1. “Digital Post It Note”
Reflection/Plenary
Using blogs for student reflection or plenary activities works
really well.
Students can write a short reflection on their learning or engage in a
plenary activity.
A simple example of this is a “digital post it note” reflection exercise that I have
used with several of my classes now.
Rather than handing out post it notes for a plenary exercise or starter (which I have
done in the past) I asked my students to create a digital post-it note which answers
the reflection question and post it to their blogs.
For something so simple, the students were really into it and it didn’t take them long
to figure out how to get a picture of a post it note and insert it into their blogs.
Here is how to do it…

2. Click on the
image of the Post
it note you like.
Save it to the
Camera Roll

HOW TO - STEP BY STEP… Go to
google.co.nz
and type in
“post it note”
into the search
bar (images)

3. 3.
• Open up the post it note in Pic
Collage, Keynote, Notablity, or any
other app that allows you to:
A) Put text on an image
B) Save as an image
• Write your reflection on the post it
note and save it all as one image to
camera roll or hard drive.

4. 4.
Go to their blog either via
Wordpress.com or the Wordpress App.
Create a New Blog Post (as usual)
5. Then insert the picture
of their post it note into
the post and publish.
