Essay on President George W. Bush
President Bush – A Liar, a Thief, and a Criminal Contents Intro Unprecedented History of Bush Bush as President Facts Conclusion Bibliography
The purpose of this essay is to expose George W. Bush as the fraud he is. From rigging the 2000 presidential election, to waging war on a country that
had no connection to the 9/11 bombings on the World Trade Centre Twin Towers. George Bush must be shown for what he really is– a liar, a thief,
and a criminal. This essay will go into detail about what Bush is currently doing, how he "won" the 2000 Presidential Election, and what he did
before he was president It was a sunny day in Florida, and as the votes were counted from the controversial "Butterfly Ballot", George... Show more

During his time as governor, he executed 153 people, many of whom were mentally disabled. Since the year 2000 when he became president, Bush
has become the most hated person on the planet. Over 80% of Canadians don't like him, over 75% of Australians don't like him, and 87% of America
hates him. He set the all time record for most people protesting against one person simultaneously (10 million). Here are some facts about Bush: 1.
Under Bush there are now 43 million Americans with no health insurance 2. Responsible for an unemployment rate of 6%. There are now 9 million
people out of work in America – 3.3 million more than when Bush took office 3. He cut health care benefits for veterans 4. Despite a 13%
unemployment rate among those aged 16–24, Bush proposed to eliminate Youth Opportunity Grants– A program that provides job training to the
nation's youth. A $225 million program in 2002 is now being done away with so Bush can have more money for Iraq 5. He cut funding for 375000
low income college students and reduced Pell Grant amounts to such a severe degree that it effectively caused 84000 students to no longer be legible
for Pell Grants. Pell amounts have been overall reduced for 1.5 million students 6. He withdrew from the International Criminal Court 7. First president

President Bush 9/11 Rhetorical Analysis
Bush 9/11: Rhetorical Analysis President Bush's speech regarding the 9/11 terrorist attack, directed towards American citizens, can be an example of
resilience in our united nation against evil for the world to witness and implement. The presidential speech reinforces the strength of the American
nation and its citizens. George Bush stands proud as he remarks, "These acts shattered steel, but they cannot dent the steal of American Resolve". In his
reference to the steal of the destroyed Twin Towers, he is claiming that although the buildings may be fragmented, the foundation of America will not
break. The steel analogy exemplifies a powerful nation. The United States of America received its name precisely for the reasoning of unity. Our

George .W. Bush and Barrack Obama two of America's great presidents, both filled with their individual ambitions and charisma. These prominent
presidents have ruled the most powerful country in the world using their different strategies and policies. George Bush, a republican was the 43rd
president of America had two terms in power (cite). On the other hand Barrack Obama the first black president of America and a democrat was his
successor. He is known for his charisma. Notwithstanding, their various good leadership skills and the criticisms, Obama has been a better and more
successful president United States than George Bush. Despite the fact that his presidency being criticized for being a failure he has done a good job
so far. Obama is showing promise in his policies trying fix the problems that were created by past American presidents in terms of handling the
domestic and foreign policies.
George Bush and Barrack Obama had similar domestic policies. They both had similar policies in terms of health reforms. Bush introduced the No
child left behind Act an educational bill (Wroe, A., & Herbert, J., 2009).This legislation mandates students testing and ties federal funding to the results;

Weaknesses And Strengths Of The President George W Bush
To be a leader is no easy task. You are faced with complex decisions that affect others wellbeing, and sometimes lives. The leader with the single most
responsibility for others would be the President. Therefore, analyzing his decision regarding 9/11 are a very daunting task. However, from a managerial
standpoint I plan to examine his strengths and weaknesses, the alternative resources he utilized, and decision–making strategies. Former President
George W Bush has a ton of strengths. He is a well–educated man, and the first president to obtain an MBA degree from Harvard Business School in
1975. On multiple occasions, he was calm and collected. The very first one being when he first found out about the attacks on the world trade centers,...

It is because of being surrounded by such people that he can then trust them enough to handle difficult tasks; therefore, enabling him to delegate
necessary work. When a colleague was asked about his leadership style he confirmed "Bush is a delegator who leans heavily on trusted advisors"
(Roberto, Cariogia 2002). When he can delegate he creates a support system to help him with decisions. He also gave staff a lot of room to grow;
by not getting bogged down with details. By giving the staff some freedom to brainstorm on their own, he can trust them to add to a goal he has in
mind. This also requires him to be an avid listener, and not always just talk. This allows for more time for thought, and fair consideration of
everyone's ideas. As far as things Bush could improve upon, from a managerial standpoint, there is not many. There are only two things that come
to mind. One, was his ability to be influenced by what I believe was deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz's opinion to invade Iraq. While
Bush chose to wait a brief amount of time before doing that, I do believe he allowed someone else's agenda to be push to the forefront. Second, along
those same lines, I believe because he trusted others so much he did not do his own amount of due diligence. It is the leader's responsibility to make
sure information obtained is accurate, and trustworthy, before using it to make a decision. These are the

George Bush: The World's First President
From September eleventh to his handling of hurricane Katrina and the invasion of Iraq, there is an abundance of crisis related information we can use
to judge, define, and sum President Bush's leadership. Nevertheless, through his contribution to various cultures, leadership, and social outreach
intervention programs President Bush excellently portrayed what it means to be a world president and humanitarian.
As President, George Bush made fulfilling his citizenship responsibilities a priority. Hence, due to the fact that he was commander in chief, everything
he did came with its degree of controversy or judgment. As President of a powerhouse nation, it was his responsibility not only to engage in the various
cultures of the United ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although he allowed each individual state and school district to design their curriculum, they still had to adhere to national standards. Hence, President
Bush impacted childhood education not only on a state and local level, but also nationally.
In addition to No Child Left Behind, President Bush also pushed for economic growth in a time of economic turmoil. His hope was to grow the
economy and to raise living standards in the United States. Thus, by passing the "4% growth project," President Bush targeted "real and sustainable"
GDP growth that would create "good jobs for Americans, reduce the burden of government debt, and greatly increase prosperity (George W. Bush)."
Hence, his economic growth project not only benefited the United States economy, but the world economy. As a world power, other nations depend on
the health of the United States economy in order to operate efficiently.
Furthermore, President Bush's civic engagement shone through his buttressing of global health and human freedom. Instantly gripped by the
expansive "Freedom Wall," we are reminded–through the images of soldiers greeting children–how President Bush championed domestic and global
freedom. By enacting his "Freedom Agenda," President Bush encouraged future presidents and congresses to "continue leading the cause of freedom
worldwide (NSDP–58)." Hence, President Bush sought to "advance liberty" by enacting the "National Security Presidential

