  2. 2. Preposition <br />This could be teach to the students in the 5th grade. To make students aware of how prepositional phrases can easily add detail to a sentence.<br />This presentation was created as a way to reinforce the use of prepositions in a student’s writing. Especially concentrating on the use of the preposition followed by a definite article .<br />
  3. 3. What is a Preposition?<br /><ul><li>A preposition is a word which shows the relationship between one thing and another.
  4. 4. It links nouns, pronouns and phrases to other words in the sentence.</li></li></ul><li> What can prepositions tell you?<br />1- It may tell you where a thing is in relation to something else. <br />
  5. 5. What else can prepositions tell you?<br />2-It may tell you when something is in relation to another event.<br />For example: She refused to leave the house until the postman had been.<br />3- A preposition may tell you the position of something in relation to something else.<br />For example: The brown dog slept beside white rabbit.<br />
  6. 6. What else can prepositions tell you?<br />4- It may also tell you the direction something is travelling in relation to something else.<br />
