A production company raises funds to physically produce a film. The group created the production company "Killer Production" to represent the death theme in their trailer. A film distributor publicly releases and markets a film through cinemas, DVDs, and television. The group chose the distributor "Paramount" to release their film because Paramount previously distributed the similar film "Clover Field", which would help promote their production to that audience.

What does a production company do?The production company is a company that is a company that basically comes up in the funds for a production as they are responsible for the physical part of a film, the production company can be either large or small but they do this by selling its products to film studios.

The Production company logos you have chosen and or created and why?The production company that our group created was called “Killer Production”, we created this production because the name “Killer” represented death, so when our trailer was made we could put that production name on so that our viewers would see that name and sort of have an idea what our production is about.

4. What does a distributor do?A film distributor is a company which puts the film out there for the public for home view i.e. cinema, dvds, putting it on television for the public to view.

Why you have chosen the distribution companies you have to release your film (Think about the sort product you have produced, and the type of films this company have released before – are they likely to be interested in your film?) Explain why.The distributing company that we have chosen to release our film is a company well known called “Paramount”, this company has been around for many years and was founded in 1912 (but are now owned by media conglomerate Viacom).We want “Paramount” to release our film because of the fact that they released a similar film to us which was “Clover Field”. So this would really promote our film by drawing in the people who saw “Clover Field” to watch our production.
