Karen Grand the main character of your story suffers a great loss, but it is not known what until
halfway through the story. She is a widow and is trying to cope with life without her husband. The
opening scene hints at her depression. Despite the character analysis and stating that she is happy
the reader can clearly assume that Karen is far from happy. The main conflict in the story is man vs.
himself or in this case woman vs herself. The conflict she faces is internal. Trying to cope with life
and the loss that she has experienced. She seems to be going through a routine, stuck in a rut. At the

stuck in a rut, on her regular Sunday routine, by why is this Sunday special, other than the letter,

The book, In the Beginning, by Karen Armstrong follows the first book of the Bible, Genesis. It
unfolds some very well–known stories in Genesis. Armstrong goes through each of the stories of
Genesis and interprets what each story is about and how we can relate it to our own lives. The book
of Genesis can be difficult to understand and it holds many mysteries within it, but with the help of
Karen Armstrong, we are able to understand the stories of Genesis and what they mean.
This is the story of the Bible's first book, raw and unchurched. Karen introduces us one by one to the
characters and their stories, making no effort to turn them into saints, for they are nothing like the
impossibly and depressingly flawless characters we met in Sunday School. Throughout, the authors
of Genesis remind us that we can expect no clear–cut answers. We wrestle with the text, measuring

The Growing Up Of A Refugee Camp
Moving to America was the biggest change in my life. Before, I know very little of this world and
my thoughts and opinion were very narrow. I did not have the best education and I think little about
my future since I lived in a refugee camp. I also could not open myself up to people of different
background because of the lack of diversity while living in the camp. But moving to America I was
introduced with a new culture, education, and diversity that changes my life and my views.
Before I moved to America I lived in a Thailand refugee camp called Mae La. Growing up in Mae
La camp there was not a lot of diversity since most people who live there were Karen people. All my
neighbor were Karen, therefore I was not close to people of different background or people with
different ethnicity. I could not open up to them easily since I only speak Karen language. I was more
comfortable with the Karen people too since I know mostly Karen people and my school was full of
Karen kids. I went to a mission school in Mae la and the school in Mae La refugee camp was not
well made like the one in US, it was made of bamboo and there was no floor. Mae La also have a
poor education system so many Karen student including myself did not get a full advance education
like the one in America. Since I was still a kid when I lived in Mae La camp, I did not know about
the struggle of living in refugee camp.

Personally, I liked multiple theorists but I didn't really like everything they spoke about. In the
beginning, Karen Horney's views on the three different neurotic trends and how she perceived basic
anxiety. Yet, I also liked the way Raymond Cattell brokedown and organized personality traits and
the way Carl Rogers broke down actualization into becoming a fully functioning person. I see that
all of their theories had valid point of views on the mind and personality. Those three were the ones

Silkwood v. Kerr–McGee (1979)
After the discovery of plutonium contamination on Karen Silkwood's body and in the house she
shared with co–workers, Silkwood died in a mysterious auto accident. Her father, who was her
estate administrator, then filed suit against Kerr–McGee Nuclear Corporation for personal injury,
mental distress, and property damage.
The Silkwood v. Kerr–McGee case raised new questions about safety of workers in the nuclear
industry. At the plant where Silkwood worked, employees worked with plutonium, which presents a
high risk of serious health complications on the internal organs, tissues, and bone, especially if the

Karen Mcgrane Challenges
We all come across challenges that might push us a few steps back, but we can always figure out
various ways to overcome those obstacles if we just think outside the box and get creative with our
work. A web designer by the name of Karen McGrane, stumbled upon many challenges during her
career, but the one that caught my attention was learning to design around those annoying ads. Some
of the methods she used to design around those ads were by asking to customize text placements,
creating her grid around ads, and thinking differently about her placements. She wanted to inform

Now, when knowing the placement of where an ad was placed, Karen McGrane was able to build
websites that went around these ads to still create something great. With advertisers getting smarter
and smarter on where they placed their ads, it was time for the web designers to start upping their

Karens: A Fictional Narrative
Karen looks away, with her exubrant eyes, You could see her eyes, dancing like leaves falling on a

Chung has been operating under what he feels are the established norms for his culture. Ted's
relationship with the Taiwanese client exhibits the Chinese management principles of paternalism,

At a minimum Karen needs a mentor to train her on the Chinese culture if she hopes to successfully
develop the Taiwanese market. It would do her good to learn a lesson from this experience also that
if you plan on going into a market that is of a different culture ensure you make yourself
knowledgeable about the culture and they way they conduct business.

such differences?
I personally take pride in my ability to work in a multi–cultural environment; this ability did not
come overnight or without learning by mistake. I spent 21 years in the U.S. Navy working with
many cultures. I moved to Hawaii in 1982 and that is where my ability to understand and work
together with different cultures was developed. I normally do not believe in stereotypes but found
that military personnel and families stationed in Hawaii either love it or hate it here, there is very
little middle ground. For the ones who hate it in Hawaii I seem to always see a common thread
between them. They come to Hawaii from one of many cultures on the mainland and think that the
people here should conform to their culture and lifestyle, when this does not

parents Berndt Wackels Danielson and Clotide came from two very different backgrounds. Mr.

These patterns were based off on different aspects people need to succeed in life. With these patterns
she was able to apply them to different peoples neurosis. In order to be neurotically affected Horney
believed someone could contain all ten patterns, but if they didn't it was still possible. Through three
different categories of Detachment, Compliance, and Aggression, Horney condensed the ten
different patterns of neurosis. Detachment is a person moving away from a possible solution, or
letting go of a personality. Compliance is seen as someone yielding from connecting with others, or
someone who is trying to not gain so much attention. In Horney's idea children who tend to face
difficulties communicating, or having a relationship with their parents use this strategy. Aggression
is being more against people, or having extreme solutions. Adults and children who fall into this
neurotic category tend to be angrier and become unfriendly to those around them. Through out
Horney's ideas and theories she began to see that some children might just want to become more
independent at times. This spark she had lead to rethink her theories, and years later into her work
were considered. After writing, "Neurosis and Human Growth; The Struggle Toward Self–
Realization," in 1950, Horney published her Mature Theory as a summarization of her publication.
In her book she speaks about the ideas she's developed regarding neurosis, stating the three neurotic
solutions that are compatible to the stress of living. One of her main arguments was that some
people deal with their stress and anxiety by acting as if nothing is bothering them and then develop
