Let Me Start By Telling A Interview Essay
Let me start by telling a short story about someone I know. She spent weeks applying to jobs, and
one afternoon, she got a call from her number one choice asking for an interview. While at the
interview, she was asked several questions about her prior education and qualifications. The boss
was very impressed with what he had heard, and he told her that her interview was the best one he
has had in years. At the conclusion of the interview, the boss stood to shake her hand; however,
when she stood to return the shake, her crop top that she wore under her blazer was revealed. She
never got a call back saying she got the job.
The way one dresses for an interview, whether the interview be for a job, internship, or scholarship,
can determine whether or not he gets the position or whatever for which he has applied. Some
people think that, in order to look professional, a lot of money has to be spent on clothes and shoes.
However, a report from the Institute for College Access and Success shows that students who earned
a bachelor's degree in 2012 accumulated an average debt of $29,000, which is an estimated increase
of six percent per year from 2008 to 2012 (Study 2014).
With students consistently having to spend more money on education, most students cannot afford
to go out and buy new business professional or casual clothing; however, this is not a bad thing.
Amber Aziza, a career jump–starter, says that it is best to wear an outfit that is reflective of your

Analysis Of Transformers : The Last Knight
With Optimus Prime gone, the war between humans and the Transformers has gone to hell. The
battle has had the line blurred, as to whether Autobots are here to help the humans, or if they are
also toxic for the future of our planet. The fate of the rest of the world could be determined by
secrets lied by Transformers throughout the history of our world. Will these secrets save all of planet
earth, or are the humans forced to accept the fate of the Decepticons turning earth into a new
cybertron. It's been almost ten years since the first Transformers film was released, back on July 3ed
of 2007. Now in 2017 we have the fifth film in this dreadful series coming to theaters. I believe that
Transformers: The Last Knight had a chance at being a watchable film. It seemed like it was going
to be more story driven with all of the Transformers artifacts being left in history and really digging
deep into the lore of the Transformers. And I have to admit when I first started watching this film I
was very excited and optimistic. It opened very strong and had me very intrigued as to what was
going to develop out of this story. But what I realized about fifteen minutes after the film started
was that nothing changed. It's just as senseless as any of the other Transformers films. Mark
Wahlberg (playing Cade Yeager) just couldn't connect with the audience emotionally, and just stuck
to portraying a very basic "bad–a**" action hero. I don't even want to mention how pointless Vivian

Who Is The Spinning Jenny And How Is It Significant To The...
In 1764, during the Industrial Revolution, the textiles industry changed forever when the first
spinning machine was invented. The Royal Society of Arts offered a prize for an invention that
could spin six threads at once but would only need one person to attend to it. One of the inventors
that took to the challenge was James Hargreaves, 1720 to 1778, who produced the Spinning Jenny, a
machine that mechanically reproduced the actions of the hand spinner. The Spinning Jenny was
significant to the development and progress of the Industrial Revolution and it also had a
momentous impact on not only yarn production but also people's lives, in particular people in
England.

The 1764 invention, that wasn't patented until 1770, had eight smaller wheels, instead of one, which
allowed the operator to spin eight threads at the one time, as shown in source two. This modern day
sketch shows the design and construction of the Spinning Jenny and how all eight different spindles
were powered by a single wheel. This meant that one spinster could produce eight threads in the
same time it had previously taken to produce one. This advance in spinning machinery meant that
the quality and strength of yarn and cloth was greatly improved. Hargreaves' invention best spun the
short fibres of regular length, such as cotton. The cotton yarn produced was considered to be of very
good quality. However, the wool yarn from the Spinning Jenny was quite unsatisfactory. This was
due to the irregular lengths which resulted in lumpy, uneven

An Interview At A Social Service Centre Essay
1. Introduction In this report I will identify and critique an interview of important skills and lack of
them towards a client by a social service practitioner. Within this report I will identify positive and
negative aspects that affect the efficiency of the Help process. This meeting is held at a Social
service centre by Barbara. It is the first meeting between the pracitioner and her client JinLing, a
Chiniese migrant who is unhappy with her job situation. 2. Micro Skills 2.1 Identification of Micro
Skills The micro–skills that are identified in this conversation are effectively used to enhance the
client interaction. The first positive aspect is the use of door openers. Barbara offers a refreshment at
the beginning of the interview and opens up the conservation with icebreaker comments about the
weather. This is an effective way of increasing the clients comfortability as well as getting the client
to talk. The next important micro skill that Barbara does, is explaining her role and the services role
at the beginning of the interview. In this, Barbara also explains to the client about confidentiatlity.
Barbara effectively explains confidentiality and her ability to hold information which gives the
client assurance of confidence. After asking the client about herself, Barbara uses minimal
encouragers, such as nodding, and repeating last words to show attentive skills through brief
indictaions she is listening. These are very natural and do not divert the clients

