PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Manager – Control Room (Iron-ore beneficiation plant)
It is a beneficiation plant that processes Iron-ore fines to convert it into iron-ore slurry as well as upgrades/ increases the percentage
of iron content. The plant not only adds value with increase of iron content but also reduces the cost of transportation. It is a totally
integrated steel producer, Starting with an iron ore beneficiation plant (8MTPA) at Bailadilla in Chhattisgarh and a Slurry p ipeline
(267km-world’s second longest) to its pellet plant at Visakhapatnam. It is one of the least employed and most profitable ventures of
ESSAR Groups
Spearheading entire operations of the unit with final accountability to achieve targeted production and productivity targets.
Overall in charge of the complex providingcross functional leadership acrossall functional domains to facilitaterealization of
overall organizational objectives.
Production planning: Monitor and follow-up the execution of the Plant production plan to ensure the maximum utilization of
the resources in the most efficient and cost effective manner.
Maintenance Coordination: Give Reports for major operational abnormalities to the maintenancedepartment and follows up to
ensure proper response and work continuity. Communicate directly with Maintenance regarding pending notification if the
problem is considered priority.
Reports: Prepare regular incident for operations activities for future reference and for Operation In-charge review. Prepare
Monthly/yearly reports for operations Head as well as informed about work progress. Review Shift In-Charge Reports to
determine if they were completed accurately and whether or not there are deviations from standard parameters and discuss
that with the Production Head.
Training: Plan the trainingactivities such asOJTand external trainingfor assigned Control Room and Field Operators to improve
their performance of the current job and develop their capabilities to operate the total plantOperation. Followup and evaluate
progress and performance of operators as a result of training, provide encouragement and or caution as may be necessary.
General Operation: Follows up the operations through the work instructions given by the operations Head. Ensure plant
equipment and auxiliary’s utilization is maximized with minimal costs and within standards.
Monitor the production, water & quality to maintain the standard limits. Review Reports and log sheets for shift In-Charge and
Follow up on existing problems and progress corrective steps to reach resolution of problem.
2. Make sure Permit to Work and Safety Tags to carry out the required maintenance work – includes isolation of problemareas are
always applied.
Conduct periodic inspection of the plantequipments to determine mechanical status of the equipment and overall readiness of
the plant and identify safety infractions, if any, takes appropriate action.
Perform regular checks in plant, pumping stations, inspect the process system, housekeeping status and to take action
accordingly.
Coordinate with other Department in case of interface problems.
Participate in shut-downs for maintenance. Respond to emergency situations such as tripping trouble shoot.
Look after producing iron-ore slurry of 66.5% Fe grade with a grind of 75-80%(-45 microns).
Preparing production plan, estimating requirement of various inputs such as - Centrifugal slurry & water pumps, Piping,
Thickeners, Hydro cyclones, High gradient magnetic separators, Belt conveyors & Belt feeders and managing procurement on
competitive costs, managing production process, developing customized patterns , introducing process improvements, and
balancing deployment of manpower, machines and material resources to maximize operational efficiency.
Co-ordinatewith the electrical and maintenancedepartment through DCS (Distributed Control System) in-order to reduce break-
down time of equipments. Co-ordinate with NMDC (National Mineral Development Corporations) for continuous supply of
required quantity & quality of raw material.
Contributingpolicy inputto standardizepurchasepractices to ensurecomplete transparency and economy in purchaseactivities
Defining and enforcing quality control system and procedures to ensure total adherence to laid down quality parameters.
Defining norms of consumption of raw materials and consumables and implementing process controls to prevent process
