How does your media product represent particular social groups
1.
2. CHARACTERS
My media product has two main characters shown in it, they are what
seems like a similar ago of around 16-18. the target audience is of a
similar age of from around 17 to early 30s. So that the audience could
easily relate to the characters I kept them at a similar age gap. To again
make them easier to relate to I introduce the female character in her
room so that the audience could connect and engage with her of living a
similar life to them. Having her own art everywhere with an erratic mess
surrounding the bed. Similar, I assume, to the way the rest of the rest of
the audiences rooms are.
3. SOCIAL GROUPS
The social groups that are shown in my media product are not an obvious
ones. They reflect personality and what they do in there lives however
to sum up/ categorise the characters I would put the female into ‘indie’
‘alternative’ category because the way those to social groups dress/act
is to there own devices and that is how I wanted her to reflect. Doing art
and having her own opinions on the way things should be.
The male characters is similar but again slightly different having small
parts of true personality shown in the way he can. Having what looks
like trainers/skate shoes making the only part of him that reflects a
personality a ‘skater’
Both these social groups are considered and ‘alternative’ because they do
not comply with the social norm and allow them selves free spirit and a
more free feeling to the way they dress in and around society.