Reflection Paper On Homelessness And Homelessness
When we were first introduced to this assignment, I was both excited and nervous. I was excited
because it gave me the opportunity to step of my comfort zone. I was also excited to be able to get
out into the community and practice some of the social work skills that we have learned in class. I
was nervous because I knew it would be hard to hear the struggles of a single–parent experiencing
homelessness. As someone who was raised by a single–parent, I also know how easy it can be to fall
into homelessness. Overall, I think I was more excited about doing this assignment because I truly
did want to hear the stories that single–parents experiencing homelessness wanted to tell.

acknowledge that homelessness is a very real thing. I also try my hardest to recognize that these
individuals are people; therefore, I now make it a point to at least make eye–contact with them on

Social Justice
As I stated before, far too often our society ignores that homelessness is a struggle for many people.
Additionally, our society often thinks these people choose to be homeless. Terra talked about an
incident at a gas station, and how one of the employees at the gas station said all the people at across
the street are drunks and addicts. She talked about how upset she gets when people have these
misconceptions about people that are struggling with homelessness. Hearing her talk about this
broke my heart because our society should not shame people for being homeless; instead, we should
be looking at solutions to end homelessness. It is a human right to have basic human needs, yet our
society continually provokes their unjust agenda.
Our society also tends to ignore domestic violence, which is something that my mother and Terra
both faced. Terra could not get any help with service providers because her children and her were
not in immediate danger; although, Terra certainly knew they were in danger. Social justice is

Interview Report And Self Assessment
Interview Report and Self–Assessment
I interviewed Shawn Grimes (Mr. Shawn), the Executive Director of Digital Harbor Foundation.
DHF offers after school programs that let students all the way from elementary to high school
explore and develop technologies. The interview went well. I was calm and confidant, partly
because I have known the interviewee for a couple of years, but also because I practiced asking
questions beforehand.
Looking back at the interview, one of my weaknesses was that I sometime spoke little fast. It seems
like when I get too excited I speak little faster than my normal pace. Usually in interviews,
especially if I am the one that is being interviewed, I take few seconds to think and respond.
However, when I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My other strengths in the interview were recognizing timeliness of the questions and transitioning to
different topics when it was needed. I was also able to ask questions that unfolded wide rage of
experiences Mr. Shawn faces as an Executive Director. For example, in a "professional world",
people, especially investors expect their clients/partners to dress up in a suit and tie and have short
hair that fits the "professional look". However, Mr. Shawn prefers dressing little differently, and his
choice of hairstyle is not something a typical professional would wear. He explained, because of his
spiky hair and a t–shirt with jean clothing, sometime people expects him to act "dumber" and
"uneducated", he added, once a investor asked him if he was a pirate. It shows that even when
people do not know others, they tend to have perceived ideas just by looking at them. While Mr.
Shawn did not say anything, his choice of clothing and a hairstyle gave certain ideas to people
around him.
By conducting this interview, I learned a lot about the work people at Digital Harbor Foundation do.
Although I participated in the program for two years, before the interview, I only knew what the
students do in the program. However, after the interview, I also learned about the work staffs do, as
well as the (communication) problems they face. Mr. Shawn emphasized that most of

Navajo Weavers Essay
No weaver can go without a loom. It is speculated that the Navajos adopted their vertical loom style
from the Pueblo people (Kaufman and Selser 10). The traditional vertical loom is made from
branches of wood tied together with cordage. This portable loom was perfect for the nomadic
lifestyle of the Navajos (Kaufman and Selser 10). Navajo weavers have always used the same basic
structure for the loom. The size of the loom depends on what the weaver is creating, yet more
recently looms have been made much smaller for beginners. In an interview with my brother Chris
Brown, an intermediate weaver, he said, "When I first started weaving, my teacher at Diné College
had me work with a loom that was only a foot tall." (Brown). The length and width of a loom will ...

There is a Navajo tradition of rubbing spider webs on a baby's hand or hair so that they will become
great weavers. In Diné Bahane' or the Navajo Creation story, Spider Man made the first loom and
tools from sunshine, lightening, and rain and Spider Woman instructed the Navajos in the
techniques of weaving. It is said that they Holy People taught the Navajos how to weave so that the
Navajos could provide for themselves and stay warm (Brown). Throughout the centuries, Navajos
have wove to provide for their families. Unlike other Southwest tribes, Navajos are not masters in
the realms of pottery or basketry, instead Navajos are known for their woven rugs. While weavers
from the early 20th century and contemporary weavers differ in some aspects, they both use the
loom to depict Navajo designs. Navajo weaving has evolved in terms of technique, materials,
artistic style, and spiritual meaning. Despite the changes, weaving has and will always be a key
component in Navajo culture. When I interviewed Jaren Numkena, he said, "Weaving is my job
right now but I only weave when it feels right. To me, weaving is life."

