Lh surge, ovulation question, please help?
i ovulated earlier this month, i know this because i took an ovulation test, i took another one
two days ago and today just to be curious and they both came up positive, what does this
mean? i know you cant ovulate twice in one month……
Pregnancy Advisor’s answers:
It is possible to ovulate twice in one month, but it is unlikely. Are your periods regular or
irregular?
If you are irregular, it is possible you consistently have a high LH level, which is one (of the
many) symptoms of PCOS. But it would be impossible to say that you have this without a
complete history, blood work, and an ultrasound. Just something to research. For more
symptoms and info go to http://www.youngwomenshealth.org/pcosinfo.html

RE: Ovulation LH surge Test. No surge on days 11-18. Normal
cycle 28 days, last cycle 30days, what is wrong?
My normal cycle is 28 days. My last cycle was 30 days. The 1st day of my last period was on
Thu Feb 22nd, and I started testing using Clear Blue Digital Ovulation LH Surge test on the
11th day of my cycle which was Sunday March 4th. ( Based on a 28 day cycle).
I have been testing for 8 days now, every morning when I wake up. So far no LH surge. I have
even had to buy a 2nd clearblue test kit because I ran out of the 7 test sticks included.
Have I missed my ovulation ? or is it still possible for me to have a late ovulation on days
19-22 on a 28-30 cycle ?
Please help.
Thanks
Julie
I have never tested for ovulation before, so I am not really sure. This is the 1st cycle I have
tried. But I am just wondering, should I continue testing thru the end of this cycle or stop and try
again next cycle. Is is possible to ovulate this late?
Pregnancy Advisor’s answers:
Is this the first time you are testing for ovulation? If not, have you tested positive for ovulation in
the past? It could be that you are not ovulating. Some females seem to have “normal” cycles of
2/6
3. 28 days and think they must be ovulating, but that is not the case. You can still get your period
every month around the same time and not be ovulating.
It is also possible that you are ovulating very late in your cycle, if that is the case and you are
TTC then you would have to see a doctor. The luteal phase has to be at least 12 days for the
implantation to occur.
You should also watch out for other signs of ovulation. Taking you BBT is a good way to know if
you have ovulated in your cycle.

Ovulation LH surge question HELP PLEASE!!!?
Is it possible to fall pregnant before your LH has reached its peak? I was ovulation testing last
week and i think i may have been ovulating before it showed up as its peak LH surge. Eg test
showed day before peak that i was ovulating, next day surge was stronger.. Could i still have
fallen pregnant if we didnt BD on that day?
Pregnancy Advisor’s answers:
Sperm can live in your CM for up to 5 days so yes you could have gotten pregnant. It is
probably quite unlikely, but possible.

Question about ovulation / lh surge and the 2ww!?
Hi, day 1 of mu last period was 3rd Oct and my clcles have settled down to about 31 – 35 days
(I have had two miscarriages, last one on 1st April 09). I have been using ovulation tests and
got my LH surge on 23rd October. I took a hpt yesterday and it was negative – could I just have
tested too early or is it probable I’m having alonger cycle again? I read somewhere that you will
def get your period about 14 days past lh surge – is this correct?! Any suggestions / advise
would be great! Thanks xx
Pregnancy Advisor’s answers:
No, you don’t definitely have a luteal phase of 14 days. A normal LP is anywhere from 10 (on
the low side of normal) to 18. Shorter or longer than that is considered a problem.
Also, counting from the LH surge doesn’t mean you’re counting from the day of ovulation! You
could O up to 36 hours after the +OPK and on some occasions, you may not O at all after a +,
and your body may surge again and then ovulate.
To learn more about your cycle and when you definitely O, try charting BBT.

Ovulation LH surge, had sex the other day?
IMe and My husband had sex on sunday night and Tuesday I checked my ovulation with a test
and I had a LHsurge. I am wondering could have been ovulating that day or Monday, and If
since I am ovulating today does this mean that I could become pregnant from Sunday since
sperm can last up to 72 hours????
Pregnancy Advisor’s answers:
No you havent ovulated yet. The OPK detect you LH surge which your body gives off 24-36 hrs.
BEFORE ovulation not after. And if you are TTC you should BD everyother day some sperm
can only live 36-48 hours so when the supply goes down, you get refilled!!!!!

6. Day 20 of cycle, but no LH surge or ovulation?
Hi all, can you help? I am on day 20 of my cycle today, normally LH surge gets detected day 19
and 20, but now, no LH surge, no ovulation?
Pregnancy Advisor’s answers:
I can’t b much help but keep and eye on it and if it persists see ur doctor.
Some healthy women dont ovulate every month and its perfectly normal or it may be ur going to
ovulate late
If it keeps happening it could be a sign of PCOS (don’t worry it might not be that bad if u have
it)
I wasn’t ovulating after my second miscarriage (I have pcos but do not have cysts- just elevated
testosterone) he prescribed me metformin 500mg once a day and I conceived first cycle on it.
Keep an eye on it if it keeps going see ur dr.
Good luck
