COQ isnot the cost of producinggoodproducts,itisthe “Costof producingbad products” and repairing
or reproducingit again.To provide the customerswithqualityatlow prices,the costof achievingquality
needtobe reduced.Thiscanbe done, only if the quality system procedures executed are streamlined
and if the Cost of Quality is identified and measured. Therefore, it is very important for the
organizations to measure the Cost of Quality. Measuring Cost of Quality is not the solution to the
problem. One needstoreduce the costas well to achieve the goal of quality at low price. Reduction in
COQ can be achieved by various methods. One such method is to use SPC tools.

COQ reporting system will definitely bring benefits to the organization. However in India, the
implementation process is not that easy and every organization has to encounter various difficulties
duringthe implementationperiod. Thisresearchrevealed that COQ reporting can lead the company to
achieve higher levels product and service quality, ultimately higher levels of customer satisfaction.

Calculation of COQ Analysis of COQ for2 months Defects Analysis by SPC for 1 month
Development of Corrective Action Plan to reduce the COQ