Japan And India Dbq Essay
Throughout the late 1800s to the early 1900s, both japan and India saw a rise in the use of machines
in the textile industry. Both showed similar recruitment techniques, but were not so similar in who
the workers were and their working conditions.
The Indian textiles chart showed how India used machines to produce greater yarn and cloth
amounts in 1914 as compared to the production in 1884. As well it demonstrated how the amount of
people using machine made textiles had greatly increased opposed to hand made textiles (Doc 1). In
1916 Radhakamal Mukerjee, an Indian economist, explains how that handwoven textiles cannot

conditions in the Japanese textile factories seem barely livable. In contrast the Indian factory
workers lived in their own huts and worked for only two years (Doc 9). This shows much better
living conditions for Indian workers than Japanese workers. Since the document is written by a

Explanation Of 'The Bayeux Tapestry'
The Bayeux Tapestry The Bayeux Tapestry (1070–80, Fig. 1) is, in fact, not a tapestry at all. It is a
piece of linen cloth embroidered with wool thread, that measures about 200 feet in length and three
feet in width. The cloth is embroidered with images, ranging from battle scenes (Fig. 2) to banquets
(Fig. 3) to Halley's Comet (Fig. 4). The colors are muted, including dark blue, yellow, rust red, grey,
and green. The proportions are unnatural and there seems to be no care given to liner perspective or
scale; instead, the work seems to focus on developing a cohesive narrative. The figures are flat and
expressionless, yet they have a sense of movement and purpose as they move from one scene to
another. The figures have a believable space, which is especially vivid in the battle scenes, as the
figures appear to fall over one another in a animated struggle. The transition from one scene to the
other is fluid and the story line is easy enough to follow. The tapestry is divided into three sections,
the top, middle and bottom. Each section appears to have its own independent, though
complementary, narrative. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

battle of Hastings. Due to the illiteracy of the people, the tapestry would have served as a type of
newsreel or newspaper. However, the people would only have seen what William the Conqueror and
his supporters wanted them to

Yeoman Jobs Research Paper
Medieval Jobs – The Role of a Yeoman A yeoman owned his own land and often farmed it himself.
His land would be equivalent to 30 – 120 acres. A Medieval yeoman was required to be armed and
trained with a bow. Wealthy yeoman would be expected to also be trained and armed with a sword,
dagger and the longbow. Yeoman were therefore often employed to guard and protector the nobility.
Other Medieval Jobs Although many people were employed on the Manors and in farming there
were also many different jobs and occupations in the towns and also in the Medieval castles. These
jobs are explained and defined in the following list of Medieval Jobs: Armorer The typical medieval
armorer was a high–end blacksmith. Since being an armorer was a skilled trade that required a lot of
custom work, the prices fetched for armor enabled a much better lifestyle than that of a typical
blacksmith, if the work was good enough. Armorers would receive orders from nobility or knights,
and custom make a suit of armor to fit that exact person. If the armor was damaged, the armorer
would also repair it. Nobles and knights weren't the only people with armor, however, and the
armorer would serve the lower classes as well, especially in times of war. Apothecary ... Show more

Interview About A Person That Inspires Me
For this project, I had decided to interview a person that inspires me through the work that he has
done for our Seattle Youth Group Ministry – Matthew. This interview had really allowed me to get
to know him on a more personal level and help reassured me on my own vocation in life. From a
young boy who lived in darkness to a man who now led a life dedicated to spreading God's light is
what makes me felt connected to sit down and do this interview with him. Matthew's contributions
as a youth group leader played a huge part on how our youth group was able to grow till today.
Although it was his story behind it that really made me felt alive during our conversation.
Hearing Matthew's testimony on the struggles that he had to overcome in order to fulfill his
vocation that he believed God had chosen for him to follow made me learn about the importance of
faith. I was surprised to hear Matthew share about the disabilities he has now based on his childhood

Evaluation And Critical Analysis Of A 25 Minute...
The following is an evaluation and critical analysis of a 25 minute counselling session, titled Travel
broadens the mind: An interview with 'Jane' on the 30/04/2016. A Rogerian style of counselling was
used as this involves congruence or genuineness, empathy and unconditional positive regard
(Geldard & Geldard, 2012) an analysis of the interview in respect to these aspects is discussed .This
structure of the interview was influenced by a review of different counselling microskills and was
loosely based on the Counselling Interview Rating Form (CIRF) developed by (Russel–Chapine &
Shermin, 2000) which breaks a counselling session into the 5 phases of: opening, exploration, the
action phase, problem solving and Closing. A partnership model was used in the interview and is
evaluated using the characteristics of partnership defined by Davis, (2002). As Barnes and Rowe
(2013) define partnership as a strengthening and enabling process the interview is also analysed for
these characteristics The interview took place at my home at a mutually convenient time, so we
were more comfortable we sat facing slightly offset to each other with just the corner of the table
between us as we each had a cup of tea. I would consider offering a client something to drink in the
future it seemed to validate just sitting and talking. An ideal set up would have been two
comfortable single chairs facing each other (not directly face on) as suggested by Geldard and
Geldard (2012) to promote comfort and

Career Opportunities In The Coles Industry
The person I met was a representative from the Coles stand at the careers expo. I spoke to this
person about possible future postgraduate opportunities in the Coles industry. I asked her a
questions ranging from things that would benefit me as an individual to questions about her position
in the company to large scale questions about the company. By asking such a diverse range of
questions it helped me to gain a better understanding of how the professional business world works

Juan Rodriguez Interview
My interview with Mr. Juan Rodriguez was a great opportunity to learn more about information
technology and specifically about life as a business systems analyst. As someone who is still
exploring different majors, this interview gave me a lot of insight into the field of Information
Technology. I interviewed Mr. Juan Rodriguez, who is still only in his upper twenties, I figured that
he could be more relatable candidate to interview. As a Business Systems Analyst at Accretive
Health it was interesting to learn and discuss the business side of the health industry. I asked a
variety of questions ranging from the expectations, recommendations, anything else in IT and his
career.

