1. What Kind of Media Institution Might Distribute Your Media Product and Why?
2. Production Companies A production company is a company responsible for the production of a film or music, a TV show, etc. In some cases the production company will fund the film or program being produced. Some production companies will sell the products they make or produce to film studios, or they will present it in a theatrical venue. A lot of films will have more than one production company producing them; this is known as ‘coproduction’.
3. Production Company Logo We chose to use this as our own production logo as it is very simple which fits in well with the film. To add to this the font is used as it matches the titles in the opening scene. We chose to use Universal Pictures as our production company as it is well known amongst the film industry. Furthermore the production company has a good reputation for producing high quality films.
4. The Distributor The Distributor of films is the person, company or group that advertises the film and sells it to the public. The distributor can distribute either through ‘theatrical exhibitions’, or directly, if they own a theater or distribution network.
5. Our Distributor We chose to use Universal as our production company because they also distribute their films. We decided they would be good to distribute our film as well as produce it, because of their good reputation and wide variety of successful films.
6. Universal Pictures The company we have chosen-Universal would be interested in our film as although they have not produced many thrillers, the ones they have produced have had an exceptional response with the same target audience. Therefore they would be willing to promote another one.
7. The possible ways our film could be funded : Our film could be funded through production and sponsors, such as Universal Pictures and Nightmare Pictures.
