The Human Condition Analysis
The Human Condition in Music Throughout time, artists, musicians, and composers have been using their various artforms as an outlet, a way to
express themselves in a way rather than written word or oral expression. For these artists, many times composition and performing music allows them
to study the human condition in a deeper, more personalized, yet relatable way, much like Arthur Miller exhibited in Death of a Salesman. Though
various other art forms are used to express this, it is music that allows the composer, performer, or listener to examine an aspect or sometimes multiple
aspects of the human condition, including: birth, growth, love, emotionality, aspiration, conflict, and mortality. These exhibitions have spanned from

Emotionality is found to be an important aspect of any kind of artistic study. Those who choose to contribute in artistic advances such as drawing,
painting, literature, theater, or music are continually pressured to convey more emotion within their works. For example, Ella Fitzgerald's 1958
rendition of "Blue Skies" uses a presto tempo and E major key to suggest the same feelings as Arthur Miller wished to convey by describing how
Willy Loman believes the aristocrats must feel. To similarly convey this, Ella sings, "I never saw the sun shining so bright, never saw things
going so right." Willy believes that the aristocrats must feel similarly to this due to the fact that to Willy everything seems to be going deplorably.
Willy believes that if one is not plagued with the idea of being unable to provide for his family, then they must be living as Fitzgerald suggests.
Moreover, leaping to 2009, Eric Whitacre, a newfound Juilliard graduate in composition, had noticed a fan of his works had posted a video of
herself singing the soprano part of his newly composed piece, "Sleep". Eric, resonating in the purity and innocence of the video he had watched,
began a project to connect people from around the world in his personal "Virtual Choir", as he explains in his TED Talk. Eric, finally being able to
join individuals in over 50 countries in song, speaks of how moved and

Musical Autobiography
Music has always been a huge part of my life. I have memories of singing and dancing to songs from Barney and Sesame Street as a toddler. Today,
music is still a huge part of my life, singing especially. It plays into my emotions and the way I look at the world around me. I know that music will
continue to be a necessary and amazing piece of me.
I started singing in my elementary school choir. At the time, I disliked it, solely because I was forced to pay attention for long periods of time to
learn the songs, and I was a very impatient child. Now I am thankful for my music teacher, who brought me into the magical world of music and
singing. Singing is something I care about because it brings me into so many other worlds. You sing songs that are written based off of other people's
experiences and it takes you to their pain, their joy, their laughter and tears. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I feel that everybody has one thing that they always need to be perfect at. For me, this activity is singing. I sing whenever I can, but when I feel
that I've sung something in the wrong key or sung the wrong note, it irks me until I can fix it. Either I will listen to the song and fix my mistake or
I will see what key it should be in and check it on the piano. This perfectionist side of me makes a difference because I know that once I have
practiced a song over and over again, I am positive it will be the absolute best I can sing it. I also experience many emotions while singing.
Happiness is almost always one of them, unless the song I am singing is one of anger or sadness. Music gives me great joy, and it is very hard not
to show that during songs like these, which is why focus is important. Focus, I think, is key to performing of any kind, and yet, one also needs to
know how to look like they are focusing on anything but singing correctly. A singer's mind needs to focus on the song, but their face needs to convey the

Anne Valwood Angel Poetic Techniques
Words to Live By There are many quotes that have deep meanings to me, so it is difficult for me to pick just one to write about. The difficulty in
finding [a] quote(s) is that almost nobody is going to feel and/or understand the way you interpret a quote. Quotes have different meanings to
everyone, and for some, a quote is not something that can explained, but something a person must feel. I guess since I have to choose I would
choose the lyrics to 'Angel' by Theory of a Deadman. The lyrics to 'Angel' include the line, "Her halo is broken, but there's fight in her eyes." This
quote has a deep meaning to me because it signifies not only myself but also, how the struggles I have been through have shaped my personality and
made me who I am today.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some people say the song is a ballad about a man who's in love with an angel but realizes that he eventually has to let her go; while others interpret
the song as being about a man who falls in love with a girl but the girl has gone through a tough time and ends up killing herself, thus becoming an
angel. As someone who has gone through an insane amount of tough experiences in her– life from being bullied from the time she started school at
Lanier County until she moved to Valwood– this song has a meaning to me that cannot simply be expressed in words. The quote is more than just the
lyrics of a song. The words are an encouragement, and they are meaningful. They inspire me to remember that even when I get knocked down I
need to get back up and be ready to fight. This quote is not simply something that can be expressed in words because it conveys an emotional feeling
that is significant to me. The quote I chose is meaningful to me because it is about someone who has been beaten down in ways others may not be
able to comprehend, but she prevails above all odds and is stronger and wiser for what she went

Music Is Always Changing With The Times
Connections to the Past Music is always changing with the times. The more different types of music made, leads to having more genres of music to
choose from. This begs the question how do we truly know what type of music we are listening too? With the way music is currently, putting music
in the correct genre can prove to be troublesome. Reason being, the ideas of past genres are incorporated into current genres which makes labeling a
song with the correct genre difficult. It takes a thorough analysis with strong listening skills to help find the key which in turn unlocks the door of
mystery to the current song. Can we truly analyze and categorize what we listen to currently? Only by comparing various ideas of other genres to a
mystery... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The instrumentation doesn't change throughout the whole song. The style seems to follow a mixture of other various types of rock. You can hear
elements of grunge from the heavy guitar playing and dirty sound, elements of punk in the screaming vocals and fast guitar playing, some progressive
rock with the use of the orchestral strings, and finally elements of dub and psychedelic rock with the echo and fade in and out singing effects later in
the song. At this point, it's still hard to determine a proper genre due to the mixture of all the mentioned styles. A further analysis is needed. Making a
timeline of this mystery song helps breakdown many of the important key events in the song. The first noticeable event is the intro where you can hear
the orchestral sounding strings playing. This is not something you typically hear in rock music. This shows a mixture of the elements of the
progressive rock. The growling and screaming lyrics in the beginning after the point continue throughout the song. At the 41 second mark, another
major change comes about with the chorus. The chorus has clear sounding vocals instead of the previous screaming lyrics beforehand. The drumming
is also less heavy hitting and guitar playing isn't heavy fast strumming. The hard hitting drums sounds as though they are being played in the Вѕ time
like most rock songs. The song continues to progress with same heavy drumming and guitar strumming before the chorus. Another major event

Essay On Alicia Keys
Born Alicia Augello Cook on January 25, 1981, fathered by an African–American man and an Italian–American woman. Alicia grew up in a tough
neighborhood known as Hell's Kitchen located in the lower parts of Manhattan. During her childhood, the family faced many challenges and was
poverty stricken. These bad times caused her mother and father to part ways. After the split, Alicia was mainly raised by her mother Terri Augello.
Terri worked most of Alicia's childhood as a paralegal and a part–time actress (Kaufman,2004). Though Alicia did not see her father often, the two
always stayed on good terms with each other. Being raised in a single parent home was a struggle for Keys and her mom.