This change in his career path intrigued me quite a bit, Juan explained that if he had to do it all over

went on and asked him about his day–to–day responsibilities, Juan typically deals with
troubleshooting and debugging any problems inside of their company's databases. He also works
with his company's clients on a daily basis. He has a wide range of responsibilities and it was really
encouraging to learn that he wasn't just working on one specific task at a given time. Next I asked
him about the career path "ladder" in terms of promotions. Juan explained he hasn't been promoted
yet, but he has made transitions from one department to another department within his company. He
told me that he felt as if he was in a "dead end" with his first position at Accretive Health. During
his time at Accretive Health, Mr. Rodriguez has been in a couple different departments and involved
in business intelligence, special project lead, and now he is currently a business systems analyst. He
has only worked a few years at the company so learning that he has been able to change positions
and take on new and different tasks was very interesting because I thought that

Reflection Paper On Identity
A person's life is made up of an impossibly unique combination of moments, interactions, and
relationships, all of which amalgamate to create a human with an identity unlike any other in the
world. When looking at a person's life up close, it almost appears as if their identity is something
that has been relatively constant throughout their life, however, if a person's life is looked at a
through a more holistic perspective, it's easier to see how specific events, people, and relationships
in their life made them who they are today. For this assignment, I was tasked with conducting in–
depth interviews pertaining to life experiences and identities with another member of the class.
Through the interview process, hidden sentiments arose, truths were revealed, and I had the
opportunity to see the different ways in which my identity was formed. In analyzing these
interviews, I found that through using the works of influential identity theorists, Daniel J. Canary,
Michael J. Cody, Valerie L. Manusov, Jan E. Stets, and Peter J. Burke, I was able to dissect my
interview and correlate specific instances of my past to aspects of my current identity, specifically
my independent, self–assured, and open–minded disposition. The first identity theory that will be
looked at is Canary et al's The Four Cognitive Processes. There are many facets to this theory, but
some prominent aspects that will be looked at are those of schema, family structure, and stereotypes.
Schema is defined as a

always found themselves too cold or too hot. And are wasting there money on different kinds of
winter gear, and most do not work out. What if they tried wool, synthetic, or alpaca wool, which one
keeps people the warmest in the winter?
"By 4000 BC, Babylonians were wearing clothing out of crudely woven wool fabric. People soon
began to develop and maintain herds of wool–bearing animals, and the wool of sheep was soon
recognized as one of the most practical to use. During the eleventh and twelfth centuries, wool trade

sturdy but, soft fibers. Alpaca wool is not as tightly bound as wool, thus making it easier to breath

There is snow gear made out of other materials, and different materials mixed together to make

The Challenges Of Buying Healthy Food
After we spitted our tasks separated into 2 groups we quickly get an Uber in order to get to our

"Sorry, I really don't have time to stop and the bags are very heavy." The lady slowly walked away
from us, after we got rejected we immediately changed us way to approach people. Instead of asking
the people walking in and out with 2–3 long questions, we switch to short and simple questions; for
example "what are the challenges from buying healthy food?" or "What is stopping you from buying
or eating healthy food and products?" etc. While we conducting the interview, we realized that the
shorter the simpler the questions, the more effective the interview. When we start interviewing
people with long questions, lots of people tented to hesitate on answering, some even walk–away

Tabriz and Carpet
1. (a) – Riya Didwania Elizabeth Burge's poem "Ispahan Carpet" is an extended metaphor which
aims to compare the beauty of the traditional Persian carpet (known as the Ispahan carpet) to the
appalling conditions in which the carpet makers are forced to dwell. The central theme of the poem
is to emphasize on the exploitation of children which is prevalent in various parts of the world. This
leads to the end of all the hope and optimism that ever prevailed in the lives of the children to have a
future; a future which is bright and helps them flee away from all the misery and desolation of
carpet weaving. It intends to create awareness about child labour which remains unnoticed and

The speaker arouses the reader's emotions of sympathy and consideration by stressing on "One
hundred". The fourth stanza implies that the girls have no knowledge beyond carpet weaving since
the speaker terms their eyes as those "whose whole horizon is the carpet". Even though the guide is
proud of the exquisite creation by the girls, the tourist begins to question the morality of the
situation. The speaker uses an inquiring tone to ask "who can unravel the world's weaving?"
Feelings of dissatisfaction as well as curiosity are conveyed as the speaker wonders why terrible
traditions like this are being carried forward to future generations. The speaker expresses the
worthlessness of the rugs which is a beauty, undoubtedly, but is not as essential as the childhood of
the girls which is being exclusively sacrificed to create it. As the tourist places her plump
("swollen") hand on the bent and fragile ("greenstick") shoulder of the girl, she feels sympathetic
towards her. The "large eyes" of the girl signify her loneliness and solitude and bring about a feeling
of compassion in the reader. "Speaking darkness" has been juxtaposed in this stanza. The speaker
along with an emotion of empathy also has a deep sense of admiration and respect for the girls.

