Language Arts/Literacy
This week we will read Moon, learn more about nonfiction books, and work on
listening to our classmates during turn and talk. In writing, we will continue
to learn the components of a story, including; beginning, middle, and end.
Math
In math, we will keep practicing putting numbers in order, counting on, and
greatest and least. We will learn about number sets and start writing or
solving number sentences. At home, a great way to incorporate these
concepts is putting food, clothes, or silverware in two sets and counting how
many in all!
Science
This week, we will review the life cycle of a butterfly and then look at the
specific parts of a butterfly. We will continue documenting in our science
journals and observe our newly hatched butterflies! Ask your child to sing
the life cycle song!
Spanish
Last week, we tasted mangos and drank passion fruit juice! This week we will
continue to learn about Costa Rica and taste chocolate cacao. Ask your child
to do the movements as they sing along to los pollitos dicen!
Coming Up!
Friday is Dia del Nino and UIC will be participating between 9-10:30am. Feel
free to come join us! Also, remember there is NO SCHOOL on Monday!