At the young age of twenty two, Stevie Wonder sang, "When you believe in the things you don't understand / Then you suffer / Superstition ain't the

racism throughout national and international borders. Musically, socially, and politically,Stevie Wonder was able to bring people together with his

Retrolental fibroplasia is caused by the disruption of the growth of blood vessels in back of the eye which leads to the person's retinas to detached
(Pub Med Health). For some people, retrolental fibroplasia has been temporary but this was not the case for Wonder. Even though he was blind
from birth, it was not an obstacle for him to overcome. While growing up, Wonder was optimistic and refused to let his disability get in the way of
"seeing"; according to Stevie Wonder himself, he states, "In my mind, I can see all of these things in my own way, in the manner that blind people
can see them" (Brown 7). If anything, his blindness opened up his world to a different type of judgment and vision in which everything is left to
Wonder's magical interpretation. Moreover his blindness later transferred over was epitomized within his music which Wonder calls "blindism".
Visibly seen whiling he is performing, any spectator will notice Stevie's movements as he plays the piano in which he bobs his head to right and left
throughout any song. Wonder explains his "blindism" as the idea of "building a lot of excess energy that [others] get rid of through his eyes"
(Goldberg). Seeing singers can look into the eyes of their spectators and lure them into the music. Moreover, Stevie Wonder's "blindism" is the same
type of tactic, the movements of his body exuding such liveliness and passion becomes

Analysis Of Waiting On A Song
♦♦ "Waiting On A Song"
One of the hardest working musicians out there, Auerbach is always in the studio, playing shows, or working with music in some kind of way.
Between The Black Keys, The Arcs, and his solo projects, he keeps very busy. In "Waiting On A Song," Hardworking Dan describes how sometimes
it can be difficult to write songs when you're trying real hard to do so. He reflects throughout the song on how the songwriting process has always
come easier to him by just going through every day life and paying attention to his surroundings.
"Waiting On A Song" encompasses a warm rhythm section that starts from the very first measure and continues throughout the opening track. Overall,
the words and instruments reflect movement, contentedness, and peace of mind. It's a great driving song.
♦♦♦"Malibu Man"
The winding, dissonant, country guitar that plays in the background is the perfect focus for the song. When the preciseness of the orchestra joins in with
the guitar on the chorus, the song really hits it's strong point.
"Livin' In Sin"
After hiding in the back of the mix for the first two songs, Auerbach comes up real close with the vocal line on "Livin' In Sin." The bouncing rhythm
section and distant guitar playing matched with Auerbach's close up and personal vocals helps the listener drift off into a joyous and different world.

Fast Car Song Meaning
Most songs are trying to portray a message to other listeners through the use of lyrics and music put together, to me the song "Fast Car" written by
Tracy Chapman was very successful at this. This song portrays a teenage girl whose mother ran away from her drunken father and that she left
school to look after him as she felt it was her responsibility. She had a boyfriend with a fast car and saw him as an escape from her unhappy home
life. Through the main character of the teenage girl, I was able to see her perspective through the lyrics and her feelings towards running away for
a better life. To me, I can see how choosing to run away as opposed to staying was more tempting as she still had her whole life ahead of her and
she was excited about a new life in the city with her boyfriend who would take care of her. She had no parents to care for her so she had to grow up
very quickly and make decisions that teenagers of that age wouldn't normally make. She believes that her and her boyfriend can have a future together...

This made me question if some teenagers in today's society have to step foot inside an adult role and run away from their unloved parents to have a
better life elsewhere. It highlights the predicament of dysfunctional, broken and poor families where children are often left to fend for themselves.
The song states that she "wants a ticket to anywhere" conveying that she'd rather be anywhere than at her home. Often in these situations, education
isn't considered a priority as the parents are on a very low income and need more money to survive. It still exist in some cultures today where
families live in poverty and rely on their children to leave school and find a job to support their parents. To me, I feel the important message was that
there is hope if you believe in yourself and that you're not responsible for your parent's

Lesley Choyce's The Book Of Michael illustrates that it is important to move on from hardships that occurred in our past. Michael decided to move
on from his girlfriend's murder, and instead of mourning, he decided to go back to school and do something with his life. "I had nothing to lose. I had
already lost it all. I was free. Strangely enough, my parents tried to stop me. They thought I had lost my mind. 'Why today?' my dad asked. 'What do I
have to lose?' was my answer." (Choyce 147–148) This quotation tells us that Michael wanted to go back to school and start a new life again. He keeps
repeating that he has nothing to lose, which shows us that he is starting from scratch again and has nothing that he can possibly lose. In addition,

Classical Music 's Influence On The Beatles
Classical Music 's Influence on the Beatles In this essay I am going to look at the way that classical, in particular baroque, music has affected music of
the 20th century. To do this I have chosen three beatles songs and compared them directly to music by Bach and Beethoven. I hope to find many
correlations between the two pieces of music in each case. The first song I have chosen is the song Blackbird. McCartney has claimed that the music
was inspired by Bach 's Bouree in E minor, of which he and George Harrison had learned to play at a young age. https://www.youtube.com
/watch?v=BrxZhWCAuQw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=APNI2CC0k6A&list=RDAPNI2CC0k6A&index=1 Blackbird – Bouree In E Minor
(Bach) Musically, the songs at first glance aren't that similar, for example the song Blackbird is majoritively in a major key, whereas Bach's
Bouree in E Minor, as named, is in a minor key. This is a seemingly large difference but Blackbird is in G major and therefore the relative major key
of E minor. The two keys are very closely related and add to the similarities between the two pieces. The BourrГ©e is distinguished by melody and
bass notes played simultaneously on the upper and lower strings. McCartney adapted a segment of the BourrГ©e and reharmonized it into the relative
major key of G as the opening of "Blackbird,". He then carried the musical idea throughout the song. This song also makes use of baroque like
counterpoint melodies. "Part of its structure is a particular

Rock And Roll Classics : The Beatles
When I think of rock and roll classics, I think of many exceptional acts such as The Rolling Stones and Elvis, however the Beatles really exemplified
the idea of classic songs in rock and roll. The Beatles have released many iconic singles during a turbulent time in history, the 1950s. These singles
have become the favorites of many generations from the parents of the baby boomers, the baby boomers, their children and grandchildren. The Beatles
created music that was relatable to the population, as could be seen at the Paul McCartney concert. The audience members at the venue ranged in age
from little kids to 70 and 80 year olds. I was one of the many fans in the Bryce Jordan Center that night, and I loved singing along to all the songs that
were performed for us by the legend himself, Paul McCartney. The songs composed by the Beatles provided an escape from the turbulent environment
that surrounded the nation at that time. Paul McCartney and John Lennon collaborated to write many of the classics that were produced by the
Beatles. The following three songs can be thought of as classics from the Beatles. "And I Love Her" is composed by Paul McCartney and John
Lennon. This song is written in the manner of a ballad, and is recorded with McCartney on bass and lead vocals, Lennon on acoustic rhythm guitar,
Harrison on acoustic lead guitar, and Starr on congos. The music for this song utilized the concept of relative keys, as the song's notes fluctuate

