WASH YOUR HANDS, WEAR A FACE COVERING AND SOCIAL DISTANCE
• Wash your hands regularly for a minimum of 20 seconds.
• Hand washing and sanitisation points are available in the main entrances of all
buildings with additional sanitisation points inside.
• You must wear a face covering in identified zones on campus
• Follow social distancing guidelines at all times (2m distance or 1m+ when wearing a mask)

FACE COVERINGS
• These must be worn on public transport and when moving around campus.
Look out for the signs that will let you know if you’re in a face covering zone.
• If you are exempt from wearing a face covering, you can download an Exemption
Card from our dedicated Coronavirus web page. Expect Ambassadors in buildings to
ask to see your card and have it ready to present.
• If you forget your face covering, a limited supply will be available at our libraries,
sports receptions and from campus ambassadors located at prominent entry points to
buildings.
5. Staying safe and protecting others
whilst on campus
• Only visit campus when necessary.
• You cannot bring visitors on campus with you.
• Plan ahead, know the spaces you are visiting and allow extra time for travel and
moving around campus. There are one-way systems in place and restricted capacity
limits in some places.
• Ensure you carry your Campus Card at all times to allow entry to buildings.

7. Clinically Vulnerable and
Extremely Clinically Vulnerable
It is important for us to know if you are clinically vulnerable that you have a condition and
are considered at high risk from Covid 19 or extremely clinically vulnerable - that you
were issued with a shielding letter from your GP/NHS or you fall into one of the
extremely vulnerable categories. This information will help us to provide and send you
specific support information should it be needed.
Within Online Welcome, in the useful links tabs, there is a Clinically Vulnerable status
tab. Please complete the form. If you have any questions, please

9. If you start to have symptoms,
don’t come to campus.
Get tested immediately.
You can arrange to be tested yourself, check the national test booking site

OR
You can call NHS 111 for medical advice. The closest walk-in testing site to campus is
the Gryphon Sports Centre, Woodsley Rd, Woodhouse, Leeds LS2 9LZ.
10. Covid-19 Symptoms,
Testing and Reporting
STAY AT HOME OR IN YOUR HALLS
If you have symptoms or have tested positive you must self-isolate for 10 days in your
existing residence. Do not travel to stay with friends or family.
You may wish to tell those you have been in close contact with in the last 48 hours.
IMPORTANT - Housemates/family of those with symptoms or who have tested positive
should self isolate for 14 days. When moving into shared accommodation you become
one household.

12. Some further information
NHS TEST & TRACE
Information about your health status is very important. We are working closely with the
NHS, Leeds City Council and Public Health England as part of Test, Track and Trace to
manage infection control across the city.
Please cooperate with us and with the NHS Test & Trace Service if you are contacted.
HELP FOR SELF-ISOLATION
If you are self-isolating in halls and need any advice or are unable to obtain medical
supplies or food, details will be in your halls of residence about how to contact your
Residence Life Team.
If you are living in the Leeds community with a private landlord or in your own home,
you can seek support by contacting Leeds City Council and Voluntary Action Leeds

13. GP REGISTRATION
If you are living in Leeds and have not registered with a local GP, then please consider
registering with the Leeds Student Medical Practice

FLU & MMR VACCINATIONS
Please consider having a flu vaccination this year, you may be eligible for one from your
GP, if not you can walk into a chemist and pay for one. It is also important to check your
MMR vaccinations are up to date, you can check this with your GP.

14. Protect you and those around you
• Your Covid actions are not just about you, it is about all of us, the clinically
vulnerable, the elderly, staff in the NHS in Leeds, staff here at Leeds Beckett and
your family and friends at home who all need protecting.
• It is essential that you understand and comply with the laws surrounding Covid-19.
There are new enforcement powers of local authorities which make certain breaches
of the rules a criminal offence in relation to social distancing and large group
gatherings. In the most serious cases this may carry a fine of £10,000.
• You must comply with social distancing guidelines, do not meet or socialise in
groups of more than 6 people or in large group gatherings. Do not put others at risk
and ensure you understand the consequences or non-compliance.

• As part of your online enrolment, you have agreed to be bound by the Student
Contract, this includes our Student Code of Behavior.
• We want everyone to have the best possible student experience, so do everything
you can to keep yourself safe, those around you safe, follow the rules and help
protect each other and our wider Leeds community.
