Chin Background, Current Situation And Development
Education in China: Background, Current situation and Development
Thirty years of the reform and opening–up 30 years after 1978, China continues to recover, discover, develop and reform the Chinese education. The
majority of people believe the Chinese education has many problems which need to change and learn the other countries' education systems. However,
it needs time to adjust the Chinese situation and find a suitable way to reform Chinese education because Chinese history and population are different
with other countries. Therefore, it cannot totally deny this education system and directly and simply copy other countries' educational system, but it
also needs to realize that it has many drawbacks and negative parts, such as cramming methods of teaching, lack of creativity and repeating knowledge.
It should find the root reasons why Chinese education like this and why the reform does not solve the problems, if want to find an excellent way to
promote Chinese educational development.
There are three root reasons why Chinese schools pay more attention to the scores and tests without caring about students' personality and abilities.
Firstly, the scores are the direct and simple standard to examine a student how much knowledge they handle. A large number of populations in China,
nearly 70 or 80 students are studying in every class; in other words, teachers do not have much time to consider every student's personality and give
their more attention. Therefore, schools and

The Education Of The United States And China
Modifying Education in the United States and China
Perhaps there is nothing more imperative to the success of a nation today than the education of its people; developed education leads to innovation, an
improved economy, and, possibly most importantly, a confidence from society about government. The rise of every great nation has been preceded by
advancing education. Although education has been mostly examined from the perspective of higher education in the past, this lens fails to provide an
adequate picture of the average citizen. Students now attend higher education at larger percentages than they did 50 years ago; nevertheless, the only
mandatory education that a citizen receives is as a minor, under the age of 18. Developed nations ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nonetheless, China's leaders have done a magnificent job, particularly in the last 10 years, of changing international perception about their international
goals and their trustworthiness. More people around the world have a positive image of China now than they have had in the past 50 years.
The United States, on the other hand, has seen a decrease in their global status since the 1980's. Although it remains a Superpower, more and more
American citizens believe that their days as a hegemon are behind them and that their leadership on the world stage is diminishing. This dying belief
in American exceptionalism is a problem for the US. In order to achieve many of its domestic and international goals, a democratic government needs
the support of its people, and if the people decide they are no longer capable of, or interested in, being the world leader, their position at the "top" is
unsustainable. In the future, this waning attitude of exceptionalism is likely to change the way that America interacts with both its allies and its
adversaries.
Despite their differences in language and culture, China and the United States actually have many striking similarities, one of them being that they are
two of the most populated countries in the world. Although the population of China is more than threefold that of the US, both countries understand
the struggle of protecting and providing for an enormous

The Field Of Tesol, The Causes And Prevention Of Plagiarism
Title
Discuss a current controversy in the field of TESOL, the causes and prevention of plagiarism, taking into account the academic debate and your own
experience as a teacher/learner, and giving your own views. In your discussion you should refer to the articles indicated below and two other sources
you identify for yourself.
Introduction
As plagiarism of multilingual students arouses increasing consideration of public (Swoden, 2005a), there are controversies concerning causes and
preventions of this immoral academic practice. TESOL would be considered as a suitable standpoint to analyze the plagiarism issue of students of
other languages, for it involves a great percentage of international students and uses essay to be the major form of assessment. This paper analyzes
the debate of Swoden (2005) and Liu (2005) about reasons and preventions of plagiarism in the field of TESOL. Related references and personal
experience will be mentioned as supports.
Causes and Prevention of Plagiarism

The Problem Of Education Inequality In China
Introduction
Nowadays, China's total population account for about one–fifth of the world's population and China's GDP ranks second in the world. So China's
development has drawn world attention. Meanwhile, China is also trying to provide other developing countries with models which can be used to solve
relevant issues. Since the reform and opening–up, China's education developed rapidly and achieved good results, but there are some problems, of
which there is still considerable gap between urban and rural education (Jie, 2008). There is no doubt that education is the intellectual support for the
progress of a nation, and the basic rights of citizens. Achieving educational equality in urban and rural areas can promote and support the
development of China's economy. This is because if a large number of students, especially rural students, are able to receive more and better education
to a large extent, China's human resources structure can be adjusted and social human capital can be improved (Yaou, 2011). However, educational
inequality in urban and rural areas in China has long been influenced by the economy. The economic gap between urban and rural areas is seen as the
main diver of educational inequality in urban and rural in China (Wu and Treiman, 2004). Solving educational inequality is a very real problem faced
by the current economic development. However, if there are still institutional differences between urban and rural areas, the problem of educational
inequality

Are Websites Beneficial For A Secondary Special Education...
For this assignment, I decided to use http://www.nsttac.org/ and http://www.ncset.org/ to research and discuss. I believe that both websites would be
beneficial for a secondary special education teacher for many reasons. I was a little lost when researching the websites because I do not know what
most of the information is talking about, but I think a secondary special education teacher would. Both websites had a lot of information on how to
create opportunities for youth with disabilities to achieve successful futures. The website, http://www.ncset.org/, focused on four major areas of
national significance for youth with disabilities and their families, which include: providing students with disabilities with improved access and success
in the secondary education curriculum, ensuring that students achieve positive post school results in accessing postsecondary education, meaningful
employment, independent living and participation in all aspects of community life, supporting student and family participation in educational and post
school decision making and planning, and improving collaboration and system linkages at all levels through the development of broad–based
partnerships and networks at the national, state, and local levels. Given this information a secondary special education teacher can look on this

Obstacles Of Bilingual Education In China
Obstacles of Bilingual Education in China With the relentless internationalization and marketization of higher education in the past several decades,
English has been more and more used as an instruction at universities in the world, also Chinese colleges have become internationalized, that students
can use English in different subjects more and more. Although Ministry of Education of China has chosen teaching bilingual language only at the turn
of the century, other developed countries started teaching bilingual education several decades ago. Because the bilingual education in colleges and
universities of China faces kinds of problems, the bilingual education does not achieve an ideal effect under many conditions (Gu, T., 2010); however,
there are several analyses that can better understand problems in bilingual education in Chinese colleges for discerning the relationship between
bilingual education and teaching foreign language, lacking qualified original English teaching materials, and limited English proficiency students.
There are several definitions of bilingual education. So as the teaching strategy, the definition of bilingual education should be taking mother language
and foreign language (mainly English due to its wide popularization) as the teaching media and help students master the specialty knowledge (Gu, T.,
2010). Using bilingual education can improve students' knowledge scope, horizons, and their major knowledge bettering the economic globalization. If

Reflection About Education In China
We get education everyday. It can not seen or touched. But education obviously has a huge impact on our individual, society, nation, and all aspects of
our lives. I am a student from China. I think the understanding of education is very different under different cultures. In this essay, I will combine my
educational experience in China and the learning experience in module 1 to objectively analyze education from different perspectives. And I'll explain
what I've changed in understanding and thinking about education in module1's learning process.
For me the most meaningful is compulsory education in China. It's not only free, but also mandatory. So it ensures that everyone can receive education.

