1. Q1) In what ways does your media
product use, develop or challenge
conventions of real media products?
2. This is the masthead, which is
found in all magazines. This
masthead is bold, and sticks out
from the main image. It also uses
the school colours for the word
‘FCHS.’ The masthead is also
found at the top of the page
which is conventional for a front
cover
My cover lines are found in the
centre of the page, which
intrigues people to read the
magazine. I feel the cover lines
can be a bit more exciting
instead of just ‘exam success’
3. The main image represents
the common school child. It
is conventional to a normal
magazine as it is larger than
all the other images on the
page, and also sticks out the
viewers.
The main cover line is found at the
bottom of my front cover. It shows
the picture, which illustrates what
the main cover line is about.
Personally, I think this is too small
to be a main cover line so I will
need to size it up for the main task.
The main cover line isn’t in a
conventional place to be as it is at
the bottom, where usually it is at
the top of the page.
4. This is the magazines logo,
which will be displayed on all
pages under the masthead on
all pages where in this case,
the masthead is Contents
The magazine name is
usually found in the top
corner of the contents
page. This is conventional
as it is smaller than it is
on the front cover.
This contents page isn’t conventional
to other contents pages produced as
the boxes with the page numbers are
in odd places. I feel this is suitable for
the school as it shows how different
the school is, making the audience
more intrigued in what’s in the
magazine, also making the read on.