Exploring Different Career Options With Wells Fargo Other...
I decided to explore different career options with Wells Fargo other than management roles. The
move to Colorado needed to happen by the end of April and because of the time constraints
transferring into a management role was an unrealistic goal. I started networking and followed the
capstone project guidelines. In the class lecture for week 8 the University Of Buffalo School Of
Management provides suggestions for questions to ask during an exploratory interview, "Setting up
appointments with all the friends, professional acquaintances and corporate bigwigs you can is just
the first step. More important is knowing what to say once you arrive. Since wasting contacts ' time
is unacceptable, you should prepare an agenda before each meeting. Decide what you would like to
find out from your contact, and then prepare questions to elicit that information" (40 Questions to
Ask, 2015, para. 1).
After reaching out to former co–workers I was able to get two hiring managers contact information.
One was for the mortgage department and the other overlapped with retail banking where I could

The Role Of Textile In Early Civilization
2. In early civilization, it was normal for those who hunted to use the skins of animals as a covering.
As people began depending more upon agriculture, this changed. Textiles were a needed product.
Women spun the yarn by using a distaff and spindle. She held the distaff which was a long rod that
held the loose fibers, along with the spindle, a little rod that revolved as she let it fall. This way of
spinning, twisted the yarn as it was wound. Women had simplified this process to allow them to
accomplish other tasks at the same time they spun the yarn. Once the yarn was spun, both men and
women would help weave the cloth for clothing. Many peoples in early civilizations used the fleece
of sheep and goats. Many raised their sheep especially

Second Interview Analysis
The second interview for me, was a start to a new beginning. During the first interview, I was not
adequately prepared. I was anxious, nervous, fidgety. My mannerisms did not display a comfortable
and confident clinician. However, my performance and display in the second interview as a step in
the right direction. In the first interview, I came off as very strong and persistent. My welcome was
warm but I was adamant on solving the client's problem my way. I made the mistake of negatively
leading the client, and pushing them to get the toxic out of their life. Although, the client did not see
that as fit. Having the ability to watch myself talk and counsel, completely changed my outlook on
how I present myself. I saw myself as anxious, quick–witted, fidgety, and persistent. I could see
how stressed I was, and so far, from calm, reserved, and collected. Since then, I have been working
on speaking slower and being a bit more relaxed in general. Working on those skills in my daily life

Lowell Mill Research Paper
19–5–2000 The Lowell Mill Experiment In the early nineteenth century, F.C. Lowell and Nathan
Appleton lead to the creation of a mechanized and water powered system that could transform raw
cotton to woven material. This system was names the 'Lowell Mills'. In order to protect their
agrarian ways, this textile industry was based of manual labors, which lead to the use women as
their primary work force. Unlike in the past, women were able to work in an area away from home

These problems actually led to the involvement in politics for women. Not too long after women
started joining the mills, the conditions began to rapidly deteriorate due to the depressed economy
that was caused by the creation of rivaling textile mills. The comfort that enticed the women was
now gone. "The workload was increased, wages (already less than those of men) were lowered,
dormitory rents were raised, and the mills became a more stressful and more unsafe place to work,"
these setbacks caused some workers to leave, but the rest stayed back and by 1834 went on a strike,
opposing the heads of the industry for taking away what they were promised. Sometimes the heads
of the industry would turn the women down, but they were persistent and sometimes it paid off. An
example of this is when the women struck in order to reduce the amount of time they worked; The
heads of the industry made the average worker work for twelve to fourteen hours a day but after two
strikes and protests they were able to reduce the work time to eleven hours a day. (Used this because
I'm not too sure I paraphrased this properly). Along with strikes certain women rose above the rest
as political figures. A well–known woman of sorts was Sarah Bagley; "she was a fiery labor activist