Students are a kind of social existence. And schools should cultivate a correct social environment.(Dewey,1916) Through the module 1's lectures and
after–school reading, I changed the inherent concept of education, that education is only school education. Now I realize education can not be
considered independently society. Education should not only teach the basic knowledge of disciplines, but also the solution to problems, critical
thinking, social responsibility, group cooperation and social skills.
Besides, my learning style has also changed. In the past, my learning method was very passive, the teacher let me learn so I learn. But during learning
process of module 1,I acquired the self–study skills. Before class, the lecturer will give the required power points, the articles the lecturer has written,
and some useful bibliographies. I spent a lot of time reading before class. Because I wanted to know what the lecturer was going to talk about in the
class. Emphasizing students as the center in class, I can put forward my point of view and doubts at any time on class, and the lecturer will answer it
for me immediately. This learning mode motivates me to learn actively.
At the same time, tutorial after class is very helpful to me. I can communicate with classmates from different countries. Tell them about my confusion in
the usual study, most of them give me a lot of different views, and the tutor also answered a lot

Families Should Encourage their Members to Seek an Education
How important is education? Do family issues really affect the way one views education? If so why are or aren't families taking full advantage of
the unlimited financial resources such as federal, state, local, and corporative aid and grants made available to them? Especially since financial aid,
grants, and scholarships are becoming so very easy to attain; and careers with rising salaries can provide a much needed boost for our society,
economy, and one's financial stability. With a post secondaryeducation and stable career student loans and other expenses can then be repaid on time.

Especially if that child shows no interest in furthering their education, also if that child is the type that procrastinates and does things on their own
agenda or simply because that child has not been informed of the importance of a post secondary education. This is where a family's guidance and
assistance becomes important even if it's just to inform them as to how they'd go about receiving financial assistance, what their major or concentration
should be in regards to their future career choice.
There's quite a number of ways by which one can receive financial assistance to attain a post secondary education; by taking advantage of the unlimited
financial resources made available to their disposal. There's federal, state, local and corporative aid, grants, and scholarships available for individuals
that would like to continue their education. Most post secondary institutes will even assist their students with finding financial aid because it's as
beneficial (in the sense of losing a student to another school) to them just as much as it is for the students.
The value of education is so appreciated that it's becoming more and more evident in terms of attaining a job or pursuing a career. In today's society
one's education status determines their career options. Being that there's a high demand in certain fields such as medicine, education, pharmaceutical,

Government and Nursing Organizations Influencing Nursing Education: Comparison of Poland and China
Poland
In Poland, various organizations have influenced the nurse education and training. In 1925, the International Council of Nurses (ICN) accepted the
establishment and membership of the Polish Nursing Association of Professional Nurses. ICN membership allowed access to international nursing
heritage, the possibility for internal cooperation and comprehensive assistance. In 1926, the Polish government established the first nursing section in
the Ministry of Health. This section was responsible for the coordinating nursing education activities in the country. In 1935, the Polish parliament
(1935) passed an Act on Nursing which defined nursing practice and the manner, curriculum and duration of nursing education (2.5 years). In 1998, the
Ministry of Health appointed expert nursing faculty who developed minimum curricular requirements for 3–year nursing studies based on European
standards. In 2000, another experts cooperating of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education completed the strategic plan for nurses'
transformation. And in 2001, the National Accrediting Board for Medical Education in the Ministry of Health was created and tasked to accredit nurse

Ethnic Minority Education in China: Finding a Path...
Ethnic Minority Education in China: Finding a Path between Tradition and Development
Introduction
Educating a nation is no simple task. Even in the United States–which boasts a substantial tradition of public education, political stability, economic
prosperity and a strong middle class–issues such gender and racial equality, diversity, and budget reality still cause continuous debate. For a nation like
China, the task of educating its people is even more daunting. China has a population of 1.3 billion, an economy that is still developing, and thus even
more stringent budget constraints. And although abandoning command economics for the free market in 1977 allowed double–digit economic growth
through the 90's, the now–uneven ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is no coincidence that many of the poorest and least–educated areas in China today are heavily populated by ethnic minorities. To begin with, not all
minority groups are motivated to seek education–for some, such as nomadic tribes, the uniform national curriculum in China has little bearing on life
within the minority society. Others, such as the Tibetans, traditionally favor religious education for boys, and discourage education for girls (Lee, 40).
For minorities who are not indifferent to formal education, structural barriers persist. Minority children often grow up speaking their native tongue,
which puts them at a disadvantage in the Mandarin–oriented system of formal education. Many fall behind early, and drop out because they lose hope
in ever catching up. Poverty is another barrier against educational advance, especially given the fact that market reforms have taken away many of the
services that used to be provided by the state. Public education is no longer free, so many children leave school because greater output on the farm
results in more income for the family. Also, since minorities are not subject to China's one–child policy, having a greater number of children often
means that the family cannot afford to send them all to school. Within the region or village, shortage of funds means that schools, qualified teachers,
and adequate facilities are often few and far

Introduction Education has become such an important foundation for people all around the world. Education differs from country to country.
Education is very unique, education in the United States is not the same as it is in China. How can one explore their differences? Well, one can
explore the importance of education, the education systems, higher education and the financial costs of education in both the United States and China.
Importance of Education
People all around the world attend school. Most countries have their children begin at a young age, at about five years old. According to the United

Education is the key to more successful and stable future. It is very difficult to obtain a high paying job without any kind of education or schooling.
Some jobs allow their employees without higher education to attend training to better prepare them for their job. Education is a necessary foundation to
success and improvement. Education is an essential, but education differs and varies throughout the world. In China and the United different traditions
and customs are applied to educate their citizens. How different are their education systems, their higher learning, and their cost of education? To
explain their differences their similarities also need to be addressed.
Education System in the United States In the United States the basic academic year for a student begins in August or September and ends in May or
June. In the United States, students begin their education at about age five when they are obligated to attend Kindergarten; parents may choose so send
their children to pre–school which is a nursery school made for children who are too young for kindergarten, but it is not mandatory. After a child
attends kindergarten they begin to attend elementary school which is typically between first and fifth grade. They then proceed

Public medical education in China and India has a long history that has been both intensely responsive to the exclusive needs and medical customs of
each country, and sensitive to global influences [1]. Medical education is the foundation for the establishment of a good health care system. Medical
schools are making major changes in the structure and organization of the curriculum, adopting innovative pedagogical strategies for enhancing
students learning, improving the methods used to assess students' performance, and focusing better consideration on the professional development of
faculty as teachers and educators. Based on these remarks, it is obvious that a major transformation is now under way in the education of medical

