Last April 23, 2016, the Regional
finals of the 2016 Korean Speech
Contest was held at the Audio-Visual
Hall of West Visayas State University
in Lapaz, Iloilo City. The contest was
participated by six contenders who
delivered their Korean speeches that
centered on the this year’s theme
“Growth.” Contestants were also
asked questions in Korean language
after their speeches.
In the end, the judges chose the top
three speakers who garnered the
highest scores. The winners were: 1st
Place – Michael Francis Braga, 2nd Place
– Bryan Rosete and 3rd Place – Venus
Daquinan. Winners received cash prizes
and the first prize winner will represent
Iloilo in the Grand Finals to be held in
Manila on April 30. This event was
made possible through the efforts of the
Korean Cultural Center in the
Philippines together with the Iloilo
Korean United Community Association
and TESDA Region VI.