President Bush 9/11 Speech Analysis
First looking at President Bush's speech, the overall situation being shared throughout this piece of work is that the incident of 9/11 was a
devastating tragedy and we should always remember it as a reason for why we should continue to stay strong and surpass the limit. Although Bush
never did say all this, but he reflected the idea in we should never feel at complete sorrow whenever we remember this incident, but instead, feel the
need to improve and advance to prevent this act of terrorism. It is never a wise choice to sorrow over a problem and leave it untouched. Ever since the
incident of 9/11, the United States of America has excelled and advanced ever since in order to prevent future terror–influenced acts. Obama's speech
has a very similar claim shared through his piece of work also, but it revolves more around the death of Osama Bin Laden and the benefits that
proceed it. After claiming another important character, America begins to feel more at ease ever since the incident of 9/11. To be honest, ever since
the incident of 9/11, America has been striving with new recruits and at advancing their military so we can never ever feel the same disparity we had
on September 11, 2001. These are just a few of the benefits from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order to prevent this or something similar from happening again, we need to improve our military and by doing that is through more recruits and
improving our technology to handle the situation more efficiently. Since 9/11 caused great disparity for America and its citizens and if the only way to
annihilate an extreme emotion like disparity is to improve our character and break through the impenetrable barrier, then improving America and
everything that concerns it is the only way to prevent a situation like this that can cause great disparity from happening

President Bush And The Declaration Of Independence
The resilience of the American people has been seen for decades, even before gaining our independence from the British. Our nation as a whole is
not easily deterred; there is no challenge or obstacle too big for Americans to overcome. Over our whole existence as a country, that statement has
held true, no tragedy or rivalry has been able to damage that. "Address to a Joint Session of Congress and the American People" by President Bush
and "The Declaration of Independence" by Thomas Jefferson are examples of Americans overcoming trials and tribulations to come together as a
whole. In "Address to a Joint Session of Congress and the American People" President Bush as our leader at the time was ready to defend our values
established in the "Declaration of Independence". President Bush conveyed the values present in the declaration by using his authority to levy war,
restore tranquility, and bring justice to the American people, he newly establishes the tolerance of our nation towards other religions and other views,
however not toward the destruction of our country, and the declaration is initially created for the freedom of solely our country, in this speech he
builds upon the declaration and appeals to the freedom of the world.
During the time this speech was delivered by President Bush, fear was deeply embedded in our nation after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, therefore
President Bush related his speech to the "Declaration of Independence" in order to strengthen our nation to

President Bush And The President Of The United States
The uproar of who should be the next President of the United States came in full swing April 2014. While the Republican Party jumped to an early
start by making trips to the early voting states of Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina, the Democratic Party lingered on the sidelines. The
Republican Party started with seventeen candidates, yet the Democratic Party had only three. However, after the Iowa Caucus, one of the Democratic
candidates dropped, leaving only two candidates remaining. Those two candidates are Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders. As the race progressed
sixteen of the Republican Party candidates dropped, leaving only Donald Trump. With estimated polls, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump would be the
two candidates in the 2016 presidential election. Clinton has over thirty–five years of political experience, yet Trump has only business experience, so
the decision of who should run the country should be chosen carefully. Although the Republican Party believes Donald Trump should be the next
President of the United States, the Democratic Party nominated Hillary Clinton as the best candidate because she has the most accurate solutions for
solving some of the main issues in the United States, such as gun control, immigration, and education. Clinton and Trump have two different views on
one of the most important issues facing the U.S–gun control. To argue the issue of gun control, Trump presents the Second Amendment. Trump
believes there should be no gun–free

Who Is George W. Bush A Good President
The Presidency of George W. Bush
I. Introduction
Former President George H.W. Bush once said that his son, George W. Bush, "faced the greatest challenge of any President since Abraham Lincoln."
The challenge that this statement refers to is the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and Flight 93 on September 11, 2001,
known worldwide as 9/11. George W. Bush's responses to the attack included a global "War on Terrorism," the creation of the Department of
Homeland Security, and the U.S. led wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, rendering him a wartime President. Before these significant events, George W.
Bush started as a businessman before launching his political career, similar to his father and grandfather. George W. Bush also spent a period of time
serving in the Texas Air National Guard during the Vietnam War. After his service, George W. Bush worked in the oil industry, like his father had. He

Bush first announced that he was seeking the Republican nomination for President in June of 1999. Some of his most notable rivals for the
nomination include Elizabeth Dole, a former President of the American Red Cross and wife of infamous Bob Dole, Steve Forbes, publisher of the
Forbes Magazine, Alan Keyes, a former Department of State official, and John McCain, a U.S. Senator from Arizona. Senator McCain had won the
first primary election in February of 2000. By the time that the March primaries had ended, George W. Bush had already won enough delegates to
secure the Republican nomination. The Republican National Convention was held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in August of 2000 where George W.
Bush was officially named the Republican presidential nominee. Upon Bush's request, delegates nominated Richard B. Cheney, a former congressman
and Secretary of Defense under Ronald Reagan for Vice President. George W. Bush's opponent in the 2000 election was Al Gore and his running mate,

War and Deception
The responsibilities of a presidential administration to the United States should be easily defined, but in many instances have come to be uncertain.
There are two wars over the last century that have compromised the American reputation, as well as the integrity of our people. On these two occasions
the intentions of our president have been something different than publicized to the country. TheUnited States as a whole was deceived by two particular
leaders and their administration. Through propaganda, selective speech, and exaggerated evidence, Presidents Lyndon Johnson and George W. Bush
manipulated the support of the nation for their bold military actions and personal agendas. In August of 1964 there was an alleged attack by ... Show

The purpose of the Vietnam War was to stop communist expansion and to protect South Vietnam from attacks by North Vietnam and rebels within
South Vietnam who hoped to unite the two countries under communism (Nelson, 488). This war was one of the most excruciating experiences in
American history. It left us wounded and deflated as a superpower. Americans' view of their country after a loss and embarrassment like this one was
now ruined. No one president is entirely responsible for the development of this war, but Johnson was the first to send combat troops to Vietnam. Years
later, after learning the deception of the Johnson administration, blame may be placed more upon Johnson and his manipulation of Congress and the
public by publicizing a threat to our security that never existed. The administration took advantage of Congress and exaggerated or simply created an
attack on the U.S. as an excuse to use military action on North Vietnam. Daniel Ellsburg, a government insider and a State Department civilian during
the Vietnam War, stole, copied and published the Pentagon Papers. The Pentagon Papers were a top secret study of the U.S. decision making in
Vietnam. Ellsburg worked closely with the presidential administration during the war and was sent to Vietnam for two years to observe the war and
evaluate the "pacification" of the countryside (Ellsburg, VIII). Immediately after returning from Vietnam he began to do everything in his power

President Bush 9/11 Speech Analysis
Looking back on this speech after many years (listening to it and reading it), it is far easier to see and understand the political maneuvering that
was going on in the speech. President Bush and his team very astutely knew how to manipulate the situation to get the desired effect. He used
terms like, murderous ideologies, "a fringe movement that perverts the peaceful teachings of Islam", terror network that is global and many others
to define the enemy as "evil" (Bush). He made sure everyone understood this evil was a world issue without a single country being responsible but
an ideology that was directly contrary to peace and freedom. This of course makes his statement of being with us or with terrorists all the more
effective: forcing every country in the world to be civilized and stand with America or allow terror to go unpunished and threaten all ways of life
(Bush). In doing this, he made it clear fighting terrorism was a world issue and every country should take a stand. Know, so many years later,
terrorism is still an evil many nations are struggling to defeat. The war on terror continues.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From this speech, the administration was able to laws changed and money allocated for the war. As of this speech, an entire new department came into

some civil liberties. However, with the wording in the speech, short–term inconveniences and such, he was able to make it seem necessary to the people
(Spring and Parker, 126). Bush's speech in 2001, brought a nation together and made giving up some conveniences and freedoms acceptable for a sort

another undetermined location. This tragic event happened on September 11, 2001 and it shocked the entire nation and other countries across the
World. President George W. Bush addressed the American people on the night of the attacks. He then addressed Congress on September 20, 2001. In

