Red Lotus Of Chastity Analysis
In Machiavelli's "The Prince", Machiavelli is able to express and display his own theories and views on how a prince should act in certain situations.
The style that Machiavelli uses to explain himself it is very straight forward and most of the time the opposite of what people would think.
Machiavelli's concept of being a lion and fox appears in Somadeva's "The Red Lotus of Chastity" , where two of the main characters Devasmita and the
nun, Yogakarandita, both attempt to follow Machiavelli's concept of being a fox and a lion. However, Devasmita is the only one that fully uses
Machiavelli's concept and comes out with a victory against the nun, which on the other hand did not use both attributes but instead pretended to. What

However, he strongly promoted a no religious society and he also felt that morality wasn't necessary as well as loyalty to the citizens, a prince cannot
be both feared and loved, otherwise he would lose his power. All of these centeredcharacteristic that a person should be able to accustom to
themselves may sound uncivilized and very self centered but, as we seen in "The Red Lotus of Chastity" , the concept of using both different natures
of a lion and fox helped Devasmita to overcome her enemies and getting her life back in order, despite the fact that the society doesn't approve nor

Positive Attributes In The Sports Marketing Industry
After graduating from the University of Florida with my master's in Sport Management, my goal is to move back to Atlanta, GA and start a
promising career in the sport marketing industry. However, I know that to be successful within a career, I must be aware of both my positive and
negative attributes. Thus, my awareness of strengths and weaknesses will better guide me to be better employee and person over all. In my case, I
have acquired many character qualities, both positive and negative, from different experiences such as life experiences, working, and going to school.
Nevertheless, with each trait that I have acquired, I have learned that each trait has shaped me to be a well–rounded individual who is prepared to enter

a future sport marketer for a team or agency, my possible responsibility will be to create buzz marketing for a certain player, new item, or the overall
organization. Therefore, with my friendly personality, it will benefit me when building and creating networks with other professionals (Public

Personal Reflection
When it comes to a person's characteristics, preferences, and beliefs it can be hard to make the distinction between the three. Not only that, but
when asked a simple question: "What are some of your defining characteristics?" It's so easy to just draw a blank. It may not even be that you
don't want to brag, it's hard to talk about things like that on the spot. Almost as if you were asked, "What's your favorite movie and you've
suddenly forgotten every movie you've ever seen. In other words, self reflection is difficult. Namely, making a distinction between the different
aspects that make up who you are as a person. However, when asked about some of my defining characteristics I would say what makes me stand
out is my personality and intelligence. I don't necessarily have any skills like doing a backflip, or being able to juggle, or anything like that. But I do
have a quick wit and a sharp tongue at times, which I've learned to embrace. A lot of people think I'm funny, although I find myself laughing at my
jokes harder than anyone else so I'd say that's a characteristic I have as well. I also have an uncanny ability to be able to "read" people and empathize
with them extremely well. I'm incredibly observant and pick up on the smallest things. I've even been called an empath on numerous occasions. More
than anything this is what most defines who I am. Sometimes I pretend not to care as much as I do for fear of getting hurt, which my closest friends
know about me.

Should Minds Be Forced Down The Throats Of Youth?
Every generation has their own ideal of the "perfect American", and each generation seemingly losing the right of free thinking more and more. Our
society is releasing the grip on the freedom to have an opinion that doesn't agree with the minds of others. Minds are being persuaded to think a
certain way in order to have a sense of belonging. Opinions are being forced down the throats of youth in America. Opinions that correspond with
major topics such as race, gender stereotypes, or gender orientation are the topics that people have forced their opinion into the circuit for many years.
Through the generations the right to an opinion has changed a great deal. Going from two major opinions to allowing for everyone to have their own is
how the negative and positives of Americans have evolved. Along with free thinking the change in work ethic is a main change that is shown through
the generations.
Americans have been about to advance with the insight of our grandparents generation by learning through their mistakes as well as their successes.
Personally my grandparents have been the ones to go to great lengths in order to provide the best lifestyle for themselves as well as their children.
They have been positive examples of the way Americans worked hard to provide for their families. Knowing that they weren 't going to be handed
food or money they chose to work for what they wanted to obtain. With their generation being stocked full of hard working, dedicated people it

Essay about Characteristics of a Good Leader
A good leader needs to have many particular characteristics. Some of these are obvious, such as that they care about what you are doing and always
puts you before themselves. Also another trait of a good leader is that they always keep promises they make. Some of the subtle attributes of a good
leader are that they do not hide behind bad news. Moreover, they are easy people to talk to and they have a good if not excellent sense of humor.
In my opinion, the best leader would be one that enjoys being the leader, is anyways there when I need him or her, sets tangible milestones, always

I do not think that there is a single person out there in the world like what I stated above because someone could be good in one area, but lack in
another area and such.
I sincerely believe that I have characteristics of a good leader, although some of them could be different from the more conventional ones. For
example, I am a team player and care about the well being of others, I try my best to help everyone in their time of need, I am generally patient
about things, and I really celebrate success in a very enthusiastic way. I think that these qualities are good enough for me to be able to be some type of
a good leader.
However, I am human so I am not perfect and lack certain traits of a good leader. For instance, I often do not use language that is easy to understand
because I use many "big" words, I do not really give people second chances because I feel that one chance is all they need, and also I am not the best
person to communicate. Most of the time I try not to do these things, but these bad things still happen once in a while because I am frustrated or
aggravated at something. For the most part, I am a calm and reasonable person that helps people out.
Overall, I am a pretty good leader in some areas and like to help others in their time of need. However, I am only a good leader depending on the
situation and that is the major thing

What Makes Me Who I Am
What makes me who I am? What are my traits? People are born with their own special traits and personality. People have taken personality tests that
allow them to know which trait they have. However, one can determine her or his personality and know truly oneself through family, friends or
colleagues. My small family has always emphasized the importance of values which have had an enormous impact on my whole life. There are three
primary aspects of traits that characterize me and shaped me to who I am today. The two main characteristics of traits that my family and friends
describe me with them are hardworking and trustworthy, but the empathetic trait is the one traits that I can use to describe myself. one of my
significant traits that my friends describe me with it is hardworking because I am usually busy and I always pursue my goals to the end. I pick up
this trait from my father who inspired me and had a major influence on me. No matter what, I will push through limitations and adversity to try and
obtain what I want, and what is the best for my family. For example, When I was working as a technician in the laboratory, I showed up in my work
on time and started my tasks rapidly without spending much time chatting with other employees. If everything assigned to me was completed, I
looked for more work. Also, I did not leave my work until I was sure that I finished all my tasks. Several times I stayed late in order to be sure that
everything is effectively and properly

Dunning (2007) says that implicit personality theory is the idea that if a person displays one characteristic, they are likely to have other characteristics
associated with the displayed characteristic. Two types of implicit personality theory Dunning (2007) focused on were thehalo effect; if someone
exhibits positive attributes, additional positive attributes will be attributed to them by the perceiver and vice versa, and attractive people are ascribed
more positive attributes by others, regardless of behavior. It is a heuristic used by people to make impulsive decisions. Unfortunately, it frequently

