Spencer says Ben St Lawrence won the City2Surf on the weekend. He says the first person
across the line was Ron Gibson, a paraplegic from Wentworthville, on a hand cycle. He says
ParaQuad NSW, the Paraplegic and Quadriplegic Association of NSW, mentioned Gibson was
granted special exemption to start after the first gun. He says Gibson will not be considered the
official winner, although ParaQuad hopes his participation will pave the way for competitive
wheelchair racers and paracyclists to have their own status in the future.
