Unethical or Ethical?: That is the question
Since the dawn of Facebook, the question of if the company is ethical or not has definitely been one that has been under
great debate. There are some individuals that feel it is just another tool to give the government as well as other people,
in general, an avenue to spy on the majority of our population with. Are you a Facebook user? Why do you use it? Do
you find yourself looking up people you do or don't know personal pages?

The researcher is responsible for making sure all participants are properly consented. In many cases, study staff will

At minimum, Facebook needed to inform their users they were going to be manipulating their emotions and conducting
an experiment. While utilizing their presence on the social media website, and their incoming interaction with other
users interacting with their page, without their permission. Facebook says that the effect wasn't large – but it was
obviously large enough for the authors to publish the study in a major science journal. T he company has argued that
the study was permissible because the website's data use policy states, "we may use the information we receive about
you...for internal operations, including troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, research and service improvement," and
that "we may make friend suggestions, pick stories for your News Feed or suggest people to tag in photos." With the
single word "research", Facebook feels they have the right to conduct "research". And experiment with our emotions

CATEXHAUST Gmbh (CG) which is not only a Germany manufacture company but also is the second largest supplier
to VAG Group ( Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT&SKODA) in Europe to measure whether it can enter Turkey market or
not after VW announced that they would build up a manufacturing plant in Turkey. 2. Evaluation of Turkey 2.1 Turkey

Thirdly, political and policies in many countries take joint venture as a prior entrance mode. Eventually, since vehicle
industry has become a main industry in Turkey, there must be good performance from the whole industry chain that CG
would have a lot of competitors and hard to enter the market If it choose greenfield or acquisition. 3.2 On the other
hand, less risk means CG would lose profits when choosing joint venture mode. In addition, management for mixing
two companies can lead to conflicts and battles if there objectives are changed or difference. Base on the advantages
and disadvantages above, joint venture is the best choice after balancing the risk and the profit earning. 4. Some culture
guidelines for operating in Turkey 4.1 There have culture differences between Turkey and German. Culture shared
norms based on value, attitudes and beliefs. (Daniels. J. D, Radebaugh. L. H,& Sullivan. D.P, 2011 ) There are
99.8% of Turkish are Muslim so that Turkish usually don't work on Ramadan (usually in June and July) and they never
eat pork. While German is a multi–religious country, there are 34%Protestant, 34% Roman Catholic, 3.7% Muslim, and
28.3% unaffiliated or other. The values in Turkey are family and polychronic time, they focus on family style and like

How to Write a Research Paper
How To Write A Research Paper
This guide covers research papers, and provides advice on forming a title for your research paper, how to plan your
paper before you start, and filtering material for your research paper.
What is a research paper?
The terms 'research paper' and 'term paper' are frequently used interchangeably. However, the terms do not mean the
same thing. 'Term paper' was used in the past exclusively to refer to the project (indeed research based) that was due at
the end of a term, semester or quarter whereas 'research paper' had a more specific meaning, i.e. a paper written as a
summary of research. Hence 'research papers' may be written at any level (before, during and after attending
university), they may be published ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If you do this as you perform the research, you'll save yourself hours of time later on.
Here are some research tips to get you started:
RESEARCH STEP 1 * Form a list of keywords from your research paper's working title * Use a thesaurus to find
words that mean the same thing as your list of keywords
RESEARCH STEP 2
Most students will begin researching using the Internet and indeed, this is a great way to get ideas for your research
paper. So start with Google, type in your keywords and bookmark the most relevant information sites that appear in
relation to the issue. Then identify all current matters that relate to your issue from those sites.
Note: Internet websites provide a fast source of up–to–date information but unfortunately they are not a reliable source.
Use a search of the web as a starting point but unless the website is hosted and edited by a 'reliable' organization (such
as the Government), don't rely on its contents as a source for your research paper. Find another means of verifying the
information.
RESEARCH STEP 3
Now you've identified a list of issues and current debates for your research paper, you need to find some quality source
material. The first stage is to find the most recent books written about the issue you're researching. Whilst books are not
as up–to–date as journals and articles, they will contain valid points–of–view that need to be considered. So where do
you find books for your research paper? *

Decision Making On The Marshmallow Task
Title:
Kidd, C., Palmeri, H., Aslin, R. N., (2013), Rational snacking: Young children's decision–making on the marshmallow
task is moderated by beliefs about environmental reliability. Cognition, 126(1), 109–114. url:
http://journals1.scholarsportal.info.ca/details/00100277/ v126i0001/109_rsycdombbaer.xml#cited
Research question or issue: The researchers conducting the experiment were evaluating the ability that children have to
make rational decisions when performing delayed gratification tasks. The analysts wanted to observe the effect of the
environment's reliability on the participants' decision making. The researchers wished to confirm or disprove their
predictions that a child's perception of their environment will affect their decision making. They also wanted to test
their prediction that children have not yet developed the ability to suppress there motive for prompt gratification.
During the classic marshmallow task children were offered a choice between eating one marshmallow immediately or
waiting and receiving a second. The study found that most children are unable to wait very long before deciding to eat
the marshmallow they have in front of them.
The results of the classic marshmallow task compelled them to postulate this hypothesis.
Method:
The researchers evaluated 28 participants, male and female, from age three years and six months to five years and ten
months. Among them, none had recently attended the laboratory where the experiment was

It can often be assumed to be a less detailed form of research than business research, but this is not the case, its is
simply less answer driven. And can often finish with no clear answer to the question. In this form of research, you are
much more likely to find hypothesis waiting to be tested, rather than theories believed to be true/false. Simply put,
business research is used to answer a question, academic research is used to acquire a body of knowledge. From this
definition, it is easy to understand why many pieces of academic research can lead into further business research
. For this reason, the space between these dichotomies is not always a clear one. There can often be a grey area found
between. An example of when research could fall into the grey area could be if a business were to conduct continuous
research. Companies often use continuous research on a market, that has been developed specifically to better
understand and to overcome market problems as they occur. Now is this academic research? As it is being peformed
with no clear objective in mind. Or is it business research? As it is used to answer the companies questions specifically,
when they arise. In this circumstance it is often the researchers responsibility to tailor and arrange their findings to
coordinate with their needs. It is in this instant that the researcher

Abstract
In this paper I have tried to explain the concept of positionality and its various parameters like emic and etic, positivist,
interpretivist, empiricist and rationalist, constructivist and reductionist. Then, I tried to analyze my positionality on the
basis of these points and how these will effect on the research that I select and the methodologies that I choose. Society