The Tragedy Of Antigone And Aristotle's Description Of A...
The tragedy of Antigone is an amazing story of the tragedy that Thebes experienced. At the end of the story one is still left wondering who is the
hero and who is the villain. This question has been asked since the story was ever told. After reading the story I am going to explain why Creon
best suits the role of hero according to Aristotle's description of a classic hero. Aristotle wrote six characteristics of a classic hero and I am going to
use them to explain why Creon is the hero. The first thing that must be covered before one can decide who is the hero of story is the six
characteristics of a classic hero. 1. The first trait that describes a classic hero is a character that holds a high position throughout the play. This... Show

He is part of the noble family that has ruled Thebes for a while. Due to this Creon fits the guide well so far. Next Creon could be considered to be
gifted with greatness, but is nowhere near perfect. Creon was not born to be in power, but after taking up rule he shows a strong rule that looks to
be promising. A classic hero must have a downfall caused by them and this is checked off by Creon. When Creon forbids the burial of Polyneices;
he goes against the law of the gods and later pays for through the loss of his son and wife. He was turned upon by the people and his son, because they
saw that it was unfit for him to not allow the other brother to be buried and sentence Antigone to death. Following down the list Creon fits the next
characteristic. The loss the Creon experiences is quite harsh and was not really necessary at any point in the story. Through this loss though he gains
wisdom as the play ends. Creon found the wisdom that he desired. He learned that his pride was his down fall and it kept him from being great.
Now I will show why Antigone just doesn't add up to being the Hero. Unlike Creon, Antigone has no highly regarded position in the story. Even
though Antigone and Creon are part of the same family Creon is the one with the noble position. Antigone also shows no natural greatness. She is just
like any other person in Thebes. Antigone dose face a downfall that she caused by only herself. Her downfall was caused

Examples Of Adversity In The Hunger Games Katniss
In the Book The hunger games Katniss Everdeen faces overwhelming adversity when she finds herself found in the clutches of the capital stuck in the
hunger games. Katniss is able to overcome this adversity by having strong characteristics like her intelligence, resourcefulness and being courageous,
these characteristics will be discussed throughout the essay outlining exactly why these characteristics help katniss in the games. To begin the first
characteristic that helped Katniss overcome adversity in the games was her intelligence. Katniss shows her intelligence multiple times throughout
the book but one example of this would be when reads between the lines of Haymitch's gifts thinking "Haymitch couldn't be sending me a clearer
message one kiss equals one pot of broth"(collins 261). The significance of this is that she sees how willing people are to sponsor when her and
Peeta are clearly in love so all she has to do for what she needs is to not give up on the games or on Peeta. The next point of how Katniss's
intelligence helped her in the book would be How she was able to locate Peeta after hearing the announcement of two tributes of the same district
can survive. Remembering back to earlier in the games she thought "he couldn't have survived without water. I know that from the first few days
here. He must be hidden somewhere near a source"(collins 250). This shows how in this stressful and vast environment she is able to take a breath
and calmly analyze the situation and decipher that he couldn't have gone far from the career camp and he would have to stay close to water. The last
way Katniss proves that her intelligence helped her in the games is how she takes out the careers supplies. After careful planning with rue Katniss
makes her way up towards the career camp and takes up her bow and shoots "Then the apples spill to the ground and I'm blown backward into the
air"(collins 221). This quote shows how with some planning and careful thinking she singlehandedly changed the course of the entire game. For these
reasons her intelligence clearly helped her overcome the tall task of the hunger games. The next way Katniss's characteristics assisted her in
overcoming adversity is her resourcefulness.

The Advice For A High Level Of Advice
These are some of the cautions that were revealed through this assessment for me: The advice characteristics shows a desire to seek considerable
amounts of advice. This was a known for me and it was born out of a need to do things right without error, and trying to make sure that I do not
fail. I have learned that when trying to succeed and accomplish goals, there will be times of failure. This is the way that people learn and improve.
If you are in a position, where you can get feedback to help you realize your mistakes. Feedback is also important in that regard to incorporate
counsel, so that proper corrections can be made. The concern with a person that operate with the need of a high level of advice is the individual
will delay making decisions. This is ok for some situations, but sometimes a decision with have to be made right away. I realize with this being one
of my methods of operation, I will have to practice making decisions on the fly, in order to become more comfortable making decisions without
being advised. I will learn to use this as a strength, by staying up on what current in my field, therefore I will be confident in my own decisions. The
second caution that was revealed from the assessment is the process creativity, which said that I prefer to stick to standard rules and practices, when
implementing solutions to problems rather than shifting processes to achieve solutions. This is accurate, but the other side is I do like to follow a plan

Characteristics Of Human Service Professionals
Human service professionals are described as careers in which people help others who may be struggling such as working in a nursery or working at
a halfway home. These people dedicate their lives to helping others and trying to better the world. The Human Services profession is one which
promotes improved service delivery systems by addressing not only the quality of direct services, but also by seeking to improve accessibility,
accountability, and coordination among professionals and agencies in service delivery. In this essay I will list three qualities that I think every human
service professional should have and decide who meets these qualities and should join our task force. Empathy is something that every human service
professional should have. It's easy to feel bad for someone you're working with, but to put yourself in someone's shoes is a bit more difficult and
should be a trait every human service professional has. Patients usually don't want to be pitied or just told a simple sorry. Studies show that people react
better when the professional shows that they truly understand and makes them feel less alone. Being empathetic means not putting yourself above the
person no matter how different your situations are. An empathetic professional will not make the patient feel as if their situation is so horrible and no
one could ever understand. Instead they will talk to the patient as if it was just a casual conversation and really try and understand how they're feeling

The Main Characteristics Of Psychological Understanding
One of the main characteristics of psychological understanding is the approach to the theory of behaviourism. Behaviourism focuses on the action
committed by an individual in response to certain situations rather than the thinking done by the individual, in simpler form, 'the reaction'.
Conditioning is a theory introduced by behaviourist, this concept discusses how stimuli's can generate predictable responses that can be in sequence
and repetitive, this contributes to the understanding of how organism behaviour can be taught and developed due to certain conditions or situations
faced. Pavlov was a physiologist that contributed to the first understanding of conditioning, he ran a study on animals, specifically dogs, in which he

Another concept put forth by Pavlov which is more related to the explanation of human behaviour, was his insight on speech which he regarded as also
a stimuli that generates response, but rather than a fixated response there are many a human can choose from in response to certain conditions, speech
is able to create that flexibility. He stated that 'Speech, on account of the whole preceding life of the adult, is connected up with all the internal and
external stimuli which can reach the cortex, signalling all of them and replacing all of them, and therefore it can call forth all those reactions of the
organism which are normally determined by the actual stimuli themselves' (Pavlov 1960:407) This understanding may contradict the concept that
behaviour is predictable to the stimuli provided, because as humans we are more flexible to choose how we respond. But Pavlov still associated this
with conditioning, 'High–order conditioning occurs when a second conditioning stimulus is paired with a conditioned stimulus that has already been
established' (Pavlov 1960:33) The higher order conditioning procedure leads to two levels of signals. The first signal being the primary signalling
system, which

The Foundation of Leadership by Kouzes James and Posner Barry focused on a study that was conducted to figure out what most people look for in a

