Summer Term 4th
-15th
July 2016
Dear Parents,
Activities we will be doing in pre-school:
 Continuing to talk about the story of The Bear Hunt. We will also
continue with associated craft activities.
 Watching our caterpillars as they become cocoons and eventually
emerge as beautiful butterflies. If your child has already told you
that they have flown away, they are correct; this is our second
batch.
 Starting to learn our letter sounds, as we begin singing Jolly
Phonics songs.
Activities to do at home with your child:
 Go on a butterfly hunt either in the garden at the park. Count how
many you see and how many different types you see.
 Read “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” with your child and talk about
how the caterpillar changes to become a beautiful butterfly.
 Look up Jolly Phonics songs on YouTube and start singing them with
your child. The CDs and books are also available on Amazon.
Notices:
 Remember that our end of term sing-along/ performance is on
Wednesday 20th
July (last day of term) at 2.45 pm until

you may choose to swap this for one of your usual sessions. Please
