Comparing photos and improving lighting techniques
1.
2. The two images share the same shadowing on the neck and the lighting dominantly hits the
model on the nose which highlights the area under the eye and the chin. The lighting on the
model accentuates the jaw line which makes the face look more dramatic and focussed. To keep
this photograph closer to the animated image I would centre the light more to achieve a more
defined shadow and contrast between light and dark. I would also create a darker surrounding
to enhance a stronger contrast between black and white. I would also improve my image by
making my model stand face on looking at the camera.

4. Comparing my two images I have achieved a casting shadow on my models neck identical
to the virtual image created online. The lips on both model s have been lighted in the
same way as there is no shadow formed around or on it. To improve this image I would
have used a stronger light to highlight the prominent aspects of her face, which will make
her eyes stand out more. The brighter light will create a deeper contrast between the
foreground and background of the image.