Characteristics Of An Ideal Parent
The Ideal Parent: Definition/Exemplification Essay When children are young, it is typical to dislike and disagree with your parents. Children and
teenagers often fail to recognize the good characteristics that their parents have and only focus on the negative attributes. As people mature and
grow older, they start to recognize the impact that their parents had on their life. For each person, there are different fundamental characteristics
that an ideal parent must have. Although no parent is perfect, I believe that a parent's ability to discipline, teach, and respect their child's
expression creates the ideal parent. The first, and arguably most important, aspect of an ideal parent is their ability to discipline their children.
Without the correcting of wrongdoing, children fail to recognize what is socially right and wrong. When I was younger, my parents would make
sure that my disobedience would not go unnoticed. One of the worst things I ever did was throw rocks at one of my parents' friend's car when I
was in preschool. My parents made sure to give me time out and a lecture to make sure that I did not do it again. Also, when I was younger I was
very prone to sassing back to my parents when I had gotten in trouble. Oftentimes, I would get in even worse trouble for my sassing. The consequences
that I got often involved time out, chores, and lectures on what I did wrong. Without this discipline, I would not have known that sassing back was a
bad thing, or that throwing

The Main Features And Characteristics Of A Slum
A slum is a heavily populated urban informal settlement characterized by substandard housing and squalor. While slums differ in size and other
characteristics, most lack reliable sanitation services, supply of clean water, reliable electricity, law enforcement and other basic services. Slum
residences vary from shanty houses to professionally built dwellings that because of poor–quality construction or provision of services have

The Indian Supreme Court has also recognized the right to water and proper sanitation conditions under the "right to life" provision of its constitution.
Hence according to the above said statements, the rights of the people living in the slum areas are often violated and are often hampered also.
A UN expert group has created an operational definition of a slum as an area that combines to various extents the following characteristics: inadequate
access of safe water; inadequate access to sanitation and other infrastructure; poor structural quality of housing; overcrowding; and insecure residential
status. To these one might add the low socioeconomic status of residents of these areas.
The problem of slums have started because of excess migration of people from the rural areas to the urban areas and when the people who have

New England. The colonies were included Pennsylvania, Delaware, New York and New Jersey. These colonies also had a significant amount of
forests for lumber, which was important because England had a shortage of lumber.
North Carolina – The Northern part of the Carolinas that differed from the Southern part in that there were mainly small tobacco farms rather than
large plantations with a major reliance on slavery. It was known for its bad transportation, few good ports, democracy, and self–government. It was
established originally by the Virginia colonists.
New England colonies – These colonies included New Hampshire, Massachusetts Bay Colony, Rhode Island and Connecticut. They were known for
their extensive supplies of lumber, fur, and fish, considering their climate was too cold, soil too rocky, and the winters too long to be know for any
sort of agriculture. The colonies were democratic, and also had a domestic labor source, unlike the slavery in the southern colonies. These colonies were
significant because of their shipbuilding and their participation in the manufacturing of rum for triangular trade. They were also mainly Puritans.
Plymouth – Settled by English protestants,

Characteristic Of My Family
Family
A family is represented as love and comfort from people who are really close to you. There is also the biological term as in your parents and siblings
where scientifically they have to be your family. But the point is that a family is very important and sometimes interesting. You can take it from my
family. My family for instance is a very fascinating group of people with many characteristics to describe them. Characteristics that make the Williams
family known around our home town due to many things we have most families don't.
One of the characteristics of my would have to be is how tough we are. If you see my family you will notice they are people that look like they come
from a tough place. They will look like a group of big scary bikers that you don't want to mess with. But we are actually normal people. The only thing
other people find scary about us is how well we stick together. When it comes to feelings it we are also tough there. When something is embarrassing

It is what makes us strong, smart, big, fun. We have been given rules from our ancestors many centuries back to the start of the family. My family
have certain traditions as so do many other families. Our traditions include everything that bring us together. For example a little specific to our
family is we always make events every year. Every time we hear something special happens to one of the family members we sort out some sort of
get together to have a celebration. It's kind of like getting free food once or twice a month and it's a party where you know everyone. Speaking of
food we also have to have traditional food. Traditional food is the food we work for and store bought things to finish the recipe. There's many
choices too so you don't have to eat the same thing over and over and over again. These are the traditions we have and are happy to follow because it's

The Main Characteristics Of Emerging Markets
The main characteristics of 'emerging markets'
Introduction
In recent years, there has been a growing concern about the emerging markets, and it is kind of new economic markets in developing countries which
likes mature markets but does not meet a criterion of it,and emerging markets is a relevant concept when it comes to the developed countries. While a
variety of definitions of the term of emerging markets have been suggested, this essay will use the definition suggested by Arnold and Quelch(1998)who
saw it as countries that satisfy two standards, first is a rapid pace of economics increasing, and second is government policies supporting economic
liberalisation and the adoption of a free–market system.
This essay attempts to focus on five main characteristics of emerging markets which consists of:first, high growth and high returns, second, increasing of
investment, third, high volatility, fourth, capital markets are less mature than developed countries, and the last characteristic is lower than average per
capita. These characteristics would be explained in details and be given some examples to support them, and in comparison with mature fair, followed by
a discussion of the impact about the new markets to country.
The background of 'emerging markets'
First of all, before the emerging markets began to growth rapidly, it have gone through a long period of development, from the second world war to the
80s or 90s twentieth Century, there were thirty or forty years. Countries such as

Grit Is What Separates Fruitful Lives From Aimlessness
The Christian author, John Ortberg once stated, "Over time, grit is what separates fruitful lives from aimlessness" (Ortberg). This powerful statement
is a very popular belief, that grit is a defining characteristic in our lives. How we go about developing this trait on the other hand is hotly debated. On
one side there are, as I call them the critics. They believe that grit is a hereditary trait that cannot be developed in a school environment. Moreover, they
believe that if it were to be attempted to be taught, that the consequences would have terrible repercussions on our society. On the other side there are
the optimists. They have confidence that grit can be taught, but not quite in the way we first expected. Of course, they also reason that teaching grit
has a lifelong positive effect on our society. To be honest I believe that grit can and should be taught in schools. The new and promising evidence of its
teaching and results cannot be ignored. It overwhelms the older critical beliefs. In the end though, one must determine for themselves what is right.
Many have decided for themselves that grit cannot be taught in a school setting. One of their main issues with attempting to teach grit is that there still
isn't a standardized form of teaching this trait. There have been many theories and propositions, but it seems that each strategy is incomplete in some
way. Their theory, as stated by the author, Toby Young, is that, "character traits are inherited, not taught"

Characteristics Of A Survivor
"Crack!" A heavy rock shifts to the right as Aron Ralston places his hand directly under it, pinning his arm to the rock surrounding him and tearing the
skin off of his forearm. Ralston tries many different methods to escape but ultimately is forced to saw off his arm with a small knife. Aron Ralston,
Bethany Hamilton, and Hyeonseo Lee are all extraordinarily brave, persistent and patient people that made it through difficult and life–endangering
situations. Ralston exhibited the characteristic of a survivor whenever he was stuck in a seemingly hopeless situation, as did Bethany Hamilton and
Hyeonseo Lee. In order to be a survivor, a person needs patience, bravery, and persistence. One of the most important characteristics of a survivor is
patience. Whenever Hyeonseo Lee was attempting to help her family escape from North Korea, she said "I did everything to get my family to
freedom, and we came so close, but my family was thrown in jail. . . I went back and forth between the immigration office and the police station,
desperately trying to get my family out. . . I didn't have enough money to bribe or fine anymore. I lost all hope." (Hyeonseo Lee, Ted Talks).
Hyeonseo Lee had the patience to wait for things to get better, and if she wasn't patient and had given up on her family they most likely wouldn't have
been successful with their escape. Lee continuously went back and forth between places that were holding her family to try to get them out, and she

