2. I attracted an audience of people who like rock
music through using the conventions of other
established rock magazines, such as black/dark
colours on the cover and red on the contents
and double page spread.
This is typical of other rock magazines that my
audience reads, as I found when conducting my
audience research questionnaire
3. On the front page I made sure my title was
large and bold and one word that related to the
rock genre, I decided on Skream as it is a
typical word of the genre. The incorrect spelling
was a language choice to give the product a
more rock like aesthetic. The model on the
cover is in a pose that sets the dark mood of
the rock genre.
4. The contents page attracts the audience by
featuring artists relevant to the genre which a
reader in a shop would notice and be more
likely to purchase my product.
The articles are all interesting to the target
audience, as found by my research, they
feature bands that readers would be interested
in and topics that would keep them engaged.
5. ● My double page spread is appealing to my
audience as it features a large title in a bold red
font and a pull quote to engage readers.
● The featured artist is in a pose typical of rock
musicians, tuning his guitar, so readers will
relate to him and be more likely to buy my
product.
