2. Ingredients:
700g of uncooked potatoes
500g of fine whole wheat flour
50g of smoked pork fat/bacon
120g of bryndza (a soft sheep cheese)
1 acid cream
salt
4. Mix potatoes with
flour. Salt the pastry a
bit and mix it all well.
5. boil enough water with 2 tbsp of
salt.
then form the dumplings with a
knife or teaspoon on with cold
water washed wooden plate and
thrown them into the bubbling
salted water. (there is now special
equipment with which you can
form halušky more easily and
which can be bought in shops.)
boil the dumplings a little.
when the dumplings are done
they will float on the surface of
the water.
pick them out with a strainer,
rinse with cold water and mix
with bryndza.
6. Cut up little pieces of
smoked bacon and fry
them.
7. Then put the acid
cream and fried bacon
pieces on top of the
meal.
