7. “Because the model used for the front cover is
one of my favourite artists and she’s also very
popular and well-known so it hints to what other
artists the magazine will have articles about in it.
Also the colours used on the front cover (the red,
blue, yellow and green used in the masthead) are
bold and eye-catching so it grabs my attention
immediately. I also love the simplicity on this
magazine, because the cover has a limited
amount of features kept all to the left side of the
page which makes the magazine less busy and
crowded and makes it more clear for me to read
8. “I prefer Q magazine instead of Billboard or
Rolling Stone because of the shot that’s taken of
the model, I think using a close/extra close-up
shot makes the magazine look more striking and
powerful because the angle of gaze is over
powering since her eyes are so bold and closer to
us, in comparison to the other two magazines that
have a shot taken more further away from the
camera (close up- mid shot) so it doesn’t have the
same effect on me as Q magazine does”.

10. : “The logo/masthead for Q magazine really
attracted me because the boldness of the red grabs my
attention also the masthead isn’t that small it takes a large
amount of space in the corner of the magazine so I think the
size adds to why it appears so bold as well”.
11. “ Even though her name on the cover
(BEYONCE) Isn’t the boldest text on there it still grabs my
attention and it indicates to me that Beyonce is the main focus
for the front cover as she’s used as a model and has her name
on the cover so that really grabs my attention so the magazine
cover revolves around her so I would that's what first
attracted me”.

13. “ I think the image used works really well because she’s giving a really
fierce determined look at us, which shows us a glimpse of her personally
by just her pose and I also like the close up shot being used because her
whole head/face takes up the magazine and I like when covers have that
rather than having a mid or long shot of the artist/model. What I would
change about it is the colour of the text being used I think the contrast
between the two colours doesn't work as both the image and text or light
so the text fades into the background, I’d assume they didn't what that
effect as the reader should visibly be able to read the features easier”.
14. :“I think having the colour theme link to her make up
gives a strong effect as it makes us (the viewers) become drawn to her
eyes which captures our attention as the cover uses the colour blue for her
eye-shadow which makes her angle of gaze evident as the bright colours
catches our attention. The only negative point I have to say about the
cover is the way the model is posing , makes her appear awkward and
uncomfortable ”.