Calypso Song Analysis
The 1940's was a time of conflict, despair, and hope to everyone who was involved in war of the giants. World War II, as the name states was a
conflict on a global scale, with a plethora of nations involved. In addition, many of those nations created pacts of alliances with each other that
only complicated the fighting. One of the nations that was involved was the country of Trinidad and Tobago, as a key collaborator with Allies
against the Axis of Powers, it provided the area for two US bases (The Roaring Lion). Furthermore, it provided support during the conflict of the
Atlantic. During this time the Trinidad and Tobago culture became a receiver of many different inputs, in the matters of all aspects. These new
inputs of influences forged the music culture of calypso, the voice of the people in the form of song. Through calypso melodies, the people of
Trinidad and Tobago started to tell their views of the world events, and during this time the major event was WWII. By analyzing the lyrics of the
Trinidad song that was made in 1943, it can be determined what the current events were at the time and the political opinions of the native people,
which was the changing view on the soviet forces of in the war.
The lyrics of this calypso song talk about the successful war campaigning of Russia, and as the result of its movement how the view on the country has
changed. These lyrics can be translated as the historical point in the war, as the in the year 1943 the Russian forces

Let Down Song Analysis
There are many different ways for a song to be effective. For many people, it's a catchy melody and relatable lyrics. For others, it's complex
instrumentation and clever songwriting. Still others prefer deep lyrics they can dig into and analyze. On all of these fronts, Let Down passes with
flying colors. But what makes Let Down such an effective song for me is how well it can put feelings into words and sounds, and its ability to
completely accept the meaninglessness of life, while at the same time proclaiming the joy of living life. The song accomplishes this through its use of
intricate rhythm, beautiful melody and instrumentation, and thoughtful lyrics.
The song opens with a beautiful, melancholic guitar melody, setting the tone for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the end, Let Down truly shines because of its intricate rhythm, melody, and amazing instrumentation and lyrics.
The harmony is simple yet effective, acting as a canvas for the melody, instrumentation, and lyrics to flourish from. It starts on its key center, A major,
a common and comfortable place for a song to start on. It then moves to E major, a chord that feels unsettled for songs in the key of A major, and is
commonly used to set up a feeling of tension in songs. Then it moves to F# minor, giving the song a somewhat somber, yet still fundamentally happy
feeling. Afterwards, it moves back to the unresolved E major, to then resolve back to the tonic (the song's key center), A major. An unresolved chord
doesn't feel quite at place in a song, and wants to find closure by pivoting back to the song's key center. This progression isn't anything special, but it
does offer a strong building block for the other elements of the song to be built on. This pattern repeats through the verses.
Instrumentally, the song takes inspiration from Phil Spector's Wall of Sound technique.1 Through this dense, multi–layered arrangement and
production, the electric piano, drums, bass, acoustic guitar, and electric guitar all work together to create one thick, powerful sound. This helps the
song gain a sense of resolve in the face of its poignant lyrics.

I chose this song because it is about an individual facing troubles and wanting to be free, perhaps from racial oppression as expressed in the book 'I
Know Why the Caged Bird Sings' by Maya Angelou. The book describes how Maya turns to poetry as a source of freedom, due to its inability to fly.
"Caged Bird" suggests that freedom and joy is found through song. Through the words, Alicia Keys refers to herself as the bird so that she can
engage the listener. She does this by putting herself in the shoes of the caged bird, saying "I feel like a bird, caged without a key". She takes on
the role of the bird, describing the way people look at her as if she was an animal locked in a cage. She informs the listener that she understands the
drive of the caged bird because she experiences the same problem. In the second portion of song, she leads the listener to believe that the bird isnt
her. Alicia also uses "she" which suggests that more individuals are involved rather than just one person. The song uses the "caged bird" as the
common connection between these individuals. The second song is Black or White by Michael Jackson. I chose this song because it is about racial
equality and an individual attempt to mend race relations. This song is saying that it doesn't matter what color your skin is or what ethnicity or race
you are, we are all the same. Michael also mentions that the world should be about equality and not about judging people by their skin color. He sings
"and I told about equality, it's true, you're either wrong or you're right" means that everyone should be treated as equals and you should not encourage
discrimination or

Gymnopedie No 1 Analysis
When you listen to Erik Satie's Gymnopedie No. 1 you are struck with a sullen, dreamy chord progression striking the root on the one of the measure
and the 3rd, 5th, and 7th of the chord on the 2nd and 3nd of the measure with its waltz like Вѕ timing. You hear this song and it almost immediately
hits you with a feeling of sadness but there is a sort of beauty to it. But why? Why is it that this song makes you feel sad? Many people who are
untrained in music will have a simple explanation such as "it's because it's slow" or "because it's in a minor key". While yes it is at a slow 78 bpm
but anybody with a trained ear can tell that it's in the key of D Major. So there must be more to it than just its tempo or what key it's in. As you move
further along in this endeavour of understanding music you learn that instead of it being just one or two things that make a song happy or sad it's a
combination of many different attributes. Such as key signature, tempo, meter, chord extensions, intervals, and etc.Music in it many forms makes us
all feel different emotions. Music can evoke so many different types of emotions some will make you want to dance and some will make you want to

many of us feel towards music one must first understand at least the basics of music theory. How is it that a combination of pitch all caused by

Americans. The National Anthem was written on September 14, 1814 by a lawyer named Francis Scott Key, Key after witnessing the bombardment of

It was written about real things and those things are still going on today. War is a scary thing and it's incredible that there are so many men and
women that volunteer to put their own life on the line to make sure that both you and I can continue to live in this great country. Mac Engel wrote,
"In looking at the giant flag that represents so much to the history of what is a flawed but wonderful country it is this: America is a house, and
Americans are family. Like most homes and most families, there is a high degree of dysfunction and it's often a giant mess of noise, drama, action,
love and stupidity. It's also ours, and you don't leave it." We must honor and respect our country and what our ancestors have gone through to give
us all of the rights we have today. The Star Spangled Banner isn't just a song that's played before a sporting event. It's a song that is played to honor
those men and women that have risked their lives so we can be free. It's those people that risk their lives so people have the choice to stand or kneel
during the playing of the National Anthem. Whether you stand with pride or kneel during the playing of the Star Spangled Banner it is important to

How Did Machine Gun Kelly Impact Popular Culture
During the Twenties prohibition was passed, this caused the crime rate to skyrocket. The passage of the 18th amendment prohibited the sale and
purchase of alcohol. So a lot of people started smuggling alcohol into the United States becoming criminals, if they were good at it they would most
likely become part of a gang of bootleggers. George"Machine Gun Kelly"Barnes was a well–known gangster, bootlegger and businessman in the

woman is the reason he is going down the path that is is. It says don't let her pull you down the path she is taking you. The fact that he was so notable

What Is Billy Joel's Tone In 'Vienna'?

Billy Joel is an accomplished singer–songwriter and pianist. He was born in Brooklyn where he started reluctantly taking piano lessons and soon fell
in love with the instrument. He rose to early fame but didn't make it big until releasing his fifth studio album entitled, The Stranger. The album

The Stranger, the album that "Vienna" is featured in, is viewed as being a dark, intimate album that effectively communicates Joel's ruminations on the
perils of life and love. Vienna does accomplish Joel's theme of the album by starting and ending with a piano solo that encapsulates listeners in its
natural and poignant sound. The song also inhabits an intimate mood through the voice and lyrics that describe living life in patience for the future.
The strength of the piano along with Joel's choice of singing in minor key creates a self–reflecting emotion and tone that the listener can surround

shares land borders with Germany, France, Luxembourg, and Netherlands. His father and mother are Germans. Ironically, out of four choices, Cesar
Frank leaned more toward France music. According to the Encyclopaedia Britannica, Franck had a brilliant gift for music that he later entered the

What Does Girl On Fire Mean
"Girl On Fire" by Alicia Keys is an empowering song wrote to emphasize the strength in women of all jobs. Alicia Keys, who has always promoted
female empowerment, wrote this song to explain how she was feeling in a woman in this society. Within the song and the music video, the song talks
about a women who really has the typical "female" job. She is a mom who takes care of her kids, cleans, and really runs the household. The message,
however is not shaming women who are in this role. Instead, the song speaks of how women are strong no matter what role they play in the world.