In other words, who I am determines, to a large extent, what I want to study.'
I am, as a researcher, a product of who I am as a person, and who I am as a person is a result of my race, class, gender,
and sexuality. I am the researcher I am because I have experienced life in a certain manner. Additionally, what I believe
about research cannot be separated from who I am (Harding, 1987).
Mehra (2002) explains further –'A researcher's personal beliefs and values are reflected not only in the choice of
methodology and interpretation of findings, but also in the choice of a research topic. In other words, what we believe
in determines what we want to study.'
Positivism verses Interpretivism Approach:
"Interpretive research begins and ends with the biography and self of the researcher." (Denzin, 1989, p.12). The
positivist researcher is not affected by the subject of the research because he makes generalizations. (Saunders, 2003 p.
83). When the investigator is a positivist, he tends to use methods like experiments, surveys and field studies to
generate data. In this approach, the interviewer is more likely to be an outsider which means that the investigator does
not have any relation with the study group.
From the other point of view, interpretivism is about opinions, views and perceptions the people experience in every
day life. For example, people interpretation happens according to the situation in which they experiences; which means

Evaluation Research Design Literature
253 Chapter 6 Evaluation Research Design: Literature Reviews & Synthesis Frequently a research question or
hypothesis can be answered through secondary research, i.e., a literature review or synthesis. Both strategies requires
the researcher to mine existing data sources; ―pull out‖ relevant data or information; summarize it; logically analyze
and/or statistically treat it; and report results. In many instances, the issue, problem, question, etc. which prompted the
idea for an evaluation study is resolved or answered by studying and reporting previous research reports in the literature
or synthesizing, either logically, statistically, or both, data drawn from existing databases. In program evaluation, it is

51). The meta–analytical approach advocated by Glass (1976) includes the aggregation of relevant findings from
empirical studies as summarized by the effect size, as well as an analysis of relevant variables which may operate on
the dependent and/or independent variables of each empirical study included in the analysis. Suri describes advantages
of the meta–analytic approach over the traditional narrative review; these include: (1) identification of effects, (2)
analysis of operating moderating variables, (3) an explicit explanation and rationale for study inclusion criteria, and (4)
the methodological flexibility to include a large number of empirical studies. Suri reports that criticisms include a
tendency to over generalize findings, the potential to include poorly designed empirical studies, overreliance on
published juried research, and ignoring studies where effect size isn't computed. D. Finally, Suri (2000) examines
Slavin's (1986) best–evidence synthesis. 1. Slavin (1986) asserts that best–evidence synthesis, "is designed to draw on
the strengths of each approach [traditional reviews and meta–analysis] and to avoid the pitfalls and characteristics of
each‖ (pp. 5–6). Slavin goes on to explain that best–evidence synthesis includes the "application of rational, systematic
methods of selecting studies to be included and use of effect size

Quantitative research methods
Quantitative Research Methods
Quantitative means quantity which implies that there is something that can be counted. Quantitative research has been
defined in many ways. It is the kind of research that involves the tallying, manipulation or systematic aggregation of
quantities of data (Henning, 1986)
John W. Creswell defined quantitative research as an inquiry into a social or human problem based on testing a theory
composed a theory composed of variables, measured with numbers, and analysed with statistical procedures in order to
determine whether the predictive generalisations of the theory holds true. (Creswell, 2003)
On the other hand, another author defined quantitative research as the collection of numerical data in order to ... Show

Nowadays this is carried out with the aid of sophisticated statistical computer packages. The analysis enables the
researcher to determine to what extent, there is a relationship between two or more variables. This could be a simple
association (for example people who exercise on a daily basis have lower blood pressure) or a causal relationships (for
example daily exercise actually leads to lower blood pressure)
Statistical analysis permits the researcher to discover complex causal relationships and to determine to what extent one
variable influences another.
The results of statistical analysis are presented in a standard way, the end result being a Probability value.
Reasons for selecting a quantitative paradigm
Researcher's world view
A researcher's comfort with ontological, epistemological, axiological, rhetorical, and methodological assumptions of the
quantitative paradigm
Training and Experience of the researcher
Technical Writing Skills, computer statistical skills, library skills
Researcher's Psychological attributes
Comfort with rules and guidelines for conducting research; low tolerance for ambiguity; time for a study short duration

For many years, engineers have transformed life and technology. Engineers are scientists, mathematicians, inventors,
and project planners combined. An engineer takes information from various fields and applies that information to solve
problems. Engineers invent solutions and products in every field, including disciplines like aerospace, software,
biomedical, chemical, civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering. All engineers are given a similar basic education,

Online Research Skills
Introduction
Technology has revolutionized the realm of education through increasing the number of sources and methods of
research (Cottrell, 2013). The accessibility of online–based research platforms has created an avenue for students to
have ultimate desire to learn and eventually become qualified scholars. Research and more especially educational
research open the heart and minds of students to greater inventions; hence, creating a better and accomplished society.
Accessibility of information through online searches will not only create an excellent platform for research, but also
increase the intrinsic motivation and desire for students to learn; hence, become ideal citizens. The aim of the essay is
to help educators understand the implications Online Research Skills have on the classroom. Learning institutions have
embarked on creating online facilities where students can access information through internet via the World Wide Web.
The remote access in various parts of the globe makes it possible for students to study irrespective of their location and
the geographical areas. However, guidance is paramount when students choose various sources of research found
online. Some sources are credible while others may not meet the standards of Academia, and this explains why
educators should provide adequate directions.

The Four Primary Ethical Principles
The Four Primary Ethical Principles in Human Research
Psychology is the scientific study of behavior and mental processes (Feldman, 2013, p.5). The simplistic definition is
actual very complex, as it includes a persons thought, emotions, perceptions, reasoning process, memories, and their
biological activates that maintain their bodily functions (Feldman, 2013, p.5). Psychologists use the scientific method in
order to describe, predict, and explain human behavior (Feldman, 2013, p.5). This is done to achieve an understanding
of what or why a person does what they do, in order to help people improve their lives, with out the need for
speculation.
The ways Psychologist are able to understand and help patients is from the study of psychology. The study of
psychology is done through many ways, observational learning, experiments, case study, correlations, and research, just
to name a few.
Since Psychology involves the study of humans, it is important to understand the ethical principles that must me
adhered too, in order to not violate the participants, animals, the psychologist and the study of psychology as a whole.
The Belmont Report is the governing factor that identifies the ethical principles and guidelines for the protection of

for Persons, Beneficence, and Justice. The four primary ethical principals in psychology with human beings, is derived