Health education improves the health status of individuals, communities, states and the nation. It develops the eminence of life for all people and
reduces costly premature deaths and disability. Learning opportunities help students and doctors to explore knowledge, exposure to a diverse patient
population, flexible scheduling, and excellent clinical facilities in both the private and the public sectors related to health promotion, chronic disease
management, primary prevention and primary care.
Medical students can able to pursue a variety of improving, research, and clinical experiences in universal health. Documenting the relationship
between education and patient outcomes represents one of the biggest challenges and greatest opportunities in medical education research.
CURRENT CHALLENGES IN MEDICAL EDUCATION
Medical education faces several important challenges [4]. Some are identified by conducting extensive researches on the education system, the
curriculum, assessment, quality of the faculties, technology, student happiness, etc. There are very few researches shown and even fewer researchers.
Improving research standards in medical education are another challenge, it suggests that high excellence, applicable research requires more

Higher Education In China
The most prominent feature of China's higher education over the past twenty years is the shift from elite education to massive expansion of students'
enrollment in colleges and universities (Morgan and Wu, 2011). The large scale expansion nationwide began in 1999 followed by the policy of Action
Plan to Vitalize Education in the 21st Century (MoE, 1998). According to the statistics of Ministry of Education, 1.1 million of students were admitted
to higher education in 1998, and this number got to 1.6 million in 1999, an increase of 48%. The expansion continued to increase in the subsequent
years by an average of half million annually. By 2011, the number of newly enrolled students reached to 6.75 million (Yu, 2014). However, the amount

Background of China Higher Education Expansion
Since the Opening–up policy and economic reform from 1978, China has been in great demand of high level intellectuals to build the country, and has
witnessed a modest expansion in higher education student admission and a steady increase in set–up of higher educational institutions. However, with
the rapid development of China's economy and society, the Chinese government had made a policy in 1999 to reform its higher education systems with
two key aims, expanding higher education and building world class universities. Thereafter, the number of student intake in higher education has
experienced a blow–out increase, from 1.1 million in 1998 to 6.75 million in 2011, up six times in enrollment. Furthermore, there has been a dramatic
increase in establishment of new educational institutions, a large number of secondary and private colleges included. However, the number of
secondary vocational schools has seen a significant decline since 1999. According to Zhang and Sheng (2008)

Comparison of: Political History and Development of Nursing Education between China and Poland Chinese modern nursing started its evolution in the

government that abolished the practice collapsed in 1977, the practice came back to normal but left a gap of 30 years deficit in practice and
development of the nursing profession. Therefore, China's nursing practice was significantly influenced by the political climate particularly the

toughest exam being sat in China in which the student have to get high mark to get enrolled into a good university. For those student who fail the
exam they have the option of resit the exam, opt out of the exam for employment opportunity or sitting alternative exam system like the SAT. The
experience is very painful for student who sits gaokao for the very first time. Student prepare 12 years for these two of their most important date in
their life (7th of June– 9th June). Most of the student would be relieved when they walked out of that exam room by the end of each days. You don't
have a choice of what subject to choose. Math, English and Chinese are the three compulsory Gaokao subject you have to take and you can choose one
additional science subject of your choice. Students in the last year at high school revise 17 hour each day to tackle the Chinese Gaokao examination.
They have to suffer homework, reading books every night and they don't go out to play. Other than curriculum education student also participate in after
school activities such as badminton, calligraphy, and piano and violin lesson. They have a very busy year and it is very stressing for them as they have

The Education System Of Nigeria
1.0Introduction
Education is said to be act or procedure of bestowing or securing general learning, building up the forces of thinking and judgment, and by and large of
setting oneself up or others mentally for experienced life. The Ministry of Education is responsible for education in Nigeria. The education framework
in Nigeria is separated into Kindergarten, primary education, secondary education and tertiary education.
2.1Foundation Problem
The present example of Nigeria Education system, especially the Tertiary Institutions has been an issue of sensitivity to the general public, government
organizations, companies, educationists, investors (home and abroad), graduates and diverse establishments. This paper took a gander at the present
state of education as far as the admission process, educational modules, academic staff, students, funding, facilities, industrial collaborations, roles of
government agencies and how it has affected the quality of graduates produced that has ultimately led to an increased level of unemployed graduates
from Nigeria Tertiary Institution.
2.2 Overview of Nigeria Economy
Nigeria is as often as possible implied as the "Giant of Africa", inferable from its inconceivable people and economy. With around 184 million
occupants, Nigeria is the most jammed country in Africa and the seventh most swarmed country on the planet. Nigeria has one of the greatest masses
of youth on the planet.
Starting 2015, Nigeria was named the world 's

Future Predictions
By 2020, the population of global higher education students is expected to increase by approximately 21 million to 190 million students. Of those, it is
expected that the demand for an English language–based post–secondary education will increase by 750,000 (Ruby 2013). Information compiled by
Alan Ruby indicated that, of the students in this category it is Canada's goal to recruit approximately 210,000 students; Australia hopes to obtain
around 100,000 students; the United Kingdom could enroll 30,000 students; if the United States gained its current market share (18%) of the
forecasted 750,000 students, 135,000 students would be enrolled in U.S. programs (Ruby 2013). Based on these estimates, about 275,000 students ...

Finding a willing entity to provide space or collaboration may prove a complex endeavor (Lane 2013a).
In order to save money and reduce branch start–up time, some institutions have elected to join an educational hub. These campus hubs are partnerships
between several international branch institutions and share facilities and services such as student residences, food services, libraries, and medical
facilities. Institutions participating in a hub can also benefit from joint branding and recruiting efforts. The level of cooperating inside each hub will
vary; this model may necessitate compromise regarding an institution's standards and expectations (Stanfield 2013). In one example of a hub, Education
City in Qatar, students are able to cross–register for classes between participating institutions. This practice could be beneficial to institutions hoping to
offer undergraduate programs (Stanfield 2013).
The wholly owned model is being replaced by a partnership with joint ownership and operation with a host country university. This model reduces the
financial risk of the exporting country (Homayounpour 2012). China has made is clear that this will be the preferred model for international branch
campuses moving forward. In fact, the Ministry of Education in China mandates that foreign institutions form a legal partnership with a local Chinese
university (Stanfield 2012).
There are instances in which exporting institutions are unencumbered by financial

Differences Between America And China
When we compare with America and China, we will find that there are so many differences between this two countries, and here I mainly talk about
their difference in education in this paper. Throughout all kinds of points among their differences, we can sum up to six aspects: the study style, the
importance of education, the method of teaching, examination and the purpose of education. First, American Education tells students that study is just
to study for themselves for the purpose of making them study without stress from their parents and society and letting them to think, to learn about they
want, which makes American students learn flexibly and actively. With regard toChina Education, it always makes some complex regulations for
students to tell them learn what should be learned, how to learn and even when they should learn. As a result, students in China regard study as one
kind of task, and get used to dealing with the homework and examinations, they do the study more like a workers than students. Second, as for the
aspect about the purpose of education, America Education attaches a little importance to the study on basic knowledge but thinks highly of the
cultivation of creativity, while in China, education pays more attention to the basic knowledge and ignores the cultivation of students 'creativity and
thinking abilities. Therefore, in America students who get low grades tend to have high ability while in China students who get high grades don't have