Personal Narrative: A Career As A Resident Assistant
Volunteer work has always been a prominent activity that occurred within my life. Growing up with a father that was involved in the community
so much that it felt like it was his job, I was always surrounded by community service and helping others. At the young age of six years old, I
decided to do my part as well, feeding the homeless in a local church in New Bedford, Massachusetts. From that year on, I believe a majority of my
most valuable characteristics derived directly from my volunteer work. Now, almost thirteen years later, I am involved in over 100 hours ofcommunity
service per year and am ready to apply it into a new field– as a Resident Assistant. The firstcharacteristic I possessed from my volunteering is becoming
a team player. Being involved in so many committees, boards, and groups I have picked up the ability to work well, collaboratively with others. In
my past, I have played many different roles. I have been on a serving team while feeding the homeless. I have been on the marketing committee for a

Beowulf Character Analysis
Beowulf is a hero, and we all know a hero when we see one. There are many traits and characteristics that make someone a hero. These traits and
characteristics are more expressed in ancient epics and poems. Beowulf is one of the most famous ancient Anglo–Saxon poems still taught to this day
in schools and colleges all over the world. The story starts off of how a man by the name of Beowulf receives news that a neighboring land is being
terrorized by a monster named Grendel. Beowulf shows several characteristics of here such as, bravery, loyalty, generosity, friendship, and showing a
high level of intellect. Beowulf first shows his heroic character through his bravery while journeying on his epic quest. There are several cases where
he is not afraid, and instead of being frightened, he shows great bravery. An example of from the poem is, "Instead, they inspected omens and spurred
his ambitions to go, whilst he moved about like the leader he was, enlisting men, the best he could find; with fourteen others the warrior boarded the
boast as captain" (Beowulf 205–210). This quote gives proof of his bravery because he was the head of the group leading his men. Beowulf proves
that even he himself must be brave in order to lead the bravest of men into battle.
The next example of Beowulf being a hero, are his acts of friendship. Beowulf is able to relate to the people more through his friendship. He shows
this when he talks to the king and the king says, "Beowulf you've come to us in friendship, and because of the reception your father found at our court"
(Beowulf 222–223). This shows that the king was very grateful that Beouwlf made the journey and as a result the king saw Beowulf as a great friend.
Beowulf shows his trait of friendship by coming to save the people of Hrothgar even though he did not have to. He wanted to because the people of
Hrothgar are his friends and wanted to get rid of Grendel. All of these characteristics and examples show that Beowulf is a true hero by showing his
trait of friendship.
Beowulf displays another trait which considers him a hero and that trait is loyalty. In ancient poems loyalty was one of the most important traits a
hero could have. Beowulf was the key model of a hero so he

Interview On Interview Brian Wallace Essay
Leader Interview Project For my Leader Interview Project, I had the great opportunity to interview Brian Wallace. Brian serves as the Reno Managing
Partner of the fifth largest accounting network in the world, Grant Thornton LLP. After graduating college with a degree in accountancy, and acquiring
his Certified Public Accountant license, Brian began his accounting career at Grant Thornton in 1982 and eventually became a partner in the firm in
1995. In his Grant Thornton journey, Brian has gained a tremendous amount of business experience and faced all kinds of challenges working with
different companies, industries, and employees with small, local clients, as well as large, international businesses. I had the pleasure of meeting Brian
at a Grant Thornton firm tour held by an accounting society I am part of on campus. His position, as well as his personality and experience caught my
interest and I emailed him shortly afterwards to hold an interview. Accounting has become a more interesting and attractive position among the
millennials due to the high demand in the industry after the Enron fraud scheme in the early 2000's. It has also become a more interesting field due to
the how the profession's involvement and characteristics have changed since the incident as well. Accountants used to be known to be bean counters,
characterised to be introverts, simply keeping track of companies' financials. In recent years, there has been a shift from profession in which accountants

The DiSC profile system is a specialized profile assessment system. It is designed to provide takers with a clue into which personality category they
fall. Each characteristic is carefully laid out to determine which profile best suits you. In brief, the profile consists of four categories that include
dominance, influence, steadiness and conscientiousness. Each profile consists of a description of various tendencies, the preferred environment where

Effective Strategies
One way to be more effective is to take advantage of working with individuals that I'm not accustomed to. GE tends to provide courses during the year
for project management. I recently completed Change Acceleration Process and Project Managers Toolkit courses. Both were very good classes. I
learned to use tools for becoming organized and how to send clear, thought–provoking messages that are brief and to–the–point.
Conclusion
This profile instrument was very informative and at the same time confirmed the characteristics that I thought I possessed. Each one of us has some
characteristics that are assets and some that need work–strengths and weaknesses that we all possess. As employees in a company, all of our
characteristics work together as part of the business. Being part of a business or the corporate world, we all have different tasks, talents, and
characteristics that we bring to the organization. People work together, much like organs as they function together within a human body. "Just as each
of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and
each member belongs to all the others" Romans 12:4 (New International Version). It takes time and effort to develop as a well–rounded individual.

An Reflection On The Impression Formation
INTRODUCTION:
Impression is a long lasting image of a person created in our minds which can last long for years. There are a lot of research done by Solomon Asch
(1946), Bruner & Taiguri (1954), Rosenberg, Nelson & Vivekanathan (1968) to understand Impression Formation. According to Solomon Asch (1946)
at a glance of any person an impression of his personality can instantly form. Even by looking or talking with that person a whole story about his
entire character can be told. These impressions can be formed quickly and easily which can enhance or distress our opinion on a person. Our ongoing
observations can't be change but we can neglect it. Even it is known that this process is not perfect but sometimes it can be extremely sensitive. ... Show

There has been different studies that shows that skills of impression management work effectively. It even helps in creating optimistic first impression
of a person but it also cannot be true always. For example, it's not always necessary that good first impression of a student (intelligent) on the first day
of school would be same, it can vary or change according to his performance in the class.
The question is why there is always different character in a person. And even when they have same character what make them different from each
other. According to Solomon Asch (1946) every individual have different characteristics. For example, a person can have different characteristics like
he/she is intelligent, energetic, have great sense of humor, is very fast in his work, courageous, punctual and humble with his fellows. This can create
an impression of that person in our mind. A combination of a person character make an impression of him/her on others. But the main question asked
by Solomon Asch (1946) "We ask: How do the several characteristics function together to produce an impression of one person? What principles
regulate this process?"
According to Asch (1946) the variety and way to which one goes elsewhere form the first information given by the trait is variable but some traits have

Professionalism Is The Definite Aspect Of All Professions...
Introduction
Professionalism is the definite aspect of all professions because it connects with typical conducts, aims, or qualities that stand in lieu to any
profession. As we have discussed in class and as it has been written in the class manual, the ability for a worker to groom his or her personality in line
with the temerity to "exhibit a courteous, conscientious and generally businesslike manner in the workplace" is the attributes labeled as a professional.
In retrospect, we have set a standard in the course of learning in the classroom regarding the behavioral looks of a professional. Be that as it may, it is
paramount to discuss the characteristics and the behaviors of a professional, to intensify the Values and the influence they have on the professional
behavior of a disability Support Worker, and also to discuss current personal traits andvalue system as they relate to this profession. I will also identify
any changes I anticipate happening in my value system as I gain more experience in this professional role.
It is unusual and abnormal to make a ferocious altercation concerning the Disability Support Service Profession and it is certainly an auspicious
proclamation to elude some lasting remarks about the characteristics and the behaviors of a professional. One of the essential aspects of a worker 's
characteristics in the field of DSS is his or her circle of ability to be committed to the Organization or employer, to the services the Organization