Ethical: Research and Manufacturing Company
Ethical 1
Is it ethical for a manufacturing company that wishes not to be identified as the sponsor of a mail survey to invent the
name of a fictitious research company and print the name on the letterhead paper used for the survey?
I do not think it is ethical for a manufacturing company to invent a fictitious research company. I think 3 things that are
not good can come from it. The first thing is the manufacturing company might not have the expertise in surveys.
Second is there a point to the survey or to test loyalties. Third is the amount of distrust that comes from creating a
fictitious company. If distributors ever learn about this then there can be major problems with trust and relationships.

thought that music within a grocery store might have an impact on customers. Specifically, he thought that customers
might stay in the store longer if slow, easy–to–listen–to music were played. After some serious thought, he started

shopper behavior.
Independent variables are expected to determine the outcomes of interest. Dependent variables are the outcomes
interest to the researcher and the decision makers. (Zikmund, Babin, Carr, & Griffin, 2010).
The dependent variable refers to the status of the 'effect '(or outcome) in which the researcher is interested; the
independent variable refers to the status of the presumed 'cause, ' changes in which lead to changes in the status of the

Evidence and Examples of the Four Learning Outcomes
ENG 3010 is an intermediate writing course that prepares students for reading, research, and writing. Students develop
writing skills in their own discipline or professional communities by analyzing texts, evidence and writing conventions
(Bell, 2014). Four course learning objectives provide a foundation in which by the end of the semester a final research
paper is produced with a narrowed definitive focus on a particular subject. Each writing assignment is designed to
develop a particular area of growth, how specific communities shape texts and functions, how writing and research
creates knowledge, and how to analyzing a particular topic in your field of discipline or profession while producing a

greater audience by including videos of what they are doing in Mosfell as well as some footage of them excavating.
They do not offer programs for students to learn any methods in the archaeological field. I believe the intended the
audience for the Mosfell website is for other archaeologists and for people interested in the Viking culture. I believe the
purpose is to find more people who would like to help out with their intended research. This project is not competing
with time because as of now no one is trying to destroy it. However, this area is very important to find out more about
the Vikings. This area is fundamental for this research and is worth protecting to ensure every piece linking to better
knowledge of these people is found and saved. After reviewing this project I believe the quality of work is really good
there was a lot of work put into the project, and the potential for public use I think is also good because it can cause an
increase in visitation to the area which in turn increases Ireland's incoming money. I do not see any reason for
threatened nature and believe that heritage of any area is highly important.

Use of the Observational Method in Qualitative Research Essay
Introduction
For a century, researchers in many disciplines and fields have widely used the approach known as qualitative research
in their studies. There are many definitions of qualitative research that have been provided. Following are some of the
definitions of qualitative research:
"Qualitative research is a research strategy that usually emphasizes words rather than quantification in the collection
and analysis of data." (Bryman, 2008, p.366).
"Qualitative research is an umbrella term for an array of attitudes towards and strategies for conducting inquiry that are
aimed at discovering how human beings understand, experience, interpret, and produce the social world."
(Sandelowski, 2004, p.893).

Role of observational data and key characteristics of the processes of data collection and analysis.
Observational data is one of the basic and oldest method to collect data used by the researchers in their daily activities
during the research. Patton has defined observation method as a "descriptions of activities, behaviours, actions,
conversations, interpersonal interactions, organisation or community processes or any other aspect of observable human
experience." (2002, p.4). By describing and recording all the data gathered from the observation, observational data can
shows a comprehensive description of the incident and provides an insight to the scenario or setting. Observational data
can be gathered by selecting a site to be researched or observed in order to gain in depth understanding of the research.
At the site, researcher needs to carry out the observation in a very descriptive way. A very descriptive way means, the
researcher need to observer and describe in detail by describing the place (structure of the place, ambient, interior of the
room), and the people who are present during the research (number of people, behaviour, how they have dressed and
their mood at that time). Other than that, researcher also should elaborate and making notes about the scenarios and the

Managing Strategic Change at the Hmv Group
Managing Strategic Change At The HMV Group |
1. Introduction HMV Group announced a three year strategic and operational review in March 2007. The primary
purpose of this dissertation is to analyse the methods used to manage this strategic change and to discuss alternatives.
The secondary focus is to assess the decision to change. At a time of change, much focus is placed upon developing
strategy and not enough on the implementation and management side. It is possible that a 'perfect strategy' for a
situation is wasted by poor implementation. A specific strategy can be developed over night, however; successful
strategy implementation is a much longer process. In order to analyse HMV Group's change management efforts, it is

ParadoxThere are many paradoxical issues present in change management. Just one manifestation of this would be
middle managers withholding information they are given to disseminate because they wish to retain their
knowledgeable image; defeating the point of a middle manager. Michael E Raynor (2007) in his book entitled 'The
Strategy Paradox' presents the idea that a successful strategy requires the full commitment of the organisation, which
leads to unsuccessful performance overall; due to over commitment. Flood and Dresher's (1950) Prisoners' Dilemma,
applied to the world of business, will also conclude that non–competition is the most effective path in the long run.
Both imply that strong competition efforts eventually lead to failure – that mediocrity is the best route to follow as
companies have a silent agreement to operate in a state of equilibrium. However, in the case of HMV Group, its
operating industry is in decline; therefore failure is the only eventuality of a failure to compete. ContextAs identified
above, much of the literature on the subject of managing strategic change has an element of paradox attached to it. The
logical reason for this is that different methods depend on the circumstances the organisation is faced with. As there are
no exact laws of change management, this is what makes the subject complex; but more interesting. Most of the
literature aims to provide a theory for each and every eventuality;

White People's Perceptions on Divorce Essay
White People's Perceptions on Divorce
"White people's perceptions on divorce differ from those of Asian origin."
From living in a multi– cultural community it has become apparent to me through my experiences that divorce has
become more socially acceptable amongst white people then Asian people. I want to test and explore possible reasons
behind these evident changes in attitudes. I would also like to investigate the impact factors like secularisation and
legislation have had on Asian perceptions of divorce. The stigma that existed with divorce in the past, ceases to exist in
today's' society because divorce is an accepted norm. There is also a gap in relevant sociological research into ... Show

Ronald Fletcher gives one reason for rising divorce rates, however, there are numerous more, such as the reasons given
by Bryan Wilson. Wilson argues that the stigma and shame that existed with marriage in the 19th century ceases to exist
in today's society. According to Wilson, divorce has now become more socially acceptable because of a change in
attitude as part of a process of "secularisation". He states that religious ideas of marriage have lost their influence, and
authenticates this claim by stating that less then half of marriage ceremonies are religious, and of those that are, neither
the bride or groom are frequent church attendees.
Wilson talks about the impact of secularisation on people's perceptions and acceptance of divorce. Wilson, in his
research, defines secularisation as being the "process whereby religious thinking, practise and institutions lose their
social significance." Rising divorce rates are a sign that society is becoming more "tolerant" of divorce and
secularisation is seen as being one of the main factors for this.
However, secularisation has affected Asian communities differently. It does not appear to be a dominant feature in
Asian communities. Religion is stronger in southern Asian families. However, Wilson fails to acknowledge this. His
research can only