The American Dream: The Land Of Opportunity
America is known as to many as "The Land of Opportunity". It is supposed to be the place where people from all over come to work for their
success, that success being the "American Dream". Now if this is truly the case then every American should have the chance at the American
Dream, but do all have the opportunities achieve such a goal? In America there is a large range of incomes between the citizens, some doing very
well all the way to others who are making just enough to get by. Now, I do believe that all American's have a chance to live a financially successful
lifestyle, even if they come from an underprivileged background. We have all heard the stories about the guy from the projects getting out and having a

No matter what your income is all children have the opportunity to attend school. Not only do they get to, but they are legally required too until a
certain age. All of this schooling helps prepare the child for living in the world, working, and maybe even receiving a post secondary education. Now
many would say that you don't need a college or even high school graduation to be successful, which is true, but many statistics suggest the rarity of
that. Source D is a document from the Congressional Budget Office that provides a list of percentages, that connect characteristics of a person and
whether or not they have a low–wage job (described as being less than $11.50 per hour). One group of characteristics is based on the level of completed
education. It shows how 58% of people without a highschool diploma are working in a "low–wage" job, while 70% of graduates are receiving a non
low–wage salary. By just completing high school a person will have a much better chance at a good job than that of a non–graduate. Secondary
education is also important in a person's road to a good income. The chart also displays how 93% of those with a Bachelor's degree will move onto
having a good paying job. Source F also provides information that suggest the importance of a post Secondary Education. Author David Brooks
goes on to say that, " Over the past several decades, the economic benefits of education has steadily risen... the average college graduate makes 75%
more (than those who didn't)". In the article he also goes on to discuss the relationship between college graduates and their family lives. According to
the Brooks, graduates will have a better marriage, health, relationships to others, etc... It also includes how children of graduates are more likely to
follow in the same footsteps and earn a degree. Education is a very important part to a person's life. The level successfully completed could ultimately

Different regions and cultures made different ways of educating. Asia always dominates in the rankings of the OECD on the PISA (Worldwide study

scholastic performance in mathematics, science, and reading.) tests. More specifically, China has always ranked in at least the top 10. In the 2012
release of the OECD rankings, Shanghai China ranked number one on all reading (570), Mathematics (613) and Science (580) tests while the United
States ranked 36th in mathematics, 25th in reading and 28th in science. The United States scarcely ranks in the top 10. Why? China and the United

To get into not only the top Chinese high school, but any well educated public school involves a lot of competition and hard work. Sometimes the
student does not have the "brain" to make it so they have to go to an alternative talent: Music. If the student can show extraordinary talents in music,
then that is another way to be accepted into high quality high schools. Many young Americans complain about their early mornings, 7 hour days and
ACT/SAT tutoring, clueless to the young Chinese students strenuous, competitive lives. The competition young Chinese students experience is an
impressive amount. Americans have been known for their lack of effort and feeling that the world revolves around them. The lack of effort is why
America falls so behind in the rankings. In the essay "This Is Water", David Foster Wallace mentions that by having the "choice of what to think
about," we are able to switch gears and change our mood. This explains that Americans need to be more aware and complain less about their lives and
surroundings. Americans want nothing but to be successful, have a big house and lots of money. That will not come if they do not switch their
mindsets to something more sanguine. David Foster Wallace also notes that "Other people 's thoughts and feelings have to be communicated to you
somehow but your own are so immediate, urgent, real –– you get the idea". (Wallace) Wallace is explaining that Americans are the center of

The Issues Of The United States
Globalization continues to be present in and influence every aspect of our lives. We now we cannot stop it, but we have not caught up to it yet.
America has become complacent in their status and ability. After so long of being on top, suddenly we are not. Times have changed and the country no
longer enjoys the edge it once had. We must innovate once again and invest in our future. TheUnited States has not kept pace in the face of
globalization and must get back on track to remain a leader in the trade, financial and scientific world.
The issues raised are eye–opening as well as unsettling for being somewhat invisible in the political and social atmosphere. One of the issues is that
Americans lack ambition because they are not shown and taught it anymore by their professors and mentors. A combination of top–dog status and an
inefficient government has led to the problem we have today. Being the top for so long makes you believe you will always be best, but youneed to keep
innovating if you want to be competitive with places like China and India. In the United States and other countries, politics runs rampant. Politicians
want to do any numbers of things more than they want to build their country. They want to get reelected, destroy their political rivals, sponsor their own
pet projects and maintain their cozy relationships with industry. Things have not changed since the book was published, in fact they are worse.
Countries like China and India continue to

Education and Welfare
Education is the key staple to furthering the life standard for all humans. So why is it that the collectors of welfare and public aid are statistically the
ones with the least amount of education? Within this paper I plan to address this issue and those that contribute to education, or lack there of, for welfare
recipients. I feel this issue has a great deal to do with race, gender and lack of equality in all aspects of public policy.
Let us start at the beginning. Most women on welfare were raised in homes that collected welfare. This is the first major issue. Unfortunately, poverty
and collection of welfare are often an issue that relate mostly to women with children. Not men or married families, but women who are in turn the ...

it could take
В•900 hours of education and training for minimally (similar to high school dropouts/NALS Level 1) skilled welfare women to move up to the basic
level (similar to below average high school graduates /NALS Level 2);
В•200 hours of education and training for basic skilled recipients to move up to the competent level (similar to people with some postsecondary
education/NALS Level 3); and
В•200 hours for competent skilled welfare women to move up to advanced skill level (similar to people with a bachelor 's degree or more/NALS Level

According to this information, if the States would put the money into training and educational classes for literacy, specialized trade and post– secondary
education it would greatly decrease dependence. However many states choose not to implement such programs and choose only to get welfare
recipients into the workforce with minimal training prior. When states choose such options it often leaves the recipient and their family in poverty.
Also, with the new limits on availability of public aid being reduced to 5 years, if the new job that they are forced to take does not work out, they can
not go back to welfare because time limits have run out.