A Critical Appreciation of Wallace Steven's ' the Idea of...
A critical appreciation of Wallace Stevens– "The Idea of Order at Key West"
"The Idea of Order at Key West" was written in 1934 and is considered Stevens' most complicated poem. It is both long (being eight stanzas and 56
lines) and in depth."The Idea ..." is in a loose iambic pentameter and is written in free verse, meaning that there is no organized rhyme pattern. The
stanzas are a bit confusing because the fifth one is indented a lot after the fourth one. In fact, there is no actual line between them. As complex as it
is, the plot of "The Idea..." is rather simple. The speaker of the poem, a man, is walking down a beach with a friend and hears a woman singing. He
muses on how the sounds of the ocean contrast and inspire her voice. He ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To answer this question, Stevens suggest that the narrator must investigate and recognize the difference between imagination and reality. Since the sea
is an external nature which causes a meaningless "constant cry" and cannot be "formed to mind or voice", the narrator must distinguish the ocean's
image and counterpart through the singer. Likewise, her ability to utter the sound of the waves "word by word" helps to transform the inhuman song of
the sea into the entirely human song of the woman. Moreover, as the singer measures and interprets her song; the ocean similarly analyzes and follows
the laws of nature.
As the speaker begins to perceive that the song is more than the sea merely singing through the woman's voice, he begins to feel a sense of ineffability
which goes beyond the mere language of the tune and experience of his walk. Thus in stanza twenty eight he states:
"But it was more than that, more even than her voice, and ours"
The narrator begins to accept the mystery behind the song's blissfulness and acquires the tune as the driving spirit of all the external realities in his
presence. This realization of the song's ineffability makes "the sky acutest at its vanishing" (35) and "measured to the hour at its solitude". For Stevens,
these acts of interpretation are

Seasons Of Love Analysis
Seasons of Love is a song both written and composed by Jonathan Larson for the musical "RENT" and is generally the most widely recognised song
in such musical. Whilst it may be a song with a rather gentle feel on the surface, when one digs deeper they find that it is both a very emotional and
quite a philosophical number.
This piece is in the key of F major and is in simple quadruple time, allowing for the song to flow steadily whilst retaining a positive feel due to the
major key. The opening gentle ostinato allows for the gears to start turning and the song to progress whilst remaining simple enough to retain its
sincerity and purity. With this song being performed at the start of Act II in the original broadway production (and at the... Show more content on

This notion of value of time being measured in love deeply connects with the narrative itself, concerned with the early HIV/AIDS epidemic and
stigma (as 4 of the lead characters have HIV or AIDS). Also, by stressing the first unit of time "minutes" in the initial lyrics, the author Jonathan
Larson is highlighting the fact that every moment in your life has value and it allows for the audience realise that one cannot simply rely on there
being years left to accomplish things as life is unpredictable and finite. The questioning of how love can be measured "In daylights, in sunsets, in
midnights, in cups of coffee, in inches, in miles, in laughter, in strife" allows for the audience to connect on a personal level by using basic everyday
events to highlight that one doesn't measure a year with these things and thus life's value does not lie with such basic ideas. This further allows for the
audience to seek a deeper explanation.
The chorus is rather simple in nature as the only lyrics are "Seasons of love....how about love....measuring love" but in this simplicity lies the beauty
of it all. Jonathan Larson has used the concept of love strategically to make the subject appeal to a broad audience and allow personal reflection as to
what love means to them and how it provokes additional emotions. It's in this way that the musical "RENT" connects with almost everyone, by using
the concept of love to grasp the audiences attention and invoke reflection at a personal level making the show more relatable that first

The Star Spangled Banner Essay
Asking most American's today regarding the national anthem of the United States of America the clear answer would be The Star–Spangled Banner by
Francis Scott Key, but most Americans are unaware of the great debate between the two patriotic songs America, the Beautiful and The Star

Banner in regards of the suitable national anthem. There is no doubt that controversy shrouds the beloved national anthem, as issues of racism,
slavery, and the militaristic tone arise after each passing century. However, in my opinion, the national anthem should not be changed as it is a part
of America. Not only is the Star Spangled Banner a song that is a piece of history of the land of the free, it is also a song that has deep roots in this
country, and is a part of America's heritage.

Comparing The Song ' I Got Rhythm ' By George And Ira Gerhwin
As we learned through the lessons so far, not only Australia but also many countries in the world have changed their societies and cultures.
Especially, Australia had been effected by both England and America. In this essay, I will compare the song which was written before and after
world war two so that I will be able to find the differences of the values between each periods. And these songs which were written England or
America should effect on Australian culture and society. We can also say that Australian people have the same or similar values of these. I am going
to compare the song 'I Got rhythm' by George and Ira Gerhwin (song A) with 'Another Brick in the wall (part2) ' by Pink Floyd. In addition the essay
will focus on the love and education in values in Australia.
The language of INSERT song A and song B have a number of similarities and key differences that provide an insight into their respective time
periods. The language in song A uses words like 'chipper' and 'happy'. The languages suggest that in 1930 people tried to escape in the song. This song
was published in 1930 which is during the great depression. At that time, many Australian were poor and out of work. So they tried to find their other
happy life in the song even if it was not true. This is different to song B because this is the song which is sung against the angry emotion. It uses the
words like 'We don't need no education' and 'Teachers leave them kids alone'. The languages suggest that in 1979

Analysis Of Helft Mir Ihr Schwestern
"Helft mir, ihr Schwestern" is song number five from Robert Schumann's song cycle Frauenliebe und –leben. The song cycle was set to the text of a
poem cycle of the same name by Adelbert von Chamisso. Each poem in the cycle provides a glimpse into the story of a woman falling in love with a
man, getting engaged and married to him, getting pregnant and having a child, becoming a widow and finally sharing her life story with her
granddaughter. At the time that Schumann wrote this song cycle, he was going through a legal battle with his future wife's father over the right to
marry her. This poem cycle contains themes of love, devotion, and longing that Schumann could personally relate with his feelings for Clara Wieck,
who would soon become Clara Schumann. In this essay, I will demonstrate how Frauenliebe und–leben is directly reflective of Robert Schumann's own
life experiences. In so doing, I will be analyzing the ways in which Schumann set the music in a fashion that emphasized the structure and
emotional content of the poetry. In order to better understand the context of Robert Schuman's setting of "Helft mir, ihr Schwestern," I will first
provide a general analysis of the song cycle as a whole. As Schumann set music to the various poems, he shifted the tonality to closely related keys,
such as a fourth or fifth away, or shifting the relative or parallel major and minor keys. These shifts in tonality help emphasis the emotional
development of the main character of the poems. The song cycle begins with a relatively slow and reflective song in the key of Bb major, where
the main subject of the poem cycle first describes her feelings of intense, blind love for a man. The next song shifts the tonal center up a fourth to
the key of Eb. In this song, the woman raises the man of her affection up on a pedestal of high praise, while she demeans herself to a lowly maid.
Song three, moves the tonality to the relative minor of the previous song, C minor. This song is about the woman's disbelief that the man she adored
so highly has fallen in love with her, and Schumann reflects that disbelief by making the music more erratic in tempo. He also emphasizes the disbelief
by repeating the complete last stanza and then the