The Effect Of Vertical Separation Of Incumbent Firms
In order to answer the above question, we mist first outline what exactly is meant by 'vertical separation.' This is when a
two stages of one operation in a market becomes housed by two firms, however where one company is the monopoly
provider, the parent owner is also the provider of the complimentary good, the owner being the 'infrastructure manager'.
The incentive is to instil competition in the market. Alternatively, when a large company distributes various tasks or a
component of a goods production process into sections, either division or geographical, this is also known as vertical
separation.
The basic problem with this method is, being a natural monopoly allows the owner to prevent or restrict competition
due to the scale of market power dominance, as well as alter price, product quality, quantity and so on.
Structurally speaking, there are various management options open to the monopoly owner on how to designate the
segmented firms, such as vertical ownership, joint ownership etc.
To begin analysing the effect of vertical separation of incumbent firms and how well it stimulates competition within
that economy, we must firstly keep one idea in mind, and that is what effect would result from the industry or company
being managed as a single firm or being segmented into smaller, more focussed firms ie, separated.
Economic analyses of vertical separation of firms has lead to two main points regarding the outcome of such a method.
To begin with, the independent

minorities are treated differently within the education system is that it allows the researcher to join in. They will be
placed in the same situation that teachers find themselves in routinely, which will allow them to see things through the
teachers eyes. This means that the researcher will be able to see things from the same perspective as teachers. This
would allow the researcher to create a close bond with the teacher/s and this would mean that they would be more
likely to confide. This is particularly important as this is a sensitive subject area. Teachers may only show their true

It is conducted in real life and the researcher becomes part of this, so it can be generalised to the outside world.
When investigating teachers there are a number of practical issues that need to be taken into consideration. Teachers
may feel that they do not have the time to commit to taking part in a piece of research. Teachers may also need
permission from their line manager or more senior management to take part in any piece of research.
There are also a number of ethical issues that need to be taken into account when researching teachers. As participant
observation the researcher will have access to the staff room. Teachers in the staff room will feel like they are in a safe
environment to express their feelings. The researcher may hear things from teachers who have not given consent to take
part in the research. Does the researcher use this or remain ethical and ignore it?
There are also a number of theoretical issues to consider when researching teachers. The issue of teachers behaving
uncharacteristically because they have an observer in the classroom has already been discussed. In addition to this, any
teaching staff who take part may have been selected by senior members of staff to show the school in the best possible
light. This would make the findings unrepresentative and would mean that the findings would not be able to be
generalised to other educational settings.
This type of approach would be favoured by interpretivists.

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

ith a long and chequered history of education and training in pure and applied sciences dating back to over 2,600 years,
India has had flourishing tradition of scientific research and technological development. Taxila (6th century BC) one of
the earliest universities in the world, attracted students from across the continents. Major fields of study at Taxila
included mathematics, astronomy, medicine, surgery and metallurgy. Unfortunately, most of the knowledge was lost
during the medieval period. The glorious tradition of original thinking, adventure of ideas and creative innovations was

modern technology developed elsewhere without at the same time establishing modern science in the country as a live

Swot Analysis Of Bt's Debatescape
SWOT Analysis of BT's Debatescape
BT is one of the leading providers of communications solutions and services, operating in more than 170 countries.
Customer relationship management (CRM) is the main activity for BT that interacts with both residential customers and
commercial customers which constitutes BT Retail. With the launch of a number of initiatives that leverage web tools
to reach customers, including enhanced website offerings, dedicated discussion forums, and online community portals,
BT Group would like to turn into "the predictive enterprise." To align this vision, scientists within BT Research focused

The first problem was to find all of these customers who were expressing their "pain" on the web and then to allocate
their attention on to them. The second problem was to develop a process that operationalized the problem resolution
and made it traceable and scalable. To overcome these problems, Debatescape used powerful tools such as RSS feeds,
open application programming interfaces (APIs), and content–scraping tools to obtain and pool user–generated content
from online forums, blogs, and social networking sites such as Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. However, this content
needs to be classed in different categories. Debatescape uses a natural language analyzer to help classify the content
into various categories to be then sorted and sent to the correct customer service agent in either BT Consumer or BT

In order to effectively measure the specific behavioral outcomes after delivery of instruc–tion is made via digital media
devices, I will be using qualitative methods such as, observations and a focus group, to assess the gains being made,
and the behavioral outcomes that occur direct–ly after technology has been used by the student. Since autism is a
communication disorder it will be difficult to directly interview the participants. Therefore, I will ask a simple yes/no
question such as, "did you like it" to the participants and record each individuals answer. It is difficult to determine
what changes will need to be made until the study is underway.
Data Collection
The primary data collection method of this study is observations. I intend to reflect on my own beliefs daily, in order to
remain as objective as possible. Data collection conducted through observations alone can produce filtered results based
on the perspective of the observer. That is one of the issues that I anticipate to arise when conducting data collection.
That is why recon–naissance will be a necessary task before and after collecting observational data. With a concrete
definition of the term behavioral outcomes and daily reconnaissance, I believe this will provide me with an adequate
checks and balances and data management system for my research. Accord–ing to Gay, Mills, & Airasian, "By

The study will look at the "superbike" segment of Yamaha and focus on the Yamaha R1, a popular sports bike within
the superbike market. The term "innovation" is defined as a "change that creates a new dimension of performance"
(Drucker & Hesselbein, 2002) and in the context of this study it is both the element of change and the increase in
product performance which raises the questions, whether it is this element alone which fuels the success for sustaining
competitive advantage? Competitive advantage is defined as "a position that a firm occupies in its competitive
landscape" (Porter, 1985). Porter described the "position" as a situation whether sustainable or not as a point whereby
earnings exceed costs. This simple calculation suggests, according to Porter that ordinary competitive pressures are not
able to drive down the firms earnings to the point where they cover all costs and just provide sufficient additional return
to keep capital invested. The notion of "sustainability" is an area which is difficult to achieve here as the