Essay on President Bush and FISA
The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 was a necessary measure signed by President Jimmy Carter in an effort to stop the CIA, FBI, NSA,
and other executive powers from conducting warrantless wiretaps of domestic groups for so–called national security purposes. This was necessary
because findings by the Church Committee in the early 1970s suggested that warrantless wiretapping had been going on for quite some time by these
government entities and was exacerbated by President Nixon and the Watergate scandal. This bill not only set a future precedent for how surveillance
should be conducted, but also attempted to set a standard for what "good" and "bad" surveillance were defined as. FISA did not face any substantial
challenges... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These problems that President Bush encountered where in fact very similar to the problems that the Carter administration predicted would surface
when they were drawing up the bill in the late 1970s. Carter and other executive members brought up many valid concerns that included physical
searches, overseas surveillance, communications intelligence, and how much power to give to the president (Carter Memo 2). The version of FISA
proposed in 1978 was in itself a solid piece of legislature. Over the years, many amendments have been made to it that have slowly surrendered its
power and allowed to the executive branch to create loopholes in which to continue warrantless surveillance where and when they see it fit. For this
reason, the FISA process of requiring review by a special court is still viable, but does need some adjustments that allow it to stand similarly to its
original form. Since the passing of FISA came after a widespread finding of warrantless wiretapping by a number of different government entities,
Congress along with the Carter administration, needed to carefully craft a bill that not only reconciled national security needs to conduct domestic
surveillance, but also continued to protect individual liberties such as that of the first and fourth amendments. The once top–secret Carter
administration memos regarding FISA offer a first–hand glimpse at the thinking that went into

President Machiavelli Bush Essay
President Machiavelli Bush George W. Bush, our current President, must keep a copy of Machiavelli's most celebrated work, "The Prince "(1513),
on his desk in the Oval Office. In my opinion, Bush and his administration's actions mimic Machiavelli's advice to the Prince on the tactics that he
should use to stay in power. I am going to discuss how President Bush uses Machiavellian principles. My first example is of Bush's "War on Terror".
In 2001, the President stated that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction and Saddam was going to use them against the U.S. and other
nations even though he did not have concrete proof . He also said Iraq had ties to Al Quaida and this was a threat to our security and the security... Show

Yet, it is only the appearance of religion that is helpful . George Bush claims that not only is he saved, but is called upon by God to political office.
He also uses extensive references to scripture during his public speeches and he promises to bring freedom "as a gift from the Almighty" to
benighted regions of the world like the Middle East. His so called strong morality and grounding in faith was one of the major reasons for his
widespread public appeal, and according to some estimates, they are among the most important factors in the 2004 election(Urban, #130). This
"good ole boy" painted a virtuous image of himself that the people loved and he has quickly fallen from grace after being in office for two terms. His
positive popularity diminished, not only in the United States, but all over the world as well. I found the following fact interesting: a poll conducted in
Britain named Bush the second biggest "threat to world peace" after Bin Laden, beating North Korean president Kim Jong–il (Wikipedia, #203). I guess
appearance isn't everything. The last comparison I will make is the Patriot Act and the fear that it created in the American public. The Patriot Act was
passed immediately after 9/11. It was meant to protect American's and to obstruct acts of domestic terrorism. The act gave the government the right to
invade American's privacy by increasing the ability of law enforcement agencies have to

President Obama 's President Bush Essay
Incumbent politicians spend their time in office voting on legislation to benefit their constituents, crafting legislation to fit party principles, building a
reputation for reelection, and crafting a legacy that will ensure them a spot in history. President Obama's choice to act unilaterally in signing the Paris
Agreement solidifies his legacy by finally putting into effect an international agreement that has been a work–in–progress for two decades. The
Republican–ruled Congress has been opposing what they claim to be a "war on coal" since President Obama made climate change a focus of his
second term. Obama's bypass of Congressional approval for the Paris Agreement, an agreement many see as a treaty, will strain Congressional/
Executive relations for terms to come by encouraging members of Congress to be cautious of unilateral actions while encouraging the President to take
advantage of them. The Paris Agreement is made up of 195 nations who plan to cut their greenhouse–gas emissions in an attempt to slow down the
increase in the global temperature. President Obama's decision to sign this agreement does not only promote his personal climate change legacy but the
climate change legacy of the United States of America. Since this environmental pact is only legally binding when "at least 55 countries representing
55 percent of global emissions sign on," a United States signature could very well be the difference between a revolutionary global climate change
policy and

What Makes George W Bush A Good President
Bush's Presidency American citizens only vote every four years on who their new President will be. The citizens usually pick between a Republican,
and a Democratic candidate. Even though the elections are held in November, the winner is not sworn into office until January. Some Presidents do a
better job of governing our country than others. President George W. Bushwas elected 43rd President of the United States of America in 2004.
According to the biography, "George W. Bush was transformed into a wartime president on the airborne attacks the day of September 11, 2001."
President George W. Bush was born in New Haven, Connecticut while his father, George H.W. Bush, was a student at Yale and served in World War
II. George W. Bush moved to Midland, Texas with his family when he was around 10. There he met and later married Laura Welch. They had twin

President George Bush 's No Child Left Behind Act Of 2007
Politics have made up a large part of public education in the United States of America since Anglo–Saxons came over from Europe. The effects that
politics and governmental policies have had on public education have been evident throughout the history of the United States and are still apparent
today. Beginning with assimilation and acculturation in the 17th century and continuing on to programs such as President George Bush's No Child
Left Behind Act of 2001 and the Mississippi Healthy Students Act of 2007, it is clear that governmental policies have and will always affect public
education in the United States. As many European settlers made America their new home, their main goal was to assimilate Natives and create a
country based off of their strong Catholic beliefs. Native Americans were torn from their cultures and were forced to learn the ways of the Europeans.
Public schools first began in America when the Anglo–Saxons created schools for Native American children to be stripped from their own cultures and
hurled into that of the Europeans.
While times changed in America, the effects of government policies on public education only became stronger. Robert N. Gross discusses the rising of
parochial schools in the progressive era due to the effects governmental influences in public schools in his article "Public Regulation and the Origins of
Modern School–Choice Policies in the Progressive Era". Gross says:

administration was given a fair warning prior to the attack, however, rather than preventing this devastation from happening, they did nothing to stop it,
traumatizing America. Bush risked the safety of his people when he did nothing to intercept the terrorist plans on America. Another reason regarding
the failure of President George W. Bush was how as president, his main purpose was to bring in al–Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, who was behind

