2. E-MAIL :
 “E-mail (electronic mail) is the
exchange of computer-stored
messages by telecommunication.”
 E-mail can be distributed to lists of
people as well as to individuals.
 Modern email operates across the internet
or other computer networks.
 Today's email systems are based on a
store-and-forward model. Email servers
accept, forward, deliver and store
messages.

 Email allows individuals and groups to
Communicate with one another.

 Group Work
 Staying in Touch Professionally
 Staying in Touch Socially
 Transmitting Documents
 Information Interchange

5.  Email has mainly 3 components:
1. User agents
2. Mail server
3. Simple mail transfer protocol(SMTP)
 User agent allow user to read, reply
to,save,forward and compose
messages.
 Smtp has two side, one is client side
who send the message.another one
is server side which execute the
mail.

6. 1. Client invoke her user agent for email.
2. User agent send the message to her
mail server.
3. Then it open tcp connection .
4. After handshaking, client send message
into tcp connection.
5. At server side it receive the
message.then
it places the message in mailbox.
and then server side of user agent to
read the message at his convience.
