The preschool activities for the upcoming weeks include singing nursery rhymes, counting during register, and learning classmates' names. Parents are encouraged to go for walks in nature to look at leaves and collect autumn items, read books to help develop language skills, and listen to develop concentration. The preschool will be closed on October 20th for staff development and for half term break from October 20th to 30th. Parent/teacher conferences will be held the week of October 30th to November 3rd during preschool sessions.

Dear Parents,
Activities we will be doing in Preschool:
 Singing nursery rhymes at group time, encouraging the children to choose
their favourites.
 Counting the children at register time and encouraging them to use numbers
as part of their everyday language.
 Learning the names of new friends.
Activities to do at home with your child:
 Enjoy walking in the park or the woods, talking about the leaves and
crunching through them. Collect a selection of autumn objects for our
nature table after half term.
 Continue singing rhymes and reading books to your child. Modelling language
in this way is the best way to help your child develop their own speech.
Becoming a good listener is also an important skill, helping the children to
understand the rules of conversation and develop their concentration.
Apart from that, books are exciting and stories are great fun!

 Preschool will be closed on Friday (20th
Oct) for a staff development day.
We are then closed for the half term break, re-opening on Monday 30th
Oct.
 The week after half term (30th
Oct-3rd
Nov) we will be having parent/key-
person interviews which will give you the chance to have a more detailed
chat with your key-person and to discuss how your child is settling in to
pre-school. These will be held while your child is in session. You will have
the opportunity to sign up for an appointment this week. If this causes
any difficulties, please speak to a member of staff.