Let Me Start By Telling A Interview Essay

  • 1. Let Me Start By Telling A Interview Essay Let me start by telling a short story about someone I know. She spent weeks applying to jobs, and one afternoon, she got a call from her number one choice asking for an interview. While at the interview, she was asked several questions about her prior education and qualifications. The boss was very impressed with what he had heard, and he told her that her interview was the best one he has had in years. At the conclusion of the interview, the boss stood to shake her hand; however, when she stood to return the shake, her crop top that she wore under her blazer was revealed. She never got a call back saying she got the job. The way one dresses for an interview, whether the interview be for a job, internship, or scholarship, can determine whether or not he gets the position or whatever for which he has applied. Some people think that, in order to look professional, a lot of money has to be spent on clothes and shoes. However, a report from the Institute for College Access and Success shows that students who earned a bachelor's degree in 2012 accumulated an average debt of $29,000, which is an estimated increase of six percent per year from 2008 to 2012 (Study 2014). With students consistently having to spend more money on education, most students cannot afford to go out and buy new business professional or casual clothing; however, this is not a bad thing. Amber Aziza, a career jump–starter, says that it is best to wear an outfit that is reflective of your own ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Analysis Of Transformers : The Last Knight With Optimus Prime gone, the war between humans and the Transformers has gone to hell. The battle has had the line blurred, as to whether Autobots are here to help the humans, or if they are also toxic for the future of our planet. The fate of the rest of the world could be determined by secrets lied by Transformers throughout the history of our world. Will these secrets save all of planet earth, or are the humans forced to accept the fate of the Decepticons turning earth into a new cybertron. It's been almost ten years since the first Transformers film was released, back on July 3ed of 2007. Now in 2017 we have the fifth film in this dreadful series coming to theaters. I believe that Transformers: The Last Knight had a chance at being a watchable film. It seemed like it was going to be more story driven with all of the Transformers artifacts being left in history and really digging deep into the lore of the Transformers. And I have to admit when I first started watching this film I was very excited and optimistic. It opened very strong and had me very intrigued as to what was going to develop out of this story. But what I realized about fifteen minutes after the film started was that nothing changed. It's just as senseless as any of the other Transformers films. Mark Wahlberg (playing Cade Yeager) just couldn't connect with the audience emotionally, and just stuck to portraying a very basic "bad–a**" action hero. I don't even want to mention how pointless Vivian Wembley ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Who Is The Spinning Jenny And How Is It Significant To The... In 1764, during the Industrial Revolution, the textiles industry changed forever when the first spinning machine was invented. The Royal Society of Arts offered a prize for an invention that could spin six threads at once but would only need one person to attend to it. One of the inventors that took to the challenge was James Hargreaves, 1720 to 1778, who produced the Spinning Jenny, a machine that mechanically reproduced the actions of the hand spinner. The Spinning Jenny was significant to the development and progress of the Industrial Revolution and it also had a momentous impact on not only yarn production but also people's lives, in particular people in England. Significance to the Industrial Revolution (development, progress): Expanding ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The 1764 invention, that wasn't patented until 1770, had eight smaller wheels, instead of one, which allowed the operator to spin eight threads at the one time, as shown in source two. This modern day sketch shows the design and construction of the Spinning Jenny and how all eight different spindles were powered by a single wheel. This meant that one spinster could produce eight threads in the same time it had previously taken to produce one. This advance in spinning machinery meant that the quality and strength of yarn and cloth was greatly improved. Hargreaves' invention best spun the short fibres of regular length, such as cotton. The cotton yarn produced was considered to be of very good quality. However, the wool yarn from the Spinning Jenny was quite unsatisfactory. This was due to the irregular lengths which resulted in lumpy, uneven ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. An Interview At A Social Service Centre Essay 1. Introduction In this report I will identify and critique an interview of important skills and lack of them towards a client by a social service practitioner. Within this report I will identify positive and negative aspects that affect the efficiency of the Help process. This meeting is held at a Social service centre by Barbara. It is the first meeting between the pracitioner and her client JinLing, a Chiniese migrant who is unhappy with her job situation. 2. Micro Skills 2.1 Identification of Micro Skills The micro–skills that are identified in this conversation are effectively used to enhance the client interaction. The first positive aspect is the use of door openers. Barbara offers a refreshment at the beginning of the interview and opens up the conservation with icebreaker comments about the weather. This is an effective way of increasing the clients comfortability as well as getting the client to talk. The next important micro skill that Barbara does, is explaining her role and the services role at the beginning of the interview. In this, Barbara also explains to the client about confidentiatlity. Barbara effectively explains confidentiality and her ability to hold information which gives the client assurance of confidence. After asking the client about herself, Barbara uses minimal encouragers, such as nodding, and repeating last words to show attentive skills through brief indictaions she is listening. These are very natural and do not divert the clients ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Reflection Paper On Homelessness And Homelessness When we were first introduced to this assignment, I was both excited and nervous. I was excited because it gave me the opportunity to step of my comfort zone. I was also excited to be able to get out into the community and practice some of the social work skills that we have learned in class. I was nervous because I knew it would be hard to hear the