sides of the fingers
and palms

 Gottron’s papules,
which are
 scaly, erythematous
or violaceous,
psoriasiform plaques
occurring
 over the extensor
surfaces of PIP and
DIP joints,

6.  Periungual
telangiectasia.(nail-
fold capillaries are
often enlarged and
tortuous.)

7. Calcinosis cutis?
(common in children)

8.  Gottrons papules on
the knees.(extensor
surface)

9. Imaging.
 dystrophic
calcification in
muscles and soft
tissues (calcinosis
universalis).
 classically seen
affecting the thigh
regions
 chest radiograph
may show
diaphragmatic
elevation

10. Muscle biopsy
 Intense inflammatory
cell infiltrate in an area
of degenerating and
regenerating muscle
fibres.