My College Experience
"There are no secrets to success; it is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure" (Powell). The experiences that I have went
through have not been an easy route. I have learned many things, ranging from mathematics to science, English, and history. As I have progressed
through grade levels , each subject was instructed in different ways. When I reached high school, I started to learn the major details that I needed to
know in order to prepare myself for the next level. For the past three years of high school, I believe this experience has helped teach me the
responsibility which I need to know to prepare myself for a higher education. First off, the reason why I believe that I am college and career ready is,
because I have learned all of the information that I need to know to further my schooling. Being college and career ready means that a student is
academically prepared and has the knowledge and technical skills required for employment in their desired career field. College is a place for any
specialized education, and as for post secondary education, it is supposed to help an individual prepare themselves for life.
One reason mathematics has helped me prepare myself is by knowing how to multiply and add or subtract numbers. If I did not know how to, I
would not have things to take for granted. I must say that math is a hard subject to understand; it is very logical. Math is implemented in every aspect
of life; it is used in other subjects

2014. A year to remember. Its complicated history is not just because of the epic failure that happened on the opening of the Winter Olympics in Sochi,
Russia when the Olympic rings failed to light up, but because of another momentous but not so prominent event taking place: the release of the PISA

Chinese students are starting to stream into top universities and high schools likes swarms of bees (making up about 18.5% of all foreign students),
many western governments are starting to analyze what makes these students so successful. That is, however, not the problem. The problem is... Show

Of course, the western world is not inane, so there must be a basis that they crave of the Chinese education system and they try to institute another style
of learning into the western society. Consequently, there is. There are significant reasons why the Chinese education system should be learnt. Since
China is a massive country with roughly 66.87 million students in 2009, the system, relying profoundly on exam–oriented education, seems like a
logical and sensible way of developing endowed minds worthy of academic success. It worked without a shred of doubt. This system brought up some

can expect for its future. In 1949 The People's Republic of China was formed by the Communist party. This happened after much struggle between the

The Chinese educational system is the biggest educational system in the world. There are 330,000,000 students in China! This is greater than the entire
population of the United States of America! The education system goes through grades pre–kindergarten (before age 6) to post graduate (2–3 years for
Masters; 2–3 years for Doctorates). The Chinese educational system is not a balanced educational system. While there are some schools in the cities
that can match some of our western countries in terms of resourcing the vast majority of schools are in the countryside. The Chinese educational
system is a highly competitive educational system. Because of the huge population waiting to be educated, and the limited space in colleges and
universities, entrance to higher educational institutions must be very competitive. The Chinese educational system is a centralised educational system.
The legislation of education rests not locally or provincially but centrally, with the Ministry.
One of the reasons that the education system has continued to grow and change is because of the help from foreign countries. The reason for this aid
is because the different countries have seen and heard about the state of education in China. It is because they value education at such a high standard
that they are offering their help. Education is the way to the future. The people who are educated are going to be the ones that run the country and if

Compare Modern Education In China With The Educational...
1.Compare modern education in China with the educational system prior to 1911. What are the key similarities and differences between the two?
There have been a lot of educational reforms over the years in which it can be traced as far back as far as the Shang Dynasty. Education is necessary
as it lead to wealth and success, so it was and still is important to the Chinese people, in the past and now. Which is a similarity, education has always
been valued by the people. There was a plan to reform to increase public education and rebuild the society. In 1911, the difference was that the
government was completely forsaken towards the traditional way of education. Historically, there was a pattern to divide china and the educational
system between private and official, in which there was a purpose to train students to be better.
2.Using Zhang Yimou's film Not One Less, identify challenges that a migrant from the country to the city might encounter.
One challenge would be that since it is such a long journey and there isn't a lot of money for transportation, it typically takes around a month for a
migrant to go to the city. They need to find someone to take care of their jobs or other needs that need to be taken care of while they are gone. In the
case of the video, the teacher had to find a young girl to teach the class while he was gone. She was inexperienced and didn't have very many talents of
her own.
Another challenge that they would have is that they would be very unfamiliar with the city lifestyle. When the young girl reaches the city she looks to
be intrigued with how much is going on compared to what she had in her village. Also, everything in the city is more expensive for them coming from
poverty.
3.Identify three challenges faced by rural schools in China. Discuss three realistic ways that these problems might be overcome.
There are a lot of challenges that students and teachers have to face in rural schools in China. Teachers are very hard to find because a lot of them are
not educated. Overtime this can be solved as more children are going to school and are getting an education. Since education is very hard to get, it can
be very expensive. And unfortunately, the poverty rate is very

Teaching And Promoting Self Determination
Abstract
With the reauthorization of Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) (P.L. 101–476) in 1990, a student with disabilities interests,
preferences, strengths, and needs were to be considered when in developing goals on their Individual Education Plan. The 1997 and 2004 amendments
of IDEA continued to meet and strengthen these requirements. To meet this federal mandate, teaching and promoting self–determination and the core
components of self–determination have become an evidenced based, and best practices for educators in middle and high school, and helping students
with disabilities meet their post secondary goals and experience a more successful transition from high school to post secondary domains. This review

Bilingual Education System in China Essay
It is generally claimed in today's world that bilingual education is becoming one of the most significant issues in the sphere of global education. In

America (Feng 2007, vii). However, BE in China has a lot of varieties determined with the educational context of students and the diversity of

When we consider personal advantages of Chinese–English BE in the PRC, one of the most influential ones is English proficiency which implies
communicatory, occupation and cultural benefits for bilingual students in the future. For example, it is acknowledged that English language has
become the essential instrument of assimilation of foreign technologies since the announcement of "open door" policy in the country. Thus, in terms of
getting a job in the industrial sphere at the state level it would be obviously beneficial for bilingual employers in comparison with monolingual
candidates, who are competent to perform their duties only in native language medium (Xiong, 2009, 35–36). Furthermore, Xiong (2009, 35) states that
there is a direct relationship between educational background and earning capability of individual. To clarify, he gives an example of the survey
carried out in Swiss labour market, which indicated a substantial direct correlation between English language proficiency and the average amount of
revenue. Therefore, it means that English speaking workers who acquired bilingual education are more expected to get a high–paid job. In other words,

Education And The Role Of Education In China
Some of the Chinese will arrive at the top of the mountain you can see the shiny light around us; turn around, it is full of regret and grey. Everyone in
China, including me, has been in touch with the examination–oriented education since we are born. We never think about whether our school life is
colourful or inspiring and we never doubt the education system as all Chinese have experienced the same way. What is the role of education in our
life? Is it supposed to stifle our imagination or creativity? Does it help us to cultivate a perfect personality? Do you want your generations to have a
stressed school life like you? So, we need to change the education system in China.
Although Chinese are ranked first in the education, we are less creative. We may wonder what creativity means? It involves the production of useful
products using our imagination. From People's Daily Online, it claims that of the 20 major inventions which have affected humanity in the 20th
century, none of them is the fruit of Chinese work because we never consider exam–oriented education may negatively affect our imagination. The
monster of exam–oriented education murders our creativity. Are we doing the same as students from other countries? No. We get used to having
blind faith in authority which causes loss of inventiveness; we are not willing to do things by ourselves and do not know what to do in the future.
Getting a good result in exam often comes at the cost of losing our own thinking. Do you want your originality being killed as you grow up? Chinese
schools begin at 7:00 and finish at 17:00, we have 8 classes every day. However, after school, the huge amount of homework makes us have no
extracurricular activities. What have Chinese students lost during this education? Personality and fantasy are being attacked. We are trained like
machines, getting skills in doing exams. I am not denying the benefits of the education. However, under the education, will it produce brilliant,
free–thinking scholars who are able to challenge life skills? The answer is no. Do you want to be a success in the world? As a human being, we are
born to have the opportunity to image, to self–thinking. I think we should be able to make decisions to answer

diversified ownership economy, while Canada is running its economy by pure capitalism. It is obvious two different education systems run in those two
countries respectively. And from my personal experience and some hearing from my friends, I found five main disadvantages of China's education
comparing with Canada's education.
First of all, theory disadvantage. Traditional Chinese teaching method is based on the principle of "rotate learning, skill comes". Thus, students need to