President George W. Bush's policies on the environment helped make a great president. He made a call to reduce arsenic from drinking waters, and
also lessened the amount of air pollution from diesel trucks. He decided to remove arsenic from drinking waters to help make us healthier and keep
the bad chemicals out of our bodies. During Bush's presidency the country had faced an energy supply crisis. He came up with a plan to add to the
amount of oil production for the crisis helping us get through that time. His next plan was to slow down or possibly stop the amount of pollution, with

Bush, as well as our society, feels the president should be strong– especially in international politics and policies. When the United States was attacked
September 11, 2001, the people looked to the president to lead, and in essence, seek revenge. On both of these levels of domestic considerations, we
will never know to exactly what extent they influence the president's choice of action, but they help us in understanding some of the foreign policy
decisions. Going beyond the individual to the expectations of the position, the role consideration plays an influential domestic part in the response to an
external event and ultimately foreign policymaking. Furthermore to do this, Bush's administration has outlined some specific objectives. Allies are
crucial to conduct foreign operations, so the Bush has joined several international organizations that allow it to serve at the forefront of international
policy. Some of the more famous ones are the United Nations, which is the biggest organization and has many sub–level organizations, the World Trade
Organization, the World Health Organization, the International Monetary Fund, and the World Bank Group (Directory of Economic, Commodity and

President Obama, President Bush, And Bush Essay
Eloquently conveying thoughts to the masses is no simple task. It entails more than just a clever arrangement of words, or a refined set of diction.
Speeches are far more intricate than that. Since speeches are a profound form of communication that is essentially used to grasp an audience, moving

George Bush : The Effective President
GEORGE BUSH: THE LEAST EFFECTIVE PRESIDENT
IN U.S. HISTORY
MR. STERE

CLARKE HIGH SCHOOL
George Walker Bush, the former President of the United States, was not the hero that many people to this day believe he is– on the contrary, Bush is
considered by numerous individuals do be the worst effective president in the history of the United States of America. Many ordinary Americans
that live in states like Washington, Georgia, and Florida regard Bush as the greatest president in the history of the United States of America. In their
minds, regardless of any controversy, he did it all. Bush won several wars that had been ongoing for many years, solved conflicts between various
parties as quickly as he could, and fearlessly advocated for the American people and the rights that they deserved as ordinary American citizens. In the
eyes of his loyal subjects (and subsequently, political supporters), President Bush was a political figure that few people could hope to compare
themselves to. However, George Walker Bush harbors a dark side within himself, an empty void that indicts curiosity into the mind of the blissfully
unaware reader. This seemingly impregnable fortress of happiness and content that the President portrays is often no more than a façade when it
comes to the dealings of Mr. Bush during his tenure as the President of the United States. Unfortunately, George Walker Bush is not the dogmatic
crusader that many people believe that he is

1990, President George H.W. Bush went to the Persian Gulf region with his wife and top congressional leaders at Thanksgiving time to visit the
400,000 troops gathered in Saudi Arabia, whom he sent there to protect that country from an Iraqi invasion. When the President arrived, he was greeted

The United States relationship with Saudi Arabia is one that begun on February 14, 1945 when President Franklin Delano Roosevelt met King Al–Saud
at the Great Bitter Lake in the Suez Canal. After World War II the United States became the most influential foreign power in Saudi Arabia. US's main
interest was focused in the direction of the oil industry. Then in 1960 Saudi Arabia was one of the main driving forces in the creation of the
Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC). During the Cold War, Saudis favored the United States while the two also continued to but
heads over the issue concerning the ever present Israeli–Arab conflict. Americas constant support for Israel has, and will continue to be an issue that
brings about confrontation between the Saudis and the United States. Foreign relation ties never were as intense as they were during the Persian Gulf
War. Iraq's invasion of Kuwait posed a potential threat to the Saudis provoking the United States to intervene. The Saudis allowed the United States to
have access to their bases during this time. Since that time, our troops have remained there which is something that has led to much controversy

Every four years on January 20th the President of the United States of America is sworn to office. This event has been a tradition since 1937.
Recently our 45th President Donald Trump swearing into office took place at the U.S Capitol on Friday January 20, 2017. All of the Presidents have
given an inaugural speech to the nation, and the world. These speeches mark the beginning of a new path that America takes in the following four
years. There have been short and long speeches, such as George Washington's and William Harrison, respectively. Each speech marks a trend that let
Americans infer the path in which the President plans to take the country. In this paper, one will compare and contrast the path President Trump wants

Trump's speech has one characteristic, unusually specific promise, which is to "no longer accept politicians who are all talk and no action,
constantly complaining but never doing anything about it." (line 81) One can infer that this might be a warning to other politicians (even his own),
to do a good job, and it can also be seem as a challenge to himself. The challenge that President Trump has now is to see if his campaign slogan can be
transformed into a governing agenda. President Clinton's inaugural speech his purpose was to reassure American people about their voting choice, and
he also echoed the foundations in which America lies. One can see how he used persuasion to assure government effectiveness. He stated "to renew

President George W. Bush
Throughout the years we have had some great United States presidents and some terrible ones. When we elect a president, we want someone who will
improve our country and stabilize our economy. However, many presidents do not accomplish this during their term and end up causing the opposite
effect to happen. One president who is on the list of presidents that made the country worse and our economy decline is George W. Bush. He was the
United States president from 2001 to 2009. George W. Bush was one of the worst United States presidents for many reasons, but the top three on
my long list are first and foremost his decision to start the war on Iraq, second his support of the Military Commissions Act, and last but not least his
handling of the Hurricane Katrina disaster. President George W. bush made the decision to go to war with Iraq just months after the 9/11 terror
attacks on the United States. There is evidence that shows Bush was after Saddam Hussain from day one of his presidency. Paul O'Neill claims that
Bush started constructing arrangements for the invasion of Iraq within days of Bush's inauguration. Bush denied these claims and discredited O'Neill
by declaring he was a dissatisfied employee who was dismissed by the White House and that O'Neill had no reliable comprehension of U.S. foreign
policy. The Iraqi National Congress argues that soon after Bush's inauguration, Bush contacted them to discuss how to remove Hussein from power,
which confirms O'Neill's allegations

George W. Bush was born in New Haven, Connecticut on July 6, 1946. Just like other presidents, he had his good times and his bad times. He was the
forty–third president of The United States. Because of those who had preceded him in The Oval Office, he understood the importance of being the
Commander in Chief. In all of the events that happened during his presidency he never gave up on his country (Biography; Gale: Vol 21). The Bush
family moved to Texas when George was only two years old. George Herbert Walker Bush, George's father, had just graduated from Yale and wanted
to attempt a living in the oil business. The family moved to a rough part of Texas called Odessa, and though times were not always easy , it eventually

