The class will be divided up into two parts. Here are some of the topics we will cover:
First Class:
Lamaze’s Approach to Birth, Confidence in your body, support, place of birth, care providers, Benefits of natural birth and breastfeeding,
Addressing fears, HEALTHY PREGNANCY, LET LABOR BEGIN ON ITS OWN, INFORMED DECISION MAKING, Having Continuous
Support, Role of partner, family, friends, doula, nurse, midwife, physician, Role of Pain, WALK MOVE CHANGE POSITIONS IN LABOR
Second Class:
AVOIDING UNNECESSARY INTERVENTIONS, pain medications, narcotics, epidural Episiotomy, early cord clamping/Pitocin, Cesarean
Section, BIRTH UPRIGHT AND FOLLOW URGES TO PUSH, Positions: dangle squat, hands and knees, KEEPING MOM AND BABY
TOGETHER, Physical changes, common discomforts and coping strategies Belly mapping, Breast feeding basics, Postpartum
emotions/spectrum (exhaustion, blues, depression and beyond), Baby sign, Infant massage, Baby wearing, Support in postpartum.

I am currently in the process of becoming Lamaze certified to teach Lamaze birth education. I am offering this free class as part of my certification requirements. The class will
contain all the same information as a certified Lamaze class, but for free! However since I am not technically certified at this point I cannot officially call it a Lamaze class.
