ANALYSIS of INSTRUCTIONS
In this intsruction, there are some irrelevant
informations considering the fact that we do not have
to know who is Camilla or we do not have to see her
picture to do exercise. The sentence beginning with
‘choose...’ is enough to understand what is desired in
this exercise. With unnecessary information, it can be
confusing for students to focus on the main task.
In this intsruction, it is easy to understand what to do
because it’s language is quite clear. Furthermore; it gives
information about how to do the exercise.
In this listening activity, the information ‘it is
important that one person does not do all the talking.’ is
redundant. Since students can identify whether one or
more person is talking. What is more, in the dialogue, it
is given who is talking and it is not important to know
who is talking to fill the gaps in this exercise.
In this instruction, every step is given in a clear way but
there may be more explanation to make students
understand well. In addition to this, there is an example
below the instruction and it is very useful for student to
understand what to do.
In this instruction, firstly the basic information is given
in a clear way and afterwards the main activity is
explained. What is more, the information ‘remember to
look quickly over the text without reading every word’ is
useless because scanning is already explained and
student know scanning so there is no need to repeat how
to scan.
In this instruction, the sentences are short and clear
also they give suggestion to help students. Moreover, if
there was an example, that would be better for student
because thanks to examples, student can clearly
understand what is want and what to do.
In this instruction, the explanation is understandable and
there is no unnecessary explanation. Students can easily
understand the activity and they can do the exercise in a
correct way.
In this instruction, there are some unnecessary
explanation for instance; ‘Mrs Bell is a hundred years old.’
The information; ‘She is the oldest person in the village’ is
enough to undertand the conversation. Actually, student
do not need to know what the conversation about in the
section of instruction because they will read the dialogue
so they will learn everything.
In this instruction, the information is clear and
actually the exercise is so easy that there is no need
more explanation. Maybe there can be information
about if the statement is true cross it something like
that.
In this instruction, the language is well expressed
and every step is explained obviously. Moreover, the
necessary information is given and students can easily
follw the steps.