Personal Narrative : After Completing The Personal Profile...
PPS: After completing the personal profile system worksheet, it was clear I had strong tendencies in the dominance category with secondary
tendencies in the influence category leading to a results oriented profile pattern. Taking authority and making quick decisions are two dominance
traits which are common with this type of profile, and they are also two traits that I've routinely demonstrated throughout my career. Accepting
challenges head on is something I've always enjoyed and I possess a high level of confidence in my ability to overcome any obstacle. Those feelings
are displayed in my rugged individualism, which creates a driving force of character and diligence that I've used to influence others in the
accomplishment of the mission. This reinforces my need to take charge of the situation, believing that I'm the right person to ensure the job gets done.
Additionally, my ability to think on my feet and make critical decisions very quickly often leads to success in my career field of aircraft maintenance,
where time is often the number one critical factor impacting mission accomplishment. The influential side of my profile includes traits of articulation
and active participation in a group. With each group activity we break into, I never hesitate to actively promote ideas and I'm often the one taking the
most active speaking role as the group works through the assignment. A highly developed ability of articulation promotes the environment I desire to

A Reflection On What Makes A Socially Intelligent Leader
In this paper, I will be writing a final reflection on what makes a socially intelligent leader. This will include a reflection on the article called, "Social
Intelligence and the Biology of Leadership" written by Daniel Goleman and Richard Boyatzis. Additionally, I will identify my personal top ten leader
attributes and describe them. Lastly, I will discuss my plan for further self–development to align myself better with my leader attributes.
Goleman and Boyatzis write, "...certain things leaders do – specifically, exhibit empathy and become attuned to others' moods – literally affect both
their own brain chemistry and that of their followers" (p. 76). This is a finding from research that shows how individual minds combine together to
work as a single system. This means that people who are great leaders have the ability to act with a behavior that has an influential force on brain
interconnectedness. Furthermore, being a leader is more about developing an interest in people that will nurture positive feelings in them. This will
lead them to provide better cooperation and support back to the leader (Goleman & Boyatzis, 2008, p. 76).
A typically leader is thought of a person who is in charge, controls others, assigns tasks, deadlines, and often is not respected by peers because they are
harsh and demanding. This type of leadership is often unproductive both for the leader and the followers. They do not have a team environment and
often only trying to what is needed to just

moved in with his grandma, Mamaw, who saw the potential J.D. had to succeed. She encouraged him to do better with his life in many ways, one being
giving him his first calculator. This motivated him to learn math and was the first step in achieving his goals. J.D. soon went on to graduate high school

to say goodbye. Growing up, I also moved to and experienced a new place. I grew up in Findlay, Ohio and lived there until I was about nine years
old. I went to a small, Catholic school and had a close group of friends. My life was turned upside down the day my parents announced we would
be moving all the way to the great state of Texas. My dad had been offered a better job opportunity in Texas by Marathon, his employer. He took the
offer and seized the new opportunity, but unfortunately this did not sit well with me. I cried at first, but eventually accepted that I couldn't change it.
Moving out of the town I grew up in and into a new place took a toll on me. I didn't know what to expect and I did not want to leave my friends and
family behind. Like J.D., being in a new environment was a learning experience. I eventually made new friends and experienced a diverse culture I had
never known to exist. J.D. and I both showed grit in these unfamiliar times. We had the courage to leave everything behind for the better, whether it's
for an improved financial situation or an opportunity to serve our country. Learning how to embrace these experiences and gain knowledge from them
shows a strength of character. The second most important theme is persistence. Persistence is when you continually try at something even though there
may be obstacles in your path. To truly achieve persistence, you must never give up until you have attained your goal. In the book, J.D.

Main Characteristics of Psychology in Egypt
Main Characteristics of Psychology in Egypt
To construct a meaningful picture of psychology as it is practiced in Egypt, the following features may be emphasized:
1. The manner in which Egyptian psychology emerged and has been growing over the years has earned it a solid base for a promising future. In this
context, most important is the fact that the discipline made its first appearance in 1911 as part of establishing and operating the first secular university
and that the discipline's growth was in synchrony with that of the host institution (Cairo University, 1983, p. 31). Growth in this career enabled Egyptian
psychology to have a share in all the strengths the host university has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This sequence of events was determined by the interplay of a plethora of political and sociocultural factors that shaped the main features of the
discipline as it stands at present, and that will, probably, define the way the discipline will grow in the foreseeable future. In the remaining parts of the
present article, an attempt is made to present an overview of the way the progression of the discipline took place in different parts of the Arab countries.
Additionally, we will attempt to define the main characteristics the discipline has been developing (differentially) in the course of that progression. We
will conclude by underlining growth trends expected to flourish in the near future, highlighting at the same time conditions that would be congenial to
a sound growth of the discipline.
Modern Psychology in Egypt
Egypt was the main gateway through which modern psychology was introduced and practiced in the Arab countries. This occurred around the
beginning of the twentieth century and was accompanied by the establishment of the first secular university in 1908 (then named The Egyptian
University) (Rizk, 1998). The founding of the university was itself part of a broad sociopolitical movement ignited by an uprising of national feelings
(lasting from 1882 through 1954) against the Ottoman

Characteristic Of Max Weber
Max Weber is a german sociologist that created a set of characteristics of rational social organizations and bureaucracy as a way to analyze and
measure organizations. The organization that will be applied to these sets of characteristics will be the Target company. First, will be the five
characteristics of bureaucracy and how it appears through the Target company. The firstcharacteristic of bureaucracies is a hierarchy. Target's chain of
command in each store has the store team leader as the highest position that is followed by executive team leaders, team leaders, and then team
members. Assets Protection, human resources, and property management technicians could typically be considered above team members and below
the team leaders. The second characteristic is a division of labor. Each Target location is separated into different departments with specific
responsibilities and specialties. There is beauty, sales floor, assets protection, price and presentation, food service, food and beverage, logistics, front
of the store, and human resources. A few of these departments break down to even more specific jobs. Sales floor is divided into softlines (clothes),
hardlines, and electronics. Food service is broken into Starbucks and the Target Cafe. Now team members must train in other departments of the store
before they actually can work in different areas because each department uses different skill sets. The next characteristic is written rules and regulations