He became the president of the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity and enjoyed drinking, playing football, and dating. His grades were not his main
priority (Biography; Gale: Vol. 21). Bush admired his history professor Thomas T. Lyons at Yale. This admiration led George to major in history.
George had very little intellectual curiosity and was not interested in politics. However, some of his classmates believe that being a stickball
commissioner and the head cheerleader were pre– political experiences. While he was a well known figure, there were many times he faced conflicts
at school for being a male cheerleader, and some agree that this prepared him for the world of politics. Bush himself claims that his student activities
qualified him for the White House. After he attended Andover, he persistently demonstrated the same leadership: "not a powerful intellect or dazzling
policy but rather an exceptional ability to make friends, work a crowd, cheer people up and take them all in his direction" (The New York Times
Company). When he was the governor of Texas, he worked with both Democrats and Republicans, and built successful coalitions which led him to
become a popular leader without becoming engaged in policy details (The New York Times Company). George Bush, the forty

President George W. Bush believed that if a country had a choice of which government it would choose, it would be a democracy. He believed that

many critics tried to justify his actions as control. Many individuals tried to justify that President Bush's intentions were to control the Middle East,

Comparing the Foreign Policy of Presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton Towards North Korea
Since its creation after the Korean War in 1950, North Korea, also known as the Democratic People Republic of Korea (DPRK), has caused many
problems for the United States. North Korea has, for instance, broken treaties and even gone so far as to threaten the use of nuclear weapons. Naturally,
different presidents have dealt with North Korea in different ways. Take Eisenhower for example, he actually threatened the use of nuclear weapons
against North Korea in 1953 (obviously before North Korea had nuclear capabilities). Many presidents ignored North Korea all together, and some tried
to ignore the country, but circumstances did not allow ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He mentions that Clinton never made any talk about North Korea during his first presidential campaign in 1992. However, Clinton very quickly
figured out he would have to deal with North Korea when fears starting to arise that they were generating materials for nuclear weapons with their
small nuclear reactor in Yongbyon. Clinton, in response to these fears, decided to start military training exercises, known as Team Spirit, in South
Korea. This flexing of military muscle prompted North Korea to threaten to pull out of the Non Proliferation Treaty (NPT). After some negotiations
North Korea agreed to pull back on their threat of withdrawing from the NPT. This led Clinton to reward North Korea for its reversal by not
considering any trade sanction or military actions against the DPRK. Things started growing worse though as the fear that North Korea had nuclear
capabilities grew. Leading the fears along was the fact that the dictator of North Korea at the time, Kim Il Sung, was blocking nuclear inspectors from
reaching the nuclear reactors they wanted to inspect. Furthermore, it was later concluded by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) that
North Korea did indeed have nuclear capabilities. These new developments brought the United States to the brink of war with North Korea. Before
shots, or rockets in this case, could be fired an agreement known as the Agreed Framework was signed on October 21, 1994. Among other things in this

Rhetorical Analysis Of President Bush 's Speech
On September 11, 2001, America was attacked by members of an Islamic extremist group resulting in the deaths of over three thousand people,
including more than four hundred firefighters and police officers. Needless to say the people of America were both frightened and confused, looking to
their leader President George W. Bushto offer comfort and guidance during this dark time, and President Bush responded with an inspiring speech
full of hope, Indeed President Bush's speech was a powerful and immediate response to the events of that terrible day because he was not only able to
capture the emotions of his country, but also because he was able to form a call to action for his country, reassuring them of his will and ability to
protect America and retaliate for the horrific events of that day. He utilized important elements of rhetoric including ethos, logos, and pathos. The ethos
of President Bush's speech is mostly lost in his text, as it largely stemmed from the imagery of the moment. His immediate response to the attacks
demonstrates that he is a qualified and responsive leader, but the most effective initial establishment of his ethos was the image spread throughout the
country: President Bush in the oval office with both the American and Presidential flags surrounding him, a patriotic image to say the least. He still
manages to establish ethos through the text of the speech by establishing himself as a strong leader who is quick to action. In his address he states:

President Bush PEPFAR Report
President George W. Bush is known as a born–again Christian and framed the U.S. President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) in response
to his religious base (Jappah, 315). President Bush's PEPFAR efforts improved the United States health care infrastructure and institutional capacity
with a premeditated aim to change sexual practices and behaviors. PEPFAR collaborated with Nigerian government agencies, local and international
non–governmental organizations and faith–based organizations (FBOs) as well as United States government agencies and universities to implement
HIV/AIDS relief programs (Jappah, 2013). The enactment of global AIDS relief by the Bush Administration was partly in response to pressure from
evangelical Christian groups in the United States to respond to the epidemic (Jappah, 2013). President Bush's HIV/AIDS response had religion as a

The Bush Administration's preference for faith based organizations (FBOs) was partly explained by local dynamics along with structural and political
limitations in Nigeria and other African bureaucracies (Jappah, 2013). An important principle of PEPFAR practices had been the distrust of
governmental sectors and confidence on non–governmental such as FBOs (Jappah, 2013). President Bush's administration focused on Nigeria as the
framing of HIV/AIDS as a social problem resulting from immorality reflected a common view that the nation's most rooted social problems are
resulted from moral corruption (Jappah, 2013). President Bush was criticized by liberal thinkers and advocacy groups regarding to President Bush's

September 11, 2001 will forever mark a permanent scar on our nation's history. It marks the day our nation lost thousands of lives as well as ravishing

day that our nation came together as one. Putting aside all differences politically and socially, September 11 is the day our nation mourned as one. On
the same day, our former president George W. Bushformulated one of his most memorable speeches. He not only took this moment to address the

Bush opens and closes his speech with the theme of unity. He uses a commoratio to dwell on and emphasize the tragedy the nation had just faced.
He opens his speech with, "These acts of mass murder were intended to frighten our Nation into chaos and retreat, but they have failed. Our
country is strong." He thus continuously works to empathize with the audience and to feel for the loss of thousands of families by using charged
diction such as "unyielding anger," "despicable acts," and "terrible sadness." After backing up his opening statement with several reasons and
emotional examples, he reiterates the same theme of unity by ending with, "This is a day when all Americans from every walk of life unite in our
resolve for justice and peace." Unity, nation, and America are the three themes that Bush works to engrave in each American. He tries to assure us
that no attack can be so detrimental to break apart the nation for good. Although this nation is filled with social and political differences, Bush
employs mythos to adhere to all the different cultures. He opens his speech by addressing "our fellow citizens," "our way of life," and "our very
freedom." By opening with these words, Bush considers the cultures and different lives of every American. The use of inclusive and cohesive diction
helped Americans from all across the nation come together as one on that tragic day. Towards the end of this speech he

9/11 Address to The Nation George W. Bush was the 43rd president of the United States. In one speech he answered the 9/11 attacks on the World
Trade Center, the Pentagon, and a possible attack on the White House by saying "our strong country" ("George W. Bush– Address to the Nation on
9–11–01 Speech"). Bush did this by telling the country what he first would immediately did following the attacks. Bush then stated what he will be
doing continuously after the attacks for future prevention against more attacks. President Bush also thanked all those who were on the planes that

