preparation of observation material

2. Objective : To prepare the slide to observe
plant cell.

3. Materials required : Plantain root, blade,
petridish, watch glass, brush, stain, glycerine,
water, glass slide, cover glass, tissue paper,
needle.

4. 1. Put the material to be observed in the petridish
containing water to prevent dehydration.
2. Take thin cross sections of the material to be observed.
3. With a brush, shift the sections to a watch glass
containing water
4. Put the thinnest and complete sections to a watch glass
containing stain.
5. Add one or two drops of glycerine to the slide to prevent
drying up the material.
6. Wash the stained section in clean water and place it in
the glycerine on the slide.
7. Place a cover glass over the material using a needle in
such a way that air bubbles do not pass.
8. Wipe out the excess glycerine using tissue paper.

6.  Plant cell is observed.
 It has numerous tiny cells .