Final exam score decides which direction you will go in the future. As a result, a lot of talented students who didn't get good scores might lose their
chances to go further. So, whether students, teachers or parents pay much more attention to scores than the actual ability they have got. Even though
you didn't regularly attend the class, hand in your homework on time, you can still get high mark on your final

China 's Higher Education System
Research Methodology
The study takes a comparative study approach. This approach is defined as putting two or more education systems side by side in order to determine
their socio–economic, cultural, political, ideology in a context (Brickman and Fraser, 1968). This paper takes a view of China's higher education
systems in order to find out the strengths higher education for policy formation in South Sudan because currently there is no evidence of one. The
emphasis here is that in examining the policy strengths it is hoped that South Sudan would take a leaf from China's experience in order to improve her
higher education policy and practices particularly in areas such as accessibility, academic relevance, quality and staff capacity ... Show more content on

According to Campbell (1975) replicating the case through pattern–matching, a technique linking several pieces of information from the same case to
some theoretical propositions, for instance, multiple–case design enhances and supports the previous results. This ensures confidence of the strength of
the method. This method then can prove that it is appropriate to the research questions and that a chain of evidence, either quantitively, though it is not
case with our study here or qualitatively, are systematically recorded through direct observations by the researcher and therefore, form as the basis for
the main sources of data. The inclusion of both quantitative and qualitative data in case study, helps in explaining both the process ad outcome of a
given phenomenon through complete observation, reconstruction and analysis of the cases under investigation because it links theoretical framework
(Tellis, 1997).
In our selection of the articles, consideration was limited to 2005 – 2016, but articles published before that would be considered for historical reference
as their relevance is deemed necessary for this study. We considered peer review journals on higher education from academia and government sources.
The assumption is that they have achieved higher level of quality standards since they form as the sources of scholarly evidence (Hancock &
Algozzine, 2015).

