4. • My product has followed many conventions of
a typical rap magazine. This allows the
magazine to be easily identified to the
targeted audience when on the shelf. The
contrast of light and dark colours also help the
magazine stand out from competition.
• My magazine has also challenged conventions
by including a free gift with the product
mentioned in the skyline. My product also
includes a competition with a chance to win
prizes related to the genre, this is often seen
in magazines although rarely in the rap genre.

7. • My contents page clearly follows some
conventions made evident in the comparison,
however the product also strays from
conventions and challenges some. The use of
contrasting colours helps the writing stand out for
the reader.
• The magazine challenges some conventions by
using multiple smaller images for detailed yet
brief descriptions for some articles that are more
likely to interest the readers. I have also involved
sub titles in larger fonts to help the readers find
any topics or specific articles they may be looking
for.

10. • My magazine follows some conventions of a
double page spread. The page divides into
two, using one side for an image and the other
for text which is commonly seen in magazines.
The text used is presented in columns like
most other magazines making it easy for users
to read.
• My magazine also uses a large title to
introduce the article and a small reference to
the magazine through a logo in the page.