struggles of a single–parent experiencing homelessness. As someone who was raised by a single–parent, I also know how easy it can be to fall into homelessness. Overall, I think I was more excited about doing this assignment because I truly did want to hear the stories that single–parents experiencing homelessness wanted to tell. Experiences Related to Homelessness I certainly have a different ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... My thoughts have stayed the same about homelessness; however, I certainly have started to acknowledge that homelessness is a very real thing. I also try my hardest to recognize that these individuals are people; therefore, I now make it a point to at least make eye–contact with them on the street. Social Justice As I stated before, far too often our society ignores that homelessness is a struggle for many people. Additionally, our society often thinks these people choose to be homeless. Terra talked about an incident at a gas station, and how one of the employees at the gas station said all the people at across the street are drunks and addicts. She talked about how upset she gets when people have these misconceptions about people that are struggling with homelessness. Hearing her talk about this broke my heart because our society should not shame people for being homeless; instead, we should be looking at solutions to end homelessness. It is a human right to have basic human needs, yet our society continually provokes their unjust agenda. Our society also tends to ignore domestic violence, which is something that my mother and Terra both faced. Terra could not get any help with service providers because her children and her were not in immediate danger; although, Terra certainly knew they were in danger. Social justice is helping ... • 7. Interview Report And Self Assessment Interview Report and Self–Assessment I interviewed Shawn Grimes (Mr. Shawn), the Executive Director of Digital Harbor Foundation. DHF offers after school programs that let students all the way from elementary to high school explore and develop technologies. The interview went well. I was calm and confidant, partly because I have known the interviewee for a couple of years, but also because I practiced asking questions beforehand. Looking back at the interview, one of my weaknesses was that I sometime spoke little fast. It seems like when I get too excited I speak little faster than my normal pace. Usually in interviews, especially if I am the one that is being interviewed, I take few seconds to think and respond. However, when I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... My other strengths in the interview were recognizing timeliness of the questions and transitioning to different topics when it was needed. I was also able to ask questions that unfolded wide rage of experiences Mr. Shawn faces as an Executive Director. For example, in a "professional world", people, especially investors expect their clients/partners to dress up in a suit and tie and have short hair that fits the "professional look". However, Mr. Shawn prefers dressing little differently, and his choice of hairstyle is not something a typical professional would wear. He explained, because of his spiky hair and a t–shirt with jean clothing, sometime people expects him to act "dumber" and "uneducated", he added, once a investor asked him if he was a pirate. It shows that even when people do not know others, they tend to have perceived ideas just by looking at them. While Mr. Shawn did not say anything, his choice of clothing and a hairstyle gave certain ideas to people around him. By conducting this interview, I learned a lot about the work people at Digital Harbor Foundation do. Although I participated in the program for two years, before the interview, I only knew what the students do in the program. However, after the interview, I also learned about the work staffs do, as well as the (communication) problems they face. Mr. Shawn emphasized that most of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Navajo Weavers Essay No weaver can go without a loom. It is speculated that the Navajos adopted their vertical loom style from the Pueblo people (Kaufman and Selser 10). The traditional vertical loom is made from branches of wood tied together with cordage. This portable loom was perfect for the nomadic lifestyle of the Navajos (Kaufman and Selser 10). Navajo weavers have always used the same basic structure for the loom. The size of the loom depends on what the weaver is creating, yet more recently looms have been made much smaller for beginners. Both showed similar recruitment techniques, but were not so similar in who the workers were and their working conditions. The Indian textiles chart showed how India used machines to produce greater yarn and cloth amounts in 1914 as compared to the production in 1884. As well it demonstrated how the amount of people using machine made textiles had greatly increased opposed to hand made textiles (Doc 1). • 12. Explanation Of 'The Bayeux Tapestry' The Bayeux Tapestry The Bayeux Tapestry (1070–80, Fig. 1) is, in fact, not a tapestry at all. It is a piece of linen cloth embroidered with wool thread, that measures about 200 feet in length and three feet in width. The cloth is embroidered with images, ranging from battle scenes (Fig. 2) to banquets (Fig. 3) to Halley's Comet (Fig. 4). The colors are muted, including dark blue, yellow, rust red, grey, and green. The proportions are unnatural and there seems to be no care given to liner perspective or scale; instead, the work seems to focus on developing a cohesive narrative. The figures are flat and expressionless, yet they have a sense of movement and purpose as they move from one scene to another. The figures have a believable space, which is especially vivid in the battle scenes, as the figures appear to fall over one another in a animated struggle. The transition from one scene to the other is fluid and the story line is easy enough to follow. The tapestry is divided into three sections, the top, middle and bottom. Each section appears to have its own independent, though complementary, narrative. