This document outlines the structure and components of a strategic plan. It discusses how firms start with an idea or vision and then evolve through developing products, analyzing strategies and markets, and defining their business. The strategic plan structure includes: an introduction and executive summary (Section A), the overall strategic plan with mission, goals and strategies (Section B.1), the detailed strategic plan analyzing the business, products, markets, competition, leadership and assets (Section B.2), forecasts and risks (Section B.3), and an implementation schedule (Section B.4). The purpose is to create and present a comprehensive strategic plan to guide a business.