Information Processing Models Essay
One of the AASL's standards for 21st century learners is [they will] "inquire, think critically, and gain knowledge" and

information. Finally, Evaluation entails judging the product for effectiveness and judging the process for efficiency.
(Wurster, 2011)
Librarians, teachers, and students can all benefit from the Big6™ process as it helps to identify goals, hunt for, use and
collect information and then reflect on that information with the presentation of the information. Teachers and librarians
benefit because they can use it at any grade level, with any subject, with any state or national standards, and it
complements any curriculum. Students benefit because the Big6™ assures they understand the assignment, complete
the project, assignment, or activity, and discuss the process. In addition, students can know if they missed a step of the
process, self–asses their work, recognize reliable information, cite sources, divide an assignment into easily managed
parts, and feel confident in their work. (Wurster, 2011)
Kuhlthau's Information Search Process (ISP)

The Biology Of Kindness : How It Makes Us Happier And...
Maria Szalavitz, a writer for the TIMES magazine, wrote a media article in the social connection section called The
Biology of Kindness: How It Makes Us Happier and Healthier. She said to stay physically and mentally fit you need to
have strong relationships. Strong relationships are as important as avoiding chronic diseases and risk factors leading to
those diseases. The information she referenced in the media article came from a study published in the Psychological
Science Journal. Maria Szalavitz first introduces the researchers, the professors, and the location where the research
took place. Then she explains the individuals facilitated in the experiment. Sixty five members of the university's
faculty and staff were in the study on meditation and stress. Half of the individuals randomly got assigned to take an
hour–long class each week for six weeks in "loving–kindness" mediation. This mediation centered on warm and
compassionate thoughts about yourself and others. In the class, participants thought compassionately about others by
thinking their own words, thoughts, feelings, and concerns of life. Then they would expand their thoughts to include
their social relationships with their families, friends, and anyone they had contact. The researchers taught people to
silently repeat phrases that would make them happier and cleanse their minds from negative beliefs. In stressful
situations, the instructor told the participants to say positive phrases to reassure themselves.

A virtuous circle. And BT will also use it to pay dividends to its shareholders and reward other stakeholders [BT

BT strategy is founded on broadening and deepening its customer relationships.
To deliver sustainable profitable revenue growth, BT needs stronger relationships with its customers. That means
making sure the company stay relevant to them as markets, lifestyles and technologies change.
The three pillars of BT's strategy help the company to do that: delivering superior customer service; transforming our
costs; and investing for growth. The better our customer service, the more the company sells and the less time and
money is spend in putting things right. And the better the company manages its costs, the better value for money BT
can offer to its customers and the more it invest in giving customers what they need – today and tomorrow. These are
the principles that drive BT business model [BT Report. 2017].
For 2017/18 BT's strategy is evolving. The three pillars remain broadly the same but with a wider focus on the overall
customer experience rather than just on customer service. And with the acquisition of EE limited, the company's
investment areas are evolving to focus on having the best integrated network in the UK and being a fully converged

Bt Corn Research Paper
Corn was one of many modifications made by humans nearly one decade ago. It started off with a grass teosinte that
they cross–pollinated with a plant to become a modern corn. Since farmer fields were becoming the ultimate target by
pesticides and needs were changing by the public, plant breeding was took to another level. Biotechnicians began
manipulating with the corn genetics to satisfy the needs of the farmers, and the global market (Gewin 015). Bt corn was
invented as a transgenic crop to help decrease the amount of pesticides feeding on the corn fields and increase
organism's size, height, and amount of kernels produced onto the corn. Bt is known as bacillus thuringiensis which is a
soil bacterium that kills certain insects spontaneously. Bacillus thuringiensis produces toxin crystal proteins that destroy
the inside of an pesticides gut after digesting a small portion of the bt corn. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The protein DNA needed for the corn was extracted from bacillus thuringiensis, then the single gene that codes for the
protein was copied and located out of all the DNA extracted from the cells. Once the single gene is cloned, the gene is
designed and modified by genetic engineers to function a certain way inside the plant. The enzymes are used to cut the
gene apart while a new gene enters to join the DNA bond. The genes are bonded back together creating a recombinant
DNA. The gene is inserted into the plant cell using one of the transformation methods. In order for the transgene to
function properly inside the plant it has to be in the cell's nucleus and into one of the chromosomes. When the cell
replicates and divides, all of the cell chromosomes including the new gene will be copied into the other plants creating

What I Learned About Research At An Introductory Level As...
Introduction
Within the eight weeks of this course, we learned a lot about psychological research. This course provided an
understanding of how research is completed. This course also gave an understanding of what methods to utilize based
on that particular research that is being conducted. In this paper I will discuss exactly what I learned about research at
an introductory level as a case study. In the field of mental health, professionals must be constantly looking for ways to
help their patients (Cozby & Bates 2015).
Ethics and Legal Issues in Research
I've learned that it's not necessarily what we find out from research but, where we gathered the information. We should
be careful with how we find out information. With all information gathered, we must also gather participants. It is
essential that those whom take on the role of scientific researcher of psychology that the guidelines of the American
Psychological Association's Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct be followed (Cozby & Bates,
2015, p. 47). Confidentiality and privacy is very important within research. Confidentiality is an issue when a
researcher has assured subjects that the collected data are only accessible to people with permission, generally only the
researcher (Cozby & Bates, 2015, p. 50). One major step to ensure proper treatment is to gather informed consents. An
informed consent allows all participants to understand all parts of research might influence their active decision of

Violence In Video Games and Aggression Essay
This question judges the social effects of a repetitive sequence of medial entertainment in relation to the increase in an
individual's aggressive behavior. The violence of today's video games are far more visually gruesome then they were
ten years ago. An example is the modern popular game Goldeneye 007, whose bad guys no longer disappear in a cloud
of smoke when killed. Instead they perform an elaborate maneuver when killed. For example, those shot in the neck fall
to their knees and then their face while clutching at their throats. These graphic games can increase an individual's
aggressiveness by portraying the act of a murder, as in Goldeneye 007. By answering this question, we can become
more aware and be able to identify possible ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Risky behavior by children and young adults can include violence against others or lack of remorse for consequences.
The type of faulty thinking creates stressors in children which can lead to the onset of many symptoms. Children who
partake in video game violence are more likely to have increased feelings of hostility, decreased emotional response to
the portrayal of violence, and injury that lead to violent behavior through imitation. A new study employing state–of–
the–art brain–scanning technology says that violent video games can cause an individual to become violent.
Researchers at the Indiana University School of Medicine say that brain scans of kids who played a violent video game
showed an increase in emotional arousal and a corresponding decrease of activity in brain areas involved in self–
control, inhibition, and attention. In short, when playing a violent game, an individual's brain processes the game
playing as "fictional", but later can project some of the unknown effects as violence or aggression.
How long does the aggression last? A study was conducted by Dr. Craig A. Anderson, Ph.D., of Iowa State University,
and his colleagues. They researched how children and teen's video game patterns related to their behavior three to six
months later. It included a mixed background of individuals ranging from ages 9 to 18 totaling 1,414 subjects. In one
group the subjects listed their 3 favorite games and