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 30. Personal Narrative: Woven Mohair Blanket Woven Mohair Blanket While I was in my grandparents' house a few years ago, I had noticed a very soft woven mohair blanket in their living room. I was told that my aunt had picked it up while she was in Ireland, and I knew that when I went to Ireland, I would acquire one for myself. I ended up purchasing one in a small gift shop while I was on my trip. As of now, my woven mohair blanket can be found on a shelf in a closet, so that it will continue to look new and not become worn out. I scarcely use it unless I get cold, because it keeps me fairly warm. The blanket is 25 percent wool and 75 percent mohair, which is the hair of the Angora goat, and was woven right in Ireland. During the interview process, the most surprising thing (moments) about it was the amount of people participating. After me and my teammates spent about 5 minutes standing in front of "Safeway" we approach one of the costumer walking out from Safeway's exist, she was carrying 2 groceries bags, so almost immediately we walked up to her in order to ask her a simple questions that we had prepared. The funniest yet saddest respond back was "Sorry, I really don't have time to stop and the bags are very heavy." The lady slowly walked away from us, after we got rejected we immediately changed us way to approach people. Instead of asking the people walking in and out with 2–3 long questions, we switch to short and simple questions; for example "what are the challenges from buying healthy food?" or "What is stopping you from buying or eating healthy food and products?" etc. While we conducting the interview, we realized that the shorter the simpler the questions, the more effective the interview. When we start interviewing people with long questions, lots of people tented to hesitate on answering, some even walk–away after the first question. After we change our strategy and questions into shorter and simpler, people turn out to be more interested in answering and more collaborative, especially when we helped narrow the answer choices into "yes or ... • 33. Tabriz and Carpet 1. (a) – Riya Didwania Elizabeth Burge's poem "Ispahan Carpet" is an extended metaphor which aims to compare the beauty of the traditional Persian carpet (known as the Ispahan carpet) to the appalling conditions in which the carpet makers are forced to dwell. The central theme of the poem is to emphasize on the exploitation of children which is prevalent in various parts of the world. This leads to the end of all the hope and optimism that ever prevailed in the lives of the children to have a future; a future which is bright and helps them flee away from all the misery and desolation of carpet weaving. It intends to create awareness about child labour which remains unnoticed and ignored through out the world. The poem ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The speaker arouses the reader's emotions of sympathy and consideration by stressing on "One hundred". The fourth stanza implies that the girls have no knowledge beyond carpet weaving since the speaker terms their eyes as those "whose whole horizon is the carpet". Even though the guide is proud of the exquisite creation by the girls, the tourist begins to question the morality of the situation. The speaker uses an inquiring tone to ask "who can unravel the world's weaving?" Feelings of dissatisfaction as well as curiosity are conveyed as the speaker wonders why terrible traditions like this are being carried forward to future generations. The speaker expresses the worthlessness of the rugs which is a beauty, undoubtedly, but is not as essential as the childhood of the girls which is being exclusively sacrificed to create it. As the tourist places her plump ("swollen") hand on the bent and fragile ("greenstick") shoulder of the girl, she feels sympathetic towards her. The "large eyes" of the girl signify her loneliness and solitude and bring about a feeling of compassion in the reader. "Speaking darkness" has been juxtaposed in this stanza. • 34. Exploring Different Career Options With Wells Fargo Other... I decided to explore different career options with Wells Fargo other than management roles. The move to Colorado needed to happen by the end of April and because of the time constraints transferring into a management role was an unrealistic goal. I started networking and followed the capstone project guidelines. In the class lecture for week 8 the University Of Buffalo School Of Management provides suggestions for questions to ask during an exploratory interview, "Setting up appointments with all the friends, professional acquaintances and corporate bigwigs you can is just the first step. More important is knowing what to say once you arrive. Since wasting contacts ' time is unacceptable, you should prepare an agenda before each meeting. Decide what you would like to find out from your contact, and then prepare questions to elicit that information" (40 Questions to Ask, 2015, para. 1). After reaching out to former co–workers I was able to get two hiring managers contact information. One was for the mortgage department and the other overlapped with retail banking where I could step down from my current role. From that point forward I knew I needed to make an important decision and decide what part of the bank I wanted to transfer too. I took the initiative by reaching out to the Sales Manager in Mortgage. Women had simplified this process to allow them to accomplish other tasks at the same time they spun the yarn. Once the yarn was spun, both men and women would help weave the cloth for clothing. My mannerisms did not display a comfortable and confident clinician. However, my performance and display in the second interview as a step in the right direction. In the first interview, I came off as very strong and persistent. My welcome was warm but I was adamant on solving the client's problem my way. Having the ability to watch myself talk and counsel, completely changed my outlook on how I present myself. I saw myself as anxious, quick–witted, fidgety, and persistent. Lowell and Nathan Appleton lead to the creation of a mechanized and water powered system that could transform raw cotton to woven material. This system was names the 'Lowell Mills'. In order to protect their agrarian ways, this textile industry was based of manual labors, which lead to the use women as their primary work force. Unlike in the past, women were able to work in an area away from home and, though significant, this small difference lead to big changes. Not too long after women started joining the mills, the conditions began to rapidly deteriorate due to the depressed economy that was caused by the creation of rivaling textile mills. The comfort that enticed the women was now gone. "The workload was increased, wages (already less than those of men) were lowered, dormitory rents were raised, and the mills became a more stressful and more unsafe place to work," these setbacks caused some workers to leave, but the rest stayed back and by 1834 went on a strike, opposing the heads of the industry for taking away what they were promised. Sometimes the heads of the industry would turn the women down, but they were persistent and sometimes it paid off. An example of this is when the women struck in order to reduce the amount of time they worked; The heads of the industry made the average worker work for twelve to fourteen hours a day but after two strikes and protests they were able to reduce the work time to eleven hours a day. (Used this because I'm not too sure I paraphrased this properly). Along with strikes certain women rose above the rest as political figures.
