Lh Surge But No Ovulation

  1. 1. Lh Surge But No OvulationUnderstanding Luteinizing hormonehttp://lhhormone.orgMaria asks…Is LH still detected a week after ovulation?I am 7 DPO and just tracking my cycle to learn more about what is normal for my own body.Leading up to ovulation, I had a gradual fade in. My OPKs went from no line, to a faint line, tothe surge. Out of curiosity, I took an OPK today (I got really accurate but inexpensive ones, I’mnot just wasting the good ones). The OPK showed a faint line. Shouldn’t the LH drop to a levelwhere the test shows no line this far after ovulation? The only reason I ask is because I knowthat OPKs can detect hCG and seeing a line freaked me out. I’m not trying to conceive just yet.I also had a temperature drop today and cramping for two days. Is it normal for a little LH to bepicked up by the test a week after ovulation?Pregnancy Advisor’s answers:There is always LH in a woman’s body. I’m on cycle day 6, and I’ve been using OPK’s sinceCD 3. I’ve gotten a faint line on all of my tests, and I’m extremely early in my cycle. I’m notexpecting to O until CD 17 or so. 1/6
  2. 2. Donna asks…10 points for your Best Answer! About cramps after ovulation? This is Day 19 of my cycle. Last month my monitor detected my Lh surge on Day 12…soassuming this month I also ovulated around the same time, since probably Day 15 of my cyclehere I’ve had cramping- starting very mild but today is very uncomfortable period-like cramps. But no period, just in the 2ww here hoping for a BFP. How come I’ve got cramps so soon aftermy supposed ovulation? Pregnant?Pregnancy Advisor’s answers:Girrrrl….im in the same position right now. I had sex on the day I ovulated. I started cramping 4days after. And on the 5th day I spotted. I called my female doc and she told me to come in fora blood test today (which i did) but i think its kinda early for it to read plus i took a urine testsaturday and sunday and both came out negative. (like i said probably too early) are yourcramps more intense at night? 2/6
  3. 3. Betty asks…I’m confused about my ovulation, can someone please help?I ovulated on the 28th, but today i have a “egg white wetness” what does this mean?My husband and I have been ttc #1. I ovulated this cycle on May 28th. Today I am feeling wetdown there, so I checked it and it is a eggy white mucus, What does this mean? Should wehave sex tonight to help increase our chances of becoming pregnant? My LH surge was on the 26th and 27th, when should we have sex? Is it to late?No negative answers please.Pregnancy Advisor’s answers:If you ovualte dthe 28th you should have had sex for days befrore and after, it never hurts tohave sex now to increase your chancesRuth asks…Already O’d? Did I catch it? 3/6
  4. 4. So I decided to use an OPK this month (we are in our 2nd month of TTC.) According to mycalculations (OK the on line O predictors) I was supposed to O on the 13th. To get my POAS fixI tested on the 7th and got a fairly dark line. Not darker than the control line but it was there anddark. I tested again on the 9th and it was barely there and then again yesterday and there wasno line. How long after ovulation does the LH surge drop? I know it is soon but with that testresult would we have been too late? Is it possible we caught it in time? (All I am asking for is anopinion of the more experienced TTC’ers!) Hoping this is the month for us all! Baby dust! And, no. I’m not on amy meds.Pregnancy Advisor’s answers:You probably caught it. Sometimes those tests are so darn touchy. I know that if I don’t test atleast twice a day I miss my positive. Baby Dust!!!!Sharon asks…Is this implantation bleeding and can i be pregnant?TTC and using Clearblue ovulation kit…got LH surge (smiley face on pee stick) on 17th and18th. On 22nd, I got a very light pinky brown discharge after peeing and wiping 3 times in theevening. On 23rd and 24th – got it again in evening after pee and wipe 3-4 times. On 25th samething but more brown and no longer pink….On 26th (today) brown but getting much less. I amsupposed to get my period on 26th or 27th (my cycles are usually 25-26 days regularly) I don’twant to test yet and get a negative sign because it is early and I will be upset if it is negative. Can you help and share your experiences with getting pregnant and getting the implantation 4/6
  5. 5. bleeding? Thanks!Pregnancy Advisor’s answers:I didn’t really see any implantation bleeding. I wish you luck though!Susan asks…will it not happen again or do i still have hope?please help!?my miscarriage/D&C was on april 24th.i got a normal period may 12th and then another veryheav and painful period on june 1st.my period r always 28 days but the second period came 2days early.anyhow,i obviously didnt ovulate that month because i hardly had any cm and wewere having unprotected sex and still nothing.well my period ended june 6th and i took my first ovulation test today(too earl fo rme becaus eiusually ovulate around day 16).there was only the control line and no result line.i know i am notovulating but isnt there still supposed to be a lighter test line because LH hormone is alwayspresent in our body and when we get close to ovulation, there is a surge in LH that theovulation test picks up.then why wasnt there ANY line other than teh control line?dos it mean iwon’t be ovulating this month again??????!!!!! 5/6
  6. 6. Pregnancy Advisor’s answers: Negative Result: No Ovulation Surge Click a thumbnail to enlarge Only one color band appears on the top Control (C) region. There should be no apparent band on the Test (T) region. The control line is designed to validate the test and should be crisp and clear in intensity with white membrane background. Powered by Yahoo!
