Potential hazard
Risk rating
(0:no risk,
5:high risk)
How can risk be managed and who is
responsible?
Weather 5 Wet or windy weather may cause disturbances when
filming, the wind could affect the sound making the
sound crackling and unclear. The wet weather could
potentially damage the equipment meaning we
would have to postpone filming.
Wildlife 3 This could be a problem while filming if a bird or
insect was to fly into the scene. Depending on what
part of the frame that the bird or insect was in then
gives me the option to re-film the scene or use the
footage as look as the main elements of the scene
are fully visible.
The public e.g dog walkers 3 The public could be a problem as they may interrupt
the filming process when they walk passed, or could
be talking and become part of the background noise
which is required to be quiet. This could be managed
by showing the people around that filming is
occurring.
Uneven ground 1 This could be a danger as the uneven ground could
cause one of the actors to slip or injure themselves.
The uneven ground could also affect the camera and
tripod which could in turn affect the angle of the
shot. This could be managed by trying to find a flat
surface to place the camera and tripod on.

How can risk be managed and who is

Weather 4 Wet or windy weather may cause disturbances when
filming, the wind could affect the sound making the
sound crackling and unclear. The wet weather could
potentially damage the equipment meaning we would
have to postpone filming.
Students/teachers 3 Students could be running late for school and interfere
with the filming processes. This could be managed by
signalling that there is filming in process. If there is
children in the background then this makes the film
more authentic however I will not be able to use that
footage without their permission.
Fire 5 A fire could happen outside, or in the school, or a fire
alarm could go off. These would delay the filming
process greatly, and if there is a fire alarm there could
be a lot of background noise. To avoid this I will check
with the front office if any fire drills will be happening,
and change my plans accordingly.
Slippery surfaces 2 If the surface is slippery, than there is a chance that an
actor could slip especially during the scene when Tom
(Harry) runs away. Before filming I will check to make
sure it is safe for the actor to perform the appropriate
action.
