2. What does a production company do? A production companyhasthe main responsibility for the creation of media, in this case film. The production company may be funding for the creation of the film. The production company is responsible for pre production, production and post production.
3. Production Company The production company we choose to partner with is Lakeshore Entertainment. The main reason we chose Lakeshore Entertainment is because they have produced Arlington Road (1999) the film we have based our opening sequence on. Lakeshore Entertainment has produced many other thrillers such as Gamer (2009), Pathology (2008), Untraceable (2008) and many other thrillers.
4. What does a distributor do? A distributor is responsible for the release of a film in cinemas, or on dvd/download/televised. The distributor is also in charge of marketing for the film. This can include promotion, advertising and publicity of the film.
5. Distribut0r We chose to use Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) as our main distribut0r For several reasons. The first reason is that Arlington Road (1999), the film we Are basing our opening sequence on uses SPE to distribute their film. SPE are also Well known for distributing other big hit films and thrillers. SPE will be very Interested in our film, it has a mysterious physiological edge to the thriller .
6. Funding Arlington Road was funded by private film investors and production companies: Screen Gems & Lakeshore Entertainment. The total amount funded for Arlington Road was $21.5milliom. As we are UK based we will have to use private investors, and contact the UK Film Council for funding.
