AGREEMENTS FOR THE CLASS:
EXPLORATION:
(Recognition of previous knowledge regarding the content of learning,
importance of content in daily life, motivation)
TIME:
45 minutes
Teach the actions vocab
Start with flashcards of the actions in the song (jump, run, swim, hop, my feet, turn around). Have
all your students stand up and pull out the first flashcard (e.g. "Jump"). Get the students to do the
action as soon as you reveal the card. Shout out the word as you are all doing the action and
encourage everyone to shout the word as well. Do this for all 6 cards.
The students will watch the video of the song Yes, I can! , after the teacher will give each student a
copy that contains the lyrics of the song, will read and practice the pronunciation of the words,
finally we will sing the song with music and video.
Then the teacher will tell the students the instructions before going out to the playground,
remember the behavior they must maintain at the time they move to this place, in addition the

teacher will give a questionnaire to each student that will be complemented as follows:
-Each student will randomly choose 6 of his classmates and ask the questions contained in the
questionnaire, the answers they provide must be true.
Students will return to the classroom, the teacher will socialize some of the work done and will also
say some sentences orally with which will to introduce students to the topic.

Later the students will write the following information in their notebooks, which will be explained by
the teacher step by step and through examples:
CAN:
Can is a modal verb.
Can is used to express ability or to say that something is possible.
Can is the same for all subjects. We don't add an 'S' in the third person (like other verbs)
The verb that comes after Can is in the infinitive without to:
I can speak Spanish. (= it is possible for me to speak Spanish = I have the ability to speak Spanish)
He can swim well.

CAN`T:
Negative
To form the negative we add "not" after can to form one word: cannot.
We can also contract the negative to form can't. (can't = cannot)
I cannot play the piano. We can't go to the cinema tonight.
She cannot speak French very well. He can't drive a car.
Questions
To from the question we change the position of the subject and the auxiliary verb.
The main verb is still in the infinitive without to.
Where can I buy an ice-cream?
Can I go to the party, please?
Can you speak Japanese?
What can we do on Saturday?
Remember that you can use short answers:
Can I sit here please? Yes, you can.
Can you speak Chinese? No, I can't.
In order to complement the previous information, the students will write in the notebook the
following summary, which will be read aloud and explained by the teacher, in order to clarify the
doubts that arose in the previous moment.

still standing, quickly turn over one card for all to see and shout out the action (e.g.
jump). Everyone jumps for a second or two. Then turn over another card and shout
the action for everyone to do. This should be quick paced with actions changing
frequently.
After a few rounds mix the cards up again and pick up one card. This time don’t
show it to everyone – look at it yourself and then shout out the word (e.g. "Run!")
and see if everyone does the right action. If they are having problems show the card.
Do this for all of the cards until everyone is getting the actions right.
Play "Teacher Says"
This is the game "Simon Says" but using the word "teacher", or your name, instead.
Go straight into the game (no explanations necessary) by saying "Teacher says
(jump)". Do the action and make sure everyone else follows along. Do a few more
"run, turn around, swim, etc." Then at some point give a command without the
"Teacher says" part (e.g. "Jump!"). First time round, everyone will jump, so make it
very clear that they shouldn’t do this when you don’t say "Teacher says". After a
while your students will get the hang of it. Play the game faster and faster. When a
student makes a mistake they have to sit the rest of the game out. The last student
standing is the winner.
Students must complete the sentences according to the information in the diagram.

In order to relate several subjects and put into practice the artistic abilities of the students, the
group will be divided into teams of equal number of members, students will create a poster in which
they will promote a Aguadas tourist site, this will contain illustrations and information on the
activities that people can do if they visit any of these places.
In the elaboration of the work, the students will write 6 sentences using the modal can or can`t 3
with each one, at the end of the activity, each one will be socialized and will be exposed in some
visible place of the institution

Have all your students stand up and pull out the first flashcard (e.g. "Jump"). Get the students to do the action as soon as you reveal the card. Shout out the word as you are all doing the action and encourage everyone to shout the word as well. Do this for all 6 cards. Do a few more "run, turn around, swim, etc." Then at some point give a command without the "Teacher says" part (e.g. "Jump!"). First time round, everyone will jump, so make it very clear that they shouldn’t do this when you don’t say "Teacher says". After a while your students will get the hang of it. Play the game faster and faster. When a student makes a mistake they have to sit the rest of the game out. The last student standing is the winner.