Chin Background, Current Situation And Development

  • 1. Chin Background, Current Situation And Development Education in China: Background, Current situation and Development Thirty years of the reform and opening–up 30 years after 1978, China continues to recover, discover, develop and reform the Chinese education. The majority of people believe the Chinese education has many problems which need to change and learn the other countries' education systems. However, it needs time to adjust the Chinese situation and find a suitable way to reform Chinese education because Chinese history and population are different with other countries. Therefore, it cannot totally deny this education system and directly and simply copy other countries' educational system, but it also needs to realize that it has many drawbacks and negative parts, such as cramming methods of teaching, lack of creativity and repeating knowledge. It should find the root reasons why Chinese education like this and why the reform does not solve the problems, if want to find an excellent way to promote Chinese educational development. There are three root reasons why Chinese schools pay more attention to the scores and tests without caring about students' personality and abilities. Firstly, the scores are the direct and simple standard to examine a student how much knowledge they handle. A large number of populations in China, nearly 70 or 80 students are studying in every class; in other words, teachers do not have much time to consider every student's personality and give their more attention. Therefore, schools and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. The Education Of The United States And China Modifying Education in the United States and China Perhaps there is nothing more imperative to the success of a nation today than the education of its people; developed education leads to innovation, an improved economy, and, possibly most importantly, a confidence from society about government. The rise of every great nation has been preceded by advancing education. Although education has been mostly examined from the perspective of higher education in the past, this lens fails to provide an adequate picture of the average citizen. Students now attend higher education at larger percentages than they did 50 years ago; nevertheless, the only mandatory education that a citizen receives is as a minor, under the age of 18. Developed nations ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Nonetheless, China's leaders have done a magnificent job, particularly in the last 10 years, of changing international perception about their international goals and their trustworthiness. More people around the world have a positive image of China now than they have had in the past 50 years. The United States, on the other hand, has seen a decrease in their global status since the 1980's. Although it remains a Superpower, more and more American citizens believe that their days as a hegemon are behind them and that their leadership on the world stage is diminishing. This dying belief in American exceptionalism is a problem for the US. In order to achieve many of its domestic and international goals, a democratic government needs the support of its people, and if the people decide they are no longer capable of, or interested in, being the world leader, their position at the "top" is unsustainable. In the future, this waning attitude of exceptionalism is likely to change the way that America interacts with both its allies and its adversaries. Despite their differences in language and culture, China and the United States actually have many striking similarities, one of them being that they are two of the most populated countries in the world. Although the population of China is more than threefold that of the US, both countries understand the struggle of protecting and providing for an enormous ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Introduction As plagiarism of multilingual students arouses increasing consideration of public (Swoden, 2005a), there are controversies concerning causes and preventions of this immoral academic practice. TESOL would be considered as a suitable standpoint to analyze the plagiarism issue of students of other languages, for it involves a great percentage of international students and uses essay to be the major form of assessment. This paper analyzes the debate of Swoden (2005) and Liu (2005) about reasons and preventions of plagiarism in the field of TESOL. • 4. The Problem Of Education Inequality In China Introduction Nowadays, China's total population account for about one–fifth of the world's population and China's GDP ranks second in the world. So China's development has drawn world attention. Meanwhile, China is also trying to provide other developing countries with models which can be used to solve relevant issues. Since the reform and opening–up, China's education developed rapidly and achieved good results, but there are some problems, of which there is still considerable gap between urban and rural education (Jie, 2008). There is no doubt that education is the intellectual support for the progress of a nation, and the basic rights of citizens. Achieving educational equality in urban and rural areas can promote and support the development of China's economy. This is because if a large number of students, especially rural students, are able to receive more and better education to a large extent, China's human resources structure can be adjusted and social human capital can be improved (Yaou, 2011). However, educational inequality in urban and rural areas in China has long been influenced by the economy. The economic gap between urban and rural areas is seen as the main diver of educational inequality in urban and rural in China (Wu and Treiman, 2004). Solving educational inequality is a very real problem faced by the current economic development. However, if there are still institutional differences between urban and rural areas, the problem of educational inequality ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Are Websites Beneficial For A Secondary Special Education... For this assignment, I decided to use http://www.nsttac.org/ and http://www.ncset.org/ to research and discuss. I believe that both websites would be beneficial for a secondary special education teacher for many reasons. I was a little lost when researching the websites because I do not know what most of the information is talking about, but I think a secondary special education teacher would. Both websites had a lot of information on how to create opportunities for youth with disabilities to achieve successful futures. The website, http://www.ncset.org/, focused on four major areas of national significance for youth with disabilities and their families, which include: providing students with disabilities with improved access and success in the secondary education curriculum, ensuring that students achieve positive post school results in accessing postsecondary education, meaningful employment, independent living and participation in all aspects of community life, supporting student and family participation in educational and post school decision making and planning, and improving collaboration and system linkages at all levels through the development of broad–based partnerships and networks at the national, state, and local levels. Given this information a secondary special education teacher can look on this website for resources on secondary education, transition service employment, service agencies, and other areas. Obstacles Of Bilingual Education In China Obstacles of Bilingual Education in China With the relentless internationalization and marketization of higher education in the past several decades, English has been more and more used as an instruction at universities in the world, also Chinese colleges have become internationalized, that students can use English in different subjects more and more. Although Ministry of Education of China has chosen teaching bilingual language only at the turn of the century, other developed countries started teaching bilingual education several decades ago. Because the bilingual education in colleges and universities of China faces kinds of problems, the bilingual education does not achieve an ideal effect under many conditions (Gu, T., 2010); however, there are several analyses that can better understand problems in bilingual education in Chinese colleges for discerning the relationship between bilingual education and teaching foreign language, lacking qualified original English teaching materials, and limited English proficiency students. There are several definitions of bilingual education. So as the teaching strategy, the definition of bilingual education should be taking mother language and foreign language (mainly English due to its wide popularization) as the teaching media and help students master the specialty knowledge (Gu, T., 2010). Using bilingual education can improve students' knowledge scope, horizons, and their major knowledge bettering the economic globalization. If ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Reflection About Education In China We get education everyday. It can not seen or touched. But education obviously has a huge impact on our individual, society, nation, and all aspects of our lives. I am a student from China. I think the understanding of education is very different under different cultures. In this essay, I will combine my educational experience in China and the learning experience in module 1 to objectively analyze education from different perspectives. And I'll explain what I've changed in understanding and thinking about education in module1's learning process. For me the most meaningful is compulsory education in China. Now I realize education can not be considered independently society. Education should not only teach the basic knowledge of disciplines, but also the solution to problems, critical thinking, social responsibility, group cooperation and social skills. Besides, my learning style has also changed. In the past, my learning method was very passive, the teacher let me learn so I learn. But during learning process of module 1,I acquired the self–study skills. • 8. Families Should Encourage their Members to Seek an Education How important is education? Do family issues really affect the way one views education? If so why are or aren't families taking full advantage of the unlimited financial resources such as federal, state, local, and corporative aid and grants made available to them? Especially since financial aid, grants, and scholarships are becoming so very easy to attain; and careers with rising salaries can provide a much needed boost for our society, economy, and one's financial stability. Especially if that child shows no interest in furthering their education, also if that child is the type that procrastinates and does things on their own agenda or simply because that child has not been informed of the importance of a post secondary education. This is where a family's guidance and assistance becomes important even if it's just to inform them as to how they'd go about receiving financial assistance, what their major or concentration should be in regards to their future career choice. There's quite a number of ways by which one can receive financial assistance to attain a post secondary education; by taking advantage of the unlimited financial resources made available to their disposal. There's federal, state, local and corporative aid, grants, and scholarships available for individuals that would like to continue their education. Even in the United States–which boasts a substantial tradition of public education, political stability, economic prosperity and a strong middle class–issues such gender and racial equality, diversity, and budget reality still cause continuous debate. For a nation like China, the task of educating its people is even more daunting. It is no coincidence that many of the poorest and least–educated areas in China today are heavily populated by ethnic minorities. To begin with, not all minority groups are motivated to seek education–for some, such as nomadic tribes, the uniform national curriculum in China has little bearing on life within the minority society. Others, such as the Tibetans, traditionally favor religious education for boys, and discourage education for girls (Lee, 40). For minorities who are not indifferent to formal education, structural barriers persist. Minority children often grow up speaking their native tongue, which puts them at a disadvantage in the Mandarin–oriented system of formal education. Many fall behind early, and drop out because they lose hope in ever catching up. Poverty is another barrier against educational advance, especially given the fact that market reforms have taken away many of the services that used to be provided by the state. Public education is no longer free, so many children leave school because greater output on the farm results in more income for the family. Also, since minorities are not subject to China's one–child policy, having a greater number of children often means that the family cannot