Duties:
As an outstanding DeputyTeam Leader I was responsible for managing myown team, allocating workloads andtasks and
ensuringthat service standards were met. I alsoliaisedregularlywithother TeamLeaders to discusscompanyprocedures,
standards andgoals to ensure that myteam operates towards allof them.
Daily/Nightlytasks:
1. Effluent plant samples taken. Phenols, SuspendedSolids, Thiocyanates fromaerationbays.
2. Allocatingworkloads
3. Monitoring Naphthalene/Benzole/Ammonia andwastewater plants e nsuring optimal functionality.
4. Monitoring process variables:Temperatures, Flows, Levels andPressures.
5. Changeover of:Pumps, Heat Exchangers, Turbines, Distillation Columns, Incinerator Units, Electrostatic
Detarrers, Gas exhausters andLegionella routines.
6. Isolation/de-isolationof plant process/equipment before/after maintenance using Safe Working Procedures.
7. Dealingwith breakdowns, arranging fitters, electricians and technicians for regular maintenance andalso arising
issues. Inputting breakdowns on a SAPsystem.
8. Process changesinaccordance withlaboratoryresults.
9. Pressure testing of vessels after maintenance.
10. Handover from previous shift/Reading/writingshift logs
Main achievements atSSIUK:
The vast list ofprocesschanges, cost saving achievements at SSI UK wouldbe far toomuchfor a CV. Belowis a list of just a
small sample of the major transformations made byme:
1. I personallycreateda multi-level ProcessOperator training program in accordance with a HSE request.
2. I personallyimplemented anOperator Training Program to all Process Operators to create a better
understanding of processes, more efficient operations, a safer environment a reduction inoperatingcosts.
3. I personallycompiled plant and process P& ID & alsoPFD drawings.
4. My suggestion to change the Anti-Foambeing usedfor an alternative Ferrameenproduct ina Projects Team
meeting. This slashedcosts by60% andsavedapproximately£12000 per year.
5. The changes I personallyimplemented included a Ferrameen additive to gas lines to limit shutdowntimes,
changes to products beingusedto not onlysavedcost but also ensureda far more efficient and environmentally
friendlyprocess.
6. The adoptionof a Ferrameenproduct researched and suggested bymyself was used to limit Ammoniastress
corrosioncrackingin The Coke OvenGas System.
7. I alsosuggestedcloser monitoring of our processes usingSPCcharts.
8. I altered LaboratoryTest schedules to pre-empt anyarising issues to enable processchanges to be made more
rapidly.
9. I createda more efficient andcost effective Biological Effluent Plant process. The changes to laboratoryschedule
ensured breaches were no longer a concern. Thisslashed£10,000 per dayfrom the budget in out of consent
charges.