Success of President George W. Bush
Being one of only two President whose fathers were former President, George W. Bush had big shoes to fill. To establish himself as a separate
person, Bush did his best to publicly distance from his families privilege life. Although this in did not apply to all aspects of his presidency, Bush
handled both foreign and domestic affairs in a way he thought to be most successful for the nation. Entering into his first term as President, Bush had
some domestic changes. He severed America's ties with international health programs that penalized the practice of abortion and limited government
funding to go towards embryonic stem cells research. While the disuse of abortion and embryonic stem cells was viewed as successful by the unborn
child, it angered many Americans, especially knowing that scientists believed the cure to Parkinson's and Alzheimer's diseases could be found
through embryonic stem cells. To the pleasure of oil companies, Bush advocated for a new oil exploration of the coast of Alaska in the Arctic National
Wildlife Refuge and allowed his Vice President to negotiate his administration's energy policy with large oil companies during "closed–door" meetings.
However, this and a number of other harmful acts angered environmentalists, including the rejecting Kyoto Treaty which would have limited
greenhouse gas emissions. Perhaps his largest affect on domestic affairs was the $1.3 trillion dollar tax cut, which turned out to be unsuccessful as the
federal surpluses from

President Obama And President Bush
President Barack Obama and President George W Bush are two extremely different politicians with different political backgrounds and beliefs in
different political ideologies. Between both two term administrations some of their most scrutinized issues focused on the topic of foreign policy.
President Obama and Bush had to deal with continuous threats and problems arising from the tumultuous political climate of the Middle East. The
way each president saw it fit to eliminate the problems was quite different as, President Bush often saw it more appropriate to use military force in the
intervention of these issues, where as President Obama is more likely to take a diplomatic approach before resorting to military intervention.
Regardless of these differences both presidents are ultimately trying to achieve the same goal which is to achieve peace for the United States and
continue the American prosperity. The grand strategy of President of Bush foreign policy was to promote the spread of American democratic principles
throughout the rest of the world and liberate those who are oppressed under non democratic regimes. In order to accomplish these foreign policy goals
the Bush administration needed to exert a maximum display of force which was often achieved through military intervention. In the first term of
President Bush administration one of the most daunting tasks faced with the implementation of the foreign policy strategy was how America could

