Evaluation
For school contents and cover pages
My contents page conforms the
conventions of having a main
title because the title of my
contents page is big and
recognisable. It also has the
school logo next to it so that
the readers are familiar with
the product. The main body
of my contents page includes
a colour scheme running
through it this is because the
reader will be familiar with
the colour scheme, also
because the colours contrast
with the background.
My cover page also conforms and
develops conventions of real
media texts because the main
body has the same colour
scheme as the contents page,
this is so that it is easier for the
reader to recognise it and know
what the magazine is about. It
also shows consistency through
the colour scheme and chosen
fonts. My cover page also
includes one key image which
relates to the magazine. This
develops conventions of real
media texts because it shows
students with school uniform
and there are relevant stories
around it which are associated
with the key image such as
School Trips.
As my target audience is students
from the school. My product
represents this particular social
group because the stories and
headings from my contents page
includes tips for being organised
for exams. This represents
students because they will want to
read stories that attract them and
that will have a positive effect on
their education. The images used
represents students because it
includes students and also is about
their recent success's. This will
attract the target audience
because it will inspire them to be
successful for the school.
The school might distribute my
product because my cover
and contents pages are about
a school. Also because
students would love to read
my product as they are my
target audience and they
would be highly attracted to
the stories and key images in
my contents page. The stories
are also about students and
how to make student life a
little easier by following tips
that the school magazine
offers.
The audience for my media
product will be school
students. This is because all
of the key images and
stories will meet their need
and offers tips on making
their life easier. Also my
cover page has a key image
of school students and
have relevant stories
around it about school life.
I attracted the target audience
by using the school logo next
to the heading. This is because
it is easy to recognise that the
magazine is a school
magazine. Also by taking the
key images of students to add
familiarity and that the
students know that the
magazine is for them. The
stories would attract the
target audience because it
supplies tips on how to handle
exam stress easier and how to
get organised for school.
I learnt many skills about
technologies from the
process of constructing this
project. This is because I
used Adobe InDesign for the
first time. I learnt how to
construct both my contents
and cover page. I also used
Adobe Photoshop to edit out
some of my images. I
learned new skills on how to
edit images on Photoshop.
I learnt new things about the
production process through
this task. This is because I
learned how to place images
and text onto my product
through InDesign. Also I
learned how important
planning is on taking original
photography, this is because
it makes it easier to take the
images if I planned it. I
learned new skills on
Photoshop on editing certain
images and placing them
onto InDesign.

Evaluation

  • 2. My contents page conforms the conventions of having a main title because the title of my contents page is big and recognisable. It also has the school logo next to it so that the readers are familiar with the product. The main body of my contents page includes a colour scheme running through it this is because the reader will be familiar with the colour scheme, also because the colours contrast with the background.
  • 3. My cover page also conforms and develops conventions of real media texts because the main body has the same colour scheme as the contents page, this is so that it is easier for the reader to recognise it and know what the magazine is about. It also shows consistency through the colour scheme and chosen fonts. My cover page also includes one key image which relates to the magazine. This develops conventions of real media texts because it shows students with school uniform and there are relevant stories around it which are associated with the key image such as School Trips.
  • 4. As my target audience is students from the school. My product represents this particular social group because the stories and headings from my contents page includes tips for being organised for exams. This represents students because they will want to read stories that attract them and that will have a positive effect on their education. The images used represents students because it includes students and also is about their recent success's. This will attract the target audience because it will inspire them to be successful for the school.
  • 5. The school might distribute my product because my cover and contents pages are about a school. Also because students would love to read my product as they are my target audience and they would be highly attracted to the stories and key images in my contents page. The stories are also about students and how to make student life a little easier by following tips that the school magazine offers.
  • 6. The audience for my media product will be school students. This is because all of the key images and stories will meet their need and offers tips on making their life easier. Also my cover page has a key image of school students and have relevant stories around it about school life.
  • 7. I attracted the target audience by using the school logo next to the heading. This is because it is easy to recognise that the magazine is a school magazine. Also by taking the key images of students to add familiarity and that the students know that the magazine is for them. The stories would attract the target audience because it supplies tips on how to handle exam stress easier and how to get organised for school.
  • 8. I learnt many skills about technologies from the process of constructing this project. This is because I used Adobe InDesign for the first time. I learnt how to construct both my contents and cover page. I also used Adobe Photoshop to edit out some of my images. I learned new skills on how to edit images on Photoshop.
  • 9. I learnt new things about the production process through this task. This is because I learned how to place images and text onto my product through InDesign. Also I learned how important planning is on taking original photography, this is because it makes it easier to take the images if I planned it. I learned new skills on Photoshop on editing certain images and placing them onto InDesign.
