2. OBJECTIVES
Identify feelings
/ reactions
related to the
pandemic /any
form of
disaster.
• Accept that all
feelings and
reactions are
normal and
valid.
3. A. Recall
Sharing: Ask the learners to
briefly share the impact of the
pandemic to the education and
their experiences during lockdown
(2020-2021).
4. B. MOTIVATION
2. On the y-axis, write the
numbers 25, 50, 75 and 100
to represent the percentage
of time that you were feeling
that way. Rate each
emotion/feeling based on
how much or how often you
would feel that way over the
past few months/weeks/days.
• Ask some students to
share their graphs and talk
about it for a short while.
• Let them compare their
feelings to the feelings written
inside the box.
• Let the students create
a graph of
feelings/emotions that
they have or may have
had during all the crisis
situations that they
experienced.
1. On the x-axis, write
down each of the
feeling and emotions.
5. C. Discussion of Concepts
• Let the students read the information entitled Common Reactions of Students to Stressful Events
(page 41) of SEES manual.
6. D. Developing Mastery
Ask the students:
1. Were there feelings that
you also felt but that you
were not able to mention in
your graph?
2. What is the common
feeling/s to the usual routines
of your everyday life?
3. What are your shared
human experiences of Covid-
19 or of the disaster that hit
your town? Are they similar?
Are they dissimilar?
4. Now that you have
recognized your common
humanity, what did you feel?
• Tell the students that they can
empathize and accept each
other because all the reactions
are all normal to stressful
situations.
• Explain to the students that all
their feelings and reactions are
valid. It is okay not to be okay.
All the emotions are real and
true. They are normal because
other people may also share
the same feeling/s but the
intensity of feelings is uniquely
yours.
• Let the
students tell
themselves
“All these
are normal
feelings.
Normal ang
pakiramdam
ko.”
7. E. Application and
Generalization
• Remind the students that their
reactions to stressful situation are normal
now or until three months. Most young
people will react in the same manner. They
are not being crazy when they have those
feelings and the next time, they feel that
way, try to take ten deep breaths….
Slowly… and try to do letter writing and
send the letter to your close friends.
Ask the
students: How
do you feel now
about yourself?
• Let the
students do the ten
deep breathes,
count 1-10 as you
breathe in and out.
• Let the
students answer the
following questions:
1. Today that
you learned that our
reactions to the
stressful events of
Pandemic or any other
form of disaster were
normal and valid. What
did you realize after
this topic? How do
these new learnings
enlighten you in this
pandemic time?
2. How can
you apply this learning
to your life especially
after experiencing such
a pandemic?