Effectiveness of Public Service Announcements
Introduction
Celebrity endorsements are one of the most famous methods of marketing used today. Celebrity endorsers are being
used in about 25% of all the advertisements that we can see on the television. Marketers are investing large sums of
money to have a contract with the celebrities as they believe that celebrities can affect the chances of success of a
product. (Erica Weintraub Austina*, 2008) Kiakati ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Petty and Cacioppo (1981) have developed the elaboration likelihood model of persuasion which explains the
peripheral route to persuasion and the central route. In the peripheral route, persuasive influences are more tangential to
the issues at hand. For egg– in a PSA targeted against smoking in youth, the peripheral route will show the teenagers
having a better sex life after quitting smoking. (William G. Shadel, January 2009) Central processing occurs when the
person at hand is aware about the main message of the PSA and is motivated to consider its content. We will analyze
the use of celebrities for both these routes of persuasion and try to find out the effectiveness in each case.
A PSA is usually not presented to the audience at the time of action. A PSA is supposed to make the audience think and
act on the message later. Thus human memory plays a very important role in the success of a PSA. (Shen, Monahan,
Rhodes, & Roskos–Ewoldsen, 2009) If the audience is attracted by a PSA, likes it but is not able to recollect it later the
whole exercise ends in futility. Many researchers have found that for the message to be effective, retained and used
highly credible sources of delivering the message have to be used and these sources of delivery should be able to create
a personal connect with the audience. (Joseph B. Walther1, 2010)In this context if we are using a public celebrity; he
has his own personality and a public image. We will try to

How to Write a Research Paper How To Write A Research Paper This guide covers research papers, and provides advice on forming a title for your research paper, how to plan your paper before you start, and filtering material for your research paper. What is a research paper? The terms 'research paper' and 'term paper' are frequently used interchangeably. However, the terms do not mean the same thing. 'Term paper' was used in the past exclusively to refer to the project (indeed research based) that was due at the end of a term, semester or quarter whereas 'research paper' had a more specific meaning, i.e. a paper written as a summary of research. Hence 'research papers' may be written at any level (before, during and after attending university), they may be published ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If you do this as you perform the research, you'll save yourself hours of time later on. Here are some research tips to get you started: RESEARCH STEP 1 * Form a list of keywords from your research paper's working title * Use a thesaurus to find words that mean the same thing as your list of keywords RESEARCH STEP 2 Most students will begin researching using the Internet and indeed, this is a great way to get ideas for your research paper. So start with Google, type in your keywords and bookmark the most relevant information sites that appear in relation to the issue. Then identify all current matters that relate to your issue from those sites. Note: Internet websites provide a fast source of up–to–date information but unfortunately they are not a reliable source. Use a search of the web as a starting point but unless the website is hosted and edited by a 'reliable' organization (such as the Government), don't rely on its contents as a source for your research paper. Find another means of verifying the information. RESEARCH STEP 3 Now you've identified a list of issues and current debates for your research paper, you need to find some quality source material. The first stage is to find the most recent books written about the issue you're researching. Whilst books are not as up–to–date as journals and articles, they will contain valid points–of–view that need to be considered. So where do you find books for your research paper? * ... The analysts wanted to observe the effect of the environment's reliability on the participants' decision making. The researchers wished to confirm or disprove their predictions that a child's perception of their environment will affect their decision making. They also wanted to test their prediction that children have not yet developed the ability to suppress there motive for prompt gratification. During the classic marshmallow task children were offered a choice between eating one marshmallow immediately or waiting and receiving a second. The study found that most children are unable to wait very long before deciding to eat the marshmallow they have in front of them. The results of the classic marshmallow task compelled them to postulate this hypothesis. From this definition, it is easy to understand why many pieces of academic research can lead into further business research . For this reason, the space between these dichotomies is not always a clear one. There can often be a grey area found between. An example of when research could fall into the grey area could be if a business were to conduct continuous research. Companies often use continuous research on a market, that has been developed specifically to better understand and to overcome market problems as they occur. Now is this academic research? As it is being peformed with no clear objective in mind. Or is it business research? As it is used to answer the companies questions specifically, when they arise. In this circumstance it is often the researchers responsibility to tailor and arrange their findings to coordinate with their needs. It is in this instant that the researcher ... (Denzin, 1989, p.12). The positivist researcher is not affected by the subject of the research because he makes generalizations. (Saunders, 2003 p. 83). When the investigator is a positivist, he tends to use methods like experiments, surveys and field studies to generate data. In this approach, the interviewer is more likely to be an outsider which means that the investigator does not have any relation with the study group. From the other point of view, interpretivism is about opinions, views and perceptions the people experience in every day life. For example, people interpretation happens according to the situation in which they experiences; which means the way