Meaning Of The Song 'Beasts Of England'
When writing a song, the song writer puts certain meanings behind specific words. When people read a song without the rhythm, they can put two
and two together of what the meaning behind it is supposed to be. Each song has a different meanings and passions behind the words. In the song
"Beasts of England", the meaning is very on the spot. Even though the meaning of the whole song is very blunt, it does not mean that in every
stanza, that the meaning is as open. In the first stanza, the meaning is very well spoken. The animals are being referred to as beasts, so when they
say, "Beasts of England, beasts of Ireland, Beasts of every land and clime, Hearken to my joyful tidings, Of the golden future time" (Orwell), they
mean that the animals all around the world will all pay full attention, to make the rebellion successful. This is the start of the song, and the animals put

our back, Bit and spur shall rust forever, And cruel whips no more shall crack" (Orwell), people will be able to feel the passion and strength that the
animals have for the rebellion. The definition of passion is not only heartfelt, but it also means feeling strongly, or stubborn, so when the animals are

The Music Of Beethoven : The Period Of Classical And...
FГјr Elise On December 17, 1770, one of the world's most gifted and greatest composers was baptized by the name of Ludwig Van Beethoven. Born
in Bonn, Germany, Beethoven was well known for expanding the ideas of symphonies, sonatas, quartets, and concertos. Moreover, the music of
Beethoven paved a way, as he became one of the most predominant and influential musical figures within the transitional period of classical and
romantic eras. Growing up, life wasn't easy for Beethoven, he suffered from the loss of his mother at the age of 16 and his father, who was a court
singer, was well known for being a chronic alcoholic. Therefore, Beethoven had to become independent at a young age and was left in charge of his
three younger siblings, two of whom lived until they were adults. Beethoven's music ventures began when his father began teaching him music.
However, it wasn't as pretty as it seemed. Beethoven's father would lock him in the cellar, depriving him of sleep, and making him practice
rigorously as a child so that he could perfect the art. When his father past away, Beethoven was accepted to become an Assistant Court Organist and in
1787, the court sent him to Vienna to study with an infamous composer by the name of Mozart. When the Holy Roman Emperor Joseph died in 1790,
Beethoven was invited to compose a musical memorial in his honor but for some reason never performed the piece. Later, Johannes Brahms discovered

