual effects feature mainly black, light blue, and white colors with falling snow, giving a gloomy yet calm feel. The sequence sets up the film's genre by depicting a wintry, Christmas-like setting through the snow, while its dark colors hint at something more scary.

The editing techniques used in the are the visual effects used
which are using the dark colours in the background of the
opening title sequence which are mostly black and blue, and the
way the camera goes over the steps and statues which are
outside the mansion and are covered in dust showing that no one
lives there anymore , also how the writing comes out of the
screen making it look 3d, the camera then zooms into the credits
