This model comprises of a process that helps the individual look at a situation and think about their thoughts and feelings at the time of the incident.
Reflective skills help us to think about what could have been done, so that if a similar situation occurs again the experience gained can be used to

Introduction Mental health is considered as an essential part of health in which an individual recognizes their full capacity to deal with pressures that
surround them, work productively and be of positive influence to society. World Health Organization [WHO] (2008) reported that Australia contributes
an estimate of 29.4% of neuropsychiatric on the global burden of disease. In 2015 the revised Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation [ANMF]
Policy states that the distribution of health care in mental health nursing requires skills and expertise for them to deliver a complete, broad and
universal mental health care to affected individuals. Thus, the sustenance of the mental health nursing should be given comprehensive, intensive and
sufficient support. This research will explore the perspectives of psychiatric nurses from different facilities regarding their reason in choosing mental
health nursing and remaining as mental health nurse (MHN). Findings will be used as a reference for the retention and recruitment of mental health
nursing. In health care, qualitative methodologies aim to explore complex phenomena encountered by nurses, other providers, policy makers, and

My interview is with a 27 year old male nurse by the name of Ryan Eads who has had experience with the mental health for the past 10 years. Eads is
currently employed in Rockford IL, at Swedish American Hospital. Prior to our interview I researched online just what questions to ask and
familiarize myself on basic terms to better understand what Mr. Eads would be informing me of.
While researching I found that Psychiatric nursing encompasses a fully holistic care model. A Psychiatricmental health (PMH) nurse must assess and
integrate a patient's medical, physical, social, cultural, socioeconomic, etc. considerations with his /her mental health concerns. Psychiatric nursing is
equal parts knowledge, compassion, and intuition leveraged by experience. Psychiatric nurses deliver care with a planned emphasis on addressing the
very areas of health and the mind that other nursing and medical disciplines view as an afterthought or footnote to the priority of physical/biological
care. Psychiatric nurses, by helping a client to improve and positively progress in their mental health, can impact that client's ability to maintain healthy
lifestyles, medical regimens, employability, community integration and productivity. Psychiatric nurses are essential to the real–time enhancement of
their client's quality of life.

Statistical data analysis plays a crucial role in the field of nursing. For this research paper, the focus is on the nonparametric test, T–test, and

The Effectiveness of the Peden Cognitive Behavioral Group Intervention in Preventing Depression with College Students
Purpose and Methodology The study conducted by Buchanan (2013) examined the effectiveness of the Peden cognitive behavioral group intervention
(CBGI) in preventing depression among college students. The purpose of the study was to address the research question: "What are the differences in
depressive symptoms, negative thinking, and self–esteem in college students who participate in the 4–week Peden–CBGI within the clinical setting?"
(Buchanan, 2013).
Based on a one–group, pre–test/post–test research design, the study targeted college students who were currently an undergraduate or graduate student,
enrolled in at least 6–credit hours, at risk for depression, provided informed consent, and fluent in English (Buchanan, 2013). Participants attended
group sessions, which focused on modifying risk factors (Buchanan, 2013). Group sessions lasted for 60 to 90 minutes and were scheduled once a
week for four consecutive weeks (Buchanan, 2013). From a total of 17 recruitments, five students failed to complete the study, leaving only 12
participants to be included in data analysis (Buchanan, 2013). The outcomes of the study, depressive symptoms, negative thinking, and self–esteem,
were measured by the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), Crandell Cognitions Inventory (CCI), and Rosenberg Self–Esteem Scale (RSES), respectively
(RSES) (Buchanan, 2013).

The aim of this utilization review is compare and contrast the global issue of mental health and shortage of nursing staff. Mental health is not the
primary choice of nursing students when they graduate, and there is a shortage of psychiatric nurses as the older generation is coming closer to
retirement. Across the states in Australia, studies have been conducted by Registered Nurses to survey and analyze nursing students and their field of
preference after graduation. From the studies analyzed in this literature review, mental health has the least number of interested future nurses. Four
articles, which included 2 qualitative researches, one quantitative, and one systematic review, were chosen to compare and contrast to each other. All
the articles chosen were studies done no earlier than 2007, and research must have been conducted by at least one nurse, and published in a peer review

individual level of healthcare experience. The ages widely swing between low twenties and upper thirties, mostly likely providing a great number of

Exploring Nursing Literature: Anti–Stigmatization Programs on Nursing Education "60% of people with a mental health problem or illness won't seek
help for fear of being labeled." ("Opening Minds", 2017) These people are dealing with the stigma which surrounds mental health, which is
discouraging people from seeking the treatment they need. This stigma is not just present in society, the workplace and with family and friends but,
also within the healthcare system. While patients are surrounded by people who are taking care of them and should be showing the most compassion,
stigma is still present through how people are talked to and treated. To lessen the amount of stigma surrounding mental health, programs such as Open
Minds, through the Mental Health Commission of Canada are created. These programs aim to reduce stigma by creating an environment where people
feel free to seek treatment and support for their illnesses. ("Opening Minds", 2017) In the article "''They are Us–We are Them'': Transformative
learning through nursing education leadership" the authors Stephanie Knaak, Jane Karpa, Renee Robinsin and Louise Bradley describe an

Part II Looking back at the patient in case 1, it is important to look at other ways to treat the patient 's depression. The patient's depression lead to
other things, like her hopelessness and anxiety, as addressed in my nursing diagnoses. It is often helpful to look outside of medicinal practices to find
ways to help our patients. I was able to find literature addressing interventions that discussed relaxation techniques to help patients with depression,
more specifically music therapy. I wanted to answer the clinical question: does music therapy improve depression among older adults? I wanted to
look at a population of older adults, since my patient was 87, and the intervention of music therapy as opposed to no intervention, and the outcome of
improved depression. I found two articles on this topic: Effect of music on depression levels and physiological responses in community–based older
adults (Moon Fai Chan, Engle Angela Chan, Esther Mok, and Fionca Yuk Kwan Tse, 2009) (Article 1) and Effects of music on depression in older
people: a randomised controlled trial (Moon Fai Chan, Zi Yang Wong, Hideaki Onishi, and Naidu Vellasamy Thayala, 2011) (Article 2), which both