Red Lotus Of Chastity Analysis

  • 1. Red Lotus Of Chastity Analysis In Machiavelli's "The Prince", Machiavelli is able to express and display his own theories and views on how a prince should act in certain situations. The style that Machiavelli uses to explain himself it is very straight forward and most of the time the opposite of what people would think. Machiavelli's concept of being a lion and fox appears in Somadeva's "The Red Lotus of Chastity" , where two of the main characters Devasmita and the nun, Yogakarandita, both attempt to follow Machiavelli's concept of being a fox and a lion. However, Devasmita is the only one that fully uses Machiavelli's concept and comes out with a victory against the nun, which on the other hand did not use both attributes but instead pretended to. All of these centeredcharacteristic that a person should be able to accustom to themselves may sound uncivilized and very self centered but, as we seen in "The Red Lotus of Chastity" , the concept of using both different natures of a lion and fox helped Devasmita to overcome her enemies and getting her life back in order, despite the fact that the society doesn't approve nor glorify those ... Positive Attributes In The Sports Marketing Industry After graduating from the University of Florida with my master's in Sport Management, my goal is to move back to Atlanta, GA and start a promising career in the sport marketing industry. However, I know that to be successful within a career, I must be aware of both my positive and negative attributes. Thus, my awareness of strengths and weaknesses will better guide me to be better employee and person over all. In my case, I have acquired many character qualities, both positive and negative, from different experiences such as life experiences, working, and going to school. Nevertheless, with each trait that I have acquired, I have learned that each trait has shaped me to be a well–rounded individual who is prepared to enter the workforce to ... For instance, as a future sport marketer for a team or agency, my possible responsibility will be to create buzz marketing for a certain player, new item, or the overall organization. Therefore, with my friendly personality, it will benefit me when building and creating networks with other professionals (Public Relations, Journalist, other marketers) who can help disseminate the buzz for the agency or organization. • 3. Protagonist In The Sniper The characteristics of the characters in a story are something that makes them who they are and what you start to learn about them. In The Sniper by Liam O'Flaherty, the protagonist shoots and kills the antagonist. The two characters in the story are, the protagonist which was the narrator (main sniper) and the antagonist (enemy sniper). The protagonist saves the lives of others because of his his intelligence, his determination, and his risk–taking. The narrator's intelligence is one of his most important and most noticeable traits. Intelligence is something that happens in almost every scene in the story. The imagination in your mind will let you see how it goes out and turns into better. The narrator chose to smoke a cigarette and he lit a flame and got shot."Draping flat onto the roof, he crawled back to the parapet with his left hand he felt insured. He drew his knife to fix the wound."(213). Here, the narrator, after getting shot, crawls back acting like there is no pain at all leans up against the parapet (wall on a roof) and gets his knife and cuts his sleeve off to see the wound and get the bullet out. After he got the bullet out and rapped his cut sleeve around his arm to slow down the bleeding. The narrator, after getting shot, he came up with a very good idea."Taking off his cap, he placed it over the muzzle of his rifle. Then pushed his rifle slowly over the parapet until the cap was visible."(214). Here, the narrator got shot and he wanted to see if the enemy ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Personal Reflection When it comes to a person's characteristics, preferences, and beliefs it can be hard to make the distinction between the three. Not only that, but when asked a simple question: "What are some of your defining characteristics?" It's so easy to just draw a blank. It may not even be that you don't want to brag, it's hard to talk about things like that on the spot. Almost as if you were asked, "What's your favorite movie and you've suddenly forgotten every movie you've ever seen. In other words, self reflection is difficult. Namely, making a distinction between the different aspects that make up who you are as a person. However, when asked about some of my defining characteristics I would say what makes me stand out is my personality and intelligence. I don't necessarily have any skills like doing a backflip, or being able to juggle, or anything like that. But I do have a quick wit and a sharp tongue at times, which I've learned to embrace. A lot of people think I'm funny, although I find myself laughing at my jokes harder than anyone else so I'd say that's a characteristic I have as well. I also have an uncanny ability to be able to "read" people and empathize with them extremely well. I'm incredibly observant and pick up on the smallest things. I've even been called an empath on numerous occasions. More than anything this is what most defines who I am. Sometimes I pretend not to care as much as I do for fear of getting hurt, which my closest friends know about me. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Should Minds Be Forced Down The Throats Of Youth? Every generation has their own ideal of the "perfect American", and each generation seemingly losing the right of free thinking more and more. Our society is releasing the grip on the freedom to have an opinion that doesn't agree with the minds of others. Minds are being persuaded to think a certain way in order to have a sense of belonging. Opinions are being forced down the throats of youth in America. Opinions that correspond with major topics such as race, gender stereotypes, or gender orientation are the topics that people have forced their opinion into the circuit for many years. Through the generations the right to an opinion has changed a great deal. Going from two major opinions to allowing for everyone to have their own is how the negative and positives of Americans have evolved. Along with free thinking the change in work ethic is a main change that is shown through the generations. Knowing that they weren 't going to be handed food or money they chose to work for what they wanted to obtain. With their generation being stocked full of hard working, dedicated people it ... Some of these are obvious, such as that they care about what you are doing and always puts you before themselves. Also another trait of a good leader is that they always keep promises they make. Some of the subtle attributes of a good leader are that they do not hide behind bad news. Moreover, they are easy people to talk to and they have a good if not excellent sense of humor. I do not think that there is a single person out there in the world like what I stated above because someone could be good in one area, but lack in another area and such. I sincerely believe that I have characteristics of a good leader, although some of them could be different from the more conventional ones. For example, I am a team player and care about the well being of others, I try my best to help everyone in their time of need, I am generally patient about things, and I really celebrate success in a very enthusiastic way. I think that these qualities are good enough for me to be able to be some type of a good leader. However, I am human so I am not perfect and lack certain traits of a good leader. For instance, I often do not use language that is easy to understand because I use many "big" words, I do not really give people second chances because I feel that one chance is all they need, and also I am not the best person to communicate. Most of the time I try not to do these things, but these bad things still happen once in a while because I am frustrated or aggravated at something. People have taken personality tests that allow them to know which trait they have. However, one can determine her or his personality and know truly oneself through family, friends or colleagues. My small family has always emphasized the importance of values which have had an enormous impact on my whole life. There are three primary aspects of traits that characterize me and shaped me to who I am today. The two main characteristics of traits that my family and friends describe me with them are hardworking and trustworthy, but the empathetic trait is the one traits that I can use to describe myself. one of my significant traits that my friends describe me with it is hardworking because I am usually busy and I always pursue my goals to the end. I pick up this trait from my father who inspired me and had a major influence on me. No matter what, I will push through limitations and adversity to try and obtain what I want, and what is the best for my family. For example, When I was working as a technician in the laboratory, I showed up in my work on time and started my tasks rapidly without spending much time chatting with other employees. • 11. The Tragedy Of Antigone And Aristotle's Description Of A... The tragedy of Antigone is an amazing story of the tragedy that Thebes experienced. At the end of the story one is still left wondering who is the hero and who is the villain. This question has been asked since the story was ever told. After reading the story I am going to explain why Creon best suits the role of hero according to Aristotle's description of a classic hero. Aristotle wrote six characteristics of a classic hero and I am going to use them to explain why Creon is the hero. The first thing that must be covered before one can decide who is the hero of story is the six characteristics of a classic hero. 1. The first trait that describes a classic hero is a character that holds a high position throughout the play. This... