I have been a Resident Assistant (RA) for about five weeks. Training to be a RA was tiring but very educational. I learned how to handle multiple
situations that could happen with me being RA. After training, it was a series of task that I had to complete as a RA. Those task included: completing
forty–four Room Inventory Form, putting in fix it tickets, etc. Also, I received C.O.R.E. as my functional area. C.O.R.E. is the functional area that

In Moseley, we meet with both roommates and talk about the different sections in the agreement to make sure they understand all the information.
Nicole said we would do agreements like this so we can make sure that they are not just agreeing on everything, but that they actually talk about
each part of the agreement. The roommates I met with were all comprising and getting along. Until, I went to the last room for the roommate
agreement of the day. They could not agree on having guest in their room when one went home for the weekend. Roommate A was fine with it
because she would not be able to go home often. Roommate B was not okay with it, because she would be able to go home a lot and did not want

Since stepping foot into Georgia State University, ingratiating myself within the school campus was my way of evolving my student leadership

With these positions I have been able to share my struggles and successes with the students. I connected more with them because they too have or are
currently going through the same struggles whether it is academic, financial, or social. With these positions I have been able to be someone they
could confide in and someone they could come to when they were at their worst. I was able to give them a push in the right direction and that is the
best way to make sure change is installed throughout a community. By being there for them and talking with them I was able to resonate and give

A comfort zone is a relaxing "safe space" in which people are familiar with because it causes no anxiety or stress. In life, each of us will be in
uncomfortable situations that are outside of our comfort zone. However, we have to be become accustomed in environments that are normally
perceived as uncomfortable to experience what others may have to deal with on a daily basis. Additionally, this applies to social workers. We may
deal with clients or different situations that are out of our comfort zone. However, we must overcome it to be more aware, as well as completing the
job to the best of our abilities. For instance, a strongly devoted Baptist African–American male may be uncomfortable attending a LGBT Pride parade
due to his beliefs. Nonetheless, this experience may change his perspective on individuals from the LGBT community and cause him to not be as

I had gotten to know Jon and his girlfriend "Dee" well in the past few months, and worry racked through me when I heard them arguing loudly

I have done my best to be accessible to my residents and I think this shows in the relationships we've built together. This is evident because they feel

As a student leader we face many different challenges. One particular challenge is that challenge that I heard over and over in returning Resident