Both strategies requires the researcher to mine existing data sources; ―pull out‖ relevant data or information; summarize it; logically analyze and/or statistically treat it; and report results. In many instances, the issue, problem, question, etc. which prompted the idea for an evaluation study is resolved or answered by studying and reporting previous research reports in the literature or synthesizing, either logically, statistically, or both, data drawn from existing databases. The meta–analytical approach advocated by Glass (1976) includes the aggregation of relevant findings from empirical studies as summarized by the effect size, as well as an analysis of relevant variables which may operate on the dependent and/or independent variables of each empirical study included in the analysis. Suri describes advantages of the meta–analytic approach over the traditional narrative review; these include: (1) identification of effects, (2) analysis of operating moderating variables, (3) an explicit explanation and rationale for study inclusion criteria, and (4) the methodological flexibility to include a large number of empirical studies. Suri reports that criticisms include a tendency to over generalize findings, the potential to include poorly designed empirical studies, overreliance on published juried research, and ignoring studies where effect size isn't computed. D. Finally, Suri (2000) examines Slavin's (1986) best–evidence synthesis. 1. Slavin (1986) asserts that best–evidence synthesis, "is designed to draw on the strengths of each approach [traditional reviews and meta–analysis] and to avoid the pitfalls and characteristics of each‖ (pp. 5–6). The simplistic definition is actual very complex, as it includes a persons thought, emotions, perceptions, reasoning process, memories, and their biological activates that maintain their bodily functions (Feldman, 2013, p.5). Psychologists use the scientific method in order to describe, predict, and explain human behavior (Feldman, 2013, p.5). I ranked these different projects based on quality of work, potential for public use, threatened nature, and heritage importance. I first reviewed the Mosfell Archeological project in Iceland. This area will construct a vivid picture of the human and environmental change in southwestern Ireland. The purpose of this project is to find the prehistory and early history of the Mosfell region. Use of the Observational Method in Qualitative Research Essay Introduction For a century, researchers in many disciplines and fields have widely used the approach known as qualitative research in their studies. There are many definitions of qualitative research that have been provided. Following are some of the definitions of qualitative research: "Qualitative research is a research strategy that usually emphasizes words rather than quantification in the collection and analysis of data." (Bryman, 2008, p.366). "Qualitative research is an umbrella term for an array of attitudes towards and strategies for conducting inquiry that are aimed at discovering how human beings understand, experience, interpret, and produce the social world." (2002, p.4). At a time of change, much focus is placed upon developing strategy and not enough on the implementation and management side. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... ParadoxThere are many paradoxical issues present in change management. Just one manifestation of this would be middle managers withholding information they are given to disseminate because they wish to retain their knowledgeable image; defeating the point of a middle manager. Michael E Raynor (2007) in his book entitled 'The Strategy Paradox' presents the idea that a successful strategy requires the full commitment of the organisation, which leads to unsuccessful performance overall; due to over commitment. Flood and Dresher's (1950) Prisoners' Dilemma, applied to the world of business, will also conclude that non–competition is the most effective path in the long run. Both imply that strong competition efforts eventually lead to failure – that mediocrity is the best route to follow as companies have a silent agreement to operate in a state of equilibrium. However, in the case of HMV Group, its operating industry is in decline; therefore failure is the only eventuality of a failure to compete. ContextAs identified above, much of the literature on the subject of managing strategic change has an element of paradox attached to it. The logical reason for this is that different methods depend on the circumstances the organisation is faced with. As there are no exact laws of change management, this is what makes the subject complex; but more interesting. Most of the literature aims to provide a theory for each and every eventuality; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ronald Fletcher gives one reason for rising divorce rates, however, there are numerous more, such as the reasons given by Bryan Wilson. Wilson argues that the stigma and shame that existed with marriage in the 19th century ceases to exist in today's society. According to Wilson, divorce has now become more socially acceptable because of a change in attitude as part of a process of "secularisation". He states that religious ideas of marriage have lost their influence, and authenticates this claim by stating that less then half of marriage ceremonies are religious, and of those that are, neither the bride or groom are frequent church attendees. Wilson talks about the impact of secularisation on people's perceptions and acceptance of divorce. Wilson, in his research, defines secularisation as being the "process whereby religious thinking, practise and institutions lose their social significance." Rising divorce rates are a sign that society is becoming more "tolerant" of divorce and secularisation is seen as being one of the main factors for this. However, secularisation has affected Asian communities differently. It does not appear to be a dominant feature in Asian communities. Religion is stronger in southern Asian families. • 41. The Effect Of Vertical Separation Of Incumbent Firms In order to answer the above question, we mist first outline what exactly is meant by 'vertical separation.' This is when a two stages of one operation in a market becomes housed by two firms, however where one company is the monopoly provider, the parent owner is also the provider of the complimentary good, the owner being the 'infrastructure manager'. The incentive is to instil competition in the market. Alternatively, when a large company distributes various tasks or a component of a goods production process into sections, either division or geographical, this is also known as vertical separation. The basic problem with this method is, being a natural monopoly allows the owner to prevent or restrict competition due to the scale of market power dominance, as well as alter price, product quality, quantity and so on. Structurally speaking, there are various management options open to the monopoly owner on how to designate the segmented firms, such as vertical ownership, joint ownership etc. To begin analysing the effect of vertical separation of incumbent firms and how well it stimulates competition within that economy, we must firstly keep one idea in mind, and that is what effect would result from the industry or company being managed as a single firm or being segmented into smaller, more focussed firms ie, separated. Economic analyses of vertical separation of firms has lead to two main points regarding the outcome of such a method. To begin with, the independent ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In order to effectively measure the specific behavioral outcomes after delivery of instruc–tion is made via digital media devices, I will be using qualitative methods such as, observations and a focus group, to assess the gains being made, and the behavioral outcomes that occur direct–ly after technology has been used by the student. Since autism is a communication disorder it will be difficult to directly interview the participants. Therefore, I will ask a simple yes/no question such as, "did you like it" to the participants and record each individuals answer. It is difficult to determine what changes will need to be made until the study is underway. Data Collection The primary data collection method of this study is observations. I intend to reflect on my own beliefs daily, in order to remain as objective as possible. Data collection conducted through observations alone can produce filtered results based on the perspective of the observer. That is one of the issues that I anticipate to arise when conducting data collection. That is why recon–naissance will be a necessary task before and after collecting observational data. With a concrete definition of the term behavioral outcomes and daily reconnaissance, I believe this will provide me with an adequate checks and balances and data management system for my research. Accord–ing to Gay, Mills, & Airasian, "By observing the classes, you will obtain much more objective information that can be compared to the self–reports of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The term "innovation" is defined as a "change that creates a new dimension of performance" (Drucker & Hesselbein, 2002) and in the context of this study it is both the element of change and the increase in product performance which raises the questions, whether it is this element alone which fuels the success for sustaining competitive advantage? Competitive advantage is defined as "a position that a firm occupies in its competitive landscape" (Porter, 1985). Porter described the "position" as a situation whether sustainable or not as a point whereby earnings exceed costs. This simple calculation suggests, according to Porter that ordinary competitive pressures are not able to drive down the firms earnings to the point where they cover all costs and just provide sufficient additional return to keep capital invested. The notion of "sustainability" is an area which is difficult to achieve here as the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Information Processing Models Essay One of the AASL's standards for 21st century learners is [they will] "inquire, think critically, and gain knowledge" and "follow an inquiry– based process in seeking knowledge in curricular subjects, and make the real–world connection for using this process in [his/her] own life." (ALA, 2007, p. 4) Three research process models that help students make independent choices, ask questions, find resources, and discover information are the Big6™, Kuhlthau's Information Search Process, and I–Search. Synthesis takes into account organizing from multiple sources and presenting the information. Finally, Evaluation entails judging the product for effectiveness and judging the process for efficiency. (Wurster, 2011) Librarians, teachers, and students can all benefit from the Big6™ process as it helps to identify goals, hunt for, use and collect information and then reflect on that information with the presentation of the information. Teachers and librarians benefit because they can use it at any grade level, with any subject, with any state or national standards, and it complements any curriculum. Students benefit because the Big6™ assures they understand the assignment, complete the project, assignment, or activity, and discuss the process. In addition, students can know if they missed a step of the process, self–asses their work, recognize reliable information, cite sources, divide an assignment into easily managed parts, and feel confident in their work. Maria Szalavitz, a writer for the TIMES magazine, wrote a media article in the social connection section called The Biology of Kindness: How It Makes Us Happier and Healthier. She said to stay physically and mentally fit you need to have strong relationships. Strong relationships are as important as avoiding chronic diseases and risk factors leading to those diseases. The information she referenced in the media article came from a study published in the Psychological Science Journal. Maria Szalavitz first introduces the researchers, the professors, and the location where the research took place. Then she explains the individuals facilitated in the experiment. Sixty five members of the university's faculty and staff were in the study on meditation and stress. Half of the individuals randomly got assigned to take an hour–long class each week for six weeks in "loving–kindness" mediation. This mediation centered on warm and compassionate thoughts about yourself and others. In the class, participants thought compassionately about others by thinking their own words, thoughts, feelings, and concerns of life. Then they would expand their thoughts to include their social relationships with their families, friends, and anyone they had contact. The researchers taught people to silently repeat phrases that would make them happier and cleanse their minds from negative beliefs. In stressful situations, the instructor told the participants to say positive phrases to reassure themselves. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 65. Bt Corn Research Paper Corn was one of many modifications made by humans nearly one decade ago. It started off with a grass teosinte that they cross–pollinated with a plant to become a modern corn. Since farmer fields were becoming the ultimate target by pesticides and needs were changing by the public, plant breeding was took to another level. Biotechnicians began manipulating with the corn genetics to satisfy the needs of the farmers, and the global market (Gewin 015). Bt corn was invented as a transgenic crop to help decrease the amount of pesticides feeding on the corn fields and increase organism's size, height, and amount of kernels produced onto the corn. Bt is known as bacillus thuringiensis which is a soil bacterium that kills certain insects spontaneously. Bacillus thuringiensis produces toxin crystal proteins that destroy the inside of an pesticides gut after digesting a small portion of the bt corn. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The protein DNA needed for the corn was extracted from bacillus thuringiensis, then the single gene that codes for the protein was copied and located out of all the DNA extracted from the cells. Once the single gene is cloned, the gene is designed and modified by genetic engineers to function a certain way inside the plant. The enzymes are used to cut the gene apart while a new gene enters to join the DNA bond. The genes are bonded back together creating a recombinant DNA. The gene is inserted into the plant cell using one of the transformation methods. In order for the transgene to function properly inside the plant it has to be in the cell's nucleus and into one of the chromosomes. When the cell replicates and divides, all of the cell chromosomes including the new gene will be copied into the other plants creating a transgenic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 75. What I Learned About Research At An Introductory Level As... Introduction Within the eight weeks of this course, we learned a lot about psychological research. This course provided an understanding of how research is completed. This course also gave an understanding of what methods to utilize based on that particular research that is being conducted. In this paper I will discuss exactly what I learned about research at an introductory level as a case study. In the field of mental health, professionals must be constantly looking for ways to help their patients (Cozby & Bates 2015). Ethics and Legal Issues in Research I've learned that it's not necessarily what we find out from research but, where we gathered the information. We should be careful with how we find out information. With all information gathered, we must also gather participants. It is essential that those whom take on the role of scientific researcher of psychology that the guidelines of the American Psychological Association's Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct be followed (Cozby & Bates, 2015, p. 47). Confidentiality and privacy is very important within research. Confidentiality is an issue when a researcher has assured subjects that the collected data are only accessible to people with permission, generally only the researcher (Cozby & Bates, 2015, p. 50). One major step to ensure proper treatment is to gather informed consents. An informed consent allows all participants to understand all parts of research might influence their active decision of ... • 79. Violence In Video Games and Aggression Essay This question judges the social effects of a repetitive sequence of medial entertainment in relation to the increase in an individual's aggressive behavior. The violence of today's video games are far more visually gruesome then they were ten years ago. An example is the modern popular game Goldeneye 007, whose bad guys no longer disappear in a cloud of smoke when killed. Instead they perform an elaborate maneuver when killed. For example, those shot in the neck fall to their knees and then their face while clutching at their throats. These graphic games can increase an individual's aggressiveness by portraying the act of a murder, as in Goldeneye 007. By answering this question, we can become more aware and be able to identify possible ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Risky behavior by children and young adults can include violence against others or lack of remorse for consequences. The type of faulty thinking creates stressors in children which can lead to the onset of many symptoms. Children who partake in video game violence are more likely to have increased feelings of hostility, decreased emotional response to the portrayal of violence, and injury that lead to violent behavior through imitation. A new study employing state–of– the–art brain–scanning technology says that violent video games can cause an individual to become violent. Researchers at the Indiana University School of Medicine say that brain scans of kids who played a violent video game showed an increase in emotional arousal and a corresponding decrease of activity in brain areas involved in self– control, inhibition, and attention. In short, when playing a violent game, an individual's brain processes the game playing as "fictional", but later can project some of the unknown effects as violence or aggression. How long does the aggression last? A study was conducted by Dr. Craig A. Anderson, Ph.D., of Iowa State University, and his colleagues. They researched how children and teen's video game patterns related to their behavior three to six months later. It included a mixed background of individuals ranging from ages 9 to 18 totaling 1,414 subjects. In one group the subjects listed their 3 favorite games and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Celebrity endorsers are being used in about 25% of all the advertisements that we can see on the television. Marketers are investing large sums of money to have a contract with the celebrities as they believe that celebrities can affect the chances of success of a product. (Erica Weintraub Austina*, 2008) Kiakati ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Petty and Cacioppo (1981) have developed the elaboration likelihood model of persuasion which explains the peripheral route to persuasion and the central route. In the peripheral route, persuasive influences are more tangential to the issues at hand. For egg– in a PSA targeted against smoking in youth, the peripheral route will show the teenagers having a better sex life after quitting smoking. (William G. Shadel, January 2009) Central processing occurs when the person at hand is aware about the main message of the PSA and is motivated to consider its content. We will analyze the use of celebrities for both these routes of persuasion and try to find out the effectiveness in each case. A PSA is usually not presented to the audience at the time of action. A PSA is supposed to make the audience think and act on the message later. Thus human memory plays a very important role in the success of a PSA. (Shen, Monahan, Rhodes, & Roskos–Ewoldsen, 2009) If the audience is attracted by a PSA, likes it but is not able to recollect it later the whole exercise ends in futility. Many researchers have found that for the message to be effective, retained and used highly credible sources of delivering the message have to be used and these sources of delivery should be able to create a personal connect with the audience.
