2. We have seen a number of CD’s of our chosen
band and decided to follow the convention and
use a symbol which would relate to our song’s
lyrics.
We have decided to use a bird flying out of its
cave to symbolise freedom.
We have also decided to have the name of the
band and the album title in plain font at the top
of the page just above the object which will
emphasise that the object is the focus point.
3.
4. In one of my case studies I have seen that it is
conventional for this band to divide the back cover
into 2 parts where one would have a list of songs and
the other would have the promotional information.
In our back cover we will have a similar layout in that
we will have black and white colour scheme with the
logo of the band positioned at the top of the page in
the white part.
We will have a list of songs in the white part as well
along with the duration of each song in minutes
The barcode, QR code, price and the partners in the
black part written in white font.
Font used will be the same as in the front cover.
5.
6. We have decided to have 2 inside inserts in our CD
package
They will look similar as we will include some general
information about the band and maybe personal
messages to the audience from each band member.
For these we will use studio photography
They will mainly be medium shots of the band
together and the vocalist on his own but we may also
use close-ups.
Due to our colour scheme being mainly black and
white we will use original/ unedited picture but with
altered transparency in order to try and make the text
the focus point.
7. We will use studio photography for the advert
mainly because this is what I have learned from
the case studies of similar style-low mood songs.
Low key lighting will be used and a close-up shot
of the vocalist will emphasise the personality of
the songs well as giving a personal touch to the
advert which is likely to attract.
It will have all the text positioned in the lower
quartile of the page as the aim is to make the
photograph the main focus point
There will be some of the titles listed as well as
the release date for the album.
