1. Title Block Analysis
This title block is very simplistic and easy to change into any genre type in a music magazine.
It is a sans serif font and the colour is changed throughout every issue to correspond to the
changes in colour scheme; hence why the picture above is black. Also it covers the majority
of the top quarter of the page so is easy to read.
The XXL title block is bold, and simple with white letters on a red background which makes
the mast head stand out on the page, making people notice the magazine on the shelf,
intriguing the target audience. This tile block is the same for each issue meaning the colour
scheme will need to stay the same as there may be a clash in colours.
The source is a big named hip hop/ rap music magazine with red text and surrounded by a
white outline which creates contrast on the page along with the black shadow. The colour
red is often associated with urban artists which are why this colour was used. The use of the
microphone in the ‘O’ is a selling point for the title block as it is the main logo for the
magazine.
