Makówki(kukutki, kogutki)- one of
traditional Christmas dishes in
Poland. It’s a sweet bread with poppy
seed. This dish is super easy to make
and delicious(if you like poppy seed).

2. What do we need to make the dough?
To make the dough we need:
~250 g of flour,
~2 big(or 3 small) yolks,
~100 ml of lukewarm water.
(portion for 3 people)

3. How to make the dough?
Place the flour on a work
surface, add yolks and water,
then bring the dough together
by kneading it. When the
texture is smooth, form a dough
ball. Then cut into small pieces
and form in the shape of sticks.
Cook in salted water for 5
minutes.

4. What do we need to make the poppy
mass?
To make the poppy mass we need:
~180 g of ground poppy seeds,
~50 g of melted butter,
~2 spoons of liquid honey,
~30 g of raisins,
~30 g of chopped walnuts.

5. How to make the poppy mass?
Put the ground of poppy,
melted butter, honey and
delicacies into a ball and
mix it all together.

6. When the ‘sticks’ are cooked and the
poppy mass is ready put them
together into a ball and mix carefully.
The dish is ready to serve!