The Human Condition Analysis

  • 1. The Human Condition Analysis The Human Condition in Music Throughout time, artists, musicians, and composers have been using their various artforms as an outlet, a way to express themselves in a way rather than written word or oral expression. For these artists, many times composition and performing music allows them to study the human condition in a deeper, more personalized, yet relatable way, much like Arthur Miller exhibited in Death of a Salesman. Though various other art forms are used to express this, it is music that allows the composer, performer, or listener to examine an aspect or sometimes multiple aspects of the human condition, including: birth, growth, love, emotionality, aspiration, conflict, and mortality. These exhibitions have spanned from the early ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Emotionality is found to be an important aspect of any kind of artistic study. Those who choose to contribute in artistic advances such as drawing, painting, literature, theater, or music are continually pressured to convey more emotion within their works. For example, Ella Fitzgerald's 1958 rendition of "Blue Skies" uses a presto tempo and E major key to suggest the same feelings as Arthur Miller wished to convey by describing how Willy Loman believes the aristocrats must feel. To similarly convey this, Ella sings, "I never saw the sun shining so bright, never saw things going so right." Willy believes that the aristocrats must feel similarly to this due to the fact that to Willy everything seems to be going deplorably. Willy believes that if one is not plagued with the idea of being unable to provide for his family, then they must be living as Fitzgerald suggests. Moreover, leaping to 2009, Eric Whitacre, a newfound Juilliard graduate in composition, had noticed a fan of his works had posted a video of herself singing the soprano part of his newly composed piece, "Sleep". Eric, resonating in the purity and innocence of the video he had watched, began a project to connect people from around the world in his personal "Virtual Choir", as he explains in his TED Talk. Eric, finally being able to join individuals in over 50 countries in song, speaks of how moved and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Musical Autobiography Music has always been a huge part of my life. I have memories of singing and dancing to songs from Barney and Sesame Street as a toddler. Today, music is still a huge part of my life, singing especially. It plays into my emotions and the way I look at the world around me. I know that music will continue to be a necessary and amazing piece of me. I started singing in my elementary school choir. At the time, I disliked it, solely because I was forced to pay attention for long periods of time to learn the songs, and I was a very impatient child. Now I am thankful for my music teacher, who brought me into the magical world of music and singing. Singing is something I care about because it brings me into so many other worlds. You sing songs that are written based off of other people's experiences and it takes you to their pain, their joy, their laughter and tears. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I feel that everybody has one thing that they always need to be perfect at. For me, this activity is singing. I sing whenever I can, but when I feel that I've sung something in the wrong key or sung the wrong note, it irks me until I can fix it. Either I will listen to the song and fix my mistake or I will see what key it should be in and check it on the piano. This perfectionist side of me makes a difference because I know that once I have practiced a song over and over again, I am positive it will be the absolute best I can sing it. I also experience many emotions while singing. Happiness is almost always one of them, unless the song I am singing is one of anger or sadness. Music gives me great joy, and it is very hard not to show that during songs like these, which is why focus is important. Focus, I think, is key to performing of any kind, and yet, one also needs to know how to look like they are focusing on anything but singing correctly. A singer's mind needs to focus on the song, but their face needs to convey the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Anne Valwood Angel Poetic Techniques Words to Live By There are many quotes that have deep meanings to me, so it is difficult for me to pick just one to write about. The difficulty in finding [a] quote(s) is that almost nobody is going to feel and/or understand the way you interpret a quote. Quotes have different meanings to everyone, and for some, a quote is not something that can explained, but something a person must feel. I guess since I have to choose I would choose the lyrics to 'Angel' by Theory of a Deadman. The lyrics to 'Angel' include the line, "Her halo is broken, but there's fight in her eyes." This quote has a deep meaning to me because it signifies not only myself but also, how the struggles I have been through have shaped my personality and made me who I am today.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some people say the song is a ballad about a man who's in love with an angel but realizes that he eventually has to let her go; while others interpret the song as being about a man who falls in love with a girl but the girl has gone through a tough time and ends up killing herself, thus becoming an angel. As someone who has gone through an insane amount of tough experiences in her– life from being bullied from the time she started school at Lanier County until she moved to Valwood– this song has a meaning to me that cannot simply be expressed in words. The quote is more than just the lyrics of a song. The words are an encouragement, and they are meaningful. They inspire me to remember that even when I get knocked down I need to get back up and be ready to fight. This quote is not simply something that can be expressed in words because it conveys an emotional feeling that is significant to me. The quote I chose is meaningful to me because it is about someone who has been beaten down in ways others may not be able to comprehend, but she prevails above all odds and is stronger and wiser for what she went ... • 4. Music Is Always Changing With The Times Connections to the Past Music is always changing with the times. The more different types of music made, leads to having more genres of music to choose from. This begs the question how do we truly know what type of music we are listening too? With the way music is currently, putting music in the correct genre can prove to be troublesome. Reason being, the ideas of past genres are incorporated into current genres which makes labeling a song with the correct genre difficult. It takes a thorough analysis with strong listening skills to help find the key which in turn unlocks the door of mystery to the current song. Can we truly analyze and categorize what we listen to currently? Only by comparing various ideas of other genres to a mystery... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The instrumentation doesn't change throughout the whole song. The style seems to follow a mixture of other various types of rock. You can hear elements of grunge from the heavy guitar playing and dirty sound, elements of punk in the screaming vocals and fast guitar playing, some progressive rock with the use of the orchestral strings, and finally elements of dub and psychedelic rock with the echo and fade in and out singing effects later in the song. At this point, it's still hard to determine a proper genre due to the mixture of all the mentioned styles. A further analysis is needed. Making a timeline of this mystery song helps breakdown many of the important key events in the song. The first noticeable event is the intro where you can hear the orchestral sounding strings playing. This is not something you typically hear in rock music. This shows a mixture of the elements of the progressive rock. The growling and screaming lyrics in the beginning after the point continue throughout the song. At the 41 second mark, another major change comes about with the chorus. The chorus has clear sounding vocals instead of the previous screaming lyrics beforehand. The drumming is also less heavy hitting and guitar playing isn't heavy fast strumming. The hard hitting drums sounds as though they are being played in the Вѕ time like most rock songs. The song continues to progress with same heavy drumming and guitar strumming before the chorus. Another major event ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Songs in the Key of Stevie Wonder’s Life Essay At the young age of twenty two, Stevie Wonder sang, "When you believe in the things you don't understand / Then you suffer / Superstition ain't the way". He started his career in the early 1960s, but in 1972, Superstition established Stevie Wonder as one of the most recognizable musicians of his time in American and African–American culture and music. Although music was Wonder's main priority, he also dedicated his time to a fight against racism throughout national and international borders. Retrolental fibroplasia is caused by the disruption of the growth of blood vessels in back of the eye which leads to the person's retinas to detached (Pub Med Health). For some people, retrolental fibroplasia has been temporary but this was not the case for Wonder. Even though he was blind from birth, it was not an obstacle for him to overcome. While growing up, Wonder was optimistic and refused to let his disability get in the way of "seeing"; according to Stevie Wonder himself, he states, "In my mind, I can see all of these things in my own way, in the manner that blind people can see them" (Brown 7). If anything, his blindness opened up his world to a different type of judgment and vision in which everything is left to Wonder's magical interpretation. Moreover his blindness later transferred over was epitomized within his music which Wonder calls "blindism". Visibly seen whiling he is performing, any spectator will notice Stevie's movements as he plays the piano in which he bobs his head to right and left throughout any song. Wonder explains his "blindism" as the idea of "building a lot of excess energy that [others] get rid of through his eyes" (Goldberg). Seeing singers can look into the eyes of their spectators and lure them into the music. • 10. Analysis Of Waiting On A Song ♦♦ "Waiting On A Song" One of the hardest working musicians out there, Auerbach is always in the studio, playing shows, or working with music in some kind of way. Between The Black Keys, The Arcs, and his solo projects, he keeps very busy. In "Waiting On A Song," Hardworking Dan describes how sometimes it can be difficult to write songs when you're trying real hard to do so. He reflects throughout the song on how the songwriting process has always come easier to him by just going through every day life and paying attention to his surroundings. "Waiting On A Song" encompasses a warm rhythm section that starts from the very first measure and continues throughout the opening track. Overall, the words and instruments reflect movement, contentedness, and peace of mind. It's a great driving song. ♦♦♦"Malibu Man" The winding, dissonant, country guitar that plays in the background is the perfect focus for the song. When the preciseness of the orchestra joins in with the guitar on the chorus, the song really hits it's strong point. "Livin' In Sin" After hiding in the back of the mix for the first two songs, Auerbach comes up real close with the vocal line on "Livin' In Sin." The bouncing rhythm section and distant guitar playing matched with Auerbach's close up and personal vocals helps the listener drift off into a joyous and different world. • 11. Fast Car Song Meaning Most songs are trying to portray a message to other listeners through the use of lyrics and music put together, to me the song "Fast Car" written by Tracy Chapman was very successful at this. This song portrays a teenage girl whose mother ran away from her drunken father and that she left school to look after him as she felt it was her responsibility. She had a boyfriend with a fast car and saw him as an escape from her unhappy home life. Through the main character of the teenage girl, I was able to see her perspective through the lyrics and her feelings towards running away for a better life. To me, I can see how choosing to run away as opposed to staying was more tempting as she still had her whole life ahead of her and she was excited about a new life in the city with her boyfriend who would take care of her. She had no parents to care for her so she had to grow up very quickly and make decisions that teenagers of that age wouldn't normally make. She believes that her and her boyfriend can have a future together... