Bauer Media is a division of the Bauer Media Group; Europe’s largest
privately owned publishing Group. The Group is a worldwide media
empire offering over 300 magazines as well as online, TV and radio
stations.
They produce an extremely wide range of magazines of all genres.
Most of the magazines they produce are mainstream, for example
FHM, Kerrang, Closer and Q.
The target audience for Bauer is made up of a wide range of
people, Bauer produce magazines of all different genres from
music, mens lifestyle and gossip therefore the target audience all
depends on the genre of the magazine.
Not only do Bauer own magazines but they also offer Radio
Stations, for example 4Music and Kerrang which are both mainstream
and extremely popular, TV stations for example, Kiss, Q and Heat and
also online magazines like Empire, Grazia and Closer.
2. IPC Media –
With more than 60 iconic media brands, IPC creates content
for multiple platforms, across print, online, mobile, tablets
and events. IPC produces a number of mainstream magazines
of all different genres for example NME, InStyle and Nuts.
IPCs target audience is made up of more women than men
due to the magazine genres they produce that are more
focused towards women, like ‘Look’ and ‘Now’ but they still
have their male audience that are more interested magazines
like ‘NME’, ‘Nuts’ and ‘Uncut’
IPC don’t only produce print magazines they also produce
online, mobile, and tablet content.
3. Immediate Media –
Immediate Media Co is award-winning special interest content and
Platform Company and the third largest magazine publisher in the UK.
Immediate media produce mainstream magazines for example ‘’Top
Gear’’, ‘’ GoodFood’’ and ‘’Cbeebies’’.
Their target audience is made up of a wide variety of people from
young children, because of the Cbeebies and other children’s
magazines they produce, to older adults of all genders that would be
interested in all other types of magazines of all genres, like Wedding
magazines and food magazines.
Immediate Media also have online editions for their magazines,
reaching 22 million people online every month.
4. Development Hell –
Development Hell Ltd is an independent media company
based in Islington, London. Development hell produce niche
magazines, like ‘’Mixmag’’
Mixmag is the only magazine Development Hell produces at
the moment so the target audience for them would be people
that are interested in dance music because Mixmag is a dance
music magazine.
Development hell also produce the mixmag Ipad
app, mixmag.net, Mixmag TV, Mixmag Events and