Essay On President George W. Bush

  • 1. Essay on President George W. Bush President Bush – A Liar, a Thief, and a Criminal Contents Intro Unprecedented History of Bush Bush as President Facts Conclusion Bibliography The purpose of this essay is to expose George W. Bush as the fraud he is. From rigging the 2000 presidential election, to waging war on a country that had no connection to the 9/11 bombings on the World Trade Centre Twin Towers. George Bush must be shown for what he really is– a liar, a thief, and a criminal. This essay will go into detail about what Bush is currently doing, how he "won" the 2000 Presidential Election, and what he did before he was president It was a sunny day in Florida, and as the votes were counted from the controversial "Butterfly Ballot", George... Since the year 2000 when he became president, Bush has become the most hated person on the planet. Over 80% of Canadians don't like him, over 75% of Australians don't like him, and 87% of America hates him. He set the all time record for most people protesting against one person simultaneously (10 million). Here are some facts about Bush: 1. Under Bush there are now 43 million Americans with no health insurance 2. Responsible for an unemployment rate of 6%. There are now 9 million people out of work in America – 3.3 million more than when Bush took office 3. He cut health care benefits for veterans 4. Despite a 13% unemployment rate among those aged 16–24, Bush proposed to eliminate Youth Opportunity Grants– A program that provides job training to the nation's youth. A $225 million program in 2002 is now being done away with so Bush can have more money for Iraq 5. He cut funding for 375000 low income college students and reduced Pell Grant amounts to such a severe degree that it effectively caused 84000 students to no longer be legible for Pell Grants. Pell amounts have been overall reduced for 1.5 million students 6. He withdrew from the International Criminal Court 7. • 2. President Bush 9/11 Rhetorical Analysis Bush 9/11: Rhetorical Analysis President Bush's speech regarding the 9/11 terrorist attack, directed towards American citizens, can be an example of resilience in our united nation against evil for the world to witness and implement. The presidential speech reinforces the strength of the American nation and its citizens. George Bush stands proud as he remarks, "These acts shattered steel, but they cannot dent the steal of American Resolve". In his reference to the steal of the destroyed Twin Towers, he is claiming that although the buildings may be fragmented, the foundation of America will not break. The steel analogy exemplifies a powerful nation. The United States of America received its name precisely for the reasoning of unity. Our ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The more successful president: Barrack Obama Versus George Bush Nachamada Roya Simon Professor Fragiskatos Political Science 102E 579 250798336 November 24 2014 2000 words George .W. Bush and Barrack Obama two of America's great presidents, both filled with their individual ambitions and charisma. These prominent presidents have ruled the most powerful country in the world using their different strategies and policies. George Bush, a republican was the 43rd president of America had two terms in power (cite). On the other hand Barrack Obama the first black president of America and a democrat was his successor. He is known for his charisma. Notwithstanding, their various good leadership skills and the criticisms, Obama has been a better and more successful president United States than George Bush. Despite the fact that his presidency being criticized for being a failure he has done a good job so far. Obama is showing promise in his policies trying fix the problems that were created by past American presidents in terms of handling the domestic and foreign policies. George Bush and Barrack Obama had similar domestic policies. They both had similar policies in terms of health reforms. Bush introduced the No child left behind Act an educational bill (Wroe, A., & Herbert, J., 2009).This legislation mandates students testing and ties federal funding to the results; low performing schools would not have their ... • 4. Weaknesses And Strengths Of The President George W Bush To be a leader is no easy task. You are faced with complex decisions that affect others wellbeing, and sometimes lives. The leader with the single most responsibility for others would be the President. Therefore, analyzing his decision regarding 9/11 are a very daunting task. However, from a managerial standpoint I plan to examine his strengths and weaknesses, the alternative resources he utilized, and decision–making strategies. Former President George W Bush has a ton of strengths. He is a well–educated man, and the first president to obtain an MBA degree from Harvard Business School in 1975. On multiple occasions, he was calm and collected. The very first one being when he first found out about the attacks on the world trade centers,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is because of being surrounded by such people that he can then trust them enough to handle difficult tasks; therefore, enabling him to delegate necessary work. When a colleague was asked about his leadership style he confirmed "Bush is a delegator who leans heavily on trusted advisors" (Roberto, Cariogia 2002). When he can delegate he creates a support system to help him with decisions. He also gave staff a lot of room to grow; by not getting bogged down with details. By giving the staff some freedom to brainstorm on their own, he can trust them to add to a goal he has in mind. This also requires him to be an avid listener, and not always just talk. This allows for more time for thought, and fair consideration of everyone's ideas. As far as things Bush could improve upon, from a managerial standpoint, there is not many. There are only two things that come to mind. One, was his ability to be influenced by what I believe was deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz's opinion to invade Iraq. While Bush chose to wait a brief amount of time before doing that, I do believe he allowed someone else's agenda to be push to the forefront. Second, along those same lines, I believe because he trusted others so much he did not do his own amount of due diligence. It is the leader's responsibility to make sure information obtained is accurate, and trustworthy, before using it to make a decision. These are the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. George Bush: The World's First President From September eleventh to his handling of hurricane Katrina and the invasion of Iraq, there is an abundance of crisis related information we can use to judge, define, and sum President Bush's leadership. Nevertheless, through his contribution to various cultures, leadership, and social outreach intervention programs President Bush excellently portrayed what it means to be a world president and humanitarian. As President, George Bush made fulfilling his citizenship responsibilities a priority. Hence, due to the fact that he was commander in chief, everything he did came with its degree of controversy or judgment. Although he allowed each individual state and school district to design their curriculum, they still had to adhere to national standards. Hence, President Bush impacted childhood education not only on a state and local level, but also nationally. In addition to No Child Left Behind, President Bush also pushed for economic growth in a time of economic turmoil. His hope was to grow the economy and to raise living standards in the United States. Thus, by passing the "4% growth project," President Bush targeted "real and sustainable" GDP growth that would create "good jobs for Americans, reduce the burden of government debt, and greatly increase prosperity (George W. Bush)." Hence, his economic growth project not only benefited the United States economy, but the world economy. As a world power, other nations depend on the health of the United States economy in order to operate efficiently. Furthermore, President Bush's civic engagement shone through his buttressing of global health and human freedom. Instantly gripped by the expansive "Freedom Wall," we are reminded–through the images of soldiers greeting children–how President Bush championed domestic and global freedom. By enacting his "Freedom Agenda," President Bush encouraged future presidents and congresses to "continue leading the cause of freedom worldwide (NSDP–58)." • 6. President Bush 9/11 Speech Analysis First looking at President Bush's speech, the overall situation being shared throughout this piece of work is that the incident of 9/11 was a devastating tragedy and we should always remember it as a reason for why we should continue to stay strong and surpass the limit. Although Bush never did say all this, but he reflected the idea in we should never feel at complete sorrow whenever we remember this incident, but instead, feel the need to improve and advance to prevent this act of terrorism. It is never a wise choice to sorrow over a problem and leave it untouched. Ever since the incident of 9/11, the United States of America has excelled and advanced ever since in order to prevent future terror–influenced acts. Obama's speech has a very similar claim shared through his piece of work also, but it revolves more around the death of Osama Bin Laden and the benefits that proceed it. After claiming another important character, America begins to feel more at ease ever since the incident of 9/11. To be honest, ever since the incident of 9/11, America has been striving with new recruits and at advancing their military so we can never ever feel the same disparity we had on September 11, 2001. These are just a few of the benefits from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 7. President Bush And The Declaration Of Independence The resilience of the American people has been seen for decades, even before gaining our independence from the British. Our nation as a whole is not easily deterred; there is no challenge or obstacle too big for Americans to overcome. Over our whole existence as a country, that statement has held true, no tragedy or rivalry has been able to damage that. "Address to a Joint Session of Congress and the American People" by President Bush and "The Declaration of Independence" by Thomas Jefferson are examples of Americans overcoming trials and tribulations to come together as a whole. In "Address to a Joint Session of Congress and the American People" President Bush as our leader at the time was ready to defend our values established in the "Declaration of Independence". President Bush conveyed the values present in the declaration by using his authority to levy war, restore tranquility, and bring justice to the American people, he newly establishes the tolerance of our nation towards other religions and other views, however not toward the destruction of our country, and the declaration is initially created for the freedom of solely our country, in this speech he builds upon the declaration and appeals to the freedom of the world. During the time this speech was delivered by President Bush, fear was deeply embedded in our nation after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, therefore President Bush related his speech to the "Declaration of Independence" in order to strengthen our nation to ... • 8. President Bush And The President Of The United States The uproar of who should be the next President of the United States came in full swing April 2014. While the Republican Party jumped to an early start by making trips to the early voting states of Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina, the Democratic Party lingered on the sidelines. The Republican Party started with seventeen candidates, yet the Democratic Party had only three. However, after the Iowa Caucus, one of the Democratic candidates dropped, leaving only two candidates remaining. Those two candidates are Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders. As the race progressed sixteen of the Republican Party candidates dropped, leaving only Donald Trump. With estimated polls, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump would be the two candidates in the 2016 presidential election. Clinton has over thirty–five years of political experience, yet Trump has only business experience, so the decision of who should run the country should be chosen carefully. Although the Republican Party believes Donald Trump should be the next President of the United States, the Democratic Party nominated Hillary Clinton as the best candidate because she has the most accurate solutions for solving some of the main issues in the United States, such as gun control, immigration, and education. Clinton and Trump have two different views on one of the most important issues facing the U.S–gun control. To argue the issue of gun control, Trump presents the Second Amendment. Trump believes there should be no gun–free ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Who Is George W. Bush A Good President The