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This made me question if some teenagers in today's society have to step foot inside an adult role and run away from their unloved parents to have a better life elsewhere. It highlights the predicament of dysfunctional, broken and poor families where children are often left to fend for themselves. The song states that she "wants a ticket to anywhere" conveying that she'd rather be anywhere than at her home. Often in these situations, education isn't considered a priority as the parents are on a very low income and need more money to survive. It still exist in some cultures today where families live in poverty and rely on their children to leave school and find a job to support their parents. Michael decided to move on from his girlfriend's murder, and instead of mourning, he decided to go back to school and do something with his life. "I had nothing to lose. I had already lost it all. I was free. Strangely enough, my parents tried to stop me. They thought I had lost my mind. 'Why today?' my dad asked. 'What do I have to lose?' was my answer." (Choyce 147–148) This quotation tells us that Michael wanted to go back to school and start a new life again. • 13. Classical Music 's Influence On The Beatles Classical Music 's Influence on the Beatles In this essay I am going to look at the way that classical, in particular baroque, music has affected music of the 20th century. To do this I have chosen three beatles songs and compared them directly to music by Bach and Beethoven. I hope to find many correlations between the two pieces of music in each case. The first song I have chosen is the song Blackbird. McCartney has claimed that the music was inspired by Bach 's Bouree in E minor, of which he and George Harrison had learned to play at a young age. https://www.youtube.com /watch?v=BrxZhWCAuQw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=APNI2CC0k6A&list=RDAPNI2CC0k6A&index=1 Blackbird – Bouree In E Minor (Bach) Musically, the songs at first glance aren't that similar, for example the song Blackbird is majoritively in a major key, whereas Bach's Bouree in E Minor, as named, is in a minor key. This is a seemingly large difference but Blackbird is in G major and therefore the relative major key of E minor. The two keys are very closely related and add to the similarities between the two pieces. The BourrГ©e is distinguished by melody and bass notes played simultaneously on the upper and lower strings. McCartney adapted a segment of the BourrГ©e and reharmonized it into the relative major key of G as the opening of "Blackbird,". He then carried the musical idea throughout the song. This song also makes use of baroque like counterpoint melodies. "Part of its structure is a particular ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Rock And Roll Classics : The Beatles When I think of rock and roll classics, I think of many exceptional acts such as The Rolling Stones and Elvis, however the Beatles really exemplified the idea of classic songs in rock and roll. The Beatles have released many iconic singles during a turbulent time in history, the 1950s. These singles have become the favorites of many generations from the parents of the baby boomers, the baby boomers, their children and grandchildren. The Beatles created music that was relatable to the population, as could be seen at the Paul McCartney concert. The audience members at the venue ranged in age from little kids to 70 and 80 year olds. I was one of the many fans in the Bryce Jordan Center that night, and I loved singing along to all the songs that were performed for us by the legend himself, Paul McCartney. The songs composed by the Beatles provided an escape from the turbulent environment that surrounded the nation at that time. Paul McCartney and John Lennon collaborated to write many of the classics that were produced by the Beatles. The following three songs can be thought of as classics from the Beatles. "And I Love Her" is composed by Paul McCartney and John Lennon. This song is written in the manner of a ballad, and is recorded with McCartney on bass and lead vocals, Lennon on acoustic rhythm guitar, Harrison on acoustic lead guitar, and Starr on congos. World War II, as the name states was a conflict on a global scale, with a plethora of nations involved. In addition, many of those nations created pacts of alliances with each other that only complicated the fighting. One of the nations that was involved was the country of Trinidad and Tobago, as a key collaborator with Allies against the Axis of Powers, it provided the area for two US bases (The Roaring Lion). Furthermore, it provided support during the conflict of the Atlantic. During this time the Trinidad and Tobago culture became a receiver of many different inputs, in the matters of all aspects. These new inputs of influences forged the music culture of calypso, the voice of the people in the form of song. Through calypso melodies, the people of Trinidad and Tobago started to tell their views of the world events, and during this time the major event was WWII. By analyzing the lyrics of the Trinidad song that was made in 1943, it can be determined what the current events were at the time and the political opinions of the native people, which was the changing view on the soviet forces of in the war. For others, it's complex instrumentation and clever songwriting. Still others prefer deep lyrics they can dig into and analyze. On all of these fronts, Let Down passes with flying colors. But what makes Let Down such an effective song for me is how well it can put feelings into words and sounds, and its ability to completely accept the meaninglessness of life, while at the same time proclaiming the joy of living life. In the end, Let Down truly shines because of its intricate rhythm, melody, and amazing instrumentation and lyrics. The harmony is simple yet effective, acting as a canvas for the melody, instrumentation, and lyrics to flourish from. It starts on its key center, A major, a common and comfortable place for a song to start on. It then moves to E major, a chord that feels unsettled for songs in the key of A major, and is commonly used to set up a feeling of tension in songs. Then it moves to F# minor, giving the song a somewhat somber, yet still fundamentally happy feeling. Afterwards, it moves back to the unresolved E major, to then resolve back to the tonic (the song's key center), A major. An unresolved chord doesn't feel quite at place in a song, and wants to find closure by pivoting back to the song's key center. This progression isn't anything special, but it does offer a strong building block for the other elements of the song to be built on. This pattern repeats through the verses. Instrumentally, the song takes inspiration from Phil Spector's Wall of Sound technique.1 Through this dense, multi–layered arrangement and production, the electric piano, drums, bass, acoustic guitar, and electric guitar all work together to create one thick, powerful sound. This helps the song gain a sense of resolve in the face of its poignant lyrics. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I chose this song because it is about an individual facing troubles and wanting to be free, perhaps from racial oppression as expressed in the book 'I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings' by Maya Angelou. The book describes how Maya turns to poetry as a source of freedom, due to its inability to fly. "Caged Bird" suggests that freedom and joy is found through song. Through the words, Alicia Keys refers to herself as the bird so that she can engage the listener. She does this by putting herself in the shoes of the caged bird, saying "I feel like a bird, caged without a key". She takes on the role of the bird, describing the way people look at her as if she was an animal locked in a cage. She informs the listener that she understands the drive of the caged bird because she experiences the same problem. In the second portion of song, she leads the listener to believe that the bird isnt her. Alicia also uses "she" which suggests that more individuals are involved rather than just one person. The song uses the "caged bird" as the common connection between these individuals. The second song is Black or White by Michael Jackson. I chose this song because it is about racial equality and an individual attempt to mend race relations. This song is saying that it doesn't matter what color your skin is or what ethnicity or race you are, we are all the same. A critical appreciation of Wallace Stevens– "The Idea of Order at Key West" "The Idea of Order at Key West" was written in 1934 and is considered Stevens' most complicated poem. It is both long (being eight stanzas and 56 lines) and in depth."The Idea ..." is in a loose iambic pentameter and is written in free verse, meaning that there is no organized rhyme pattern. The stanzas are a bit confusing because the fifth one is indented a lot after the fourth one. In fact, there is no actual line between them. To answer this question, Stevens suggest that the narrator must investigate and recognize the difference between imagination and reality. Since the sea is an external nature which causes a meaningless "constant cry" and cannot be "formed to mind or voice", the narrator must distinguish the ocean's image and counterpart through the singer. Likewise, her ability to utter the sound of the waves "word by word" helps to transform the inhuman song of the sea into the entirely human song of the woman. Moreover, as the singer measures and interprets her song; the ocean similarly analyzes and follows the laws of nature. As the speaker begins to perceive that the song is more than the sea merely singing through the woman's voice, he begins to feel a sense of ineffability which goes beyond the mere language of the tune and experience of his walk. Thus in stanza twenty eight he states: "But it was more than that, more even than her voice, and ours" The narrator begins to accept the mystery behind the song's blissfulness