How to Make Lesson Plan that Can
Massively Increase Your Students’
English?
- Put Warm-Ups in Your Lesson Plan -
Warm Up Song
Follow me
Follow me... Follow me.... Lets do something crazy
Follow me... Follow me.... Everybody start now 1 2 3
First add: 1 2 3 forward, 123 backward
We did it
Next add: - Knee up
- Criss cross
- Clap
Follow me... Follow me... We did something crazy
Follow me... Follow me... Everybody sit down 1 2 3
Here are some of the tricks you can use to kick
your students’ English levels through roof!
- The Secret Warm-Ups -
Review With Game
• Oh my God!
(What happen?)
• I’ve got good news
(From whom?)
• From her/him.
(Hello, My name is..... Nice to meet you)
1#
Review all the previous lessons in the
first 5 minutes of each lesson (as per
the lesson plan.)
The great thing about this is that you can easily mix and match
the different phrases as you teach new themes.
So in the review you can ask the kids to translate sentences
that mix and match them both.
e.g. say “I’d like some pancakes” or “I like pancakes” or “I like
bears” or “I’d like some bears”
(stupid sentence but it gets the kids excited
and making sentences!)
Preposition Dance
Put your hands above your head.
Put your hands below your knee.
And bounce... Bounce... Bounce...
Above, below, inside, outside, from side to side,
turn around about.
Put your hands in front, put your hands behind,
put your hands in front and clap.
Put your hands inside, put your hands outside, put
your hands inside and dance.
2#
Build & Build
• As the kids remember all the grammar & phrases
naturally from the melodies in the songs, you can
keep building and building like this using previous
themes in new and varied ways.
• For example after this warm up, the lesson we did
was Under, on, in prepositions. So in the next warm
up we can mix this with the rooms of the house to get
things like “Where is the kitchen?” ”It’s next to the
living room” etc.
What is that?
That is ...
This is ...
It is ...
They are ...
Those are ...
These are ...
Doctor Book Letter
Doctor Snacks Doctor
Where is...?
How to get to ...?
3#
Anything you want to say!
Now imagine that you can build up an almost infinite amount of
English for the kids to speak.
This technique, and by carefully controlling the language used in
the syllabus, is how teachers manage to build up to the “be
able to say anything you want to say” goal of your Lesson
Plan
You can can see it’s very powerful.
And lots of fun!
One other tip for reviewing
”not what you’ve done but what the
kids can do”
that is important!
What do you think?
Always remember it’s