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He is part of the noble family that has ruled Thebes for a while. Due to this Creon fits the guide well so far. Next Creon could be considered to be gifted with greatness, but is nowhere near perfect. Creon was not born to be in power, but after taking up rule he shows a strong rule that looks to be promising. A classic hero must have a downfall caused by them and this is checked off by Creon. When Creon forbids the burial of Polyneices; he goes against the law of the gods and later pays for through the loss of his son and wife. He was turned upon by the people and his son, because they saw that it was unfit for him to not allow the other brother to be buried and sentence Antigone to death. Following down the list Creon fits the next characteristic. The loss the Creon experiences is quite harsh and was not really necessary at any point in the story. Through this loss though he gains wisdom as the play ends. Creon found the wisdom that he desired. He learned that his pride was his down fall and it kept him from being great. Now I will show why Antigone just doesn't add up to being the Hero. Unlike Creon, Antigone has no highly regarded position in the story. Even though Antigone and Creon are part of the same family Creon is the one with the noble position. Antigone also shows no natural greatness. She is just like any other person in Thebes. Antigone dose face a downfall that she caused by only herself. Her downfall was caused ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 15. Examples Of Adversity In The Hunger Games Katniss In the Book The hunger games Katniss Everdeen faces overwhelming adversity when she finds herself found in the clutches of the capital stuck in the hunger games. Katniss is able to overcome this adversity by having strong characteristics like her intelligence, resourcefulness and being courageous, these characteristics will be discussed throughout the essay outlining exactly why these characteristics help katniss in the games. To begin the first characteristic that helped Katniss overcome adversity in the games was her intelligence. Katniss shows her intelligence multiple times throughout the book but one example of this would be when reads between the lines of Haymitch's gifts thinking "Haymitch couldn't be sending me a clearer message one kiss equals one pot of broth"(collins 261). The significance of this is that she sees how willing people are to sponsor when her and Peeta are clearly in love so all she has to do for what she needs is to not give up on the games or on Peeta. The next point of how Katniss's intelligence helped her in the book would be How she was able to locate Peeta after hearing the announcement of two tributes of the same district can survive. Remembering back to earlier in the games she thought "he couldn't have survived without water. I know that from the first few days here. He must be hidden somewhere near a source"(collins 250). This shows how in this stressful and vast environment she is able to take a breath and calmly analyze the situation and decipher that he couldn't have gone far from the career camp and he would have to stay close to water. The last way Katniss proves that her intelligence helped her in the games is how she takes out the careers supplies. After careful planning with rue Katniss makes her way up towards the career camp and takes up her bow and shoots "Then the apples spill to the ground and I'm blown backward into the air"(collins 221). This quote shows how with some planning and careful thinking she singlehandedly changed the course of the entire game. For these reasons her intelligence clearly helped her overcome the tall task of the hunger games. This was a known for me and it was born out of a need to do things right without error, and trying to make sure that I do not fail. I have learned that when trying to succeed and accomplish goals, there will be times of failure. This is the way that people learn and improve. • 17. Characteristics Of Human Service Professionals Human service professionals are described as careers in which people help others who may be struggling such as working in a nursery or working at a halfway home. These people dedicate their lives to helping others and trying to better the world. The Human Services profession is one which promotes improved service delivery systems by addressing not only the quality of direct services, but also by seeking to improve accessibility, accountability, and coordination among professionals and agencies in service delivery. In this essay I will list three qualities that I think every human service professional should have and decide who meets these qualities and should join our task force. Empathy is something that every human service professional should have. It's easy to feel bad for someone you're working with, but to put yourself in someone's shoes is a bit more difficult and should be a trait every human service professional has. Patients usually don't want to be pitied or just told a simple sorry. Studies show that people react better when the professional shows that they truly understand and makes them feel less alone. Being empathetic means not putting yourself above the person no matter how different your situations are. An empathetic professional will not make the patient feel as if their situation is so horrible and no one could ever understand. Instead they will talk to the patient as if it was just a casual conversation and really try and understand how they're feeling ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Behaviourism focuses on the action committed by an individual in response to certain situations rather than the thinking done by the individual, in simpler form, 'the reaction'. Conditioning is a theory introduced by behaviourist, this concept discusses how stimuli's can generate predictable responses that can be in sequence and repetitive, this contributes to the understanding of how organism behaviour can be taught and developed due to certain conditions or situations faced. Pavlov was a physiologist that contributed to the first understanding of conditioning, he ran a study on animals, specifically dogs, in which he put forth a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another concept put forth by Pavlov which is more related to the explanation of human behaviour, was his insight on speech which he regarded as also a stimuli that generates response, but rather than a fixated response there are many a human can choose from in response to certain conditions, speech is able to create that flexibility. He stated that 'Speech, on account of the whole preceding life of the adult, is connected up with all the internal and external stimuli which can reach the cortex, signalling all of them and replacing all of them, and therefore it can call forth all those reactions of the organism which are normally determined by the actual stimuli themselves' (Pavlov 1960:407) This understanding may contradict the concept that behaviour is predictable to the stimuli provided, because as humans we are more flexible to choose how we respond. But Pavlov still associated this with conditioning, 'High–order conditioning occurs when a second conditioning stimulus is paired with a conditioned stimulus that has already been established' (Pavlov 1960:33) The higher order conditioning procedure leads to two levels of signals. Children and teenagers often fail to recognize the good characteristics that their parents have and only focus on the negative attributes. As people mature and grow older, they start to recognize the impact that their parents had on their life. For each person, there are different fundamental characteristics that an ideal parent must have. Although no parent is perfect, I believe that a parent's ability to discipline, teach, and respect their child's expression creates the ideal parent. The first, and arguably most important, aspect of an ideal parent is their ability to discipline their children. Without the correcting of wrongdoing, children fail to recognize what is socially right and wrong. When I was younger, my parents would make sure that my disobedience would not go unnoticed. One of the worst things I ever did was throw rocks at one of my parents' friend's car when I was in preschool. My parents made sure to give me time out and a lecture to make sure that I did not do it again. Also, when I was younger I was very prone to sassing back to my parents when I had gotten in trouble. This powerful statement is a very popular belief, that grit is a defining characteristic in our lives. How we go about developing this trait on the other hand is hotly debated. On one side there are, as I call them the critics. They believe that grit is a hereditary trait that cannot be developed in a school environment. Moreover, they believe that if it were to be attempted to be taught, that the consequences would have terrible repercussions on our society. On the other side there are the optimists. They have confidence that grit can be taught, but not quite in the way we first expected. Of course, they also reason that teaching grit has a lifelong positive effect on our society. To be honest I believe that grit can and should be taught in schools. The new and promising evidence of its teaching and results cannot be ignored. It overwhelms the older critical beliefs. In the end though, one must determine for themselves what is right. Many have decided for themselves that grit cannot be taught in a school setting. One of their main issues with attempting to teach grit is that there still isn't a standardized form of teaching this trait. There have been many theories and propositions, but it seems that each strategy is incomplete in some way. Even by looking or talking with that person a whole story about his entire character can be told. These impressions can be formed quickly and easily which can enhance or distress our opinion on a person. Our ongoing observations can't be change but we can neglect it. Even it is known that this process is not perfect but sometimes it can be extremely sensitive. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There has been different studies that shows that skills of impression management work effectively. It even helps in creating optimistic first impression of a person but it also cannot be true always. For example, it's not always necessary that good first impression of a student (intelligent) on the first day of school would be same, it can vary or change according to his performance in the class. The question is why there is always different character in a person. And even when they have same character what make them different from each other. According to Solomon Asch (1946) every individual have different characteristics. For example, a person can have different characteristics like he/she is intelligent, energetic, have great sense of humor, is very fast in his work, courageous, punctual and humble with his fellows. This can create an impression of that person in our mind. A combination of a person character make an impression of him/her on others. But the main question asked by Solomon Asch (1946) "We ask: How do the several characteristics function together to produce an impression of one person? What principles regulate this process?" According to Asch (1946) the variety and way to which one goes elsewhere form the first information given by the trait is variable but some traits have much more ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Professionalism Is The Definite Aspect Of All Professions... Introduction Professionalism is the definite aspect of all professions because it connects with typical conducts, aims, or qualities that stand in lieu to any profession. As we have discussed in class and as it has been written in the class manual, the ability for a worker to groom his or her personality in line with the temerity to "exhibit a courteous, conscientious and generally businesslike manner in the workplace" is the attributes labeled as a professional. In retrospect, we have set a standard in the course of learning in the classroom regarding the behavioral looks of a professional. Be that as it may, it is paramount to discuss the characteristics and the behaviors of a professional, to intensify the Values and the influence they have on the professional behavior of a disability Support Worker, and also to discuss current personal traits andvalue system as they relate to this profession. I will also identify any changes I anticipate happening in my value system as I gain more experience in this professional role. It is unusual and abnormal to make a ferocious altercation concerning the Disability Support Service Profession and it is certainly an auspicious proclamation to elude some lasting remarks about the characteristics and the behaviors of a professional. One of the essential aspects of a worker 's characteristics in the field of DSS is his or her circle of ability to be committed to the Organization or employer, to the services the Organization provides, to ... • 37. Personal Narrative : After Completing The Personal Profile... PPS: After completing the personal profile system worksheet, it was clear I had strong tendencies in the dominance category with secondary tendencies in the influence category leading to a results oriented profile pattern. Taking authority and making quick decisions are two dominance traits which are common with this type of profile, and they are also two traits that I've routinely demonstrated throughout my career. Accepting challenges head on is something I've always enjoyed and I possess a high level of confidence in my ability to overcome any obstacle. Those feelings are displayed in my rugged individualism, which creates a driving force of character and diligence that I've used to influence others in the accomplishment of the mission. This reinforces my need to take charge of the situation, believing that I'm the right person to ensure the job gets done. Additionally, my ability to think on my feet and make critical decisions very quickly often leads to success in my career field of aircraft maintenance, where time is often the number one critical factor impacting mission accomplishment. The influential side of my profile includes traits of articulation and active participation in a group. With each group activity we break into, I never hesitate to actively promote ideas and I'm often the one taking the most active speaking role as the group works through the assignment. A highly developed ability of articulation promotes the environment I desire to verbalize ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. A Reflection On What Makes A Socially Intelligent Leader In this paper, I will be writing a final reflection on what makes a socially intelligent leader. This will include a reflection on the article called, "Social Intelligence and the Biology of Leadership" written by Daniel Goleman and Richard Boyatzis. Additionally, I will identify my personal top ten leader attributes and describe them. Lastly, I will discuss my plan for further self–development to align myself better with my leader attributes. Goleman and Boyatzis write, "...certain things leaders do – specifically, exhibit empathy and become attuned to others' moods – literally affect both their own brain chemistry and that of their followers" (p. 76). This is a finding from research that shows how individual minds combine together to work as a single system. This means that people who are great leaders have the ability to act with a behavior that has an influential force on brain interconnectedness. Furthermore, being a leader is more about developing an interest in people that will nurture positive feelings in them. This will lead them to provide better cooperation and support back to the leader (Goleman & Boyatzis, 2008, p. 76). A typically leader is thought of a person who is in charge, controls others, assigns tasks, deadlines, and often is not respected by peers because they are harsh and demanding. This type of leadership is often unproductive both for the leader and the followers. They do not have a team environment and often only trying to what is needed to just ... • 39. Essay On Hillbilly Elegy The book Hillbilly Elegy is a story about a man that achieved things he never thought possible. J.D. Vance grew up in an extremely small town in Ohio which did not present much opportunity to him. Most of his family members had worked in places like steel mills in the past where physical labor was done in return for low wages. Throughout his childhood, J.D.'s mom battled a drug addiction and was emotionally unstable. Eventually J.D. moved in with his grandma, Mamaw, who saw the potential J.D. had to succeed. She encouraged him to do better with his life in many ways, one being giving him his first calculator. This motivated him to learn math and was the first step in achieving his goals. J.D. soon went on to graduate high school and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... to say goodbye. Growing up, I also moved to and experienced a new place. I grew up in Findlay, Ohio and lived there until I was about nine years old. I went to a small, Catholic school and had a close group of friends. My life was turned upside down the day my parents announced we would be moving all the way to the great state of Texas. My dad had been offered a better job opportunity in Texas by Marathon, his employer. He took the offer and seized the new opportunity, but unfortunately this did not sit well with me. I cried at first, but eventually accepted that I couldn't change it. Moving out of the town I grew up in and into a new place took a toll on me. I didn't know what to expect and I did not want to leave my friends and family behind. Like J.D., being in a new environment was a learning experience. I eventually made new friends and experienced a diverse culture I had never known to exist. J.D. and I both showed grit in these unfamiliar times. We had the courage to leave everything behind for the better, whether it's for an improved financial situation or an opportunity to serve our country. Learning how to embrace these experiences and gain knowledge from them shows a strength of character. The second most important theme is persistence. Persistence is when you continually try at something even though there may be obstacles in your path. To truly achieve persistence, you must never give up until you have attained your goal. • 40. Main Characteristics of Psychology in Egypt Main Characteristics of Psychology in Egypt To construct a meaningful picture of psychology as it is practiced in Egypt, the following features may be emphasized: 1. The manner in which Egyptian psychology emerged and has been growing over the years has earned it a solid base for a promising future. In this context, most important is the fact that the discipline made its first appearance in 1911 as part of establishing and operating the first secular university and that the discipline's growth was in synchrony with that of the host institution (Cairo University, 1983, p. 31). Growth in this career enabled Egyptian psychology to have a share in all the strengths the host university has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This sequence of events was determined by the interplay of a plethora of political and sociocultural factors that shaped the main features of the discipline as it stands at present, and that will, probably, define the way the discipline will grow in the foreseeable future. In the remaining parts of the present article, an attempt is made to present an overview of the way the progression of the discipline took place in different parts of the Arab countries. Additionally, we will attempt to define the main characteristics the discipline has been developing (differentially) in the course of that progression. We will conclude by underlining growth trends expected to flourish in the near future, highlighting at the same time conditions that would be congenial to a sound growth of the discipline. Modern Psychology in Egypt Egypt was the main gateway through which modern psychology was introduced and practiced in the Arab countries. This occurred around the beginning of the twentieth century and was accompanied by the establishment of the first secular university in 1908 (then named The Egyptian University) (Rizk, 1998). The founding of the university was itself part of a broad sociopolitical movement ignited by an uprising of national feelings (lasting from 1882 through 1954) against the Ottoman ... • 41. Characteristic Of Max Weber Max Weber is a german sociologist that created a set of characteristics of rational social organizations and bureaucracy as a way to analyze and measure organizations. The organization that will be applied to these sets of characteristics will be the Target company. First, will be the five characteristics of bureaucracy and how it appears through the Target company. The firstcharacteristic of bureaucracies is a hierarchy. Target's chain of command in each store has the store team leader as the highest position that is followed by executive team leaders, team leaders, and then team members. Assets Protection, human resources, and property management technicians could typically be considered above team members and below the team leaders. The second characteristic is a division of labor. Each Target location is separated into different departments with specific responsibilities and specialties. There is beauty, sales floor, assets protection, price and presentation, food service, food and beverage, logistics, front of the store, and human resources. A few of these departments break down to even more specific jobs. Sales floor is divided into softlines (clothes), hardlines, and electronics. Food service is broken into Starbucks and the Target Cafe. Now team members must train in other departments of the store before they actually can work in different areas because each department uses different skill sets. The next characteristic is written rules and regulations that are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