afford to send them all to school. Differences Between America And China When we compare with America and China, we will find that there are so many differences between this two countries, and here I mainly talk about their difference in education in this paper. Throughout all kinds of points among their differences, we can sum up to six aspects: the study style, the importance of education, the method of teaching, examination and the purpose of education. First, American Education tells students that study is just to study for themselves for the purpose of making them study without stress from their parents and society and letting them to think, to learn about they want, which makes American students learn flexibly and actively. With regard toChina Education, it always makes some complex regulations for students to tell them learn what should be learned, how to learn and even when they should learn. As a result, students in China regard study as one kind of task, and get used to dealing with the homework and examinations, they do the study more like a workers than students. Second, as for the aspect about the purpose of education, America Education attaches a little importance to the study on basic knowledge but thinks highly of the cultivation of creativity, while in China, education pays more attention to the basic knowledge and ignores the cultivation of students 'creativity and thinking abilities. Therefore, in America students who get low grades tend to have high ability while in China students who get high grades don't have enough ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When states choose such options it often leaves the recipient and their family in poverty. • 31. My College Experience "There are no secrets to success; it is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure" (Powell). The experiences that I have went through have not been an easy route. I have learned many things, ranging from mathematics to science, English, and history. As I have progressed through grade levels , each subject was instructed in different ways. When I reached high school, I started to learn the major details that I needed to know in order to prepare myself for the next level. For the past three years of high school, I believe this experience has helped teach me the responsibility which I need to know to prepare myself for a higher education. First off, the reason why I believe that I am college and career ready is, because I have learned all of the information that I need to know to further my schooling. Being college and career ready means that a student is academically prepared and has the knowledge and technical skills required for employment in their desired career field. College is a place for any specialized education, and as for post secondary education, it is supposed to help an individual prepare themselves for life. One reason mathematics has helped me prepare myself is by knowing how to multiply and add or subtract numbers. If I did not know how to, I would not have things to take for granted. I must say that math is a hard subject to understand; it is very logical. Math is implemented in every aspect of life; it is used in other subjects ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. How China 's Education System Is Not Just Because Of The... 2014. A year to remember. Its complicated history is not just because of the epic failure that happened on the opening of the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia when the Olympic rings failed to light up, but because of another momentous but not so prominent event taking place: the release of the PISA (Program for International Student Assessment) scores. Chinese students once again topped the rankings, without any denial. Considering the fact that Chinese students are starting to stream into top universities and high schools likes swarms of bees (making up about 18.5% of all foreign students), many western governments are starting to analyze what makes these students so successful. That is, however, not the problem. The problem is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Since China is a massive country with roughly 66.87 million students in 2009, the system, relying profoundly on exam–oriented education, seems like a logical and sensible way of developing endowed minds worthy of academic success. It worked without a shred of doubt. This system brought up some of the most unbeaten minds that ever existed in the field of studies, and the mean academic scores shoots through the roof. When the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Developmentпј€ OCEDпј‰released its PISA results, a triennial exam taken by half a million 15–year–old students from 65 countries, it showed that Chinese students, particularly those from the areas around Shanghai, topped the scoreboard, while Canada ranked the 13th. пј€ Kaimanпј‰ This proves that Chinese students are the most successful at academic studies and achieving exceptional marks. The view of Education in China has changed dramatically over the last forty years; it has gone from there being no real system to one that is held up to be one of the best in the world. In this paper I will go through the history of Chinese education and show how much it truly has changed. I will also look at how it is now and what China can expect for its future. In 1949 The People's Republic of China was formed by the Communist party. This happened after much struggle between the communists and the nationalists. The leader of the communist party and the new People's Republic was Mao Zedong. When the communists took over China ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Chinese educational system is the biggest educational system in the world. There are 330,000,000 students in China! This is greater than the entire population of the United States of America! The education system goes through grades pre–kindergarten (before age 6) to post graduate (2–3 years for Masters; 2–3 years for Doctorates). The Chinese educational system is not a balanced educational system. While there are some schools in the cities that can match some of our western countries in terms of resourcing the vast majority of schools are in the countryside. The Chinese educational system is a highly competitive educational system. Because of the huge population waiting to be educated, and the limited space in colleges and universities, entrance to higher educational institutions must be very competitive. The Chinese educational system is a centralised educational system. The legislation of education rests not locally or provincially but centrally, with the Ministry. One of the reasons that the education system has continued to grow and change is because of the help from foreign countries. The reason for this aid is because the different countries have seen and heard about the state of education in China. It is because they value education at such a high standard that they are offering their help. Education is the way to the future. What are the key similarities and differences between the two? There have been a lot of educational reforms over the years in which it can be traced as far back as far as the Shang Dynasty. Education is necessary as it lead to wealth and success, so it was and still is important to the Chinese people, in the past and now. Which is a similarity, education has always been valued by the people. There was a plan to reform to increase public education and rebuild the society. In 1911, the difference was that the government was completely forsaken towards the traditional way of education. Historically, there was a pattern to divide china and the educational system between private and official, in which there was a purpose to train students to be better. 2.Using Zhang Yimou's film Not One Less, identify challenges that a migrant from the country to the city might encounter. One challenge would be that since it is such a long journey and there isn't a lot of money for transportation, it typically takes around a month for a migrant to go to the city. They need to find someone to take care of their jobs or other needs that need to be taken care of while they are gone. In the case of the video, the teacher had to find a young girl to teach the class while he was gone. She was inexperienced and didn't have very many talents of her own. Another challenge that they would have is that they would be very unfamiliar with the city lifestyle. When the young girl reaches the city she looks to be intrigued with how much is going on compared to what she had in her village. Also, everything in the city is more expensive for them coming from poverty. 3.Identify three challenges faced by rural schools in China. Discuss three realistic ways that these problems might be overcome. There are a lot of challenges that students and teachers have to face in rural schools in China. Teachers are very hard to find because a lot of them are not educated. Overtime this can be solved as more children are going to school and are getting an education. In comparison with the status of bilingual education (BE) in China, a great deal more is known about its development in countries of Europe and North America (Feng 2007, vii). However, BE in China has a lot of varieties determined with the educational context of students and the diversity of languages spoken in regions. When we consider personal advantages of Chinese–English BE in the PRC, one of the most influential ones is English proficiency which implies communicatory, occupation and cultural benefits for bilingual students in the future. For example, it is acknowledged that English language has become the essential instrument of assimilation of foreign technologies since the announcement of "open door" policy in the country. Thus, in terms of getting a job in the industrial sphere at the state level it would be obviously beneficial for bilingual employers in comparison with monolingual candidates, who are competent to perform their duties only in native language medium (Xiong, 2009, 35–36). Furthermore, Xiong (2009, 35) states that there is a direct relationship between educational background and earning capability of individual. To clarify, he gives an example of the survey carried out in Swiss labour market, which indicated a substantial direct correlation between English language proficiency and the average amount of revenue. Therefore, it means that English speaking workers who acquired bilingual education are more expected to get a high–paid job. In other words, it is a "passport ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 39. Education And The Role Of Education In China Some of the Chinese will arrive at the top of the mountain you can see the shiny light around us; turn around, it is full of regret and grey. Everyone in China, including me, has been in touch with the examination–oriented education since we are born. We never think about whether our school life is colourful or inspiring and we never doubt the education system as all Chinese have experienced the same way. What is the role of education in our life? Is it supposed to stifle our imagination or creativity? Does it help us to cultivate a perfect personality? Do you want your generations to have a stressed school life like you? So, we need to change the education system in China. Although Chinese are ranked first in the education, we are less creative. We may wonder what creativity means? It involves the production of useful products using our imagination. From People's Daily Online, it claims that of the 20 major inventions which have affected humanity in the 20th century, none of them is the fruit of Chinese work because we never consider exam–oriented education may negatively affect our imagination. The monster of exam–oriented education murders our creativity. Are we doing the same as students from other countries? No. We get used to having blind faith in authority which causes loss of inventiveness; we are not willing to do things by ourselves and do not know what to do in the future. Getting a good result in exam often comes at the cost of losing our own thinking. Do you want your originality being killed as you grow up? Chinese schools begin at 7:00 and finish at 17:00, we have 8 classes every day. However, after school, the huge amount of homework makes us have no extracurricular activities. What have Chinese students lost during this education? Personality and fantasy are being attacked. We are trained like machines, getting skills in doing exams. I am not denying the benefits of the education. However, under the education, will it produce brilliant, free–thinking scholars who are able to challenge life skills? The answer is no. Do you want to be a success in the world? As a human being, we are born to have the opportunity to image, to self–thinking. I think we should be able to make decisions to answer ... This method then can prove that it is appropriate to the research questions and that a chain of evidence, either quantitively, though it is not case with our study here or qualitatively, are systematically recorded through direct observations by the researcher and therefore, form as the basis for the main sources of data.
