2. Pierogi is a very popular dish in
Poland. It’s one of the 12
Christmas Eve dishes .
Pierogi have many types of
fillings, for example cabbage
and mushrooms, fruit, meat,
but the most popular stuffing is
potatoes with cheese.

3. INGREDIENTS
for the DOUGH:
• 500 grams of flour
• 250 milliliters of water
• 50 milliliters of oil
• half a teaspoon of salt
• 1 egg

4. INGREDIENTS
for STUFFING :
• 300 grams of cottage cheese
• 1 big onion
• 700 grams of potatoes
• half a teaspoon of salt
• half a teaspoon of pepper

5. MAKING THE STUFFING:
• Peel the potatoes and cook them
• Grind the potatoes or beat them with a pestle
• Add salt and pepper to the potatoes
• Peel the onion and chop it
• Add some clarified butter in the pan
• Add the chopped onion and
sauté on medium heat for about 10 minutes
• Grind the cottage cheese
• Mix potatoes, cottage cheese and onion together
THE STUFFING IS DONE

6. MAKING THE DOUGH FOR PIEROGI:
• Sift the flour into bowl
• Add salt and oil
• Pour a glass of hot water and stir the dough with a spoon, then start
kneading it
• Wrap the ball of dough in foil and set aside for 30 minutes
• After the time has elapsed, unwrap the dough and divide it into 3 parts
• Roll one part, put the rest aside and cover
• Using a glass, cut out dough circles from the thinly rolled out dough

7. CONTINUED:
• Make small balls of stuffing and place in the
center of each circle
• Fold pierogi in half and stick the sides
together

8. CONTINUED:
• Drop pierogi into boiling water and cook for about
4 minutes
• When you take pierogi out of the water, put them on a plate
and pour over the melted butter