Presidency of George W. Bush I. Introduction Former President George H.W. Bush once said that his son, George W. Bush, "faced the greatest challenge of any President since Abraham Lincoln." The challenge that this statement refers to is the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and Flight 93 on September 11, 2001, known worldwide as 9/11. George W. Bush's responses to the attack included a global "War on Terrorism," the creation of the Department of Homeland Security, and the U.S. led wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, rendering him a wartime President. Before these significant events, George W. Bush started as a businessman before launching his political career, similar to his father and grandfather. George W. • 10. War and Deception The responsibilities of a presidential administration to the United States should be easily defined, but in many instances have come to be uncertain. There are two wars over the last century that have compromised the American reputation, as well as the integrity of our people. On these two occasions the intentions of our president have been something different than publicized to the country. TheUnited States as a whole was deceived by two particular leaders and their administration. Through propaganda, selective speech, and exaggerated evidence, Presidents Lyndon Johnson and George W. Bush manipulated the support of the nation for their bold military actions and personal agendas. In August of 1964 there was an alleged attack by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The purpose of the Vietnam War was to stop communist expansion and to protect South Vietnam from attacks by North Vietnam and rebels within South Vietnam who hoped to unite the two countries under communism (Nelson, 488). This war was one of the most excruciating experiences in American history. It left us wounded and deflated as a superpower. Americans' view of their country after a loss and embarrassment like this one was now ruined. No one president is entirely responsible for the development of this war, but Johnson was the first to send combat troops to Vietnam. Years later, after learning the deception of the Johnson administration, blame may be placed more upon Johnson and his manipulation of Congress and the public by publicizing a threat to our security that never existed. The administration took advantage of Congress and exaggerated or simply created an attack on the U.S. as an excuse to use military action on North Vietnam. Daniel Ellsburg, a government insider and a State Department civilian during the Vietnam War, stole, copied and published the Pentagon Papers. The Pentagon Papers were a top secret study of the U.S. decision making in Vietnam. Ellsburg worked closely with the presidential administration during the war and was sent to Vietnam for two years to observe the war and evaluate the "pacification" of the countryside (Ellsburg, VIII). • 11. President Bush 9/11 Speech Analysis Looking back on this speech after many years (listening to it and reading it), it is far easier to see and understand the political maneuvering that was going on in the speech. President Bush and his team very astutely knew how to manipulate the situation to get the desired effect. He used terms like, murderous ideologies, "a fringe movement that perverts the peaceful teachings of Islam", terror network that is global and many others to define the enemy as "evil" (Bush). He made sure everyone understood this evil was a world issue without a single country being responsible but an ideology that was directly contrary to peace and freedom. This of course makes his statement of being with us or with terrorists all the more effective: forcing every country in the world to be civilized and stand with America or allow terror to go unpunished and threaten all ways of life (Bush). In doing this, he made it clear fighting terrorism was a world issue and every country should take a stand. However, with the wording in the speech, short–term inconveniences and such, he was able to make it seem necessary to the people (Spring and Parker, 126). • 13. Essay on President Bush and FISA The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 was a necessary measure signed by President Jimmy Carter in an effort to stop the CIA, FBI, NSA, and other executive powers from conducting warrantless wiretaps of domestic groups for so–called national security purposes. This was necessary because findings by the Church Committee in the early 1970s suggested that warrantless wiretapping had been going on for quite some time by these government entities and was exacerbated by President Nixon and the Watergate scandal. This bill not only set a future precedent for how surveillance should be conducted, but also attempted to set a standard for what "good" and "bad" surveillance were defined as. FISA did not face any substantial challenges... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These problems that President Bush encountered where in fact very similar to the problems that the Carter administration predicted would surface when they were drawing up the bill in the late 1970s. Carter and other executive members brought up many valid concerns that included physical searches, overseas surveillance, communications intelligence, and how much power to give to the president (Carter Memo 2). The version of FISA proposed in 1978 was in itself a solid piece of legislature. Over the years, many amendments have been made to it that have slowly surrendered its power and allowed to the executive branch to create loopholes in which to continue warrantless surveillance where and when they see it fit. For this reason, the FISA process of requiring review by a special court is still viable, but does need some adjustments that allow it to stand similarly to its original form. Since the passing of FISA came after a widespread finding of warrantless wiretapping by a number of different government entities, Congress along with the Carter administration, needed to carefully craft a bill that not only reconciled national security needs to conduct domestic surveillance, but also continued to protect individual liberties such as that of the first and fourth amendments. • 14. President Machiavelli Bush Essay President Machiavelli Bush George W. Bush, our current President, must keep a copy of Machiavelli's most celebrated work, "The Prince "(1513), on his desk in the Oval Office. In my opinion, Bush and his administration's actions mimic Machiavelli's advice to the Prince on the tactics that he should use to stay in power. I am going to discuss how President Bush uses Machiavellian principles. My first example is of Bush's "War on Terror". In 2001, the President stated that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction and Saddam was going to use them against the U.S. and other nations even though he did not have concrete proof . He also said Iraq had ties to Al Quaida and this was a threat to our security and the security... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Yet, it is only the appearance of religion that is helpful . George Bush claims that not only is he saved, but is called upon by God to political office. He also uses extensive references to scripture during his public speeches and he promises to bring freedom "as a gift from the Almighty" to benighted regions of the world like the Middle East. His so called strong morality and grounding in faith was one of the major reasons for his widespread public appeal, and according to some estimates, they are among the most important factors in the 2004 election(Urban, #130). This "good ole boy" painted a virtuous image of himself that the people loved and he has quickly fallen from grace after being in office for two terms. His positive popularity diminished, not only in the United States, but all over the world as well. I found the following fact interesting: a poll conducted in Britain named Bush the second biggest "threat to world peace" after Bin Laden, beating North Korean president Kim Jong–il (Wikipedia, #203). I guess appearance isn't everything. The last comparison I will make is the Patriot Act and the fear that it created in the American public. The Patriot Act was passed immediately after 9/11. It was meant to protect American's and to obstruct acts of domestic terrorism. The act gave the government the right to invade American's privacy by increasing the ability of law enforcement agencies have to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 15. President Obama 's President Bush Essay Incumbent politicians spend their time in office voting on legislation to benefit their constituents, crafting legislation to fit party principles, building a reputation for reelection, and crafting a legacy that will ensure them a spot in history. President Obama's choice to act unilaterally in signing the Paris Agreement solidifies his legacy by finally putting into effect an international agreement that has been a work–in–progress for two decades. The Republican–ruled Congress has been opposing what they claim to be a "war on coal" since President Obama made climate change a focus of his second term. Obama's bypass of Congressional approval for the Paris Agreement, an agreement many see as a treaty, will strain Congressional/ Executive relations for terms to come by encouraging members of Congress to be cautious of unilateral actions while encouraging the President to take advantage of them. The Paris Agreement is made up of 195 nations who plan to cut their greenhouse–gas emissions in an attempt to slow down the increase in the global temperature. President Obama's decision to sign this agreement does not only promote his personal climate change legacy but the climate change legacy of the United States of America. Since this environmental pact is only legally binding when "at least 55 countries representing 55 percent of global emissions sign on," a United States signature could very well be the difference between a revolutionary global climate change policy and ... • 19. President George Bush 's No Child Left Behind Act Of 2007 Politics have made up a large part of public education in the United States of America since Anglo–Saxons came over from Europe. The effects that politics and governmental policies have had on public education have been evident throughout the history of the United States and are still apparent today. Beginning with assimilation and acculturation in the 17th century and continuing on to programs such as President George Bush's No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 and the Mississippi Healthy Students Act of 2007, it is clear that governmental policies have and will always affect public education in the United States. As many European settlers made America their new home, their main goal was to assimilate Natives and create a country based off of their strong Catholic beliefs. Native Americans were torn from their cultures and were forced to learn the ways of the Europeans. Public schools first began in America when the Anglo–Saxons created schools for Native American children to be stripped from their own cultures and hurled into that of the Europeans. While times changed in America, the effects of government policies on public education only became stronger. Robert N. Gross discusses the rising of parochial schools in the progressive era due to the effects governmental influences in public schools in his article "Public Regulation and the Origins of Modern School–Choice Policies in the Progressive Era". One president who is on the list of presidents that made the country worse and our economy decline is George W. Bush. He was the United States president from 2001 to 2009. George W. President George W. bush made the decision to go to war with Iraq just months after the 9/11 terror attacks on the United States. There is evidence that shows Bush was after Saddam Hussain from day one of his presidency. Bush denied these claims and discredited O'Neill by declaring he was a dissatisfied employee who was dismissed by the White House and that O'Neill had no reliable comprehension of U.S. foreign policy. Clinton, in response to these fears, decided to start military training exercises, known as Team Spirit, in South Korea. This flexing of military muscle prompted North Korea to threaten to pull out of the Non Proliferation Treaty (NPT). After some negotiations North Korea agreed to pull back on their threat of withdrawing from the NPT. This led Clinton to reward North Korea for its reversal by not considering any trade sanction or military actions against the DPRK. Things started growing worse though as the fear that North Korea had nuclear capabilities grew. Leading the fears along was the fact that the dictator of North Korea at the time, Kim Il Sung, was blocking nuclear inspectors from reaching the nuclear reactors they wanted to inspect. Furthermore, it was later concluded by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) that North Korea did indeed have nuclear capabilities. Needless to say the people of America were both frightened and confused, looking to their leader President George W.