and acquires the tune as the driving spirit of all the external realities in his presence. This realization of the song's ineffability makes "the sky acutest at its vanishing" (35) and "measured to the hour at its solitude". For Stevens, these acts of interpretation are ... This notion of value of time being measured in love deeply connects with the narrative itself, concerned with the early HIV/AIDS epidemic and stigma (as 4 of the lead characters have HIV or AIDS). Also, by stressing the first unit of time "minutes" in the initial lyrics, the author Jonathan Larson is highlighting the fact that every moment in your life has value and it allows for the audience realise that one cannot simply rely on there being years left to accomplish things as life is unpredictable and finite. The questioning of how love can be measured "In daylights, in sunsets, in midnights, in cups of coffee, in inches, in miles, in laughter, in strife" allows for the audience to connect on a personal level by using basic everyday events to highlight that one doesn't measure a year with these things and thus life's value does not lie with such basic ideas. This further allows for the audience to seek a deeper explanation. The chorus is rather simple in nature as the only lyrics are "Seasons of love....how about love....measuring love" but in this simplicity lies the beauty of it all. Jonathan Larson has used the concept of love strategically to make the subject appeal to a broad audience and allow personal reflection as to what love means to them and how it provokes additional emotions. It's in this way that the musical "RENT" connects with almost everyone, by using the concept of love to grasp the audiences attention and invoke reflection at a personal level making the show more relatable that first ... The Star Spangled Banner Essay Asking most American's today regarding the national anthem of the United States of America the clear answer would be The Star–Spangled Banner by Francis Scott Key, but most Americans are unaware of the great debate between the two patriotic songs America, the Beautiful and The Star –Spangled Banner in regards of the suitable national anthem. There is no doubt that controversy shrouds the beloved national anthem, as issues of racism, slavery, and the militaristic tone arise after each passing century. However, in my opinion, the national anthem should not be changed as it is a part of America. Not only is the Star Spangled Banner a song that is a piece of history of the land of the free, it is also a song that has deep roots in this country, and is a part of America's heritage. During the hard times in American history, The Star–Spangled Banner was also used to lift the spirits of Americans all over the world. In events, such as the Gulf War where Whitney Houston united a whole stadium whilst singing the national anthem, and even after 9/11 when hundreds of Parisians gathered in Notre Dame to sing The Star–Spangled Banner to show their solidarity. Comparing The Song ' I Got Rhythm ' By George And Ira Gerhwin As we learned through the lessons so far, not only Australia but also many countries in the world have changed their societies and cultures. In this essay, I will compare the song which was written before and after world war two so that I will be able to find the differences of the values between each periods. And these songs which were written England or America should effect on Australian culture and society. We can also say that Australian people have the same or similar values of these. I am going to compare the song 'I Got rhythm' by George and Ira Gerhwin (song A) with 'Another Brick in the wall (part2) ' by Pink Floyd. In addition the essay will focus on the love and education in values in Australia. The language of INSERT song A and song B have a number of similarities and key differences that provide an insight into their respective time periods. The language in song A uses words like 'chipper' and 'happy'. The languages suggest that in 1930 people tried to escape in the song. This song was published in 1930 which is during the great depression. At that time, many Australian were poor and out of work. So they tried to find their other happy life in the song even if it was not true. This is different to song B because this is the song which is sung against the angry emotion. It uses the words like 'We don't need no education' and 'Teachers leave them kids alone'. The languages suggest that in 1979 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Analysis Of Helft Mir Ihr Schwestern "Helft mir, ihr Schwestern" is song number five from Robert Schumann's song cycle Frauenliebe und –leben. The song cycle was set to the text of a poem cycle of the same name by Adelbert von Chamisso. Each poem in the cycle provides a glimpse into the story of a woman falling in love with a man, getting engaged and married to him, getting pregnant and having a child, becoming a widow and finally sharing her life story with her granddaughter. At the time that Schumann wrote this song cycle, he was going through a legal battle with his future wife's father over the right to marry her. This poem cycle contains themes of love, devotion, and longing that Schumann could personally relate with his feelings for Clara Wieck, who would soon become Clara Schumann. In this essay, I will demonstrate how Frauenliebe und–leben is directly reflective of Robert Schumann's own life experiences. In so doing, I will be analyzing the ways in which Schumann set the music in a fashion that emphasized the structure and emotional content of the poetry. In order to better understand the context of Robert Schuman's setting of "Helft mir, ihr Schwestern," I will first provide a general analysis of the song cycle as a whole. As Schumann set music to the various poems, he shifted the tonality to closely related keys, such as a fourth or fifth away, or shifting the relative or parallel major and minor keys. These shifts in tonality help emphasis the emotional development of the main character of the poems. The song cycle begins with a relatively slow and reflective song in the key of Bb major, where the main subject of the poem cycle first describes her feelings of intense, blind love for a man. The next song shifts the tonal center up a fourth to the key of Eb. In this song, the woman raises the man of her affection up on a pedestal of high praise, while she demeans herself to a lowly maid. Song three, moves the tonality to the relative minor of the previous song, C minor. This song is about the woman's disbelief that the man she adored so highly has fallen in love with her, and Schumann reflects that disbelief by making the music more erratic in tempo. He also emphasizes the disbelief by repeating the complete last stanza and then the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Song Of Songs In The Book Of The Bible The song of songs it is a well–known but not so well understood book of the Bible, it's 8 chapters of love poetry and while there are an introduction and a conclusion, the book doesn't have any kind of rigid literary design and that's because it is a collection of poems. They are not meant to be dissected or taken apart. They are meant to be read as a flowing whole and simply enjoyed. The first line of the book tells us that it is "the song of songs" which is a Hebrew idiom like, "the holy of holies" or "the king of kings" it is a Hebrew way of saying, "the greatest thing," this is the greatest song of all songs. We are told in the first line that this "song of songs" is of Solomon, which could mean that he is the author, his name does begin the book after all. But as I read the poems, I discover that the main voice of a woman, called "the beloved." And while there is also a male voice, it does not seem to be Solomon. Solomon is mentioned a couple times in the poem, but he's never a speaker, and you do have to admit Solomon is a very strange candidate as the author of this book, given the facts that he seven hundred wines. The "of Solomon" likely means "in the wisdom tradition of Solomon," he was known for his wisdom, his poetry, his love of learning about every part of life. Also, Solomon became the father of wisdom literature in Israel, his legacy is here carried on, through a collection of love poems that explore the human experience of love and sexual desire. • 38. Meaning Of The Song 'Beasts Of England' When writing a song, the song writer puts certain meanings behind specific words. When people read a song without the rhythm, they can put two and two together of what the meaning behind it is supposed to be. Each song has a different meanings and passions behind the words. In the song "Beasts of England", the meaning is very on the spot. Even though the meaning of the whole song is very blunt, it does not mean that in every stanza, that the meaning is as open. In the first stanza, the meaning is very well spoken. The animals are being referred to as beasts, so when they say, "Beasts of England, beasts of Ireland, Beasts of every land and clime, Hearken to my joyful tidings, Of the golden future time" (Orwell), they mean that the animals all around the world will all pay full attention, to make the rebellion successful. This is the start of the song, and the animals put the meaning of the start of the rebellion. The next stanza of the song sparks imagery. When they say,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The definition of passion is not only heartfelt, but it also means feeling strongly, or stubborn, so when the animals are singing this stanza they are putting out there how strongly they really feel, or how important this is to them. ... • 39. The Music Of Beethoven : The Period Of Classical And... FГјr Elise On December 17, 1770, one of the world's most gifted and greatest composers was baptized by the name of Ludwig Van Beethoven. Born in Bonn, Germany, Beethoven was well known for expanding the ideas of symphonies, sonatas, quartets, and concertos. Moreover, the music of Beethoven paved a way, as he became one of the most predominant and influential musical figures within the transitional period of classical and romantic eras. Growing up, life wasn't easy for Beethoven, he suffered from the loss of his mother at the age of 16 and his father, who was a court singer, was well known for being a chronic alcoholic. Therefore, Beethoven had to become independent at a young age and was left in charge of his three younger siblings, two of whom lived until they were adults. Beethoven's music ventures began when his father began teaching him music. However, it wasn't as pretty as it seemed. Beethoven's father would lock him in the cellar, depriving him of sleep, and making him practice rigorously as a child so that he could perfect the art. When his father past away, Beethoven was accepted to become an Assistant Court Organist and in 1787, the court sent him to Vienna to study with an infamous composer by the name of Mozart. When the Holy Roman Emperor Joseph died in 1790, Beethoven was invited to compose a musical memorial in his honor but for some reason never performed the piece. Later, Johannes Brahms discovered that Beethoven did indeed compose a piece entitled ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

So, after seven years of practice, I simply wanted to throw it all away in search of something new. However, I found this new path would quickly take me back to the 88 black and white keys.
